  The loan process understandably required a lot of documentation but the closing took a long time. Fortunately, all the approvals came on time and we closed on the due date, but there was a lot of anxiety around the final approval of the loan and it came right down to the wire. I wish the approvals happened with a few days to spare.

  New American provided financing for an out of state, secondary home and made it work for us. Our main point of contact was very good by listening to us and advocating for us. We were surprised the points on the loan suddenly jumped after we did our home purchase offer, but rising interest rates and world events may have played a role. At times the loan process seemed to be opaque and outside the control of our main point of contact. We went into closing wondering if we would be surprised by additional costs, but we were not. Closing was up front, easy to do, and no surprises.
