  TFX has been a lifesaver for us. We moved from the US to Europe in 2021 and used TFX last year as well as this year. Super easy to navigate through their website. There is tax help at your fingertips. 100% better than other tax programs i have used in the past. I would, and I am recommending TFX to all my expat friends!

  I was a new client in 2021. Filling out the initial tax questionnaire took awhile, but once that was done the process was quite speedy, and the accountant who looked after me answered all of my questions quickly and clearly. I was very satisfied with the service I received.

  I post about it every year on my social media profiles, but I have to say that I have had a wonderful experience with TFX - Taxes for Expats.   Trying to figure out how to file taxes while living abroad was very intimidating to me. I was late because I was procrastinating. The experts at Taxes for Expats walked me through the process. I'm so thankful I found them! They made an overwhelming chore understandable and doable. I have returned every year since and always recommend them to friends who also live abroad.   I was skeptical at first when I received advertising, but the experience was way beyond what I expected. Everything was well done from the communication (and reminders), to the data entry process, to the responsiveness of the preparer, to the absolutely top level quality of the work. I was especially impressed that TFX really tried to maximize benefit for me by exploring several options - versus I have had tax preparers in the past simply go through the motions to complete as easily as possible for them. I would highly recommend TFX to everyone (and have already done so to my friends). Unless something changes, I will be a TFX customer for life.

  Fast, accurate, thorough tax preparation. Better customer service and less expensive than another service I used. They even found me a refund on Federal tax that I wasn't expecting. My situation is a little complicated but the onboarding process helped me make sure I provided all the information my tax consultant needed to prepare my return properly. I'm a loyal customer now.

  I have used TFX for four years' worth of IRS filing, in order to "catch up" to the US tax requirements. TFX helped me gain peace of mind knowing that I am now in compliance. And then I got those COVID stimulus payments! I was able to fly home for Christmas. Now in 2022 I have prepaid my tax return and received a $50.00 bonus for that. Money well spent.

  taxesforexpats was the fulfillment of a long search for a system which could guide me through the US tax system as an expat. The well designed questions fit my circumstances and this was augmented by clarifications and review by CPA Dean. In fact, I had responses from Dean within a hour or less on occasion, even with the overseas time difference. I am now going with confidence into my third year with TFX. Highly recommended.

  Incredible company for all tax purposes. What seemed like a complicated process was made easy to understand.   Taxes for Expats is fast, easy, and professional. I have only had good experiences and interactions with the accountants. My only issue is the price, but given the market (and considering just how complicated the IRS makes it) it is about the best service out there and is much cheaper than other accountant agencies.

  If you find, after signing an engagement letter, that you are ineligible for a service (e.g. Streamlined) or that the services to be rendered change in any way, ask for a detailed summary of the new fees based on the service actually being rendered. Don't ask, don't get. -10 Jun 2021 I engaged TFX for the Streamlined Process (totaling $2292). -TFX informed me I was ineligible for SP on 23 Jun 2021, and would do standard returns/FBARs for me instead. No new engagement letter/summary confirming the revised fees I should expect came through. I paid an initial fee ($465) for the first set of filings completed. -8 Jul 2021 I received the final bill ($1047) to cover the remaining years' filings and paid in full. -22 Jul 2021 TFX asked me to confirm that the project could be closed. All filings were complete and I had paid my bill. I was satisfied our business was complete so I confirmed. -7 Aug 2021 TFX sent a new invoice saying I had been underbilled, with no detail of how they had come to this amount. The 'Pay Now' link in the email didn't work - even my dashboard confirmed all bills had been paid. TFX acknowledged that, confusingly, '$0 due' was showing at the top of the email because the original bill had been paid in full. A detailed breakdown of fees was only sent to me when I questioned this new invoice. -8 Aug 2021 I complained to management via the portal about this additional invoice after I had already paid their 'final' bill and the project had been closed, and flagged that even their own portal showed a zero balance. I received no response. -17 Sept 2021 The original final bill was retroactively amended, making it appear as though I had deliberately underpaid them in July. -17 Sept 2021 I complained to Customer Service and was told they would look into it and reply via email. They did not contact me again until I chased them on 4 October 2021. They simply referred to a 4 Oct email from TFX's President. -5 Oct 2021 In the end I have paid this additional amount after receiving a terse email in which TFX's President disagreed with my assessment of this customer service as appalling. She did not address the poor billing/communication processes I'd flagged. Neither did she express any understanding of why I might be unhappy about how this has been handled. Although I am happy with the support I received from my assigned accountant, my experience after filing has been unpleasant to say the least. This will be my first and only time using TFX.

  Taxes for EXPATS has done a great job preparing my taxes over the last four years of filings. The questionnaires allow me to input my information up front and then sit back and relax as they grind out the forms. They have been very responsive to all questions and correspondence that I have shared with them. I would recommend them highly to any EXPAT for tax preparation.

  I have been using TFX for more than a decade. I started when I was living overseas and continued after I returned to the US. They are always attentive, efficient, responsive, and accurate. Plus, each preparer I have had is friendly and helpful. It is especially good for me since I still have investments overseas and they are very good at wading through the requirements of arcane and confusing tax practices.   I left the US in 2018 for good. I had/have to make 2 tax returns USA/Germany. So I used TFX the last 2 times for the US part. It was a pleasure and a huge help shipping around bank accounts in different countries and other topics (stocks) which are handled in a different way.
