Unlike the earlier reviews I was able to download this product (Microsoft Office 2019) without any issues onto my Mac computer. Unfortunately I had to purchase this newer version of Office as the latest IOS from Apple effectively made my 2011 Office obsolete.

I purchased MS Office Home and Student 2019 to replace Office 365 that came pre-loaded on my new Lenovo computer. I no longer require everything that 365 offers at a yearly renewal fee. All I need is Word and Excel. PowerPoint is a plus as is OneNote, and I don’t have to pay for it each year.As soon as I purchased it from Amazon, I received an email stating it was ready to download from my Amazon account at my convenience. I first uninstalled Office 365 from my computer. Then I downloaded Office 2019 H&S. I typically don’t like installing new software, because it seems something always goes awry during the process. This time, I clicked download link, and after a couple minutes, I had a message stating the download was completed and ready to use. I opened Word to create a test letter and sent it to my printer. I did the same with Excel. Everything worked great. No issues downloading.

I'm not use to downloading MS programs (old school, I like disks) so it took me longer to figure some stuff out, like where to find it on my computer. I have Microsoft Office Home and Student 2003, so this is way different than what I'm use to. If you know your way around a computer and MS office programs a little, you can get to where you need to. Overall it's lookin ok.

I read the reviews about problems downloading and I was hesitant. The price was much better than going to the Apple store. I wanted it for my MacBook pro 13 so that I could use files for Excel and Word from my desktop using the cloud. It downloaded in just a few minutes. I did have to go through the problem of forgetting my Microsoft password and resetting that. Once that mess was done, I logged in easily to the program. It does keep me logged in after entering the user ID and password the first time. Very happy with the download! Instantly I have the programs and I didn't have to leave my house!

The software works fine. Nothing new there. The problem is with the delivery process from Amazon. As a download delivery as opposed to a disk or key, everything pointed to setting up the Amazon games and software download utility. After repeated try’s and repeated error messages, I started to scour the internet looking for people with similar problems. I found many problems and few answers. Finally, I came across an answer that one of your techs gave which was to ignore the download utility and download direct from Microsoft. Good answer! Only took most part of an hour to find that out. Come on Amazon...you can do better.

I was worried at first about how hard it would be to install and if there were going to be problems. However, I didn't have a single problem. It was super easy to install and there were no problems. The link Amazon provides sends you right to Microsoft where all you really have to do is sign it. Looking forward to using this for school :)

I made the purchase, received a link to the Microsoft site. Chose my software. I received a setup file on my computer in the Download Folder. Word, Excel and Power Point downloaded to my computer automatically, and self installed. I pretty sure there are no program files other than that which were installed. Hopefully, if I develop a computer issue, the One-time purchase for 1 device will allow me to reinstall the software a new or repaired hard drive. So far, I haven't needed any Tech Support.

Mainly for letters and spreadsheets. Buying from Amazon makes it easy, just purchase and download then follow the instructions. What I feel was not fair to customers was I had already purchased the same product with Windows 8 but by Microsoft making the changes they did from Windows 8 to 10 (i.e. 32 to 64 bit system) they forced customers to purchase the new version for Windows 10 because the two systems were not compatible. Also Microsoft made the newer Windows 10 version less user friendly or I would say more difficult to navigate and I lost all the information I had saved from the previous versions. None of this affects the ease of dealing with Amazon. Amazon makes it easy. The overall rating 5 stars and easy to install of 5 stars are attributive to Amazon. The 1 an 2 star ratings are a direct flexion on Microsoft alone. I am very pleased I am very with Amazon.

I purchased, downloaded, and installed this product on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13"", Early 2015) having a 2.9GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB RAM memory, and running macOS Mojave version 10.14. Everything went without a hitch and took maybe 30 minutes total including ordering from Amazon. I already had a Microsoft account. All of the Office applications opened and worked fine. The first application that I opened I had to verify my purchase. I clicked on the button that came up and logged into my Microsoft account, nothing to it. I had to buy this version of Office because I was having some difficulty with Excel when I upgraded to Mojave. It still worked, just couldn't get any dropdowns in the ribbon to work. I actually thought I had Microsoft Office 2011 on my computer but when I went to my Microsoft account I saw that I had purchased 2016 for Mac. I couldn't get the version number high enough to meet the compatibility guidelines published. The only thing I can think of why some people are having trouble installing is that the Product Key listed at amazon.com is different from the Product Key listed in my Microsoft account. I never had to type in a key when installing my software. I guess it grabbed it automatically when I logged into my Microsoft account. So if you are asked for a key, I would use the one that is in the Microsoft account, not the Amazon account.

I think Microsoft Office is overpriced. And I dislike how it's only usable on one Mac, while most Mac software allows usage on multiple computers. But, unfortunately, Microsoft Office is the standard in the business world. Plus, I think Microsoft Word is the best word processor available for Mac.I had been paying $6.99/month for Office 365, but I decided I was tired of renting the software. So I purchased the Home and Office version. Thankfully, the installation went smoothly--that's why I am rating the software five stars. After the purchase on Amazon, I clicked the link on the Amazon website to go to Office.com. I already had an account on Office.com, so I logged in and the new purchase was already visible on my Office.com account. I then went through the steps to download the software. I thought I was going to have to activate the software with the product key, which Amazon had given me, but I never had to enter it and all the Office apps are working just fine.

I read alot of the 1-star reviews, and honestly it got me spooked about even buying this digital download after hearing so many horror stories of people not getting it to install properly after purchasing this. But I decided to give it shot anyway, because I really don't like Apple's Pages, Numbers, etc.Just to be on the safe side, I had my Microsoft account info ready before clicking buy (it was actually just my Xbox Live account info). Then after purchasing this it showed up in my Amazon Software library with the product key and a link to the Office website. The Office site link already had my product key inputted and I just signed in with my Microsoft account and pressed ""download apps"". From there everything downloaded and installed fine. I opened the full-versions Word, Excel, and Powerpoint for the first time and they prompted me to sign-in once to activate the software, after that the apps all open and close just fine like normal. I've also tried using my Office software without any internet connection and works like normal. This is the full-version and not some form of monthly subscription junk to keep up with, I have enough of those. Very happy! Also worth noting that my Office 2019 version DOES have the update to be fully optimized for M1 Macs! I was expecting to get some old initial version of Office 2019, but this update was released on Dec 15th, 2020 and my purchase does indeed have it.Hope this helps somebody!

I read the reviews and those 1-3 stars scared the dickens out of me. I'm really busy and I wasn't sure that I had the patience to download/troubleshoot this suite on my Mac (have been avoiding updating the OS because my MS apps needed to be updated first as a result of the 64 vs 32 bit encryption issue.) I tried to get the Apple store to do it--was going to pay them whatever--but they don't do that. So I bit the bullet and purchased the software and began the process. It was all over in less than 20 minutes. Probably less than 15. And you DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL your old version, by the way. Just read what's on your screen and follow the directions. And yes, the product key is on your purchase page on Amazon. That's where it is folks! It's there! Save it. And fear not.

Some caveats that maybe aren't 100% clear: You need to have or be willing to create an account with Microsoft in order to use this. Most people already have one, so it shouldn't be an issue. When you purchase this, Amazon will send you to Microsoft's site for the download. Once there, you log in with your Microsoft account. It will tell you something about installing Office365 at that time. Ignore that. Click through and you'll go to your Microsoft Services page which will show you everything your account has available. One of the things will be Office2019 and next to that will be an 'Install' link.Once I clicked Install everything was smooth. You will not receive any physical copy of your activation key. However, it is available both from Amazon and from Microsoft once purchased, so there shouldn't be a need for it. Despite all that, I recommend printing it out on something small and leaving it under your monitor or somewhere nearby ""just in case.""

I've used Word and Excel for years but had to replace older copies after installing Mojave on my Mac. The file, 1.6G, takes a while to download. After my Mac refuses to install it twice, I contacted live technicians at Microsoft. That is not easily accomplished, but they did an admiral job.

The last time I purchased a new version of Microsoft Office was when I bought my last laptop (in 2009!). This is the first time I purchased software that required a direct install without the use of a disk to do it. I read a bunch of the reviews prior to purchasing this and was apprehensive at first, but that was quickly put at ease. I recently bought a new laptop being Windows will no longer support Windows 7 come January and I had no intention of installing Windows 10 on a 10 year old laptop that wasn't even capable of playing my GoPro Hero 7 videos.I decided to take the chance and make the purchase. After the purchase there is a link to go directly to office.com. I clicked the link, it brought me to Microsoft's website where I signed into my account and then followed the instructions to download the software. After it downloaded, I ran the software, it asked me to sign into my Microsoft account again, and completed the installation within minutes without even needing to manually enter the product key (I'm assuming it synced the product key after signing into my Microsoft account). The entire process took no longer than five minutes from purchase until completely installed and ready to use.I had no issues and tested out each version of office after the install and they all work perfectly. I'm excited to finally be able to transfer my documents to my new laptop so I don't have to keep jumping back and forth between the two.

Hi all,First review on Amazon ever but I wanted to reach out to Mac users out there who were like me and realized Microsoft Word 2008 was not going to work with MacOS Mojave Version 10.14 at all. And if you were like me, you didn't want to pay a subscription fee every year. I had been living on borrowed time for years with an old Microsoft Word 2008 and just today it was crashing every time I tried to print. I updated to Mojave about a week ago. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro.The download steps were straightforward enough. I found the compressed files in my ""View Downloads"" and set to work. It all took less than 15 minutes. I didn't remove Microsoft Word 2008 from my computer because I was afraid I'd be left with no Word software at all. This didn't seem to bother the installation at all. I did get some error messages when I tried to login with my Microsoft account email (user id) and password for the first time using the software. It wasn't letting me edit, save or print files. I started to panic, but I just restarted my computer and it seems to be working fine.Wondering how long this version will last before I have to buy another update. I'm assuming it will be good for a few years? Anyways, I'm very pleased as going from my work's up-to-date Microsoft Word to my Chevrolet Chevette of Word was wearing thin.Best of luck!

I'm using this on a 2017 iMac. I haven't had MS Office on any of my Macs since 2004. I just was using Apple Pages, Numbers and Keynote. These all worked for me for a while until recently. I have been growing more and more frustrated with Pages and Numbers for the quirky way they would do things and how seemingly difficult and confusing getting to basic settings and formatting was. I've used Word and Excel on Mac and PC since the late 1980s and they have gotten better and better through the years. I use them in my day job on a PC so I knew how frustrating it is when I'd go and try and do personal stuff on my iMac and Pages and Numbers would just leave me irritated after a while. The purchasing and downloading process from Amazon was a breeze. It could be because I already had a Microsoft account created from when we bought an Xbox a while back, I think. I've had the account for a while so I knew I didn't have to worry about that. My recommendation is to create an account first and then do the purchase. I saw some reviews that maybe were indicative of some tech issues Microsoft had last year. I encountered no problems whatsoever. Installation was a breeze and at $95 net for Office Home and Student 2019 was a no-brainer. Costco sells this for $149 so I could not pass up the deal.

Based on the recent reviews, I was a bit concerned about the download process. It does take you to the Microsoft site to download the software. If you don't have a MS Account already set-up, I would recommend you set one up before purchasing and trying to downloading this product. After I purchased the product, it took several minutes for the order to be verified. This was the first time that ever happened to me on Amazon digital. But I think that delay was required to coordinate the amazon purchase with the MS website, because the payment method on the MS website is listed as ""Redeemed Code"", with a $0 cost. One thing I noticed was that the Product Key given to me on the Amazon site is different from the product key noted on the MS website when the software is installed. And while the software only includes word, excel, power point, and one-note, I think the install also installed trial versions of outlook, access, and publisher, but I think they were only trial versions. My install is on a new Dell computer. So far, the software works fine.

I have problems working with this product at first. Upon reading some of the comments, I realize that I didn't UNINSTALL the factory version of Microsoft (the one that already downloaded when you first buy your computer or laptop from the store). I decided to uninstall the old version then follow the instructions on how to download this product and it works! Just make sure that you have the product key and wait for Microsoft to ok the number 3 procedure, need to WAIT first (you need to do 1 to 3 procedure first before downloading this product, I think the number 2 is about your outlook email). Everything worked just fine. You do have to set up a Microsoft Account which I found to be a slight hassle. But, having done that, the download and installation went off without a hitch. My old version of Office was from 2010 and I feel better about being more up-to-date. Plus, the scrollbar in Word 2010 was highly annoying and would jerk from one page to the next. Word from 2016 onward completely solved that issue and scrolls only as directed by you!

Was stupid to only purchase the yearly subscription and naturally when that subscription expires, then you can only print off of Microsoft Word instead of type on Word. Microsoft Word is your all around go-to word processor for reports or anything in general especially when it comes to college or education. I had an account with Microsoft when I first downloaded Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and maybe another program without looking at the description of the first purchase and only needed the code (paid) to get my stuff back on again. Of course it wasn't that simple where I had to repeat that step several more times like I'm in a labyrinth to get to the correct links with the correct codes to get the support that I paid for again and I'm giving Tech Support only one star because of the other users that are having issues where it shouldn't be this complicated and it seems like they're lounging instead of doing something to help those people but it's business, I guess...

As of Feb 2021 - Downloaded for use on Mac:This download comes with MS Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote only. At the time of this review, although the download website and file says that a minimum of Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra is needed, that was not the case for me and 10.14 was required. Once the .pkg file was downloaded from the Microsoft website (which you will need to create a free Microsoft account for cloud tracking of all your Microsoft products), when it was launched a pop-up message prevents installation since OS 10.14 (Mohave) minimum is needed. Mohave is easy to download from the app store, or searching online for the correct link, and takes about 45 minutes to install. After that, launch the .pkg file, install MS Office 2019, and on first use login to your Microsoft account to validate the installation!

After reading excellent Amazon reviews on this software, I started by setting up a new Microsoft account, then purchased the 2019 download. I was going from a 64-bit 2011 to a 64-bit 2019 Office on an iMac. It took about 90 minutes for the software installation to come up for use. There are a few changes in the 2019 version, but nothing major e.g. using the copy format still takes just one click from a paint brush icon now on the far left of the home page. The ease of transfer to the new 2019 download was a big relief.

There are many third party websites out there that offer discounted keys for Microsoft Office and Windows 10. Their prices are certainly alluring, but I noticed when reading several of their product descriptions that most keys are for one-time installs only and will not support future updates. Of course, people are free to choose whichever supplier they want, but since I use Windows and Office every day I would prefer getting a legitimate key even if it costs a bit more because then you are safe in the knowledge you won't encounter any problems if you have to reinstall or run for updates.

Once payment went through, I was able to go to the Microsoft site and download immediately. Make sure you select the option to view the product code and write this down for future installs. Download was fairly quick, and once downloaded I started the install. This took about an hour or so on my slow machine, so I had to keep checking on the install process. But it finished up with just one install selection for the suite, and I now have all the Office apps I needed. The toughest part was logging into Microsoft - the rest was easy. If you don't have a Microsoft account, you'll be prompted to set one up. I don't love giving information to the big companies, but it's only an email and password setup. Use a password specific to this MS account, not one you use for your banking or where credit card or other info is stored. In fact, try to use different passwords and even user IDs if you can across all your logins. Don't you love having to remember all this stuff?

Best price I found for a standalone 2019 Microsoft Office for Home/Student use on my Mac. I purchased through Amazon Digital Services. It was a better price than at Microsoft, and the software was downloaded directly from the Microsoft website. It works great, and I was very happy to find an option to avoid paying for a subscription, as I don't use it often enough to justify the expense. My only complaint is that it's only a license for use on one device, when my 2011 Office for Mac allowed installation on two devices. But that's no different than buying directly from Microsoft. I just had to decide if I'll use it more on my laptop or desktop.

Purchased for Word, Excel and PowerPoint upgrade on my MacBook Pro (late 2012 version), which I recently updated to Catalina iOS. This update rendered my 32-bit Microsoft Office 2011 useless, something Apple had been warning me about for the past few iOS updates, but somehow which still came as a harsh reality. I could have purchased this same package from Microsoft (or many other vendors) for $150 instead I purchased through Amazon for $123. I also could have purchased the subscription version of this same package, which would keep it updated each year for an annual charge of $70. My needs don't require that, so I went with this one-time purchase.Reviews from Oct 2018 reviewers made me nervous to buy this package through Amazon, but the bit of $$ savings - and the fact that Amazon stood behind every purchase I've made through them - made me take the leap. Download is, indeed, through your Microsoft account, which you had to set up with any previous versions of Office. Also, the download took 45 minutes and only seemed to kick off in full force AFTER I deleted my Microsoft 2011. Some sort of conflict I had read about. Install took only ten minutes. Slick, smooth and problem solved for me.

I needed to purchase a new version of Office because my old one was downloaded too many times and really didn't want to spend $150. I looked at many different offers and read many different reviews but decided to go with a download directly from Microsoft so I wouldn't have to deal with being told the product key was fraudulent.I purchased this one and once the sale was final, a link appeared to download, I clicked the link and within 15 minutes Office was loaded on my new laptop and I was able to open all of my old files (from a flash drive). I have read many things about uninstalling previous versions before downloading the new one, but this is a new laptop so I didn't have that problem. This works great! I haven't used it too much yet so I am unsure of the newer features but I am sure I will be happy with my purchase for a long time.

I read a lot of the reviews and was a little nervous about whether or not this would work on my Mac mini M1 running macOS BigSur 11.1, but it worked no problem! I purchased and downloaded the from the digital software library within minutes of each other. You have to sign in/create a MS Outlook/Hotmail/Live account in order to download the package. I copied the product key from the digital library, but I did not need it. After I logged into the prompt from MS, it new my product key and allowed me to download. Once the download is complete, from when you first run through the install steps, and agree to the terms, it was about 5 minutes before I was able to launch the apps. When finished the install, the MS Office apps are in the launch pad, and they are activated automatically. This couldn't be easier!

So after reading numerous horror stories related to Amazon and MS Office install on my Mac, I put off downloading MS Office 2019 for Mac until now. While other software options are great alternatives, there are a few processes in MS Office that I felt I could not live without. The impending launch date of the new MacOs (64-bit only), however, weighed heavily on my mind, so I bit the bullet and took the plunge. Here is my experience: Painless process from beginning to end. Amazon's discount made it an obvious choice (no need to pay full price on MS site). Verification, for me, was instantaneous. In the email Amazon sent out immediately after purchase, I clicked on the link with took me straight to the the page leading to MS Office download. Sign-in to your MS account (if you are a MS Office user you already have an account, so no big deal - if not, create one in order to use) and simply follow on-screen prompts. A MS installer PKG will download. Once downloaded, simply click and again, follow prompts.4 APPS were quickly installed with NO hassles - Word, Excel, Powerpoint and One Note (Home and Student Version). First time to open one signs in with an MS account info and PRESTO, process over. I prefer to work alone so I signed out of my account, thus eliminating online features available for those who prefer the connected experience. In all, a FAST and PROBLEM-FREE install. If you are fearful, like I was, of interminable problems and hang-ups, well, I had NONE.

Office 2019 Home & Student installed INSTANTLY on my Mac with Catalina.I'm very glad, because I went through Hell last year when I installed Office 2016 (yes, 16) Home & Student on my other Mac with Mohave. Saw a lot of 1 star reviews but still decided to give it a try - installed no problem (just had to create a Microsoft account and link my email address with it). Total took about 30 minute to get it installed, but most of the time was just waiting. Would recommend the download version for anyone who wants to save $$ than buying directly with Microsoft.

The download and installation was seamless. i was a bit leary after reading the negative experiences, but I realized that I had to try it for myself. I made sure that I could log in to my Microsoft account BEFORE I attempted to download the software. I went to office.com, logged in using my Microsoft account and password, and clicked on ""Install Office"". I then typed in the Product Key provided by Amazon and downloaded the Installer file. After double-clicking on the installer file, Office installed successfully. I hope this helps someone. This was installed on a MacBook Air, Mojave 10.14.6

I'm another person on the list of heavily reluctant people to get this download from Amazon based on the reviews, however I'm very pleased to share that this was a cake walk! My cheap employer decided to take away our Office 365 home access (thanks a lot!) and so I was forced into getting this because Word, Excel, and Power Point are all necessities for my jobs as a manager as well as an educator. I uninstalled all the old Office software I had, restarted my computer, went into my software library here on Amazon, I clicked the link to ""Go to Microsoft Office,"" entered in my Outlook info, and verified my region. I didn't even have to enter the product code because Amazon takes care of that for you. And BOOM-I had my Microsoft Office ready to go after a very brief download time! I'm so pleased and relieved! I'm a tech-dummy and this was a breeze. Do not hesitate!

Since MS no longer supports window 7 and my laptop would spend 10 minutes booting up with windows updates every time I turn it on, I gave up on a perfectly good laptop and purchase a new HP with windows 10. Of course I had to buy the new version of Office so it is compatible with windows 10. Don't we just love the constance cash cow we have all become. I had been using a version of Office from back in the dark ages. It finally crashed. I guess I got my money's worth. the version was over 20 years old! I downloaded the new version. It only took a few minutes. Installation was easy. I found that using the new program was a little slower, because the format has changed and there is a small learning curve. After two days of using the program, I am comfortable with it. My only disappointment so far is that I was looking for a nice script font for Word for a document that I am working on, but could not find one among the myriad of fonts available.

Like some other reviewers, I was hesitant to make this purchase as quite a few customers had trouble downloading and/or installing this product and sometimes found there was not full functionality for some of the individual modules. I did not have any problems at all - the download and installation was straightforward and went without a hitch (though see paragraph below). Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote all have worked fine (though I really don't use the latter so can only really say it opened and allowed me to make entries). Can't say I'm delighted with the escalating price of this product, particularly as there are some fine open-source products that do, for my purposes, anything I want to do on the Microsoft products. But that was my choice for this round.I expected the download to come straight from Amazon, but as some reviewers have pointed out, you're redirected to a Microsoft site where the download process really begins. Amazon provided a product key for this product, but that key was NOT the same as that provided by Microsoft. I had both keys at the ready but planned to go with the Microsoft key when asked to enter it. However, I was never asked to enter a product key - that occurred automatically. I suspect that's because I have long had a Microsoft account and had signed into that account when prompted. Don't know whether that's why the whole process was easy for me. That should not be the case, but . . . .

I put the order in my Amazon cart, bought it and then followed the directions. You must have a Microsoft account and sign in. The software will be in your Amazon games and software area. Follow the prompts from there.I am 73 and female, not that it should make a difference but it should give heart to my fellow Oldes. You can do this.BTW, a new version is coming out - rumor has it - in 2021 and SUPPOSEDLY will integrate all the separate apps and be ever so much better. We'll see. I only bought 2019 because support (AS IF Microsoft has any worth its salt) and security updates had expired for my 2010 version.I hope the rumors about 2021 are true because the Microsoft Office suite is sorely needing an update. Antediluvian just won't cut it anymore. I don't expect it to be In Design but the software should have come a long way since I retired 20 years ago and it has barely budged as far as improvements much less innovation.

I digitally upgraded from my Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2010 version to the Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 version for my personal use on my home Windows 10 Pro HP Pavilion Computer. The download went smoothly without any problems, and quickly with the 32-bit version instead of the 64-bit version so as to be fully compatible with my 32-bit files. This 2019 version has some enhancements that are new, but with a little patience and careful reading it turns out to be quite enjoyable working great with Windows 10, especially with it working seamlessly with your Word and Excel files, unless you download the 64-bit version and expect it to work well with your 32-bit files. Be sure to copy and save your Product Key for future reference if needed in the future. The one-time cost was $129.99 for this version instead of paying an annual subscription to Microsoft for selecting the Office 365 version. That works out much better for me! Once it was installed, I found it in my Windows ""Start"" Menu, and created ""Shortcuts"" on my Desktop for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote (OneNote was already installed in my computer before I downloaded the new version) in my computer from the Microsoft site from Amazon.com. Overall, I very happy that I upgraded to the Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 version.

2021-02-14 Update:Still working without any problems that I can remember.Original:There seem to be a few reviews indicating the download did not work. There's also at least one indicating you can't open old Office files. I've only been messing around with this for a few minutes now, but I felt compelled to come and let you know neither of those is true...for me.As I just stated, I've tested opening old Office files so the download clearly worked. What I tested was an Excel file showing ""last modified"" in 2008 (probably Office 2003) and a Word file last modified in 2003 (but probably Office 97 based on when it was created). All I did was open them to make sure it worked. It took about 30-45 minutes for everything to download and install. There were no prompts for installation so that may be a bit upsetting for some. There may be a way to change the installation path or remove features you don't want after it has already installed, but I cannot confirm. The odd thing to me is that it installed itself in a folder under ""Program Files"" called ""Office 16"" when I clearly bought and am running the 2019 version. NBDWhat you might care about is that it seems to require a Microsoft account to install. That's how they track ownership of it. I already had one so it wasn't a big deal to me, but if you hate having one million online profiles and don't already have a Microsoft account, you may consider going with some alternative software (Google docs if you have a Google account?). It feels unnecessary to point out that going with Office365 will not get you around this...As I said, I've only had this up and running for a few minutes now so I will try to remember to come back and update this, if necessary. My main goal here was to counter the accusations that caused me to seriously hesitate when purchasing this.

I was concerned after reading the reviews about downloading problems, but mine went without a hitch. I have a MacBook Pro and the Mac version downloaded without issue. I was able to download the new version without first deleting my old existing version of Word. One thing to be aware of... the download isn't available immediately. For some reason, Amazon needs to check the validity of the order and my approval to download came via email about 50 minutes after I ordered it. Until then the download page said the verification was ""in progress"" or something to that effect. End result however is I have slick new versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint that work with Mojave. Very satisfied.

I was concerned about buying this through Amazon since several of the reviews indicated that they were not able to download the software or that this was the subscription version of Microsoft Office, not the download-onto-your-hard-drive version. In fact, this is the official Microsoft product and it's the one that you download onto your computer. Mine came with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Before I purchased this, I had an online chat with a tech specialist at Amazon, who confirmed the legitimacy of the product and that it was for download. If you're unsure before your purchase, you can have an online or telephone chat--Amazon will connect with a tech specialist and you can received the same info I did.

I changed from a 365 subscription to the student program. I was paying the annual fee for no good reason since I only use Word and Excel. The download seems to be the main issue other users have had. First, I uninstalled my old program. Secondly, I made sure I knew the password for my Microsoft email. Then I purchased the program and followed the links. Some people said they didn't need the key. That is probably because it automatically loads the key so they didn't notice it. The actual download was buried within a list of my old Microsoft software. It was not at the beginning, nor the end but mixed within the list. There was even a line between the description and the download. Next, I made sure I knew where set-up was being stored and made adjustments accordingly. And, last, installation. It took longer than expected but went smoothly. Done! All of my documents opened fine and I am happy. Hope this helps.

Looking at the number of 1 star reviews, you should have a certain amount of apprehension buying this product. I am pleased to report that based on my experience I believe those issues have been resolved. I was moving from Office for Mac 2011 for the same reasons other reported that it was no longer playing nice with Mojave.I did glean from many of the reviews that deleting prior versions of MS Office would be a good idea and I did so. I was able to download the product from the link that Amazon provided. It is a 3 GB file, so depending on your download speed you might expect this to take awhile. Mine completed in less than 10 minutes. Then clicking on the install button started the process and in another 10 minutes that was completed. When launching the product for the first time, MS forces you to login to your MS Account to verify the product key and then leaves you alone. I tried to do updates and was pleased that MS provided the latest updates when the product was being downloaded, as there were no updates available.I am sure there are new features to figure out, but you should not have any trouble banging a letter out as you used to in your prior version of MS Office.

I am not sure why this was causing problems for others that purchased but I did not experience any issues. After purchasing, you will need to access the download from My Account section - Digital Content and Devices - Games and Software. During the initial setup, you will need to Continue to Office.com where you will need to create or sign into a Microsoft account, then enter your product key when prompted, then you will have access to download and install on your computer. I just recommend that if you purchase Microsoft Office that you read through the customer reviews and questions and answers BEFORE downloading. Other reviews have said they had to wait a couple of days before they could download the files. In my experience, it was just a few minutes. Having read those other reviews, I was all concerned that I'd be waiting a long time, so it was a relief when it was only a few minutes. But I don't understand why there is any delay. Maybe it has to do with communication between Amazon and Microsoft since you ultimately download the files from Microsoft. What you get from Amazon is the registration key (which is easy to copy and paste to validate the installation).

I am a semiprofessional writer. I’ve tried using various open office suites, but none of them are as compatible with other programs as good old Word. I also have several spreadsheets I have kept over many years and translated into various open office programs that will be glad to get back to Excel. Buying this 1 person download was cheaper than 18 months’ rental of the program, particularly with the Amazon discount. I can easily open decades old files with this program. It was an easy download. Haven’t needed tech help. The help function in Word is very good. This version does not include the free cloud sharing, which is fine with me. Only downside is the expense. I wish I had bought this program a year ago, when I bought my new laptop. I had been under the impression you had to rent Office, and resented doing that.

Super smooth, easy and fast download and install. The Word, Excel, and Powerpoint programs are as expected and run well. Can't speak to tech support. I did note some people had problems with the download and install. Pretty sure these issues are not the program's fault, and are related to 1) slow internet connection 2) slow computer, and 3) maybe an old unupdated OS. I only have 20 Mbps dsl, though my W10 laptop is core i7 10th gen 8gb ram. I'd think Office would run fine on core i5 10th gen, but below that who knows. As long as you have reasonably decent gear, I think you can safely ignore 1 star reviews-- they're user issues.

I suggest taking similar steps to the ones I took if you own a macbook and you know your old 32 bit technology Microsoft office will no longer be working on the new 64 bit Catalina updateStep 1. backed up all my excels (word. etc. ) to outside drive as well as icloud drive, just in caseStep 2. deleted my existing Microsoft office ( hard to make yourself delete it, but I read on some blogs that it may cause an issue having a new version of Microsoft while still having the old one) (+ plus new macOS Catalina would probably send you unnecessary error messages that this 32 bit Microsoft program can't run ..etc)Step 3. downloaded the new Catalina OS on my macbook pro (took 2 - 2.5 hours)Step 4. purchased Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 Download 1 Person Compatible on Windows 10 and Apple macOSStep 5. clicked on the purchase link email Amazon sent me to start downloading Microsoft office ...during the download process it asks you to create a microsoft account or sign in with existing one (p.s. SKYPE is considered a Microsoft account since they purchased it from Ebay back in 2011) ...I used my skype log in info, it still needed an extra verification, by a way of sending an email to the email associated with my skype account, ...I clicked on the link, and then Microsoft office started downloading, ...couple of simple questions through the download process, ...(ex. do you want it downloaded on macbook hard drive, or if somewhere else, indicate where...) ...or do you want things stored on microsoft drive (their version of icloud I presume...) etc (one final note, if you want to use skype login for Microsoft installation, I suggest logging out of skype on whatever device you are using, logging back in beforehand, to make sure your password is correct, and check your profile to see what email you got associated with it, ...you do not want to be fishing for this information and plugging in random passwords during the download process, and have microsoft think that it's not a verified ""Microsoft"" account...

I was quite alarmed when I read a lot of the reviews, including those citing download problems and those pertaining to backward compatibility. I was desperate, though, because Word 2008 for Mac kept repeatedly crashing, none of my attempts to resolve it worked, and I needed to get back to work. I'm happy to report that everything went down without a hitch. I received my download link from Amazon within 5 minutes, quickly registered on the Microsoft site, and the download was completed in about 5 minutes. The installation took even less time, and I didn't bother deleting the old software, but that didn't cause any problems. So far I have been able to even open .doc documents that were created with Word 97. The new interface is nice, and so far there have been no crazy changes that impede my productivity. I just jumped in where I left off with Word 2008. I haven't restarted yet, so I'll see if my documents from my previous session do not automatically open, which is a feature I rely on (and one reviewer said doesn't work). I'll miss the feature if it's gone, but at least I'm back to work.

I bought this originally for a Windows 7 machine. Found out after I activated the software that this would not work on Windows 7. I then had purchase a copy of Office 16 to be able to get my customer up and running. Just a heads up. The software itself it great. The download from Amazon and its purchase went extremely well. However, after that with Microsoft, things got unnecessarily complicated: had to get an active chat with one of its techies in order to get an email that allowed the purchase software to be entered could not just log into my Microsoft account and find anywhere to activate the software the Microsoft agent had to send me an email that allowed me to do so. Consequently, the activation instructions from Amazon were inadequate/inaccurate in terms of activating with Microsoft the software package that I purchased from Amazon. So it would be helpful if an Amazon rep could coordinate this effectively with Microsoft. No doubt Microsoft, being Microsoft, has some reason to make this more difficult, such as preferring that purchasers have to purchase a ""leasing"" fee arrangement rather than a one-time purchase system. The software that I purchased, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 Download 1 Person, did not even show up on Microsoft's site, making any simple activation impossible--or at least I couldn't find it in any of the site's software upgrade packages. So the purchase with Amazon was simple activating the package was an entirely more annoying, and unnecessarily so, process.

It's ease to download & install. And it just works, year after year no annual subscriptions needed. I don't really need Outlook (I use Gmail), Access or Publisher. This is just the Big 3 at a great price. The software currently uses only about 8.6 gb of storage.

The product downloaded and worked fine for me. Note:1) I uninstalled the office 360 (non registered) as others suggested. Don't know if it mattered, but I did that.2) Download was easy I did have to sign in to my microsoft account but it had it there waiting, no hassles.3) Old files open no problem. When you save them, it updates to the new format.4) I can save files to my computer. In short, $125 instead of a monthly/yearly fee and it works fine.

Brought a new laptop and needed a one version MS Office so I got online with Amazon and purchased it for $125. I've always used MS Office on all my computers (and my wife's laptop too) and I believe this was the FIRST time that I did not need to key in that rather long product code. I just got on the MS website for Office and through my Amazon purchase, I was able to download the product seamlessly and without ANY issues. I was done in like 5 minutes or so. Wow, was I surprised...absolutely NO ISSUES.

Instantaneous download. You pick up the software at your amazon software library immediately after purchase. Click takes you to Microsoft. Download was stuck in ""getting PC ready"" for quite sometime until I figured out I needed to delete the office 365 trial that was loaded on my PC. Once I did then download was very quick and is working great. Only complaint is that Microsoft site should have stated that. But of course, they don't want you to delete their 365 subscription service.

I needed this new version because I was unable to find a way to add 3D objects in Home and Student 2016. This was needed for an online college course

I struggled with Vista for years (seemed like a century) and finally went to Window 7. I did it clean (formatted my C drive) so it took a while but it was well worth it. Everything works just fine now.

For this product to work you have to have a microsoft account. I had to make another account for this to work, so beware. Follow the instructions on REMOVING the files in Finder for Macs (excel, power point, word) to trash. Then download the microsoft apps for office 2019. the product will work, and get rid of the alert for microsoft purchase only at their web site... BS.

I purchased winodows 7 ultimate upgrade and a few months after owning it I bought a new computer so I called microsoft to see if I would need to change the key as I had with XP after changing hardware. They walked me through the entire install process. But when it asked me about partitions microsoft just had me blow away all partitions and use the free space. I never had to use the windows XP disc to do a full install. So this got me to thinking maybe I can install my old XP O/S on a diffrent computer since the XP O/S and the Windows 7 ultimate install disc or windows 7 O/S knows nothing about each other. So I called up Microsoft today and I asked them if I can install the O/Ss on seperate machines even though I only have the upgrade Disc. They told me that as long as I have the retail version of XP that there is no problem. So what the heck is the point of having a full version and an upgrade version at two diffrent prices. I'm a little paranoid of this so I'm calling microsoft back tomorrow to verify. Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade

Upgraded to Windows 8 a few weeks back and after it's many fails and bugs decided to go back to Windows 7. Will be sticking with 7 until Microsoft comes out with another OS besides Windows 8.

I upgraded from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. My computer was so bugged up it was getting slower than dial-up. I was just going to re-install Vista, but figured as long as I was going to have to go through all that hassle, may as well do an upgrade. I am no computer genius, but this isn't too hard to do. Took about 15 minutes. A couple of tips.... Microsoft has a free program that you can download and it will check your computer and tell you exactly what programs you have that you may have to delete to make it work (in my case, some Dell garbage), tell you what version you can install, etc. Check their website. This helped me a lot. There is a tech support phone number that you can use if you get stuck. I didn't need it, but it was good to know it was there. I read a lot of reviews on this site before I started, there are a lot of knowledgeable folks out there with all sorts of tips. I also found this program cheaper on another site, so shop around. Unusual, Amazon is usually the best place to get stuff, but make sure you buy the ""retail"" version. If your computer is older, like mine, and it finally dies, you should be able to re-sell it and get some of your money back. 7 is way nicer than Vista. Everything seems faster it's just nicer and easier. My computer is 5 or 6 years old, but it now seems like I just brought it home from the store.

Order arrived ahead of schedule. Hooked computer up to the internet followed the MS Win 7 upgrade instructions and it all worked without a hitch on a Vista 64-bit laptop upgrade.Ultimate allows you to create a ""virtual XP machine"" within your desktop so some of your older critical non-Vista-Win7 software will work.Great stuff.Thank God they got rid of Vista......!

Good vendor, good delivery and good price. What else is there to say other than I recomend purchasing the Ultimate version vs. the lower versions and check your system's compatability using the Microsoft utility to find which version works best for your machine. Surprisingly, the results, of the compatability checker vary from PC to PC and you can save yourself some grief by running this simple app before purchasing the upgrade.

I used PC Mover to facilitate the upgrade and it, and the upgrade, worked like a charm. It's early, but everything I had is working faster and better than before, and I'm no longer limited by programs that could not work with 64bit XP.

If you're not ready for the Windows 8 plunge, why bother! If you have a system with even just middle of the road horsepower, do you really care if your web browser snaps open a few milliseconds faster?
