MTB Black is the all around ball for any player. Soft feel, distance and control are widely proclaimed from many golf ball manufacturers but Snell has solidified their claims in the MTB ball. As a passionate player and student of golf, I have tested and played a magnitude of golf balls. Snell has developed a low cost very high performing golf ball that is and in most scenarios out performs the premium ball main stays of the golf ball market. I was like most of the masses that played Titleist ProV as my ball for years but I started testing the market from working at a top resort course. I quickly realized the potential and importance of choice get the right equipment for my game. I worked hard and open minded through all manufacturers of golf balls to find “The One”. The Snell MTB Black was “The One”. The consistency in ball flight, workability and control were above any other ball not to mention the feel from tee to cup beat out any other ball. So do yourself a favor, purchase the Black/Red combo pack to find yourself “The One”. Especially if your part of the Wool Over the Eyes Culture.... become a wolf and not the sheep.

After 3 rounds I can say this is the best feeling and performing ball I’ve played. That includes tour brands costing $15 more per dozen and other internet sold brands claiming to be tour performance balls at better prices. The MTB Black goes long with minimal spin off the driver but has plenty of green grabbing spin off short irons and has a pleasingly soft feel. I’m sold on Snell!

After months of trying different non-big brand golf balls, I finally found out about Snell Golf and split the Test Pack with a buddy of mine. I liked the Red, but found that the Black just felt better. So yeah, I found my ball. Excited to play them, every time.

If your looking for a high spin ball, this is the ball you want. I played my first round with them today and will never buy another ball. I was hitting low check shots from 10 yards off the green in the deep rough. This ball is a ""one hop stop"" ball. I was hitting a 56 from 50 yards and having the ball hit twice then back up a little bit. The wind had virtually no effect on the ball. Tee to green this ball is a high spinning, all around Game improvment ball.

I tried both the red and black. Love them both, but ended up with the black because it felt a little less spinny off the driver. Recently played 77 consecutive holes with the same ball before finally losing it in the woods. It still looked brand new and performs better than anything I've played.

For the past year, I have been trying to come up with a reason to continue to use ""name brand"" golf balls. On TV, at your local course and in print media, it's hard to ignore the hype and get to the real issue. That is, what ball works best. After narrowing the field to two, the MTB Black and a brand now used by a former No.1 player, I've used both for several weeks. I've found the MTB Black to be as long, or longer, as straight, or straighter and the Snell has better bite on the green. It also feels right off the driver and irons. The lower price is icing on top. If I thought paying less for the Snell was costing strokes, I'd pay more but it's not. The MTB Black, for me, is just plain better. Regardless of the cost. Thanks, Snell. Keep up the good work.

I'm a 14 HC, with a SS of 110-115. I play on average once maybe twice a month. I was hoping the Red would win, I like the yellow easier to see and find. But, the Black was the ball for me. The black was longer on all full shots and flew straighter. I have a high ball flight and spin the ball pretty good so couldn't tell much difference between the two. Both checked well on chip shots and were easy to control. Full approach shots were also very similar, both balls one hopped and stopped or sucked back a bit. Putting, I liked the Black slightly better, it did feel a touch softer and I felt I had better feel with it. The decision came down to the color yellow (Red), or the ball I hit a bit Longer and straighter (Black). Pretty easy decision, MTB Black is the ball for me. I was playing the Maxfli U/6X, I liked it. It was inexpensive and played comparable to the high end tour balls. but Maxfli quit making it. I refused to pay $50 dollars per/dozen, but also refuse to play cheap rock hard balls. So glad I wasn't a snob and gave Snell a try. I would definitely recommend buying the trial pack and see which ball works best for you. I will be ordering a 6 pack of MTB Black soon. Great price on a great ball!

The Get Sum is a ball that fit my game perfectly, they fly straight and still are good around the greens on chips and pitches. I played the blacks and the reds as well but found I had a hard time out of the tee box and with fairway woods with them both (due to the imperfections of my swing).. Unless you have the control and consistency to use a 4-piece ball, the get sum is a no brainer 2-piece ball !!! I bought the 6 pack and will be stocking up on more... I think Ive found my lifetime ball.

I'm a 10 handicap with mid-90's swing speed. I really like the feel of this ball as well as the performance (ball flight & spin). It's got a soft feel off clubs & the putter. Best of all you can purchase the balls for a reasonable cost. I think I've gone through 8 or 9 dozen so far. Definitely my favorite.

Look, I'm not a pro by any means, but when I hit this ball on approach shots, you'd think you were playing with Tiger Woods with the amount of spin I got with this ball. I've played PV1x for quite some time now, and never got it to spin the way I did this ball. There is a definite tack to this ball that you feel immediately removing it from the sleeve. I gotta say, I like the tackiness feel, but I like the color and dimples on the MTB Black better. Both Red & Black are Tour quality balls and you should test both before you decide which one is best for you.

I am a long tome Snell golf ball user. Recently switched to the MTB RED with incredible positive results. Ball flight is straight, getting 10 yards additional distance with irons and 25 yards from the tee. Less spin off the tee giving me a straighter ball off the tee. Recently had a Hole-in-One using an 8 iron into 10 mph wind for a 124yard par 3. MTB RED pierced the wind and took straight flight behind the flagstick and disappeared into the cup. I am sure the ball had something to do with the outcome. If you haven't tried these golf balls you are wasting your $$$. I buy the 6 dozen ech year and could not be happier. You have to ""get some"".

Played my first round with the MTB Black. I was blown away. Very long and straight off the tee and my approach shots stuck like no other ball I have played with this distance. Felt very soft off the putter which I like too. Broke 80 for the first time in several years since I don't get to play much these days. I would highly recommend this ball to players of any ability.

I had heard of the ball a while back when someone I was paired up with mentioned to me about the company and Dean Snell. I recently purchased the MTB Black since I usually play the ProV1X. I joined a local city tournament and tied for 1st gross and won 1st net score as well using this ball for the first time, no joke. I was averaging about 320 off the tee with my driver and had plenty of long iron, mid iron and wedge shots that reacted as needed and consistently what I expect from a tour quality ball. Many short range wedge shots (60,70,80 yards) all had the stopping power needed to be precise and help me score. Lastly, the feel on the putter head was perfect and the ball rolls very well. At just about half the price of a ProV's, Snell has become my #1 ball and I always recommend this ball to my friends. Thank you guys for providing such a quality product, we all appreciate it!

Just returned from a trip to Georgia and South Carolina where we experienced a good mix of Golf Clubs. Used the MTB Red and loved the performance. Really good around the greens and very durable ball. We are from Southern California where the greens are a different type of grass. Felt very comfortable using the Ball wherever we played came back home and picked up right where we were before.

I've played the MTB Red and Black and while they are long I have a tendency to miss left with them. The Get Sum ball is super long and straight. It gives me a ton of confidence on long par 5's that have hazards on the left side. You can rip these balls I'm constantly longer than everyone that I play with and I swear it is the ball.

I have been buying Snell balls for about 3 1/2 years. I started with my tour balls and switched to the MTB Black when the black and red were launched. I play this ball for multiple reasons but primarily because it is the best ball on the market. I am a 7 handicap and this ball will do everything a pro V1 will do and more. It seems to carry farther and I can spin it better on the greens. I give away probably a dozen balls every month because people are so curious once I explain that the guy who designed their ball is the same guy. It cracks me up but I have only had 1 guy who didn’t agree after he hit them. I am really glad Dean is finally getting the recognition for just how good these balls are! Great ball, great people, I won’t play anything else!

I have played ProV1x for about 10 years now. I have tried a couple other balls in the past (Bridgestone B330-RXS, Chrome Soft and NXT Tour) to lower my expense of $48.00 a doz. But nothing ever performed like a ProV1. So I always ended up going back to the ProV1x and paying the $48. I tried the Snell MTB Black after seeing some reviews on YouTube. I bought them for a 3 day golf trip with 23 buddies. They all made fun of me for using a ball that they have never heard of. LET ME SAY, they aren't laughing now. The ball performs as well as a ProV1. On 6-iron to Wedge, the ball stops within about a foot or two of the pitch mark and holds. On my 52 & 60 deg wedges, the ball spins back about 8-10 feet. At a price of $32 a dozen, this is exactly the ball I have been looking for. Thank you Dean Snell.

Read lots of comments /reviews and ordered 6 reds and 2 black ltds No regrets! 22 hc and first round shot 90 second round 86(lowest in a year. I played the same ball 18 holes and retired it to water ball pocket Second round played it 17 holes and oddly the hole I used an old ball afraid of water I tripled-wonder what if I hadn’t switched on that hole maybe 84? I love the Snell red and teeing up a ball that I know will stop on the green where I hit it from 125 yd and closer is giving me the confidence to improve my game and enjoy golf again Thanks Mr Snell and all of you that posted comments that led me to the right choice (this review replaces the one I sent a week ago and hope this helps all the 15-20 h c golfers out here)

Like the title says, I'm picky about which golf ball I play. Early in the year, I decided to try some Snell MTBs to see what all the hooplah was all about.I tried both the MTB Red and then the Black. Both of these balls I felt matched up to the top balls being played on tour which is what I had been playing for years. Hands down, Snell MTB is the best bang for the buck in the Tour golf ball market today. All of boxes are checked for Spin when you need it, feel, and distance off the Driver. I would recommend the Snell golf ball to anyone who like me, takes the performance of their golf ball seriously.

I had purchased the Black & Red test pack a few months back, but decided to get the shanks and pretty much lost most of those balls without really seeing the abilities the golf balls had. So, I fixed the shanks and decided to try again. This MTB Black pretty much stopped on a dime using 6-iron thru Lob Wedge. Now if I could just get my distance control down I might be dangerous. I really recommend you test both Black & Red.

I have been playing the Snell Tour ball and then the MTB ball for the last 2 1/2 years. Great Ball! I was a long time Pro VX player, and the Snell MTB matches up to it wonderfullly. The biggest reason I starting playing this ball was it was almost half the price of the Pro V. I still think the lettering and the finish of the Titleist Ball is slightly more appealing, however performance and price win over. Snell ball user for life!

I have tried many different balls and to date have not found one that performs and is cost effective. This ball does it for me. My drives seem to fly straighter and the ball is noticeably longer with all of my clubs. I have never been able to spin a ball like this. My scores are improving along with my confidence. Best of all, at around $2 / ball it doesn't hurt so much when I hit that dreaded -hook / slice / push / pull whatever, into the - woods / water / neighboring houses..... As good as any premium ball I have tried.I am very happy.

15 Handicap—Been playing the red and black for about six months. Both great balls. The reds are a lot of fun around the greens. The spin is unreal and gives you confidence with all types of recovery shots. The blacks probably perform a little better in the wind and are longer for me off the tee. I’m sold. The hand written thank you note from Mr. Snell on the receipt is a nice touch.

Played with both the red and black today and have to say I really liked them both but liked the red a little more. Distance off the driver was exactly the same as my TP5 but my iron shots were a little longer, not much just a little. Wedge performance was exactly what I would expect my wedges to do and felt the same off the putter. All things considered this is kinda a no brainer, why pay more for a ball just as good.

I am extremely pleased with the MTB Black. I purchased a test pack with both the MTB Red and MTB Black. I was originally thinking that the 4 piece MTB Red would be best for my game, but after trying both balls I kept going back to the MTB Black - it just seemed to work and feel best for me. Interestingly, I checked both balls with ProCheck and sure enough, the MTB Black matched my swing speed best. Keep up the great work!

I bought the MTB Black and Red to see which I liked best. I would say that the Black is most similar to the Pro-v, which I usually prefer to play. The MTB Red is probably more in line with the Titleist NXT. The Red is a very good ball, but I prefer the slightly softer feel of the Black around the greens.Great products, just depends your preferred feel, which usually depends on the speed of the greens you are playing. Faster greens may dictate the Black over Red

8 handicap , was using ProVx, and Callaway Chrome up until 2 years ago. At that time I tried the test dozen and found the get sum was the ball I decided to use. The only problem was my shots to the green were not sticking, so I played them a little short. This year I tried the red and it is fantastic ball, I love it. I play about 50 to 60 rounds a year and this ball is as good or better than any that I have used, what a deal for half the money. I have introduced this ball to many of my friends giving them a sleeve and several have changed from a big name ball to Snell. Either way, the price is great for a high quality ball, whether you like a 3 or 4 piece ball. I tried the MTB Black first for a couple of rounds and really enjoyed the feel and quality of the ball. However, when I tried the MTB Red I felt that I actually played better with it. Either way, I'll be in the market for more in 2019!

My handicap is an 8.6, and like many people, I just couldn’t find a better, more confidence-inspiring ball than the ProV1 or ProV1X. But the distress over loosing one, or taking the shots over water, always played with my mind. Then my golf coach told me about the original MTB’s, and I was really surprised! Now with the MTB Black, I’ve completely switched and am stocked up with the value pack. The Snell MTB Black actually gets my driver out there where my younger stronger playing partners are getting outdriven when I do my part and connect, and the spin is perfect on the irons, one hop and stop, sometimes backing up a few feet. Putter feels perfect, too. And with the holiday pricing on the value packs, it’s an absolute best value! Not demeaning Titleist in any way, they make great products across the board, but I do love supporting the little guy and being different (and longer!) on the course! I am a 2 hdcp player that has played either the Taylor Made TP5 or the Pro V1 for years. I bought two trial packs to take to Arizona to play this week thinking that I try them out, but if I hit a few errant tee balls into the desert - might as well save a few $. I came away very impressed with these balls. While I liked both, I am leaning toward the red due to the cover and spin characteristics. I absolutely found there to be no difference between these balls and the ones I have always played. Ball flight was consistent, feel was solid and short game feel was quite good. I would definitely buy more for my next trip and am likely to buy some to play at my club as well. If they perform the same and cost less, why not????

Recommended by my son who thought I could still hit a high quality ball at 61 years old.. Bought the Black/Red trial pack but found the MTB Red spun too much and I drove it shorter. Love the distance and straightness of the Black. Still trying to dial in the spin near the green. Very pleased, just bought 2 more dozen with the Black Friday discount.

I bought a box of the yellow style and so far I love them. For my eyesight I only play yellow although liking this brand so much I bought a box of the MBT Black to give away a sleeve to my friends to try. I have not noticed any lost in distance while the ball seems to have better control. Sticks well on the green with a good feel while putting. For the price and free shipping they have a customer now for as long as I can play.

Hands down, the MTB Black is THE best ball I have used. I used to be a Bridgestone guy, but ever since testing the original MTB when it came out and now the new MTB Black, I won't consider any other ball. Do yourself a favour and play these balls.

The MTB Black ball is the best golf ball on the market in my opinion. The spin, peak height, and distance is ideal. Compared to the rest of the tour balls on the market, this is hands down the best ball for the price.

I have been playing the MTB ball for three years. I love it’s durability. This year I have had two Hole-in-Ones using the Snell MTB ball. I still have 2 dozen of the old MTB balls left and have started with 2 dozen of the MTB Black. There is not a better ball out there on the market. Great Price, outstanding ball action off the club face and a super durable ball. What else could you want.

Bought a dozen of the MTD Black for a trip to South Carolina over Thanksgiving. Played them exclusively for the first time and was impressed with distance and control. I feel my driver misses aren’t as severe and I’m definitely hitting it farther. Around the green I didn’t notice any loss of spin. Great feel from a great ball.

I tried all Snell balls but have found the Red fits me the best. Balls feels soft off the club, has ample spin for shots around the greens and nice feel for putting. After a year of going thru ProV1’s, Bridgestone and other major brands, the Reds have performed the best for me. Price is a bonus but decision was based on quality.

I saw a few articles about Snell golf balls and was intrigued by Dean Snell’s history in developing some of the leading golf balls in the industry. So I ordered a sample pack of Blacks and Reds. I was convinced the Snells were as good as my Titleist ProV-1s. After a few rounds, I ordered several dozen, going with the MTB Blacks. My friends kid me when they see the Snell logo on my ball but I am sold on the quality and value of Snells and I expect a few of them will be converts before long.

Preference has always been a popular name brand ball until a fellow Club member gave me a sleeve of the new MTB Black to try in November 2018. Loved it, searched on line was impressed by the reviews, price and shipping, if one buys more than a few dozen. Been playing with the MTB since without any regrets as it is a great ball and will be gift wrapping a few dozen Pro Vs that I have left as Christmas gifts for my die hard buddies and giving a few sleeves to my regular golfing buddies so they can also experience the difference.

I have been using Snell balls for a about a year and a half. I had heard of them and by chance found one on the course. So I played it and liked it a lot. I was playing Srixon Z-Star balls, at the time. The ball I found was an MTB Black. Great ball worked as well as my Z-star around the green and off the tee. Then when the MTB Red came out I tried that and like it even more because it worked a bit better around the greens. Both the Black and the Red putt well and if I didn't know which ball I was using I wouldn't be able to tell them apart when putting. I bought my friend a box of the MTB Red, yellow balls at the same time I bought mine. He has been using them for over a month now and is planning on giving up his current ball and go to the Snell MTB Red ball. As long as the price stays reasonable for the Snell balls I will keep playing them. The MTB Red plays as well if not better than any of the high end balls on the market. No complaints here.

Been playing the MTB black since they came out. Ordered 1 dozen the first day in March when they came out. Reordered 6 dozen after that. Performance is great, ball reacts on the green with short pitches and short irons extremely well. Mid irons also good. Driver distance I find to be a little shorter than the old MTB but the penetrating ball flight of the MTB black keeps the ball down the center of the fairway with little dispersion and more roll out than the old MTB. Lastly, I recorded my first hole in one with the MTB black this year....136 yards using a pitching wedge.thank you Dean.

My 24 year old Grandson plays the Black version. (3 years club champion at his course) As a golf course manager's could play any ball but really liked and played the Srixon 4 piece ball.XV. He recommended I try the Red but, being happy with my choice I researched before buying. Amazing ball and the spin from short irons is Phenomenal. Nicely the lack of spin from the driver keeps hooks or slices to a minimum. Great pricing as it matches my former P.U.D. cost of my prior ball. Try it you too will be happy with this ball

I play with group of guys which play all over west Michigan. where I was introduced to these golf balls. I have used all three models and found for mu game at 70 that the three piece ball (black) works best for me. That are great off the tee and sweet around the green. Couldn't ask for a better ball for the price. Will be giving some out for Christmas this year. I would suggest that you try all three and zero in on the one which best matches your game. and was introduced to these

After my first 27 holes with the new MTB Black I thought it was just me swinging well. Now after playing 45 holes, I know its the ball. The low controllable trajectory with the driver is something I've looked for for a long time. For me, the control 110 yards in is still great like the original MTB (the ball I've been playing for years). It's incredible how fast my scores lower when I know my Tee ball will be playable. I have no reason to try the Red, I found my ball. Well done Dean.

I first purchased 2 dozen MTB, but quickly realized after playing 2 rounds that these in FACT were the real deal. Purchased an additional 3 dozen just because of the fact they do what they say. With mid to short irons, when they hit the green, they will STOP. Golf is becoming a far more expensive endeavor. Those of us that are retired and healthy enough to enjoy this beautiful game have to deal with the growing expense of being able to play it. It is difficult to justify losing $5 every time you hit an errant shot, many of us are not great golfers, but some of us are still single digit handicappers. We enjoy playing the best possible equipment and ball that we can. The Snell balls are equal to and better than any ball out there. When you talk cost and performance there is none better. I've tried them all over my 68 years of life and the best bang for the buck is SNELL.

I'm a scratch golfer in Atlanta, Georgia I normally play the Pro V1S and Bridgestone B330S I came across the Snell (MTB Black) ball a year ago through my Dentist who gave me a sleeve to try I played the sleeve by alternating rounds with both the Pro V1 and Snell I was really impressed by how the Snell ball performed same distance off the tee as Pro V1 and excellent feel around the green I thought the feel when putting with the Snell was similar to Pro V1 Most guys I play with had never heard of Snell, but now they know the best kept secret in golf balls I'm a big fan of the ball I was concerned about quality control (is every batch consistently made and measured?) Dean Snell assured me that the company takes every measure to assure quality in the manufacturing process. If you want to save a few bucks (actually a lot) and get a quality golf ball you can't go wrong with Snell.

This is a great winter ball. Every bit as long as the pro v under 50 degrees and a great feel around the greens. Can't wait to try it in Palm desert in February to see how far it carries and spins in the warmer climate. I did notice when the temperature got over 55 degrees the ball just jumped off the club face. I had to adjust my club selection. No problem holding the greens nor with the feel. I started with the MTB black but like the feel of the MTB red better around the greens. I would recommend either ball as a replacement for the Pro V.

I decided to take a chance on the MTB golf ball after reading the bio on the inventor. I usually play high end balls like the ProV1, the Bridgestone Tour, etc. This ball opened my eyes quite a bit when I put it into play. Long off the tee was the first notice. Very long. Also, I had less spin on my ball of the tee meaning I was able to keep it in the short grass much more consistently. Very pleased with that. Also, the ball is very durable. I am not a pure striker of the golf ball yet it keeps itself together very well. I can use a ball for more than one round if I chose to. Best of all, the price. This golf ball is priced fairly. It will be the ball I play from now on. The guys were laughing at me whent they saw Snell. No kidding. They did not read up on it like I did. I outdrove them all day and hit it longer than ever. I am very comfortable with this ball now. I love it. I love the price. Its as good as anything out there IMO.

I have always avoided paying premium prices for golf balls. To this point I have been buying 4A, 5A grade used Pro V1's, Chrome Soft, etc. After purchasing and playing with Snell MTB Black and Red golf balls, I will be buying new from now on. I have found the Snell Red to be what works best for me. Distance off the tee is the same for me, and having the advantage of a bit more spin with the 4 piece Red model, I can get a little bit more hop and stop on the greens. Mind you I don't really put a lot of spin on the ball (rarely does the ball draw back at all), but I seem to be able to stop the ball a little quicker with the Red. But I'd play either any time and I will certainly play Snell golf balls as long as it continues to be value priced. It performs as good as anything, and I mean ANYTHING out there.

While I usually play the MTB Black for what seems like extra distance, I decided to give the MTB Red balls a try. Very pleasantly surprised with the distance compared to the MTB Black and they seem to have a higher spin rate for extra stopping power on the greens. Putting with this Red ball gives a very soft feel that I like and chipping also has a softer feel than the Black. I'm not a high spin player so I probably don't generate tremendous spin with the red, but they do seem to spin more than the black. I don't see a tremendous difference between the two varieties and would recommend any of these models. It really boils down to personal preference of soft (MTB Black) vs a little softer feel (MTB Red). When you factor in the performance and cost, there isn't any doubt for me that they are the best golf balls in the high performance golf ball market.
