I played the old version ( I just checked the box) of the MTB and can't say I was surprised at well the ball performed. I was very pleased that it lived up to the reputation. It is every bit as good as the Chrome and ProV1 i used previously. In one respect, putting, I think it is the best ball i have played. This ball rolls so true. I believe it is actually round and now I have to back off a bit on the dry greens in AZ. I really am working overtime on the putting green. I hope Dean doesn't read this because the price is a steal.

I have in the past been playing Callaway Chrome soft, TP5's, and occasionally the ProV1. My son, who works in golf sales, suggested I give the Snell balls a try and I've been very impressed. I prefer the Red over the Black as it seems to spin better around the green but both are very good and I could adjust to the black easily. I don't feel that the Snell balls are better but they certainly seem equal to ""premium"" balls without the higher price!

I bought the mixed sampler when they were introduced. Playing both the Red and Black golf balls. Have settled on the black. As I get older, the need for distance becomes more evident. I love everything that the black ball offers. Distance and feel off the club face. I love the balls and the price. Thanks from a happy customer.

A couple of months ago, I played with an old friend who is what I would call a brand loyalist. In golf that meant TM clubs and Titleist Pro V's only. I was surprised to see him playing Snell Blacks and asked why? He said he'd been playing Snell for over a year and found them every bit a good as Pro V's distance/spin wise but @ half the price. Well this I had to try so I ordered 2 dozen and have been playing them for several weeks now, I must say that I agree with his assessment and since have turned several others on to the MTB Blacks. I'm a 5 index and my buddy is scratch and we have the disposable income to support any ball model but with something this good, why pay double for the name? I guess I answered my own question. Don't take my word for it ... try them yourself.

I ordered 3 dozen reds and 3 dozen black. I've only played the reds so far. I played 7 rounds with one ball. I will say I love this ball. I really like the spin that this ball provides around green side shots. The only things I can say is I wish the ball was a little less clicky of the irons and wedges.

I am a 10 handicap. I used to play chrome soft and pro v1. Since playing the Snell MTB Black, I am enjoying the distance off the drives and more importantly better control with pitches, chipping and putting. Love how this ball checks up on the greens even from 150 yards out. This is my ball now. Already my playing partners have taken notice and will be switching too.

For the price it plays as well or better than most of the more expensive brands. Great distance off the Tee, but its the feel and ability to stop them with my short game I really like. Another plus is the putting feel. I’m playing the MTB Blacks, I have not tried the Reds yet. But this has definitely become my ball of choice. For the price and what you gain in performance these are a no-brainer.

Last year one of my playing partners purchased some Snell golf balls and bragged about how well they played. I decided to give them a try on a recent golf trip to Florida and was greatly surprised. The MTB Blacks played very consistent and wore very well. I was so impressed that I purchased another 6 dozen when I got home. Thanks for providing a premium ball at affordable prices!

I was very skeptical about these balls before I used them I thought it was just a gimmick of some kind. I was wrong! As a low single digit handicapper I know how I want the ball to feel coming off the face of the club, and these balls feel great! Long off the tee and great touch around the greens. I couldn't be happier. I'm reluctant to write a review, because I'm not sure I want everyone else knowing about them.

I first learned about Snell by noticing another golfer wearing a Snell hat. I’m always curious about anything related to golf so I looked it up, and really enjoyed reading about the company, the products and Dean’s bio. I thought to myself “why not try the MTB? The worst thing that could happen is that I give the golf balls to my son and go back to ProV1x.” As it turned out, the worst thing was that I didn’t buy the 3-pack and save even more money! I love everything about the MTB Black...performance, look, feel and durability. I’m often asked about Snell and I never miss a chance to tell and show them how great the MTB is. I’ve turned several other golfers onto Snell and they thank me every time they see me. Keep it up Snell!

Ordered a dozen MTB black to try.I very much like the dtc business model.Keeping golf ball cost down is very important to me.HOWEVER,that is if all things with the ball are equal or better than the other premium brands, specifically proV1x andBridgestone B330s/xs.Both of those balls perform better for me than the MTB black . Each are 5 to 8 yds linger off the tee, stop quicker on iron shots and pitches and chips.Putting no difference.i am a 4hcp with 98 mph ss/driver and 80/mph irons. I would switch if I could get similar performance as proV1x and Bridgestone.Keep working you’re close.

This ball really checks all the boxes for me. I get excellent distance off the tee, as long as any ball I have played. It does just what I expect from the fairway. It's also very controllable around the green. As an added bonus, it feels really good. Responsive would be a good description. Soft but let's me know I hit it. Very nice off the putter as well.

I run a 100 + golfer scramble every year, and for the last three years I have been handing out Snell golf balls for prizes. When I talk to the golfers the following year, they are very impressed with the quality and performance of the MTB Black. More than half of those golfers have switched to playing the MTB Black instead of the overpriced competition. It has everything going for it - low spin off the drive, great response from irons/hybrids/fairway metals, and soft touch and backspin with wedges. I can't say enough good things about these golf balls.

I've been playing the MTB Black for 3 years now and haven't looked back! So thankful that Dean decided to break away and start this company to grown the game because there's no question this ball is every bit as good as the latest Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The durability is fantastic and the overall feel, spin and distance are as good or better than any ball on the market and for $27 shipped to your door, you can't beat it. The one thing I noticed right away was how well the ball performs in the wind too. Much better than Titleist ball I was playing. I've turned several playing partners onto the MTB Black as well and they too have stayed with it. If you haven't tried them out, get a test pack of MTB Reds/Blacks and decide which one is best for you but I guarantee you you won't be disappointed!!

I have used Taylor Made TP balls for the last forever. This ball performs as good at the top of line TP5 or TP5X balls. One of the unique features of the Snell ball is its durability. I switched to Snell MTB Black last summer and brought home my fifth club championship. To me, the main difference - which is very underrated and under-hyped about Snell - is the durability you get from the ball. Snell has made a ball that performs just as well, if not better than the ProV1/X, in terms of distance, trajectory, spin control, and feel. But whereas the ProV1 is junk by the end of the round, the Snell can keep going for more rounds. I'm not saying I'm thrifty, but we all know there's something nice about playing multiple rounds with the same ball when you're playing well. After switching to Snell, the value proposition of the ProV1/X doesn't make sense to me anymore.

I just purchased 3 dozen MTB Black balls. Played first round today. It was excellent off driver, but on a par five when I hit my five wood to the green. 250 away I usually hit that about 220. Took off the deck thru the wind to 235. I have tried them all, great ball. Irons fly strong & just drop and sit on the green. I was worried that the ball was going bounce a keep rolling. No way sat down right on the number. No more looking for the right ball. PLEASE stay in business.

Excellent performance and feel. I play at a zero handicap, have used titelist pro v and now avx for over 25 years... im traditional and no bs when it comes to equipment. It’s the Indian not the arrow.I have not perceived any different in performance distance or control after 6 rounds and two sleeves. In fact w short shots and putting it feels softer than avx and spin is there. I play mtb black and only suggest red for high handicappers or super low swing speeds perhaps. Only complaint is that when i stike wedges and hard pitch shots clean a small piece of the cover is left on my clubface.!perhaps the ball will not hold up as long as avx etc however for the value and performance it’s a no brainer to go with the no bs snell. If you are 95 plus swing speed w driver and have decent spin numbers play black and don’t look back! Thank you mr. No bs.

As 1 handicap I’ve played the ProV1x for years since it came out after the first ProV. I play roughly 100 plus rounds a year. I’ve tried other balls and never have found any comfort in any of the them and have always came back to the ProVx. Well it looks like I’ve found a new ball! After playing the mtb black on a recent trip to Arizona for 4 rounds I’ve found a new friend The mtb played every bit like the the X. I actually felt like the ball off the driver had less spin and a more boring ball flight and longer roll out. Middle irons felt the same as the the X75-110 yard wedge shots came with the same lower ball flight with stop and drop spin. But not too much to spin back out of control. Around the green actually a softer feel than the prov xThe balls a great value for the $. Not going back.

The Snell ball is an amazing ball that delivers consistency and confidence in its performance. It is as good as, if not better than any performance ball on the market at an amazingly affordable price. As a low handicapper who likes to work and shape the ball, the Snell comes through and provides excellent feedback on all shots. The most telling review I can give is that, as a golfer who takes a yearly trip to either MB or OC, the Snell ball is in my bag and we all know we want to play our best on that year end, bragging rights golf trip. I’d recommend this ball to anyone who wants tour performance without the tour price. Thanks for a great product Dean. Dan G.

I read the reviews. So, I decided to get a 2 boxes of the black, a trial box and a box of yellow Get Some. It has been a wet winter so I got the yellow Get Some because it would be easier to find if it plugged I could see it. My first round at the first green I was shocked at how soft it felt on a putt. The distance off the tee box was great. Like 15 yds further than the Callaway chrome. I found distance consistent and predictable with Get Some. On shots this a 7 iron to a lob wedge. The surprising thing was the ball felt the same as a Pro V at impact. Now, spin? I spun the ball off two the greens. Now, the awesome thing that I fell in love with was chipping. It was easy to manipulate my spin on this ball around the green. If I needed the ball to check it did. If I needed it to roll it did. Putting was consistent and felt great. In my opinion this is a awesome ball. I'm a 4 handicap golfer.

I bought 2 dozen of MTB Black to try. Its been an odd year weather wise and still very wet, damp, and cool in the mid-Atlantic states. So only have been able to play 18 holes with them. Quite surprised with the performance in colder weather and the feel. Usually play a 3-piece ball. Prices were comparable when I ordered, however see that the MTB Black has went up. I like the ball so well I will pay the additional cost per dozen. I am a senior golfer with physical injuries which now has caused a reduced swing speed. These balls still play very well for slow swing speed players and have that bite around the greens. I would recommend anyone to give these a try. Like me you may be in for a surprise and change to playing this ball for keeps.

I needed balls, had less than a dozen left. I wasn't enthused with the balls [Callaway CS] I had been using. I happened upon a review of the Snell balls on some web site that I had been browsing. I decided to try them, purchased 2 DZ MTB Black, and after my 2nd round using them I purchased 2 DZ more. I'm and old guy and I don't generate much clubbed speed but this ball works well for me. I get good distance, it has great feel [not to clicky or too soft either] good spin and they are very durable. Overall the MTB Black fits my game. There are many balls on the market that fall into the price range of 30-$35. I don't believe you'll find a better ball for the price. The MTB Black is a great ball.

I've tested many golf balls, and have have always been a faithfull Titleist ProV1 loyalist. That ball has always worked well for me, but at $50 a dozen, I always had to take advantage of the end of the year sale from Titleist, which still at their sale price of $39 is still a lil steep. My buddy gave me a sleeve of the Snell MTB Black to try. I played it side by side with a ProV, and with out a doubt, The MTB Black either performed equally or on many different shots, out performed the ProV. I loved that ball so much, I went to snell.com and did my reviews and research. I was amazed at the Great reviews of this ball, knowing my test of the ball was almost identical to many who played the MTB Black. So, I went ahead and bought me the 4 dozen deal at $25.00 each, I wouldn't call it a steal! I would call it a Absolute Great Savings! My order arrived in 2 days which was even greater! I will have definitely became a Snell Golf Ball Ambassador. Thank you Snell for not only saving me money, but delivering me a Great Golf Ball.

So I decided to try these out last a couple of weeks ago. No joke, the second hole I tried these, I aced a par 4. First albatross and hole in one. The rest of the round I switched between these and the reds. I like the blacks better because they felt softer and more like the balls I currently use (chrome soft and tp5). I can confidently say I will be putting these in my rotation from now on.

Enjoying the feel I have with this ball! I have a much better chance with my irons of getting this ball to stop and spin than with any other ball I have played at this price point

Replaced my proV 1 with the new Snell ball and was extremely pleased. Had great roll and spin. Even hit a few trees with no effect on ball. Extremely durable and enjoyable.

I was playing a four piece ball and ordered the Snell Red but found them a bit too soft for my game (3 handicap) and they weren't going as far as my Callaway Chrome Soft or original Kirkland 4 piece. So the people at Snell were kind enough to swap out my remaining 2 dozen red for the MTB Black and it is by far, the best ball I've ever played. Long off the tee, responsive with irons and soft around the greens. Just enough spin to hit and stop or draw back just a bit. I've turned on 3 other golfers to the ball and all have ordered them and are thrilled. They are also durable. Great product by a true innovator. Thanks Snell !

Played the PRO V for years. Changed to MTB in 2018, Since changing balls have two (2) hole in one. One in 2018 and one on January 27, 2019 at Hyannis Golf club. Posted both on FB no comment from Snell. Anyway fabulous ball

I have tried both black and red. Both preform wonderfully. But I think I like the red just tad better because of the sweet sound off the driver. Can’t imagine going back to any other premium ball.

I was a regular user of B-330 tour and Titleist Pro V-1...a couple of years ago a regular member of our group found a Snell...MTB and asked me had I ever heard of or played a Snell, to which I replied, ""no""! On the next tee, after I had played my tee shot, I hit another shot with the Snell. I was surprised by the feel and distance. When I got home, I went to my computer and ordered the MTB...ever since then I've got several players in my Myrtle Beach group playing with Snells...several people in my family ordered some for holiday gifts to replace the more expensive balls they had been playing...The quality of shot the Snell MTB produces is every bit as much as I have ever experienced with other balls...that is important to me since I am a 3 handicap and the ball is an important part of my equipment! Most of the time I wear my ""Snell"" hat so I can talk about this product!!! Thanks Dean and Co. for a great product!

Tested both the red and black version. Red ball felt harder off the club face also, less distance than the black. Gave the left over reds to my wife. Ordered a dozen more blacks and love them.

...but that's a ""me"" issue, not Snell's, and the sleeve I've so far played (and lost) acquitted itself admirably.Every shot I hit properly did exactly as it should have, including noticeably better performance than I'm used to in stopping on the greens.

Bought a test pack of MTB Black and MTB Red after checking the golf ball review in Golf Digest 2018. Went out and played a par 3 course and shot 3 over for 18. Tee shots were holding the green as were approach shot which normally I had to chip back onto the green with my old ball after they ran off. I like both the black and red at the present time. Great golf balls at a great price. I chair a golf tournament for a club and we give every golfer a sleeve of golf balls to start the tournament. This year they will be getting Snell MTB Black or MTB Red in their goodie package. The Snell New Era beanie is also a great hat for us players here in the Pacific northwest this time of year.

Love both the red and black. Bought the sample pack with six of each, prefer the softness of the red a bit better so bought two more dozen. This is my new ball of choice and I will be playing them exclusively from this point forward. I will probably use the black during the summer months here in Vegas.

In the past I've used the Bridgestone RX balls and had been really happy with the performance. After trying the Snell Black, I can say i am very pleased with the overall playability. The only thing I've noticed is that the ball performs better in warmer weather. Keep up the good work!

My favorite ball has been the Pro V1 until I used the Red. It is equal to the Pro V1 off the tee and around the green and cheaper. Why spend more when you can play this ball?

I usually play the Black's but wanted to give the Red's a try. Well now I have an issue. I love both balls. I dont always generate a ton a spin from 100-175 yards out. I normally play the shot to hop a couple of times before stopping. The Black's do exactly that. Well the Red's spinned back. I was impressed how it was spinning back. It changed the way I attacked the flag. Both are great off the tee. Now I just need to decide what approach I want to go with. Both are excellent balls.

I bought both the MTB Red and Black. I was wondering how both would play. I was really happy with both. Unfortunately didn’t get to see a lot of difference because of cold weather golf. Very happy with the balls on the greens. I’ll play either ball. I also played a prov1 my favorite ball. Both Red, and Black felt very similar around the green and off the tee box. these are great golf balls for the price.

I was challenged to try both red & black models. Black flies far and putts track well Red is clearly softer and holds the green well and also putts true. I prefer the Black and honestly there is very little difference verse the big guys. If challenged to compare I would say they are interchangeable with taylormade. Cost savings is a huge bennefit and bingo you have the best of both worlds- high quality performance with value pricing. Try them both

I bought one of MTB Red and MTB Black. I love the feel of the red over the black. Even playing in 45 degree weather the red still had a soft feel and flew well. My wife was playing some other brand and said it was like hitting a rock. The reds have a soft feel but you can feel the acceleration off of the club face! When chipping and putting they feel even better! the greens have been VERY receptive in the NY, North Jersey area so I cannot comment on their stopping power. Overall a great ball!

Being a snow bird I played ProV1's for years up north. After spending more time in Clearwater FLA I found that the ProV1's were getting lost at a surprising rate probably because of all the water and playing courses for the first time. I also found that if I continued to play the ProV I would have to take a second mortgage on my house. So, I bought some Snell balls in Black and Red and started playing them. Either ball plays well in the warm weather and when I lose one it's ok. Kind of leaning toward the Black for all around play.

I purchased two dozen (black box) for my golf vacation in Pinehurst NC and was amazingly impressed with the golf ball. My distance seem to be 10 yards ahead of my fellow competitors and even they were amazed. I lost two sleeves not to the golf courses but to future buyers that just had to hit one for themselves. Great prices for a superior ball !

I met a gentleman who introduced me to the MTB Black. I played 1 ball for the remaining 15 holes. Within 2 holes I could feel a HUGE difference in feel, putter feel, ball height and all around playability. Don't waste money or time with those other balls that claim what MTB produces at the BEST cost too!!! Play the MTB Black and don't look back on high priced golf balls that do not produce the results the MTB does!!

This is one of the best ball I’ve played lately. It’s spin is comparable to some high pricey balls. Think I will stick to this one for a while.

I've played these for months now, and Snell is my brand of choice. I've played the GetSum, Black and Red. After many tries, I thought I was going to be a Red player, but I've committed to the Black. I hit the ball plenty high so the Black does the job the best for me on distance. Coincidentally, my weekly golf buddy plays the Red because he hits the ball naturally lower and uses the loft of the Red. It's great to know how these balls work and to know if I want more height, I will go to Reds. I'm a 5 handicap and I'm working in 2019 to becoming a scratch golfer. I've seen some tweaks in my game add a lot of distance to my shots, and these Snell balls can really move. My average drives with the Black are now around 275, but with some lucky bounces on hard fairways, I've hit one of these things 357 yards last week. I love the balls around the green, and the durability is fantastic. If you're not a VIP member, you should be and Snells should just be part of your gear. I'm really looking forward to the new release on 2/18. I've always been a Titleist ball guy playing ProV1/ProV1X/Velocity/DT Solo balls and Snell's have been the best balls I've played.

I liked this ball off the tee, fairway and rolled well of the putter. Next to the premium ball, distance was equal at least. Durability was good too
