I’m a 14 handicap so I hit many different kinds of shots. I played 7 rounds without losing a ball. My drives were the est that I’ve ever hit them. Distance and direction. My friends kept asking what I did only changed balls. Get some.

I personally fell in love with the SNELL golf balls last summer. I have been using them solely for several months now and recently started up a Sports/Daily Fantasy Sports website and we have decided to put our logo on 50 dozen of the MTB to use as promotional items! Love dealing with everyone at SNELL, can't beat this company or ball.

Been playing mtb since it came out, just got my 'red's' and one round later, I can say, felt good off long clubs, might have played a smidge longer. Either I had a great wedge day or the ball played better near green. Packaging in all red looked good too. I will try the mixed doz to get a few 'blacks' to try but so far- job well done ! I had a few doz orig mtb but hosted a small tournament- they were prizes. Also used personalized 'getsum' for cart gifts for all players- they were clearly longer for some high handicappers.

Absolutely Amazing! I was given a MTB at an outing and fell in love with it. I was playing a ProV1 but switched immediately. Increased yardage on all clubs by 10 yards minimum. I love them so much that I purchased a few dozen to give to my golf buddies for Christmas. Excellent Product!!! Excellent Price!!! Thanks Dean

Putting with this ball sounds and feels great, good roll and so far good distance control. The line on the ball is sufficient I don't feel the need to draw my own line. This has been done on my indoor putting green. I also want to mention the packaging looks awesome.

These are great golf balls at any price let alone $25-31. Great feel around the greens and a little bit longer than my Bridgestone RX-S and Chromesoft golf balls. Love the customer interaction on social media as well. Keep it up. Look forward to the 2018 golf balls.

I started using the Snell 3 years ago, I have been impressed right from the beginning with its performance. I think its the best 3 piece ball you can buy for under the #30.00 range. I will continoue using this ball for years to come. Jim

Tried these balls and purchased two additional times. Reasonably priced and saw no major difference from major brands I had consistently purchased. Condition remains almost new for three to four rounds. Recommend everyone try these as an alternative to over priced golf balls

I had heard of Snell however did not know anyone who played the ball. I found one and played it and was amazed at the performance. I play to 2-5 hcp range. Drives were 10 to 15 yards farther. Flight of the ball felt more carry for me and the ball danced. The ball does not get shredded with wedges. Loved the ball and as bonus I liked the price point. Every six dozen I buy I always get inquires and find myself giving away number of sleeves.

During the winter months the damp cooler weather this ball performs great! I still hit drivers far with this ball. With my Irons the ball stays in air better. Enough control .. The only the thing is cover takes a little more wear. The value is well worth it. I'm a 58 year old 3 hdcp from TX..

I received my test pack which had two sleeves of the MTB Black and MTB Red. I lost approximately 10-15 yards off the tee with the Red. The ball seemed much firmer than the Black and ether therefore it did not perform well around the greens. It did not perform well in the wind. This is not the right ball for me.

I've been playing the MTB for 3 years. I occasionally find other balls someone lost and add them to my bag. I used to think I found a treasure if I stumbled on a Pro V, Pro V1X, or some other highly touted ""commercial"" ball. Now, those are my junk balls. The MTB is so smooth and predictable for me, I will be using them until Snell comes out with a better ball, and I run out of MTB's!

Okay, I'm a cynic, and don't believe everything I see online, but bought some because they weren't much more than cheap balls. And WOW...20 yds more off the tee, and a smooth solid feel with the woods, and irons. Bounce and stop on the greens were the order of the day. my score for the day was 8 strokes less than normal, and I feel like I am 10 yrs younger standing over the ball. Congradulations Snell golf, a great ball. In fact, I've ordered 2 dozen more to make sure I don't run out.You will not be disappointed.

I have tried many golf balls over the years and the past few years I’ve decided that expensive golf balls make no difference to my golf game. For the last six months or so I’ve been playing Wilson Zip balls and I like them and they are inexpensive. However, recently I’ve been taking golf lessons and I decided my game may have improved to the point where a more expensive golf ball might be a worthwhile investment. I bought the test pack of reds and blacks, which arrived today. I spent two hours chipping and pitching with both the reds and blacks from distances ranging from about 10 to 70 feet. I started with the blacks. I was immediately shocked by how much harder they feel than the Zips. It took me a half an hour to get used to chipping with these balls but when I did the results were very good but over the next hour and a half I could not escape the feeling that I just preferred a softer feeling ball. Then I went to the reds. Again I was surprised. First, the reds spin much more than the blacks. The difference in spin was very obvious from the first shot and never varied. The reds also feel softer than the blacks but were still a little harder than my cheap Zips. After a half an hour I began to wonder if the reds spin too much. After my first experiment with these balls I like the feel of the reds and the spin of the blacks. These are very different golf balls and I don’t know which I like more yet. Try the test pack before you buy, the reds and blacks are very different.

Finally caught a good weather day in mid-Missouri and played my first round of the spring, gamed the MTB Red that I bought as part of the test pack, and all I know is that I shot my career round at my home club (78). I'm an 11.7 index coming into the spring. Used one ball on the front, and one ball on the back, they held up nicely, seem to be in good shape going forward, will put them back in play, so they seem nice and durable. Gave outstanding distance off the tee, but I was most impressed around the green, my pitch/chip game was on fire, and the ball checked up wonderfully - gave me confidence to be aggressive at the pin. I've been a Pro V1 devotee for a few years, but Dean has given me something to think about, most definitely! I highly recommend trying this ball out if you're curious.

Dean, I am so glad you designed and produced a yellow ""tour"" ball! Have had the balls for a few weeks, but been rainy in Dallas area, so have only played three times since receiving order. Feel, sound, carry, traj, spin are all great off driver, irons, wedges and putter. For reader comparison, it is definitely firmer, louder and snappier than Callaway Chrome Soft 2016, but a little less firm than a ProV or Vx ... again this is IMO with limited rounds with temps in 50's. Btw, color is nice, a little lighter, brighter and more to lime'ish shade than Callaway Chrome Soft. Two call outs - cover durability is great! Fortunately I have played all the three rounds with one ball. Cover has held up well on full iron and wedge shots with limited to no groove scaring. Second, I am so glad to see these are back ordered! :) Dean, I remember watching a youtube video of you stating that due to small overall market sales that you didn't know if you would produce a yellow ""tour"" ball, and that the yellow coloring was different manufacturing/painting process on urethane vs. harder cover materials (assuming Get Sum is surlyn) ... well I am so glad you did and glad to see demand has been high! Great ball...well done. Will be the only ball in my bag this year.

I really liked the MTB when it first came out but it was a bit too hard around the greens. Well the 4 piece solves all problems. It goes long off the tee. It spins well off of irons. It checks up great with shots out of the rough and bunkers. Finally, it puts soft but not too soft. It is my perfect ball (and a perfect price) and I am buying more as we speak!

Played MTB's since March 2017. First hole in one last July was with MTB. Ordered MTB Red Value Pack that were received last week and put them directly into play at Member Guest this past weekend. Wasn't sure it was possible, but they played some longer of the tee, were extremely consistent in 2 to 3 club wind with irons, danced on the green and around the pin, and felt great off the putter. Won the tournament with my partner! What's not to like - There is no ball at any price I would rather play!

Pretty simply. This is a top of the line ball at an incredible price. Tons of spin like tour levels balls, because this is a tour level ball. Soft off the putter, great feel off every club and long. I've been recommending them aggressively to my friends lol. This might sound weird, but it's a handsome looking ball.

I am a regular user of Snell golf balls and have bought many 6 dozen packs of the older model. I was excited to try to the new MTB Red. I bought a test dozen half black half red. I did not think the Red matched the previous old model. I didn’t see much difference on the long game but the short game actually did not check up as well as the older model. Neither did it have a very soft feel. Sure it’s long off the tee and it’s an excellent ball. But for me it’s not enoug to switch. Of course mileage may vary. I’ll be testing the Black version tomorrow. But so far I’m staying with the older Snell ball.

I'm a 7 handicap and prefer the Optic Yellow balls as I can see them much better. Have been waiting on Titleist to make a yellow Pro V1 but evidently they don't see the market for these balls in yellow. As a result I've tried every Urethane ball made in yellow and have been playing the Taylormade Project (a) for the last year. Just did testing with Project (a) both old and new 2018 version against the Snell MTB Red. The Snell ball won in every category. From putting all the way to driver. You have to try this ball. Best Optic Yellow Tour ball on the market. And if you order 6dz like I'm getting ready to do the cost goes all the way down to $27.33 a dz for a 4pc Urethane ball!!! Just incredible!!! I think you'll find that the Snell MTB outperforms the Pro V1. Thanks again Snell Golf and welcome to the bag!!

Just got my sample pack last Monday...WOW !!! Fantastic Balls...both of them. The Red spins more than any ball I have used recently, with the possible exception of the old school 90 compression Balata Titleists. The Wilson Zips are good as are the Project a""s but, the New Snell Red's beat them all. As for the Blacks, they come off the driver with the old school rifle crack sound and fly true and straight with a Mid launch off of my 10.5 degree Tom Wishon Driver. As for the price, I say ""How can you go wrong"" ? Dean Snell is the golf ball Guru in my book. Check out his background with TaylorMade and Titleist. I've played with all of the smaller company golfballs.....Oncor,... Kick-X....K-Sig....Vice and the Red AND Black Snells are in a class of their own. I am a senior player and come from a golfing family, I started when I was seven and have played a lot of golfballs. I can honestly say the the new Red AND Black Snell balls are as good as you can get today. I will continue to purchase the mixed packs as long as they are available but I don't lose many balls. With the new Blacks today I hit every fairway, missed only two greens with my approach shots with the Reds. Yes, I did switch back and fourth but wanted to test both balls in one round. Additionally, the new Blacks and Reds seem to maintain their finish better than the original Snell MTB's. I also have NO affiliation with Snell whatsoever and buy them via mail order. I would however, like to meet Dean Snell sometime.

This shade of green may be Snell's chosen company color, but on a hat it looks like something a gas station attendant might wear. That's too bad because its structure, shape, and design are excellent. Offer it in dark blue and burgundy red and watch sales jump.

I was genuinely impressed with the MTB (2017) as it performed on the same level as the Pro-V1 but cost $20 less. This year's models remanded true, and I am glad to see that they decided to release a test pack option vs. forcing the consumer to buy separately. Here are some notes on my end:Driver: I would say that both balls performed very well off the tee box down to my hybrid. No argument there.Approach Shot:Overall both balls hit well same trajectory, but would same the MTB Black tended to roll out more vs. the MTB Red. I did have concerns about the MTB Black's cover starting to show wear and tear.Short Game:This is the area of my game that determined my choice between the two balls. On my first approach shot with the MTB Black 75yrds out, I hit a shot right on the green, and to my surprise, the cover had significant wear and tear. I played the ball for another hole and the same situation same result, so I switched to a new MTB Black and sadly to say the cover again showed multiple signs of the cover starting to peel (major red flags for me)! With the MTB Red I did see major wear and tear on the cover in addition, I noticed that the ball tended to run out less as well.Putting:A minimal difference for me as both balls had a soft feel and roll pure.Final choiceI am picking the MTB Red based on the more controlled short game and that the cover seems to hold up better than the MTB Black.

Have been using the old Black MTB and I can""t tell the difference in a Snell black and a PRO V. With my sample pack I tested Black vs Red vs Pro V. Great fun! I found the Black to be more like a ProV X (which I like). I found the red to be hotter off the club face, much longer off the club and extremely hot around the greens. I could adapt my chipping and pitching to facilitate using the Red. But I'm lazy so just stick with the Black MTB. Would like to see a Yellow Black as I can see them better. I am in my 80's, shoot my age regularly and have an 11.2 GHIN. But my swing is very very slow. I think that's why the MTB Black feels better to me. Keep up the good work.

Played this ball most of last year. Compared it to Pro V1 which I played and Chrome Soft and this ball is better than both. Longer off the tee and better accuracy. The one thing that I really like is that the spin is very consistent around the greens and on short shots. 100yrd one bounce and stop every time. Not too much spin but just enough to judge consistently every time. Cant say enough about the ball. Just ordered 18 dozen with company logos to give out to my clients. Looking forward to try the 2018 version of the MTB Black. Also ordered a few dozen of MTN Red to given them a try as well. By the way the logo came out great, very impressed and the logo was very durable. Can't say enough about the ball. Since I got them last year, don't play anything else.

Overall the MTB black performed better for my game. When I first got the test pack I put both vs 2018 Bridgestone Tour BXS. Around the practice area I would have put money that the Red would put match the others however. Took them out on a very gusty TX day and on the front I lost all but 1 red and on the back I shot 3 over with the Black and couldn’t believe how well I felt control over all sorts or shots. Low spin hot off the tee with enough flexibility to shape it without too much punishment. 120 yds in I loved the feedback not only with feel and sound but it was almost easier to “feel” the spin each strike. Best ball for me however bottom ranking for the finish only because I REALLY like the cover and vibrancy of the MTB red. I swing fast/bad enough to shred some covers but both models bested the Bridgestones in my opinion..and that’s not even getting into the price difference. I wasn’t on the verge of tears losing a Snell because of the price...but I was mad because I lost a great ball. I only felt that losing a top price ball only makes me hurt in the pocket. In my bag for the duration and feel good switching between the two with confidence. GREAT JOB Snell Golf team!Spreading the word to every golfer I play with!

I am 61 yrs old & 7 handicap purchased the test pack of Reds & Blacks. Played 2 rounds with each ball. My findings are as follows: Played RED first & was amazed how soft & how much spin. Took a few holes to adjust to the spin, especially with wedges. Once I started hitting them to the pin, everything came together. Distance was less than the original MTB, but the spin made up for any distance loss. I was prepared to end my trial and buy the Reds. However, my wife convinced me to try the Black. Distance is a problem at 61. I gained 1/2 to 1 iron with thesedriver gained a bit, but the FW wood & hybrids were the most noticeable. And they do hold the greens, very well. We have a 248 yard par 3 with 200+ carry over water. I hit a 3 wood, hit the green & was pin high. It flew 245 yards & released 6' from the ball mark. I was so impressed, I went back, re-tee'd & hit another. Pulled it slightly, but carried one yard farther with approximately same release. Our club pro played three holes in with me & he used the Black & flew all three greens. So, I feel very comfortable that the yardage gains are not a fluke. Needless to say, I went with BLACK even though I had my mind made up on RED earlier. I am very impressed & was worried we would lose some performance the MTB offered, but Don has a winner with these two balls. One other thing, I am in Texas & wind is always a factor. The Black bore through the wind & didn't balloon. The RED did when I played it. GL!

What a great golf ball. It feels great off the woods, hybrids and irons. Good feel off the putter too. Plenty of bite and great around the greens. I love it in the yellow color as well. EXCELLENT!

I played a round of golf red vs black. Red scored 72 and Black scored 75. With that said I'm going all in for 6 dozen black. Both would work and red even had the better score. I preferred the lower driver and mid iron spin off the black. When I had a poor strike missing right with the red it really spun and climbed. I found both balls were equal for me in the wedge game. If the black is longer off the tee, I was only getting 3-6 yds longer dry ball testing. That could be totally on my strike and is negligible. #MTBBlack2018

Ok first review was indoor putting, which immediately felt great with very good roll and sound. I was able to take this ball out with me this past weekend in 45* weather. The RED flies off of the driver, it really does feel great. Now when using my long to mid irons I was still getting good distance and the ball flight was exactly what I'm looking for a nice low penetrating flight with my 4 iron. Moving up to the wedges the ball did check on the greens, I was even able to put a couple flop shots within 2 feet of the pin. One thing I really do want to point out is durability, my partner was playing a completely different brand we compared when we were done with the round and mine still looked almost new while his did not. Again for the price of this ball, I have found that I will not be going into big box stores to get a dozen balls anymore. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

The new MTB black ball is outstanding and will rival any ball on the market. The lower spin off of the driver is very noticeable and in my opinion the ball has a better feel than the previous model. I shot my lowest round of the year yesterday (67) the first time I teed the MTB Black. The new alignment aid looks awesome!!! Well done Snell golf.

I really like the original MTB and was disappointed to hear that it's been discontinued. I've played two rounds now with the MTB Black. The ball is a little brighter than the original and it feels slightly softer. Driver length remained the same and the softer feel seems to add more feel to touch shots. It feels great off the irons and putts well too. Overall, I think the MTB Black is a slightly better ball than the original MTB. Don't make MTB Black any softer like some of the Callaway offerings...they feel like hitting marshmallows.

I received my test pack with 6 Black and 6 Red. The Black is a better ball for me. Distance off the driver is as good if not better than the ProVI. The ball flight with long irons/hybrids is excellent. No ballooning due to excess spin. I really liked the feel on the shorter iron shots. The ball performed well around the greens with both pitch and run shots and lob shots. The ball rolls nice off the putter face. I will definitely purchase these balls again. FYI, I did not like the Red. As noted earlier, the Black is a better ball for me.

I have been really working on my game the last 3-4 years. I’ve had all the expensive big name balls and they are great. I started playing a dozen or so Snells right after they came out. After a few dozen I have literally put these in as my only go to ball. I purchased 6 doz of the MTB Red for this season but still have 4 doz of the MTB from last season. Don’t lose as many now. With the rather poor weather we have been having here in the NE it has been difficult to assess the reds to their full potential but for the 5 rounds I have played with them, they have become the ball in my bag.

I used to play often when I was in my teens and twenties and usually shot around 80 to 85 in a round. After two decades away from the game golf balls have changed...A LOT. Back in the day when I played I would buy whatever ball was available and affordable. I quickly learned that always playing the same ball had benefits, even if it was just an ""ok"" ball, you always knew how the ball would react to the swing you put on the ball. When I started playing again two years ago I was shooting in the upper 90's initially but got that back down to the mid 80's. It was then I decided to find ""My Ball"" I tried many but the Chrome soft seemed to fit me best. So I stuck with that ball. Until Now. I just got my order of MTB Red in optic yellow. Even on the chilly day with temps in the high 40's I noticed no distance loss. This ball has all the greenside spin and stopping power of the Chrome Soft if not more. Feels great off the putter. Don't worry about the high flight properties of the ball, no ballooning shots at all. You can work the ball easily left or right and if you set up for a lower trajectory that is what you will get. I played the whole round with one ball and it didn't even have a single mark on it. Long off the driver, firm but not hard off the irons and wedges spin like crazy. The MTB Red is the perfect ball for me and starting now the MTB Red will be the only ball in my bag. The ball is also a bargain in the 6 dozen pack. No need to carry a cheap ball for the water holes!

Over the last few months, I’ve been testing different “tour caliber” balls to find what’s best for me, yet isn’t $50/dozen. Took these out today for the first round since I got them. Fired a 74! What’s even more amazing is I’ve never even broke 80 before. These feel great off the tee and offer great distance. Irons flew straight and true with amazing bite on the green and very soft around the greens I missed. Can’t believe the performance. I’ve tested a lot of balls owning a golf publication, but I’m done. This is my ball!

I had been playing the original MTB and was looking for a ball that was longer. I tried the Bridgestone Tour BRX and thought that was my new ball. After a few rounds I noticed that the ball did not check up on the greens very well. I had ordered a test pack of the new Red and Black when they first became available but had not tired them. I played the new MTB Black this weekend and got the distance I was getting from the BS ball and the MTB Black checks up very well. I'm back in the family. I've been playing the MTB Black for a few years, decided to try a dozen of the Reds. Driver - with a 109mph swing speed I was 5-10yds less than the Black with higer trajectory. Mishits for me proved very bad because of the increased spin.Long/mid irons - distance proved to be about 1/2 to 1 club less, with higher trajectory than what I'm used to. I have a 170yd par 3 that I normally use a 7 iron on. I hit 6 shots, all were high, ballooning hits (2 draws, 2 fades and 2 straight at it) that were great shots I thought...all came up about 3yds short. Pulled out the 6 iron and put one right on the green and it stuck very well.Short irons/wedges - this is where this ball shines! I played 27 holes and quite possibly best around the greens 150yds in I've ever played. High, very high off the 49-60 degree wedges and it really puts on the brakes. I hit a 30yd sand wedge flop shot from the fairway that actually backed up (I've never done that) into the hole for an eagle on a par 5.Putter - like hitting a sponge with a little ""thud""Great ball for the player that needs the help getting it airborne and keeping it around the green.

First: it has to be yellow. Soooooooo much easier to find this ball in the rough/glaring sun. This makes the ball MUCH cheaper because I lose so few. Secondly, the ball performs as well as anything else out there. I have tested everything out there, and see no reason to pay any more. You can save more money buying used balls but there's likely a performance drop off. I hope this yellow ball / SNELL Is around for many decades to come. This type of ball is the future.

First off, I'm super picky about my golf balls, I don't know why, I just am. I've played Pro v1x for a few years, and I'm considering ""losing"" my last sleeve in the woods out of pure spite. I played with both the red and the black this past weekend, and I can say that the MTB black is easily my new favorite ball. I play forged cb irons (p770) and the feel of the MTB black was amazing compared to the v1x. It flies like crazy off the driver, but the true performance was with the scoring clubs. It popped when I needed it out of the muck and it stuck to the green when I had an up-and-down. I can't wait for summer when the courses around the PNW dry out a little more to see what these do on a harder green. Dean - Thank you for bringing us a product that performs better than the 'industry standard' at half the price. You're a proper gentleman of this gentleman's game.

I bought the MTB RED. I like a softer feeling ball with spin around the greens. I'm a 2 handicap and can easily feel the difference in a golf ball. The spin and feel around the greens is spot on. The cover holds up with very limited marking from wedge shots. I played 36 with the same ball just to see it's durability. Try the sample pack for your specific preference. I received the Snell MTB black before my CC's golf tournament. I'm a 10 handicap, I didn't lose a ball over 36 holes, and I won the tournament. I definitely noticed I was getting more carry and roll on average which resulted in a more yards added on to my driver. I loved the spin and control around the greens, especially as I'm a player who relies on hitting some shots with backspin. I've primarily played with Pro V 1's and Pro V 1x's for a while now and in my opinion the Snell golf ball plays better than the Pro V's. Also, considering it's almost $20 less per dozen, its a no brainer for the best golf ball on the market, by a long shot. I promised the golf gods after my win, I will only use Snell balls going forward. Definitely a recommended purchase.

I played a few other premium balls and some direct to consumer in yellow or green, and can see them much better. The MTB Red however, is a game changer for me. It feels smooth off the putter, great control around the green, and amazing stopping power on the irons. Off the driver, it has that firmer feel that I liked in the Pro V1x. This is a truly premium players ball that I can actually see!

As a low spin player, even I can get these to check into the green, as mentioned by playing partners. Feels great off my O-works putter too. I will admit I have always been a bit of ball snob, I wanted to play the best ball, the way to look at it you have to play the best to get the best out of it. So I spent many years buying the best balls, mostly Pro V1. Now there is no disputing the fact that Titleist makes a good golf ball but I no longer think its the best, the Snell MTB is as good as the Pro V1 in all areas to me, I was playing the original MTB for a couple years and recently tried the Black and Red, I decided to stick with the Black more for the feel than anything,. I could probably benefit from more spin on approach shots but the Black does the job for me. Its usually about 3 or 4 ft at most from the ball mark and the softer feel is what I prefer. I don't know why anyone would keep spending the extra Money on more expensive balls that perform the same. Go get some you won't regret it.

I have been playing the Callaway Chrome Soft for the past three years but with the increase in price, I was looking for a similar ball for less money. I tried the Taylor Made Project A but is didn't make me fall in love. Well let me tell you, the MTB Red blew me away from the first tee shot and especially the first chip shot. I love the way it spins on the iron shots and with the spin around the greens, I can be more agressive towards the hole. I highly recommend the MTB Red. MTB black provides: - Superior distance- Lower compression rate - feels much better of the tee esp. with driver, less spin, straighter path, longer drive- Nice feel on the short game - still manages with stick to green when spin is placed on ball- Great durability even on collision with trees! - Value +++Don't hesitate to try, I imagine you will not go back

They play just as well as the other tour balls I've played, in my opinion. I've played multiple rounds with each ball with little wear and tear (save the errant cart path blemishes). I'm a bit more partial to the MTB Red, as I played it yesterday, shooting my personal low round of 1 over par!

For whatever it's worth to people who read these- I'm a 12 HCP who hits it decently far (285-290 driver) who loses a lot of strokes in the short game.I never felt like I had ""my ball"" that I liked until I tried the Snell sample pack. I didn't notice any differences between red or black until I was 100 yards and in. Both gave me a lower wedge flight which I've never gotten with ANY ball before but the main difference was 50 and in pitch shots. MTB Red for me has the most control I've ever had from a ball. The stopping power is incredible and I've already started to improve my scores just from saving strokes around the green. The black is great too, for me it seemed the same as any other high end ball but the Red is noticeably above them all. As long as Dean keeps making them, I'll keep buying them.

The MTB Red performs just like Snell says. I am a 13 hcp and hit the ball far enough (275 yds driver) but needed help with my short game Andy putting. The MTB Red is a little shorter than the MTB black but man does it make up for that elsewhere. Noticeably more spin with short irons and wedges. It feels softer when hitting those clubs, too. Short game control is really nice. I noticed a bigger difference off the putter though, the Red just felt better on all putts. I am a 7.2 handicap and play about 60 rounds a year. I had played Taylor Made and Callaway Chrome Soft for the past several years. I bought the value pack to try both Red and Black. I can honestly say that I am not sure yet which one I like better because both were great. I would say that the Black may have felt a bit firmer, but otherwise both performed great. The bottom line is that I can not fathom why anyone would pay for 'premium"" balls from other companies, and I know I won't ever again.

I'm a 19 handicap and a couple months ago I decided to purchase this test pack with the assumption that I would prefer the MTB Red over the MTB Black, since I typically play ProV1x and haven't really found any benefit in playing the regular ProV1. However, to my surprise and to many of my playing partners, the stopping power the MTB Black has on the greens is absolutely amazing. I've had many people ask me how I got it to check-up so quickly, when the greens were super fast, and to be honest, I've never really been able to do that consistently, but with this ball I now can. Thank you Dean, for the heart and dedication you have put into these MTB balls, and for making them available to the general public at reasonable costs, keep up the great work. You really have nothing to lose by giving these balls a try, so what are you waiting for?
