Really liked the original Snell ball. Didn’t care for the second generation. The MTB-X is the best one yet. In fact, it’s the best ball I’ve played in 40 years. It checks all the boxes. Please keep this version available indefinitely!!

I am not a person that writes a lot of reviews online. However, I feel compelled to write one for the Snell MTB-X. I discovered Snell a couple of years ago and played the Black all last year. I found it to be the longest, straightest ball for my swing speed (100 mph). I sometimes found myself asking for it to check a little better on chip shots, but for the money I was saving I adjusted. I just tried the MTB-X and there is no more need for adjustment. And it is longer. And it is the same low price. And Dean still signs every invoice. Well done, sir. Unfortunately, some of the other players in my golf league are starting to ask me about it.

Ive been playing the MTB black since early last year. Gave the RED a try but went back to the Black. When the X was introduced I had to give them a go. I gotta tell ya, this is a perfect a golf ball as I have ever played. And Ive played a lot of golf and every golf ball ever made over the last 45 years. Now to the Snell Golf people, Ive bought a few dozen or more of these golf balls and always tick the box for free shipping, 5-7 days. But you always keep sending them FedEx overnight delivery, for free? I want you guys to stay in business, so please dont throw away all of your money on expensive shipping for free! Im smart enough (I hope), to order my golf balls in plenty of time before I actually need them! If not, then too bad for me! I just bought another 3 doz, and you guys rock.

I am transitioning from a softer, lower compression ball, as i am looking for better action around the greens. So far I love everything about this ball (MTB-X). It feels great off the tee. great response around the greens. I bought one dozen, but gave several away to friends, so I just ordered another two dozen.Next time I will try the yellow ball.

Just finished playing a 3-day tournament with my first box of Snell MTB Black. I am convinced that they play just as good as PV1... Held up nicely. Played 1 ball for 2 days would have played it for 3 days but chose to play a new one on last day. Cover held up great. The ball flew long and checked up great. Will be playing Snell from now on. Thanks, for the great product and price.

I love this ball. It flies straight and is great around the greens and off the putter. As long as you don’t hit the cart path too often to avoid easy scuffing, (reason it’s not rated a 5) you’ll get some rounds out of them. Best value around. The yellow is great.

Wow, what can I say? Normally play prov1x and the reds are are better in some aspects. Feels very similar but spins less. This translates into longer drives with my ss of 115 to 117 on trackman where 300+ yards happened more often for me than usual. Feel off driver and irons were just a touch harder but I dont mind. Spin was where the ball really shined. Driver spin decreased by 300 rpm and i was half an iron longer as well. My brother gave me a sleeve of reds to try and i just ordered a dozen more. I'm a fan of the smellys for sure!

The MTB black is the furthest, straightest golf ball I have ever played. I cannot recommend the Snell golf ball enough. I tested the black and the X both were great but I found the black to work best for my game. The Snell balls go at least 10 yards further than the pro-v and they fell softer too. I can’t wait to get on the course again with these pearls.

I'm a usual mid handicapper that is just starting to get a better feel for the game, gear and getting into researching how to optimize the game for my personal swing and playstyle. Now that my swing changes are mostly minimal, it felt time to really work on figuring out my optimal gear set. Before, I'd been playing Titleist Pro V1x's (refurbished and new) as I got into my current handicap, but have seen a huge jump in my driving performance using this ball. This is my new lifetime ball. I'm amazed at the low spin rates I can keep off of the driver, yet how much spin I get out of my best iron shots. I never thought playing a high quality golf ball (and having it brand new) would make such a difference, but I'm now a Snell MTB-X player forever. Hopefully, I can convert some friends to it as well.

66 years old, 8 handicap. Played ProV until I settled on Snell Black. Every bit as good as ProV For me BETTERI hit it 10 yards further w woods and irons. Ball is straighter w less spin, especially off driverGreen side stopping and spin is superior. PRICE IS KEY. Hope Snell doesn’t get carried away with success and price itself out of market he has developed.Highly recommended. Test pack is great idea.

I'm a newer golfer, high handicap (24) but trending down and have been focused on game improvement over the last 2 years. Finally decided to see what a better ball could do for me and after reading the article in GolfSpy I bought some MTB-X balls. I played my first round yesterday with them and my buddy who knows my game very well said multiple times, ""you smoked that drive"" and ""that checked up nicely"". Even out drove him a (10) handicap on a few holes. A noticeable difference on the first round... MTB-X 4 LIFE!

These outperform every premium ball out there, regardless of price. After Nike broke my heart and stopped making the RZN Black, I tried the Bridgestone Tour B series, the Srixon Z Star series, and both Pro V1s to try and find a suitable replacement. The Bridgestone came close, but the MTB X is longer off the tee and spins more around the green for me. My father switched from Chrome Soft to the MTB X and promptly gained 15 yards off the tee as well as 5 more yards with his irons along with more accuracy from both. These can't be beat.

My son is 13 years old and was sitting at a 16.5 handicap for the last year or so. He wanted to get a better golf ball so I looked online and found the MTB-X via the MyGolfSpy golf ball review.Since switching over his handicap has dropped to a 9 and his driver distance has gone from 215 yards to over 245 yards. Although the yardage increase looks great, its the putting and chipping that he raves about the most. He now has more distance control over his chips and the ball just pops off his putter right online which has allowed him to slow down his putting stroke and focus in much more.I guess its time for me to switch as well and will give my review after a few rounds.Great work SNELL!

I’ve been a scratch golfer for over 30 years and I’ve played every ball around. This ball is as good as any ball I’ve ever played. It feels a tad softer to me than a prov1. Flies true and long. Stops without over spinning off the irons. Bites well when chipping. Feels solid when putting. I may never play another prov1 unless I find a new one in the woods and then I’ll probably give it to someone else.

I am completely blown away by these balls. I ordered a test pack and have played a few rounds now. I started off testing the MTB X, and figured I'd play a few holes with it and then try the MTB Black. Well, 3 rounds in, I have yet to try the Black. I legitimately feel that this ball has made me better. The spin off the driver is consistent with a ProV1-X, but the spin control around the greens is unbelievable. When I say control, I mean consistency. I've gone from anywhere between a 2-10 yard zip on the greens to complete drop and stop, giving me more controlled access into tight pins knowing I'll stay on the tier I land on. The cover is unbelievable also. Have been playing the same ball for 2 rounds, and absolutely tagged a rough cart path that winds through a landing zone with barely a nick, much less a scuff or cut. All in all, impressive ball. Thanks Dean! Will be placing my order soon once I get around to trying the Black.

I tried the test pack and for me the MTB-X is the clear winner, not only over the MTB, but over all the tour balls available. Great feel and sound off the club face for me the MTB is too soft and felt ""heavy"" off the club face. I have a insert face putter and the MTB felt too soft off of it, as well, but so does a ProV1.These are also very durable. I have played a couple of the balls for two rounds and hit some cart paths with only minor scuffing, more discoloration really. One ball did lose a small patch of paint, but no tear or fuzzy spots like I'd get from the biggest name in golf flagship product. Most importantly, the MTB-X spin the perfect amount for me, checking up within a foot on most iron shots from 6 iron through the wedges. Today I played a 4 club scramble and was sticking PW from 60 yards to elevated greens with just a couple of feet rollout from the pitch mark.I sent the MTBs I had from the test pack to my pops to test out.Thank you Dean!

I'll be honest, there has been a lot of hype over these new balls on the market that you can't buy in stores and come direct from the manufacturer, and I was 100% skeptical that any of them could preform next to a ProV1/ProV1x. Boy was I wrong. I purchased the Test Pack and ultimately feel in love with how the MTB-X played in my game. Long, high, and the perfect amount of spin. I will never purchase another golf ball again other than the MTB-X. It actually took me three rounds to realize that I wasn't just swinging faster and my ball was actually going between 7-15 yards further. Just knowing that allows me to swing easier, getting better contact, and knowing I will still be longer than any other ball on the market. Do yourself a favor and spend less money for a better ball. You will 100% not regret it. I know I didn't.

I bought two dozen balls, one yellow and one white. The performance is great and I love the feel of them. However I've had some quality issues with the yellow balls. Three balls put into play all had scratching and the outer cover was damaged in less than two holes. None of them hit trees, cart paths, or anything abnormal. It's possible they hit a sprinkler head, but other than that nothing abnormal. I haven't noticed this issue on the white balls, but if I end up buying more I would steer clear of the yellow balls.

I have been trying several golf balls over the past two years (oddly enough, starting with the original MTB). ProV1's (and ProV1x), Bridgestone, TP5/x, Vice Pro+, Chromesoft-X, Volvik, Kirkland 4-piece (no longer available). All of them performed well.MTB-X came out as long, if not longer than all. The feel is exactly what I'm looking for off the driver and irons (When it says ""firm"", do not translate that into ""stone"" - it is a nice feel on contact). The workability is fantastic. The spin, for me, is perfect. Struck well, they just stick on the greens. But most balls had some, if not all of those characteristics. The consistency is what sold me on Snell (also the reason for the title). Their QA must be amazing, because the only balls that were similar were the ProV's. Not sure why, but I feel more confident with the Snell. If you are reading reviews to convince yourself to try - do it. Do a full box of the MTB-X. By the last sleeve, you'll understand.Cheers.

The MTB-X is the best golf ball I have ever experienced. I have a good launch monitor at home so I compared the MTB-X with many other major brands. The MTB-X gives the best ball speed while keeping the spin low and in check. I prefer the slightly firmer feel which provides a very solid sensation when you flush it. The sound is also second to none. Just solid and pure. Around the green, the ball is just as good as ProV1X or any other comparable balls. The skin is very durable and will not be easily scuffed as the Taylormade TP5 and TP5X do. I definitely recommend this ball over any other brands or even the previous Snell MTB or Red.

I bought a dozen of the MTB Black and MTB X Gave the MTB Black to my buddy. His dad gave him a few to try and he really liked the ball. I wanted to try the MTB X so played 3 rounds with the X. The ball plays every bit as well as the Pro V1. I get a very consistent trajectory off the driver and irons. Mid/high flight with little movement left or right. The flight in the wind is strong. I am definitely longer with the driver and more consistently in the fairway. The irons carry a half club longer for me and in the shorter irons it is pushing almost a full club longer. Feels great off the face and positive feedback with the putter. I missed 3 fairways on my last round. One found a fairway bunker another was just a few feet off the fairway and one went through the dogleg. The ball is very durable. I hit down pretty hard with my wedges and after two rounds with one ball I had a barely noticeable scuff from a bunker shot. I feel like the ball is more accurate staying on line better for me. I will continue to play this ball.

This ball does everything that I expect from a quality golf ball, just at a cheaper price point. The performance is right up there with the major OEMs. At the very least those who are skeptical should give these golf balls a go. For me the major selling point of this product is the performance and affordability. I have always used a tour caliber ball for the performance characteristics, but I am not a tour caliber player so spending $50+ on a dozen of balls was always hard to swallow. Snell has brought a tour caliber product to the market at a reasonable and downright affordable price. I am looking forward to trying the MTB-X in the future.

Found a Snell Get Sum ball in the rough and decided to play it. Finished the round by hitting every fairway - a big improvement for me. I immediately ordered a dozen and played 25 holes with the same ball! They go straight off the tee and are soft with irons. I finally broke 80, and I am giving the credit to this ball. I hit every fairway and was on in regulation, every green - a first for me. I am retiring my other soft feel balls in favor of these Snells. The price is great and shipping fast.

Yes...the price is excellent. But these aren't a value golf ball (I'm looking at you Vice and Cut!). Those balls are cheap...as it, poor quality. This ball is inexpensive...as in, great value! But more over...the urethane cover, the dimple pattern, and three piece ball make this every bit a ProV1X but maybe better...why? As a 6.5 HDCP I play the blues on most courses and shoot high 70's most rounds. I have been playing the ProV1X for about 6 years...and then I switch to Snell mid-season, and it happened. 71!!! ONE UNDER PAR! Best round of life. 5 birdies, three were irons hit to about 2' or less. (including a 210 yard par 3 that needed about a foot rollout to be an ace.) When I slice my driver, this ball seems to straighten up mid-flight. When I pure an iron, the ball will back up or just sit on the green. (never done that before) On chips it checks, on putts it clicks. This is THE BALL!

I have played every $30+ ball on the market and have found some things I like about most of them. I have been reading about Snell for a while and was a little hesitant. I found the MTB Black in a local store so I tried them. I was so impressed I went back the next day to buy the rest they had. I ordered the MTB X to compare and found a problem...USGA rules won't let me tee with the Black, then use the X into the green!I find the Black a little bit longer for me off the tee. I love the spin of the X. So, I am sticking with the X so I can attack the pin with the knowledge it will stick. My H.I. is trending from 15.9 to 14.2 in the 3 weeks! Snell is by far the best ball out there. If you don't play these, you must not want better scores!

I bought a dozen to try this week. I play Pro V1's normally. I ended up playing the best round of golf in my life with this ball. I see no need to play the Pro V1 anymore. The MTB Black is everything I want in a ball and is very affordable. Thank you Dean.

I watched youtube two weeks ago and saw a review from Clay Ballard and decided to spend the money on MTB black. I turn 50 next year and just got back into golf last year after 6 years off. I played Wal-Mart nitro balls for those two years because I figured a ball is just a ball. I played today at Orchard Vali which is South of Syracuse NY and it was cold with some windy conditions. This ball launches of the tee. Almost drove two 325 par 4's and each drive was over 300 yards using the Rouge driver. I didn't see a high up rise off the tee and when two guys allowed me tee off to pass them on a par 5, they said holy """""""""""""""""" that was crushed. Plus, just one ball was played for 18 holes. I'm sold on this ball and will continue to buy them when needed. The deal of buying 5 is great, however, to steep for me if I'm not losing balls. A better value on 3 dozen would sell me. Thanks, love the ball and will spread the word.

Both balls great......be sure to test from 150 yards, 80-100 yards and green side chipping to see which one performs best for you. MTB-X spins more for me with a firmer feel than MTB Black. I will never buy ProV‚Äôs again !‚õ?Ô?è‚õ?Ô?è‚õ?Ô?è

I used to be a 8 handicap as a teenager then fell out of the golf scene in college and my early working days. This year I was able to get back into the sport to the tune of 1-3 times per week. My game quickly came back so I decided to do some ball research to hoping give myself a high performing ball while spending less than $50/dozen. I soon found Snell Golf and took the plunge, ordering the value pack of the MTB Black without ever hitting one. I could not be happier with that decision. Since pulling the trigger, I have occasionally swapped back and forth between the MTB Black and the ProV1 in an effort to test, compare and contrast to see if I could identify any clear differences. I've got nothing, so price and value win out. I'm driving the ball between 290-310 yards. I'm spinning short irons, backing up wedges and checking pitch shots. Tremendous bang for the buck. I'm now sporting my Snell Golf hat and spreading the word on my experience. I'm playing the best golf of my life (personal best 18 of 73 this year) and now have an affordable, tour level ball to bring along for the ride. Thanks Dean and the rest of the Snell Golf team! You have yourself a satisfied, repeat customer.

I have been playing with Snell balls since 2017 and find them as good as any ball on the market at near half the price. I get the distance, ball flight and action around the greens suited for my game (8.8 HC). I find no reason to switch or pay more for an equal (at best) ball.

I’ve played Pro V 1X for many years. I am a low double digit handicapper and loved the Pro V and Pro V1X balls, but did not love the price. Played TP5. Loved it, but not the price. Until playing the MTB Snell I never thought I could find a ball just as good for substantially less money. The ball is great! Great softness, distance and nice back spin on wedge shots. My next purchase of balls will be Snell MTB 5-dozen pack and save even more. Why waste money on TP5 of Pro V balls when you can get the same results with Snell?

First round today, couldn't hit this ball crooked, every shot was straight and straight is not my normal. I've switched balls a lot but I'm playing this one from now on. Who doesn't want straighter and longer.

Grabbed one of these when I finally decided to take the plunge buying 5 dozen MTB-X balls. This New Era stocking hat doesn’t disappoint. Heavy, interior lined winter/cold weather hat that feels soft and keep you warm looking good doing it. Great hat for the $

I would defy you to find any performance differences between this ball and the other balls on the market costing 60% more. I tested balls for Titleist for several years and could always see a difference in each ball. The MTB-X feels and performs as well if not better than the ProV in every facet of the game. Including putting which is so important. Will never go back. Thank you Mr. Snell!

Excellent performing golf ball. Distance is on par, if not better than anything I’ve tried to date. Feel is slightly on the firmer side but not harsh or clicky at all. Great spin off the irons. Excellent grab with chips and pitches.Performance wise, I can’t argue that it is an excellent ball. Unfortunately, durability is an issue. My biggest complaint is that the logo paint wears off. I’ve had it completely wear off during a round, to the point that it was difficult to identify my ball. It doesn’t seem to affect performance but I have to admit, its unsettling to look down on a golf ball after only a few holes to see the Snell logo nearly completely rubbed off. Makes me wonder what other QC issues could be present. Dean, please fix this.

Been playing with them for almost 2 months and will be my go to ball from now on:Pros:- Overall good ball value from the price point- Hold and check on the green nicely- Great feelCons:- Durability: they get scuff marks very easily with iron/wedges shots. Haven't been able to get a full round with scuff marks as I do get when using ProV1x.

I always try the new kid on the block...Kirkland, Snell, etc. Love the original KSig 4 piece and its crazy price--still have a few left. Tried the Snell Get Sum, Red and recently the MTB-X. The latter is a great ball for me and I am sticking with it...until I see some new kid on the block. Seriously, I am very happy with the X and would recommend you give it a try. Thanks, Dean!

I played 18 holes yesterday with some MTB Black donated and recommended from a co-worker. Such a great feel and amazed myself as well as my playing partner as to how quick this ball checks up on full and greenside iron shots. A well struck 100 yard shot hit pin-high and stopped immediately, accommodating me with a 3 footer for my only Birdie of the day. This round solidified my decision to make the change and stop paying 'extra' for the PV1. Great product Dean Snell...keep up the great work!!!

Just wanted to say the MTB x is an absolute gem. I’m a loyal prov1x customer but wanted to try the mtbx bc I’m going to Kiawah and wanted a ball that won’t break the bank! I didn’t believe the hype but this ball goes far and feels great! Feels great around and on the green too. I will not be buying another box of prov1x as long as this ball is around! Thanks Dean for making this ball!

I always wanted to try a great golf ball, so my daughter bought me the Snell mtb-x I was excited to use this ball, but when I hit the ball with my drive I would loose about 25 yards on my drive.I have cheap golf balls that play a lot better. I have a swing speed of about 95 mph. I used them now for putting practice. I have never written a review, but I was really disappointed.

So the only thing these bad boys are missing is a dark gray or black underside to the brim. I've seen a few other brands do that and it makes such a difference reducing glare on bright days I don't think I can go back.

For a fast swinger like myself (120ish swing speed) this ball is awesome with the driver. Longest premium ball I've ever tested (and I've test literally all of the tour ball offerings on a launch monitor). It gave me nice low spin numbers, 3 mph more ball speed and 10 extra yards of carry.Plenty of spin with irons, they hold and check on the green nicely.A little clicky with the short game, but that's just a feel preference... means nothing for actual performance.... Which is phenomenal tee to green. These are my go to ball now... even if they were the same price as ProV's or TP's.
