Once we get signed with a salesman we got no communication except one phone call saying the date the mover would be there. No project manager checked up On us. No boxes were offered, nothing . My mover decided that he would not help pack the TV’s and pictures (we bought the boxes) So we ended up leaving three TVs and 10 pictures behind. We did a pre-walk but he did not do a final walk before they left. He left both my hoses behind even though I told him I wanted to take them. He called halfway through the supervisor saying we were taking up too much room with boxes. (We had sold most of our furniture). He did not do an inventory on each piece of furniture and or a box. We found multiple boxes left behind and had to ship them FedEx. The two helpers he hired stole some of my things. At our destination, there were parts missing for both of our beds so they did not get put together. Multiple boxes were crushed and tabs tabs were broken because of the way they were packed and smashed in the truck. We now have to file a claim to get things that were broken or missing. It was the worst move, (and we have had over 15 moves) we have ever had.

The local company they contracted with was horrible and because of that is is barely 2 stars. The coordinator who was supposed to keep us informed was terrible, we had to track her down several times instead of her calling us. She was supposed to call the day before the loaders came but we didn’t hear anything at all. After several phone calls and emails we heard from her on the day of our move, talk about stressful. Our truck arrived and the driver told us the unloading crew never showed up so he scrambled to find someone to unload. The boxes we packed were in terrible shape, many smashed to the point of being delivered opened. Many items were damaged and furniture scratched. Horrible experience. While it was mostly issues with the local company, it is North American’s responsibility to vet these people out. Wish I never used this company. So horrible.

This was our third move to a new state in 6 years and the absolute worst experience. Lack of communication from the beginning. The crew who showed up to load the truck were very unprofessional-they kept using our chargers and we’re on the phone constantly, left trash all over the house and yard, we paid to have our beds disassembled but they claimed they didn’t have tools. We let them use our tools but they only disassembled 2 of 5 beds. We still have no idea where the hardware is for those two beds and had to buy new in order to put them back together ourselves. Salesman John promised our driver would take our truck to new state and would tell us a delivery date at pickup. Driver was only taking 45min into city. No one could tell us where our truck was for a few days. At this point John stopped returning our calls completely and Tia (our contact at the local North American/Beltmann office) would rarely communicate. We finally called the local company. They let us know they’d tried to communicate with Beltmann since they originally reached out with no return communication but they would not accept our load and had no one available to unload. A couple hours later the local person called to say our truck arrived unlocked and our things unsecured in the back half. He tried to tell the driver he wasn’t accepting it because he didn’t have man power to unload but the driver responded ‘I’m just the driver, not my problem’ and left. Thankfully the local person was kind enough to lock for us. Our truck full of our entire house had been unlocked for days as it traveled from Georgia to Texas. When I called Tia, she had no idea where my truck was and that it had been left, unlocked at a company who wasn’t going to accept the job. I asked her manager (Tari) to call and was told he needed to look into it and would call later. He finally called days later, promising to follow up the day of our unload and it’s been 1 week with no communication. Finally the unload was within the range stated, the unload crew commented on the ‘rookies’ that loaded. Shovels and sledge hammers fell out on them as they opened the side door. We did have damage to some our our goods but not enough to meet our deductible. Absolutely would never recommend this moving company. We’ve moved multiple times and never experienced this level of unprofessionalism and lack of communication.

Overall good service by the crews who picked up a delivered. Scheduling was a little dicey and while they said the driver would call one day before delivery that did not happen. Nonetheless they delivered on commitment. Suggest requiring your drivers to have GPS so we can track our shipments

This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. The driver didn't communicate, I sat around for 2 days (vacation days I had to take from work) waiting for him to show up, which Che finally did more than 30 hours after the scheduled delivery time. Office in Michigan closed at 5pm on Friday and left me hanging with no way to reach my driver who wasn't returning texts or calls. Had to spend $200 for hotel because delivery was late and I'm being told there will be no compensation for missed work or hotel because my stuff still arrived within the delivery window. In essence, the driver can tell you any random date and time and not communicate or show up but as long as he eventually arrives within "the window" you have no recourse. Really poor customer service and complete disrespect for customer. They charged. This move cost more than $5000, charged to my card before they showed up so it seems that once North American gets your money any concern they have for you as a customer goes out the window.

NorthAmerica had the best drivers I can imagine. Adam and Steve were absolutely the best. Extraordinarily positive, respectful, helpful, kind, careful and fast! They never quit moving but treated EVERYTHING like it was valuable. They were positive the whole time, from loading, to driving, to unloading. They did an amazing job of padding and wrapping my furniture. If we ever have to move again WE WANT THEM!! They kept me informed, and are two of the nicest, hardest working, most honest guys we could have hoped for. They made a cross country move a lot less stressful. I can’t say enough good things about both of them. This grandma would be so proud if they were in our family!!

Initial meeting with rep was great. After that, overall experience was fair to good- and we probably wouldn’t change our decision, given our short time frame for moving. But, there were a handful or so of hiccups between administration and the actual driver and moving team. The result was unnecessary anxiety, delays, and questionable decisions. We’re still waiting to get our final bill/refund of items. If we move again in the future, we would consider northAmerican in the mix, but they’re not a “slam dunk” based on this most recent experience.

The drive was nice and his helper was nice. Several items were broken, my riding lawn mower, two pieces of furniture, and a bench. Some of the totes and boxes were smashed. I haveyopened everything yet but I’m hoping nothing else is broken. The people you hired to unload were great but I witnessed them drop several boxes. This moving company is NOT good. They were a day late in loading me and only a fourth of my load made it to its destination a week late. Most of my furniture is still sitting on the dock in Oregon where they loaded me. Late on delivery for the portion of stuff that did delivered at it’s destination. Have no idea when I will every get the rest of my furniture delivered as no one knows or doesn’t want to tell me. Lot of furniture was broken. My end table, my cedar chest, my California pillow mattress was soaking wet and one of the box springs was dripping wet. This company sucks. I would never recommend them to anyone. Can’t get them to return my calls. Leave messages all over the place with no return calls. I am very frustrated and upset. I want my furniture. Help, help.

Crew was great. Sales man terrible. We did a FaceTime estimate where he saw everything. He then gave me price. We decided to donate most of our furniture. To review we donates 3 of the 4 bedroom sets also family room and living room glass Kitchen Table and dining room table also donated out side furniture 15 piece set to include 2 tables ,fire pit,torch heater ,barbecue and generator. We also were charged for 3 crates and didn’t need any. When I called salesman he said scale must have been off. I was told to pay and price would be adjusted. Still have not heard from anyone. I will give it till the end of the week. Than I will use social media to let everybody know what a scam this company is running.

The driver was great and got all of our stuff to our destination in good shape. The things that were negative was not knowing an approximate time that the moving truck was coming to pick our stuff up and that was an inconvenience. I had to keep emailing and calling about it. One person told me it would be the morning and then another person told me a different time and then they didn’t show up until the afternoon. The truck was a day late getting our stuff to us so I think the time frame that they give you should be a bit better. I never got a receipt when I paid the driver and when I contacted the office, they said that the cashiers check that I paid with should be good enough. I then emailed them about just getting something showing what I paid on a letter head so I could get reimbursed for our move and I have not received a response. I’m not sure I will ever use this moving company again because they just didn’t make our move as smooth as possible and moving across the country was stressful enough.

My experience was incredibly frustrating. I was told I would have an estimated delivery date on the day of my pickup but unfortunately I didn't know when my items would be delivered until well after the delivery window provided. It took OVER ONE MONTH for our belongings to be delivered. In addition, the communication was terrible. I had to reach out to the company on every occasion to get updates and was frequently told I would be contacted with updates, but wasn't. The one positive is that the movers were professional on both ends. Otherwise it was a very disappointing experience overall.

They moved our family from NY to GA and could not have been more helpful. Our driver, Jose, was so diligent, and his team in both states worked so hard and knew exactly what they were doing. The actual packing was excellent. The virtual estimate was below acceptable as the actual cost far exceeded the estimate. Accessories services were on the bill I paid but no accessories services were provided: large vase crates, washer/dryer shipped, etc. was told I would not have to pay for the services not used; however, still waiting for refund.

Absolute worst customer service experience of my life. A total and on going nightmare. Not enough words to express how horrendous the experience was. Please, find some other company to do your move. Absolutely no customer service as well as complete lack of regard for your belongings. Boxes marked “fragile” or “glass” ended up on the bottom of the heap. Items for storage ended up at the house and vice versa. Sales guy completely under estimated the amount of storage needed. And of course didn’t return my call. Do not let them sell you on the idea they have a partner who can remove and crate items for you. I moved over a week ago and am still waiting for this to be sorted out and hear when they plan to deliver those items. Do not use these people unless you are looking for an epic nightmare.

Terrible. No sense of customer service, Managing expectations, and communication. Everything was blamed on the pandemic yet no one communicated this when we signed up. They promised one date and delivered almost two months later. There were no updates. Our truck showed up without notice and we just happened to be at house. It is the most damage that I have ever had in my 10 major moves. Antiques were tossed around and damaged. When items were moved into the house they were just dropped wherever and our instructions were ignored. We still can’t determine if everything is here. This is the 4th time NA has moved me and I will never use them again. I would never recommend Matheson. Mark’s moving also disappointed. It’s been a week and the promised call after the chaotic delivery from Phil hasn’t happened. The is company and its reps don’t understand customer service or how personal a move truly is to the family involved.

Hard working friendly crew made us feel super comfortable with the packing up and unloading of our home. Very professional packers as we had no breakage of fragile items or damage to furniture. All in all a great experience from the walk through estimate to the delivery at our new home. Customer service was excellent as well. All in all we felt like we were in good hands through the whole process. No doubt the prospect of moving can be stressful and overwhelming but we were confident in Jim, Dave and the rest of the crew to guide us through.

The problems were at the pick-up end. We had painted before movers came. We found a wallet on top of closet that was freshly painted and a ring box on a window sill, that had already been painted so none of these items were there. Both these items were in my top dresser drawer. The wallet was empty, I keep old wallets in that drawer. The ring box held a ring that my oldest bought me for Mother’s Day when he was 7, for a $1.00. The sentimental value is irreplaceable. Everything of any valued was already moved, so shame on whoever did this. Items were picked up 7/13 with a guaranteed delivery date of 7/23. Did not hear from anyone until several calls the weekend of the 23rd and finally heard back that delivery would be the 27th. $300.00 for the late delivery is going to a night out for the aggravation of the last week. I wish you could breakdown the ratings because Kevin and his crew on the delivery end were A-1. They were fast, efficient and followed directions of placement of furniture. Great job Kevin and crew.

I have moved a lot in the past twenty years. I consider myself a professional of relocating. There are certain aspects of NorthAmerican moving I would give 5 stars - packing, driver, and even the initial consult. There are certain aspects I would give zero stars - customer service and the move manager I was assigned. I don’t feel the need to name names for an online review. I do know that if/when my family moves again, I will not be calling northAmerican moving. There is enough competition out there and I’ve had other well deserved 5 star companies move my belongings. I wish I could give them 5 stars because many aspects were top notch. Unfortunately, the zero star aspects of my move were frustrating beyond words.

The pick-up and loading in California went very smoothly. The team was professional and took great care of me. The opposite review for the unloading in Ohio. Team was not the same caliber and one of the men was extremely rude. He was in a hurry and broke 2 pieces of irreplaceable pottery. NA also lost multiple boxes including over 75 pairs of shoes, clothes and all of my outdoor furniture cushions. I would not recommend or use NA again.

The actual move process was great. The packers and movers at the origin did a super job. The destination team was even better. What didn’t give this move a five star rating was the lack of communication from the Dallas office. I was the one initiating all communication and only occasionally did the team there contact me with updates. And there were many updates since the team had to change my pickup day several times. In a service organization, the worse thing is silence. As you advertise, a move is very stressful and timelines need to be kept.

If I could leave zero stars for this organization I would. I ended up purchasing my own wardrobe boxes (no reimbursement), packing for hours, have been charged for a full service move when half of my things are still at the place of origin and more. I paid for the crating of a chair that was not built properly according to my delivery driver. I KNOW the damage is going to be massive with this move. I know this because I was shown pictures of my crushed and unwrapped items that remain in the warehouse. Darlene has been the only person keeping me informed about my belongings. In short, it has been close to a month and half of my items remain at the place of origin.

Not happy. My property arrived 8 days late, and in a Uhaul truck instead of the large truck I had been expecting. It was a driver who had contracted with North American, and drove my belongings in a Uhaul truck. and I wasn't allowed time to check things off on my inventory paperwork. I had been staying with a relative so didn't incur lodging costs, and I had my stuff delivered to a storage unit. When I filed a claim for delay of delivery, which was suggested to me by the originators of my North American move, the claim was refused because it was waiting in storage in Texas utility a driver could be found to bring it to Tennessee, which was not part of our original agreement. Overall this move went off track from the very start and only got worse. I will mot be contracting with NorthAmerican for any future needs and will be sure to inform other potential customers of my negative experience during this botched service/experience.

My experience has been really good. My driver was Mr. Rashawn and he was such an amazing soul to work with. He communicated effectively with me and I never felt like I was disconnected from my items or experience. All of my items were handled with care. When he dropped off my items he arrived alone, so it would have been nice to see him have more help to unload items, but overall he was amazing and my experience waa great. I would definitely work with them again.

We moved from Texas to New York and overall it was a good experience. Customer service was responsive and accomadating. The initial packers were good. The team loading the truck and packing the furniture was needs improvement. Furniture was not protected properly, resulting in deep scratches and broken wooden pieces in a few furniture. The team unloading the furniture was great!

Awful. The driver and his helpers were moving things haphazardly at origin and placing things on the truck without tagging. Driver dropped television on its face and would not allow us to place a few other items into a box for safe transit. Communication was nonexistent and if I had not been constantly calling/texting for updates there was no follow up (both for pickup and dropoff). Driver failed to provide updates and provided the wrong date of arrival without so much as a courtesy reach out to let me know that he was arriving the day after he told me he initially communicated. I took a day off work only to then have to take another day off work to receive my stuff at destination. Upon delivery several boxes were missing with others damaged. Items the driver would not let us box were damaged. My television was damaged. This was a nightmare and I am thoroughly disappointed considering we went with a big name for peace of mind. My wife was 8 months pregnant and the lack of professionalism we experienced caused us so much stress. We still do not know the extent of items damaged/missing since items went into a storage facility for the time being.

I chose North American because of the 11 moves across the country in 5 states...they were by far the best! Unfortunately, this move by Republic NA was by far the worst. Here is a summary of the issues we suffered so far: There was no coordination during the entire move. This team struggled the entire time and had to call for additional help. The packing team did not know that I came to the wherehouse and bought $337 of boxes to do my own packing. I was assured a reconciliation would be done to give me credit for my packing and materials already paid for. They came 2 hours late and cost me about $326 in elevator and staff overtime. While we were told we would get the "A team" considering our high end property eg $22,000 Italian Leather Motorized Sofa, High end AV Home theater equipment, extensive Art work, and an American Leather king sleeper Sofa, etc, etc. We received a cheaper bid from United but chose North American based on our past positive experience. Well, the aforementioned Sleeper Sofa ended up half in WA and half in CA. I made special emphasis that it had to be taken apart to remove it from the condo and added extra labor in the bid to take it apart. The team that came had no idea that it had to be taken apart and wasted time trying to get it out of the room. They waited until the end of the day to try and dismantle it, gave up and left it there. Unfortunately they had already loaded the 6 leather sofa cushions on the moving truck. Our shipment arrived 2 days late in WA. The driver had the wrong phone number and was waiting for 2 hours until I showed up wondering what was going on. The driver and his wife from Allied Van lines had no move team because "they were in an accident and at the hospital." I paid top dollar for a major national moving company not a husband and wife team. I felt sorry for how hard they worked and became the 3rd man on the unload team as much as I could. The manifest was incomplete, unreadable, boxes missing, and unlabeled which will make it extremely difficult to know what is what. We are missing a new Vacuum (in the original box) and quite possibly many other items. Packing was sub-standard eg very expensive, fragile china was not individually wrapped but spices from the kitchen were over packed. The crew chief was constantly correcting one of the packers for not packing correctly. We did finally receive compensation for the damaged and lost items.

We were extremely pleased with our Driver Ahmed and the people who helped load in GA and the ONE person who unloaded in Missouri. We are however extremely disappointed in John Postel who came to Sell us on the Beltman Group. He made sure we knew he was the number 1 salesman; and that’s exactly who he was a Salesman. After initial contact and contract signed he was no where to be found. We spent 9 hours at the site of our unloading because only one person showed up to help the driver. When I tried to reach out to John there was no reason. I got a hold of Tia and she called back but there was no more contact since. While we understand it is a busy time for moving companies. It is poor customer service not do return correspondence and at least compensate for our time.

Movers were very prompt & courteous. I give them 5 stars. Our patio table was shattered during delivery. I was told not to worry, it would be replaced no problem. However, not so much. It was a problem. MY PROBLEM. I was then told the next day I had a $500 deductible I wasn’t aware of (after paying close to $8,000 for good service…). My glass table was 8 years old but in good condition but not worth $500. So… now I have to buy a whole new set which is rough when one has so many other moving expenses, take the cost of moving the WHOLE set 2 states down as a total waste, AND I have to pay someone to come & take away the 6 chairs and empty table frame. Not happy

Their movers were extremely hard workers. They listened to all of my instructions and concerns. They kept in touch with me so I would know when to expect them for the pick up and where it was being delivered to another state, I was kept in the loop for the delivery. They inventoried everything and it was flawless. I would recommend this company anytime!
