  I purchased my watch as a graduation gift. After wearing it for one day something was wrong with the mechanics, it wasn’t keeping time and was no longer functioning properly. I emailed Hamilton and was told simply to “wind the watch.” I then called had had terrible customer service on the phone. I then disputed the charge after dealing with the customer service and asked for a return label to give back the broken watch. Days later because I hadn’t return the watch immediately I received an incredibly rude phone call during dinner demanding an explanation. I won’t be buying anything from this company again.

  Navigation on the site is weird. Even if you search for the exact item description, you may not be able to find it without the model number. But dealing with Hamilton is wonderful. They filled the item either the day or or day after (I forget which) and it arrived quickly and required a signature so it was secure.

  The poor rating is because of the very poor experience with actually receiving the watch in a timely manner. I know it may seem that this would be the fault of the carrier and not Hamilton, however, Hamilton places delivery restrictions on your delivery that prevent you from making ANY changes to the watch delivery. I could not have the carrier hold it safely at a UPS facility where I could then go sign for and retrieve it. I could not provide a signed release on the note they leave at the door for them to leave it at the next delivery attempt. The only option, and I truly mean only, was to be present at your home at the time of delivery (at random). I had to speak with UPS customer service, then with a manager in order to convince them to even get a time window during which they would arrive, and this was the only adjustment that could be made. As a result of the restrictions placed on the shipment by Hamilton, my watch was almost returned to Hamilton after hitting the maximum of 3 missed attempts at delivery- the first 2 of which were attempted while I was at work. The last of which only worked out because I figured out a way to get UPS to make sure that the shipment arrived after working hours. In all it took 13 days to get the watch on 2 day air shipping, and considerably more effort on my part tracking and dealing with UPS than you would expect when purchasing a product from such a quality company. You have to provide customers with some ability to control the shipment of the product they purchase. Even if it is simply allowing them to have the carrier hold it for pickup.

  Love the nato strap from Hamilton. It has a nice break in to it and feels very comfortable after a few days of wearing it. It came with a tool for changing your strap which is nice too. Shipping was quick and came to my doorstep in a few days. I did however find that the straps themselves are quite small. I got a regular sized strap and it fits perfectly but my wrist isn’t that big so that’s something to consider. The leather strap I got with my khaki auto was very small though so I’m glad I got the nato strap instead.

  Straight forward purchase. Wish there were more information about the straps you offer. What type of leather, are they water resistant, what wrist size do they cover, or even are they 22mm with or without a taper. More pictures would be nice as well.

  I would give 5 but I purchase the watch as a gift for my son and was nervous about the return policy so I was stressed about ordering late and not getting it in time. I understand the need for a strict return policy but also feel it puts a burden on those purchasing as a gift to order last minute and then making sure it is good in case of the need to return .

  Have a black Hamilton Khaki Aviation Converter H76625530; which was paired with a brown strap and black buckle. WANTED a formal black leather strap with black buckle. Getting my watch strap was complicated. First the closure buckles and colour leather are paired incorrectly. Secondly what I wanted was available in the 22mm but not 20mm. Why would a watch company have 2 different lug sets for the same type watch is costly engineering stupidity. So SETTLED for a black duty strap with wings and dimpled leather paired with a silver buckle. Changed the silver buckle for black original buckle and disgarded the brown leather strap. Will not be using this watch formally instead using my Omega watch with formal leather.
