  Love the watch. Classy. Sophisticated. Elegant. Call it what you want. It's fantastic. I put it on an alligator leather strap, and it's what the kids would call "chef's kiss!" I know some dudes that put it on a NATO strap for the field. Kinda makes me think of the old Submariner adage... goes well in a suit or in swim trunks poolside.

I would recommend they specify whether mechanical watches are manual or automatic.   I had issues purchasing both the watch and accompanying straps. The first watch delivered had a faulty strap, in which one side disconnected from the watch case 12 times the day of delivery. (Issue #1). When I called customer support, they asked me to send in the entire watch for an exchange (I had expected them to only request the faulty band). I sent it in, following their instructions to receive an exchange. Instead they credited my credit card and treated it like a return (Issue #2). I called their support line and explained the situation. They asked that I re-order the watch from the website, which I did. The second watch has no issues. I wished to order two Hamilton straps for my watch: one of the two was for sale on the website; the second could only be ordered through customer service. I called customer service on April 30th to order the strap from the parts department (1-800-234-8463, then option 2 for parts). After being on hold for 15 minutes (issue #3), I was told that Hamilton was undergoing a computer system upgrade and that they could not take my order. They asked me to call back in a week (issue #4). On May 13th I called the Hamilton parts department again. This time I waited 30 minutes (issue #5), only to be told the computer system still wasn't ready and I should call the next week. On May 20th I called again. After being on hold 32 minutes (issue #6) I was routed to a recorded message saying the extension I had called was unavailable. It was exactly 3pm Pacific, which is 6pm Eastern. Notes that HamiltonWatches.com lists the hours for this phone number as "Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM EST". (Issue #7). On May 22nd I called again, only to be told that the computer system was still being upgraded and that they could not take my order. I again was asked to call next week. On May 28th I called the parts department for the fifth time. After being on hold 24 minutes (issue #8), I again received the automated message that the extension was unavailable. It was 3pm Pacific. This was the second time that they cut me off an hour before their published hours (issue #9). Yesterday, May 29th, I called again. After being on hold for over 40 minutes (issue #10), I at last was able to order the part. Hurray!!! Only to be told that the part was not in stock and was on backorder (issue #11). I placed the order and was told that I would receive the item in 4-6 weeks.

  The watch works. It lost 6 seconds in a month. I can live with that. Plus it’s sporty and doesn’t attract the attention of my Rolexes or JLCs. Great for traveling. The band could be a bit higher quality but it’s not a deal breaker.

  I am reviewing my second purchase from hamilton watch. My first watch I purchased locally and could not be happier with the experience. Or the product. My recent purchase directly from Hamilton Watch company was less than acceptable. First, the delivery service they chose too deliver the watch and required a signature showed up at 10:00 in the morning when 90% of Americans are working. How could they possibly expect a signature when 90% or more of people are not home. With that being said I have no problem going to pick up the watch myself. After first being denied the ability to pick up MY watch bought and paid for. I went through much hassle and wasted time, then was finally told by Hamilton watch Company I could go to the delivery company service center and retrieve my watch. I was sent an email confirmation with the date that the watch would be available for pick up. After fighting through traffic for 45 minutes and traveling across 2 cities to retrieve my watch.The service center laughed and said they don't have it and they don't know why I was told I could pick it up. After more wasted time and complaining the watch was delivered when I was home and readily available. After wearing my watch I found an odd curiosity. It seemed to be running very fast. After resetting the watch a few days in a row and leaving it in various storage positions. I was able to determine that it would run approximately 15 seconds fast in an 8 to 10 hour period. My first Hamilton watch only had to have the time reset every 6 months or so. By 2 or 3 maby 5 minutes at the most. Sometimes I leave the watch for the weekend and really test the limit of its running power time. So I think that is more then acceptable. I don't expect perfection. I called customer service and after being on. Hold for an extraordinarily long time. I gave up and sent an email. Keep in mind that was my third customer service phone call about this particular order. Two phone calls for shipping and one for a problem with the watch. After two and a half days I have heard nothing from customer service. I do believe in the hamilton watch company product. I am sure I will be purchasing more in the future. I have no doubt eventually they will get around to resolving this issue. It is just a real crappy thing to do, to have such disregard for your customer who is spending quite a bit of money for one item. For the average American they're lowest cost watch is more than half of the entire weekly paycheck.

  The strap i received was wildy too large. I used the online sizing tool, printed it twice to ensure I printed it at 100%. I used it to measure my wrist multiple times to be sure. Then I ordered a 7.5 inch steel strap with the blue Ventura watch. When I tried on the watch, the strap was so large the watch simply slipped around to the inside of my wrist. So again I measured with the online tool printed, and got the same result of 7.5 inches that I got before I ordered. The shipping receipt inside the box said the strap was 7.5 inches. So at least one of the following is what went wrong: A) You sent me a strap longer than 7.5 inches. B) The sizing tool needs to be printed at larger than 100%. C) The sizing tool is for a watch shorter than that Ventura, so the strap size is too long to compensate for the fictional longer wrist span. D) The online sizing tool is just horribly wrong. Also, the web site fails to mention that unlike any other strap currently or even recently, by any manufacturer, shortening the strap by removing links requires sending it to one of only three authorized service centers in the US, to be shortened by an indeterminate amount of money, with the customer’s sheer guess at how many links should be removed.

  Return process was horrible. Order shipped fast and was correct. I accidentally ordered the wrong strap size. Just wanted to replace with same strap in correct size. After over a month and 3 phone calls nothing was ever shipped out and kinda ruined the overall graduation gift. Clearly need improvements here. They do have nice customer support team and the last person i talked to reached back out to me and was able to refund my strap purchase.
