Purchased a Kodak Ektar 100 Color Negative Film (35mm. The pack itself is fine, but the delivery, what a joke. A one 36-exposure roll of 35mm film came in a massive box, at least fifty times the volume. Is this absolutely necessary when the item could have been tossed into a jiffy bag that would have fit into my mailbox rather than having to be picked up at the delivery office? $17 shipping for this little thing costing $9?

Placed an order online for my husband's birthday. However, there was a problem with their secure transaction server & they say the transaction didn't go through. Although it did work enough to suck off $700 from my account. The offered solution was to pay another $700 via another method or wait a week for the money to be returned to my account. Very disappointed with Fenway's customer service during this time. I placed an exigent order, requesting fast-turnaround delivery, but the shipment of my goods kept being delayed. Turned out the item wasn't even in their warehouse. It was impossible to get through to them as they have shut down their phone number and the wait to 'chat' online was always very long. In the end they couldn't promise a delivery date, and they did NOTHING to compensate me. Meantime my business has been without important camera equipment. Terrible experience.

Shop is very tranquil and not many customers, I Guess they have same experience like me so are not going there. The staffs are very rude. Specifically the old man. I was trying out a Linhof 6x9cm Technikardan 23S and it was not charged and the rude old fellow basically take it away from me! If Fenway wants to survive there they need to fire those staff and hire new friendly one. By the way I bought medium-format film camera after that experience.

Fenway Photo updated my underwater camera equipment after a decades-long lull. Mindful of my budgeting (and expense), but Stuart was absolutely fantastic! Helped me craft a list of everything I needed, and in fact saved me some money by suggesting alternative scooters I hadn't considered, and where I could get these at a great price. Excellent advice, took the time to help me set my stills up, and answered all my emails a week later when I had loads of questions about the wide angle port I had purchased. Excellent service, and would highly recommend anyone using Fenway Photo for any of your underwater camera needs!

A photo printers' wonderland, Inkjet, laser, large format, dye-sub, printer ink & toner cartridges, and print paper and more, brand names as well as makes you may not have heard of. It's a top-notch camera shop selling new digital cameras, lenses and used equipment. Terrible services if you have reserved something and they say that it is there and you want to make an order for it, then suddenly it appears that the reserved is no longer there As a result, because you want a new camera, you are "obliged" to buy a more expensive one and if you then ask if there is something to do about the price because they have made a mistake, nothing can come off I do know that I don't have to buy anything but they could have given some extras, for example an extra battery or a memory card

July 28th we ordered a catadioptric (cassegrain) telescope that was available according to the website. With all the understanding for the heavy traffic with the Covid lockdown we do not expect it to be delivered the next day. However, we are 16 days further and and no telescope yet. When you call the helpdesk they tell you that the order is ready for ups to transport. A third time you will hear that the product is not in stock. What I find typical, the website speaks differently. Now we want our money back, that's no problem. Only you have to wait 5 to 10 days. I find it ridiculous that there was a lie during our telephone conversations. We could have lived fine if there was an update about the delay. Or that an alternative is proposed. Conclusion; never again.

Yesterday I drove specially from Yorkville to New York to go to Fenway Photo. The store was easily accessible, parking was slightly more difficult, but you know that when you are in New York. The store is nice and large and there are many products on display. We were quickly asked if we could use help and after I had informed what I was looking for, all products were collected very quickly and I was allowed to view and test everything (comparing tripods). The explanation for the corresponding products was clear and the seller had clear understanding. After the purchase I got a hand from the seller (where do you get that nowadays ??) and I stepped out with a good feeling and very satisfied with my purchase. Probably next time I will use the web service because of the distance, but I am certainly glad I visited this store once.

Number of weeks ago I bought a Pentax 3-in-1 binocular at this store. After much consultation with the seller and comparison in the store this product came out and purchased (also the lowest price in the whole of New York's market). Delivered within two days and the best man from the delivery service brought the device up for me too. Good info, delivered quickly; enough reasons for me to buy a a laser rangefinder here a week later. If they continue with the low prices, I think I will buy things more often.

Brilliant customer service and some invaluable advice. Been to a lot of these photography stores and you just can't beat most old school shops. Prices here are better than mega stores and it gives me some piece of mind knowing the guy behind the counter actually knows what they're talking about. UNFORTUNATELY!!! I originally gave this store 5 stars but had to change my review after I spent $3000 for a camera kit only to find that the lense is missing and other important accessories. On top they tried to convince me that a point n shoot would replace my DSLR. I like local stores because of there expertise but this was a major/costly disappointment because it turns out that the guy beyond the counter was the farthest thing from an expert.

BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! I purchased my first camera from Hasselblad and it was not a quality one. They were just before closing time, the guy was in a big rush and seemed rubbed the wrong way about the fact that he had to wait another 5 minutes, it was obviuos! It was like he was doing me a favour...he even said the others are waiting for us to finish....1 week later 42nd Photo had a sale on the same Hasselblad, I called Fenway Photo store asking for a price match, they said it was not in their policy...WHY BUY AGAIN HERE???

Called the day before asked for stock regarding a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR was told multiple stock available no need to put on hold. I drove 1 hour to find out they only have one available which was the display model. There are finger prints on the camera minor scuffs on the exterior of the body from people handeling it poorly. I asked for a discounted price due to the inconvenience and overall condition was told “ we can still sell this for full price to other customers”. Great customer service. If anyone wants an abused camera for retail price it’s still there waiting for ya.

Lack of updates to their website regarding Leica cameras, calling is otiose as you seem to be bothering them. No vivid answer as to when product can or will arrive; number 1 reason. "well one supplier is usually sold out and another is extremely impossible to deal with and more expensive." Not the customers problem to hear, if you don't have it, don't pitch it. 42nd Photo is well stocked and displayed. other than that the other products they carry are cheaper either online or in other retailers.

I used to visit Fenway Photo Store when I lived in New York and having moved away, only recently discovered their online presence. Their website is contemporary and informative with very competitive pricing. When I had questions about a specific item, the phone support was top notch. I have placed orders 3 times this year (fuji x100v, lights, backpacks, lenses, circular filters) and each order was shipped and delivered very quickly. The team is very hospitable as demonstrated by their willingness to amend and change orders (even after the order was packaged)! Thank you for that, it saved me a few bucks but more importantly, made for exceptional customer service.

Saved a substantial chunk of money by going with Fenway Photo and because they're New York based there's no worry about extra tax or import duty. It was packaged securely and dispatched extremely quickly. Absolutely trouble-free process and based on my experiences, I'd highly recommend them to any of my photography mates. With the whacking savings, I've got myself a superior kit lens, a couple of batteries, desktop tripod, straps, lens cloth, a couple of gift cards and still spent less than just the camera would have cost from B&H Photos website=)

Disgusted! I ordered an OM-D E-M1 II and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 pro from Olympus. I'd always wanted a workhorse mirrorless camera and was really looking forward to receiving my order in 3-5 days, especially as I was planning to go to an Michigan Bike's Tour. As promised 5 days later I received my package but minus the 40-150mm lens. To say I was sunk in an abyss of despair and desperation. I'd chosen Fenway Photo over other suppliers as they seemed to have a comprehensive stock and although I had discussed with the sales team on the phone several times whilst awaiting my delivery not once did they mention that the long lens was not in stock. So sorry Fenway, even though I was otherwise happy with your service you only get one star for failing to deliver my whole order and for not informing me that items from my order were not in stock to ship within your 3-5 days.

I have bought a higher end Hasselblad from them being quite scared about the fact that my camera would be shipped from "Gray Market" but at the end of the day camera made in Sweden, product quality rating accepted on US website and 3 years of warranty instead of 1 from Hasselblad. Reliable place to buy Hasselblads gear and very helpful stuff. Week later my friend decided based on my recommendation to buy same camera from them and he was extremely happy with the whole experience. Both of us decided to pickup the gear directly from them. All in all highly recommended place just bit tricky to find it when you decide to pickup yourself. We will be back for any lenses or accessories' needs in the near future!

I travel all the way from Long Island, 1 hour 20 min ride, to rent or buy new kit, the staff are very cordial and enthusiastic, nothing is to much trouble, and they are very knowledgeable... Have acquired some very quality kit with them, and always had an awesome deal, in fact in most cases had a straight replacement for brand new kit. And above all, they allow demos I can test beforehand, after such a long relationship, that's very generous.... They don't rush you or try to mislead you into buying unnecessary "bells and whistles", and will demonstrate, and let you experiment, and get or feel an item. Theyre all renowned photographers handpicked to work for what they treasure most, and so will probably have technical details or the photographic knowledge or camera system at their fingertips. Have thoughout the years used Fenway Photo ordering cameras, lenses and even collecting my goodies in New York physically. But, I'll change shopping tack following the events of March 9: *Fenway Photo increased the price of a lens overnight after my order: *Package was shipped 2 weeks later than expected with no reason given. *Shipping address was altered to the wrong residence and they would not correct it. *I had to change the delivery location myself with UPS who thankfully rectified the address with little issue. ***Incorrect lens was shipped*** *Once refunded I have had to request my fees back as well. From start to finish, I don't think they could have tried to give me a worse service. Over 3 weeks to be back in the position I originally was at. Doubt I will be using them again no matter how persuasive the hype.

Forever their customer, having been well-treated with my first purchase. Ordered 2 Sigma lenses via their website on Monday night, both stipulated as "excellent" but not "Mint". I recently purchased a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 art generation lens pitched in mint condition. On arrival it turned out the the optical system was corrupted by a string of aberrations, color fringing, and distortion. This clearly hadn't been examined before advertising it and pushing it through the market. I made them aware and all they were prepared to compensate me for the inconvenience was $50. To replace this would cost $160. After a rather open email they came to their senses and recompensated me $160 to purchase a new one. A low rate due to the fact they were very unprofessional at the beginning and trying it on. I've spend a a lot of money with them over the last 12 months , and was prepared to cancel order and never deal with them again.

Poor communication and lip-service to my needs. I was told the wrong date for pick up. Fenway Photo didn't make any attempt to apologize for their mishap when I disclosed my frustration at having waited on the wrong date. On the second attempt I experienced problems with the courier, Fenway Photo did not follow this up or even accept my appeals. Everything worked out after 3 days of hassle, but I will not be using the service again.

If you're a Nikon user then this is the place to go for your bodies (Refurbished, Nikon USA) and lenses. Customer service is absolutely the best and the staff are incredibly enlightened. Excellent. Awesome is the first thing I said when I walked in. This is the best photography store I've ever been into, anywhere. I visit frequently twenty or more times a year and make a killing to grab the best used stuff, but this place puts roses back into my cheeks. I ended up with a few boxes of B&W 600 film by Polaroid, which is outcrowded out of the US market, and a decent Nikon F6 SLR 35mm camera, detailed manual for how to with Nikon speedlite, in a full case with accessories like the multi-power battery pack and a vello shutterboss remote switch. The 35mm camera stock in the back is reason enough to go have a look.

I dropped off some film here to be developed but Fenway Photo is a disappointment. The staff is friendly. However, I can always find markings on the films and accumulated dust every time. They don’t protect the rolls processed in a biodegradable bag, which makes hard to scan because of crippling the film itself. I don’t suggest you guys to develop film here.

I have reluctantly, after many failed attempts, decided to shop elsewhere going forward even if the prices are higher. First, you can get film cheaper in New York if you know the right people, and if having it shipped isn't a deal breaker, there are many more camera stores. The idea of having to interact with the staff has just become too much to deal with and I'm done feeling like 1) perfectly reasonable questions about products and services are dodged with irritating responses, 2) that I am generally not capable of buying expensive stuff, 3) that when conflicting statements by staff are brought up, these are categorically denied as lies.

Bought a used refurbished Nikon D7500 that was listed as boasting the same specifications from the top-of-the-range D500. for a weekend trip this weekend. Received instead the refurbished clone d7500 that is worth half the price of what I paid. It's been 10 days since I filed a BBB complaint and I've heard nothing. I had to cancel the entire trip and ended up losing a valuable deal for my studio. I hate to leave negative impressions and I sympathize with them over COVID problem but I am not happy with their service at all.

I placed an order for an EOS on August 4 2020, that they described "new item released in limited quality". No updates streaming in from their end, until I called many times for personal followup. They then directed me to the manufacture!? Later, I sent another email, dealing with wrong product and forever on hold on the phone (No calls from their associates either). No news on my order. One could be more considerate given COVID 19, but this inordinate time without followup is completely insane. Not the customer service that you expect or at least deserve. Buyer Beware!!
