  I purchased iron balusters and flat and angled shoes to refinish my staircase. I split my order up to avoid higher shipping costs. One shipment was packaged well with no damage. The second package was not packaged well and most of the balusters had nicks and scratches. I send an email with pictures of the damaged parts within the 2 days of shipping and followed up with a call. The customer service was awesome; they immediately resent the new balusters with no hesitation. It took 3 shipments to get good parts which I was okay with because I wasn't ready to start the baluster replacement and, I didn't have to sent back the damaged balusters. One additional concern - I made sure that I received all of the shoes I order, but I didn’t think to check that each shoe had a screw. Some of the shoes were missing the screw. It was too late to send them back and get new shoes, so our installer glued them on. If you do place an order, carefully check your parts; if you have issues, customer service will quickly resolve your concerns. Overall, because of the great customer service, I would order from this company again.

  My 1960s home needed to have the stairs rebuilt. The original owners had chosen high end finishes and we wanted to honor the 'Old Hollywood' style the had chosen back in the day.Our budget was pretty tight, and our ascetic is a little more quiet, not exactly the easiest set of requirements. We found the Durango Gold line to be the perfect mix of eye-catching, and subtly we were looking for.Cheap Stair Parts sent our order out quickly and we received it far faster than a special order at a big box store, that wouldn't have been able to sell our balustrades anyway.Our stairs are the centerpiece of our home and we couldn't be happier.

  I am a stair builder and I've used Cheap Stair Parts for many years. They deliver faster than my local lumber yard, with the same high quality stair parts.   Still waiting on my wood pieces...They are apprently spending TEN days in a FedEx facility minutes from my house. I’ve reached out two times to resolve and cheap stair parts hasn’t responded. Products I have gotten (iron balusters and footings) seem good, but based on service I do NOT recommend.

  This review is not fair. You ordered custom milled parts which states a 2-3 week leadtime as they are custom milled in an Amish woodmill. The order actually shipped complete 1 day earlier than the estimated time and your order arrived in your local Fedex Terminal on July 6th. This order has not been there 10 days, so I don't understand your incorrect statement.I see you emailed us on Saturday, during a time when we are closed, which is why you did not get a response to your initial concern.We will reach out to you directly this morning as well to Fedex to see why the delivery was set for the 12th and not today.

  Very disappointed that I couldn’t exchange a baluster for one of the correct size. I was even hoping to pay for shipping both ways to make the exchange easier. Manager said the Amish whom milled the baluster, don’t except returns! Ridiculous and poor service!

  All custom parts are labeled and presented multiple times before checkout as described as being made specifically for your order. It is made very clear that because this is a custom milled part, there are no exchanges or returns offered. Exotic wood can not be produced to sit on a shelf in hopes it can be sold again. This is not poor service, this is adhering to a clearly presented policy and I apologize if you don't agree to the terms. This policy is also only for custom wood milled parts. Stocked parts have exchange and return options.

  Parts were well made. Delivery was on time.Issues were one part was incorrect. This put me in a jam, as I needed to start the project asap. I had to buy a replacement locally at greater expense.I sent back part I could not use and was reimbursed, however, no attempt was made to compensate for the hassle. A little bit goes a long way. I will likely use them again but with caution.

  Loved being able to plot your railing pattern on site. Ours is so unique, a winner. When balluster (spindles) arrived one of the deco had been cut short. A picture of the pattern lay out showing short balluster, and ya`ll immediately sent a second. Our only complaint....send a metric Allen wrench...we had to go buy an entire set... no, no. Would recommend you to anyone.

  Stair parts are good quality and reasonably priced. Shipping is very expensive. The return policy is horrible. Even if you haven't unpacked the items, you cannot send it back after 30 days.

  Hello. I apologize you do not agree with the return policy presented to you before you checkout. We do not take back returns after 30 days, especially on wood parts. Wood parts, if not installed and finished within a certain time period can lead to quality issues as we don't know the environment the part has been kept in. Since we have strict quality control and do our best to cycle our wood inventory monthly, we must adhere to our 30 day guidelines. Also, every major online vendor has a 30 day return policy.As for the shipping, you chose 2nd day air express shipping, which unfortunately costs more than standard ground.

  This is absolutely the best source for oak stair parts. I have bought a lot of stair and hand rail parts from them. Shipping was fast. The materials are consistent and compatible with what you would find from a local supplier at a fraction of the cost. The only drawback is the limitation on lengths of actual rails, but a lot of people splice rails anyway. I prefer 1 piece whenever possible. Pricing for parts is unbeatable.

  I email company weeks in advance to ask whether the box newel would need any finish sanding or having any machine marks still on it.They said "no, the product is ready to stain and finish"This turned out to be not true. The box newel has numerous small chisel or hand tool marks, some planer marks as well. Its 1-2 hours of detail work for me. Lesson learned for me is buy local for some items and inspect. Also CSP seems to be an intermediary and is not familiar with the products that come from the producers.

  Hello! We are not an intermediary, we have a 70,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility and if you want to stop by for a tour I would be glad to chat with you. In fact we are one of the only stair companies that actually stock parts. Most others are purely drop ship.I looked at your order, we sent out a new in box product. We buy these by these products by the pallet ( about 8-10 pallets at a time ) and we do open random boxes to spot check quality. The expected quality is a ready to install and stain product. (Although most customers do some light sanding to make sure any dirt that happened during install is sanded off and smoothed out.)I apologize if something with a lesser quality than expected made it through. These things happen and we would have gladly re-shipped the newel. When we get notified of product defects, we have our warehouse manager hand open , hand inspect and quality stamp every reship to make sure the mistake is not repeated.We were not notified or given a chance to correct this. If you still have a need for a replacement for your project, please reach out to us directly.

  I'm not a contractor, so it took me a second to figure all the parts I would need. But once I did (and had our contractor double check the order), I ordered what I wanted and our contractor easily assembled everything. Parts and pieces look great and like all the variety they have.

  Carpentry experience recommended. The kit as a whole works very nice and is adaptable enough to be used creatively by professionals, but DIYers should at least be competent handy-people and seek advice before undertaking a stair rail project.

  Quality Newell posts at a wonderful price. You have to be home the day of delivery for the heavy objects but was able to work that out. Highly recommend this company!
