  I love the quality of the balusters and the flat shoes. The shoes with the slanted tops did not sit flat when tightening the set screws so we had to glue them all instead. The instructions on the website were very helpful. The stairway came out beautiful.

  Iron baluster had paint defects. Angled base shoes on previous order are garbage. Set screws were poorly machined and did not fit either metric or imperial Allen wrench. Return policy (have to pay for shipping)compromises any credit benefit to return product. I will not recommend your business to anyoneResponse: your remarks are infuriating and simply confirms we all are better off dealing with local distributors. Your return policy is emphatically limited NO RETURNS ACCEPTED AFTER 30 DAYS. YOU MUST PAY FOR RETURN SHIPPING. ALL DEFECTS MUST BE NOTED WITHIN 2DAYS OF ACCEPTANCE OF PARTS.My first delivery sat for 4-5 weeks before I had a chance to open the package and apply the product. So I lost out on the window to resolve the issue PER YOUR POLICY. Jeez, just take L and move on. You are just digging the hole deeperSecond response: to reference the Nov 15 transaction only is a huge misrepresentation. There is a September 2 transaction for $159.94 you are failing to acknowledge. We are well outside the 30 day windowI don’t want replacements. I bought better quality trim from Dillman & Upton in Rochester MI and the job is done.It’s your prerogative to remain in denial. You voluntarily asked for my feedback and I gave it to you. Enough already. Just stop.

  In response to your edits, your latest order was ordered Nov 15th and is well within any return policy window. Again if you never reach out to the retailer where you purchase material to discuss potential issues with your order how will you ever get service? If you need replacements per some shipping damage please respond to your order confirmation and let's go over replacement options.Our return policy states - Q. Parts of my order are defective or poor quality. What can I do?A. In the rare event that poor quality parts snuck past our inspectors, we can reship new material free of charge. In some cases pictures may be required.I'm trying my best to offer you replacements here. Not sure why you are fighting so hard to not get your material replaced.

  I always try to order in made in America on purpose. To my disappointment the return policy is absolutely horrendous. 25% restocking fee AND you have to pay to ship items back. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.I take responsibility for ordering wrong items. I am complaining about your return policy including a restock penalty AND no return shipping. After all, If I sent the items back to you, you would resell at 100% revenue. So why the restock penalty?

  Irene. When you checked out online the return policy was clearly displayed and it makes you agree to it before you complete check out. It states that in the event of a buyer's remorse return the buyer is responsible for shipping the products back and we charge a 25% restocking fee. (The exact same as every other stair part company except they charge 30%).We shipped what you ordered next day and delivered on time. We responded back to your return request with the same instructions you get during checkout. We did everything on our end correctly.I apologize that you made an error and are upset with yourself but do not take it out on us.For future customers our return policy states that in the event of a buyer's remorse return the buyer is responsible for the return shipping back to us and there is a 25% restocking fee. The restocking fee is to account for all the labor and materials it takes to pull, pack and ship your order to you plus the labor to receive in, unpack, inspect, restock the parts.-- In response to your edited review. The entire return policy was available to you before you checked out and there is even a warning saying that when you check out you agree to this policy, so click here to read it. The exact policy we emailed you when you asked for a return is what we have online for you to read and agree with before checking out so I don't understand the poor review about it. It was not hidden. On top of that why would you assume we would be responsible for your shipping back for your mistake? Your cost of shipping your return back has nothing to do with restocking fees. We have to pay employees to receive in, inspect, repack and restock your order. Those costs are not factored into selling price so we recoup those via restocking fees. If we did not do this the price of parts would go up for everyone (And not just all customers, all other stair part sites as well because almost all of them purchase their parts from us.)I hope that explains it better. I still do not believe we deserve a 1 star rating when we did nothing incorrect on our side.

  They delivered on time and when I ordered additional parts, they not only called to tell me that I had ordered the incorrect shoe for the baluster, they were cheaper and gave me the credit.

  Such an easy way to update my 80's stairs. My son ordered from this company and was well satisfied, so I ordered as well. Newel posts, iron balusters and handrails. SO MUCH cheaper than I could find locally even at big box stores and supply was limited there. Everything arrived within a great timeframe and upon inspection, nothing wrong with any item. My only recommendation is this: mine arrived by Fed Express and they only do curbside delivery of these items. I knew I needed to be home to take delivery, I didn't know they wouldn't be unloaded into my garage OR right at my house in the driveway. So plan ahead for this. I believe this is Fed Express policy NOT Cheap Stair Parts. Also, I should have gotten the handrails locally. I didn't realize that I would be charged extra due to their size...I bought 2 that were 12' each. So you will actually save money by buying anything that needs a size surcharge locally. I'm truly not sure if that size surcharge was from Cheap Stair parts on their behalf or was due to the shipping with Fed Ex.

  I would have given 5 stars but the piece of forming material on the outside of my bending rail had a knot right in the middle of a 20’ piece. The knot could not make the 6’ Radius bend and broke in half into 2 - 10’ pieces at the knot. Big surprise. Made for an imperfect bend. Other than that everything I've ordered has been as expected. And worked very well. I will use you guys again.

  We are giving 1 star because we paid a lot of money for the railings and shipping and the product came partially opened - the ends and part of the middle are opened and without any wrapping and you can see where they have been banged up and damaged. Also, the railings seem like they have a split on the bottom. I do not see how we will be able to use these as they came. Very upset and disappointed.

  We ordered 3 half jewels, and 2 standard jewels all in red oak. The jewels are solid and beautiful. One of the newels' trim was damaged, I contacted them and although I just needed trim replacement they shipped a replacement newel immediately. Great product and fantastic customer service.

  Everything I ordered came in 2 shipments, which was not explained to me. I ordered 3 36" stair risers, and got one 9 ft long board that I have to cut myself. I wasn't offered a partial refund or anything. Customer service was horrible, I never even got to talk to a person.

  We have multiple warehouses and occasionally have multiple shipments, but it all gets delivered within the quoted time frame. As for the riser I'm not sure why they didn't cut it at all. Usually they cut them but leave a little bit extra so the customer can fit it and cut it perfect to their staircase. That was a small mistake on our end.Your voicemail was left after hours. We did respond to your voicemail with 2 emails and a text. We let you know our phones were open if you still needed to discuss anything with us but we never got the call so we assumed you were ok since the treads delivered.

  Really nice and square posts. They are oak veneer around multiple oak interior slats. This makes them less likely to bow and twist, but very hard to add routered details. I had to use my table saw to add a reveal detail since using my router completely tore up the veneer. Would have been nice to know that prior to trying my router.

  In a time where customer service is being scrutinized, we could not rate the customer service any higher! We were notified immediately when the items we wanted would be about 30 days out - offered us an alternative- and it shipped right away.   We have been working on updating the home we purchased 4 years ago. One of the last things to do was update the stairway. I found this site and compared to others. I was very pleased with the huge variety of styles and the prices were very competitive. I'm so happy with the results. It brought everything together and provided the Wow factor I wanted when you first walk in to our home. I called customer service on one little issue and they quickly resolved it...no problem! I highly recommend this product.

  I decided to tackle my stairs all by myself I changed out the country oak spindles for the iron ones I also stained the wood that remained before I put the spindles in. This project could’ve easily been well over $4000 but a managed to get it done on my own for around $800 thanks to cheap stair parts. I am a woman and I was overwhelmed at the start of the project but their website was awesome! You can put what spindles you want into a fake staircase to see if that’s what you really want it was very helpful.

  I would give 10 stars if I could! Everything about my shopping experience with Cheap Stair Parts was excellent. The selection process is simple, I bought the same parts I had seen on other sites for significantly less, and shipping was incredibly fast.   I entered the wrong quantity for my online order but customer service took my call and fixed the problem right there. They refunded extra costs since my quantity changed and input the desired shipping date. Everything was very smooth.

  Their customer service is great. The bad thing is I had to use them 3 times. My 12' stair rail was warped, by newel post trim had no glue on it and was damaged, my balusters were dented, and the stair rail hardware had slag all over it and was painted over. Not the highest quality control there.

  I use Cheapstairparts.com because they have the most common stair parts that I use, they have the resources to have custom made parts that I sometimes need and they seem to always deliver the parts they have in stock in 4 or less days. My local supplier needs at least 7 days to receive my parts and then I have to drive 40 miles round trip to pick them up. Thanks for what you do Cheapstairpart.com.

I was surprised how quickly it was promised.After ordering a second time because I forgot something, I realized I chose the wrong color. By the time I called, the office was closed and so I had to leave a message. They received it and fixed my order and still delivered on time!The product is really pretty too!

  It is unfortunate that most of our negative reviews come from customers that are given numerous opportunities to read the return policy presented to them before they check out and they either choose not to or are mad when we actually follow it.This lady has been a nightmare for us. She is incredibly rude and the way she speaks to perfect strangers trying to help her is unacceptable. We are people too and we will not be bullied for no reason.After her demanding that we pay for her shipping back for a mistake SHE made we appeared to find a solution. Despite how she was treating strangers over her own mistake we offered to help pick up her order on our account to save her the return shipping. She agreed and then a few hours later this review pops up.For future customers our return policy states that in the event of a buyer's remorse return the buyer is responsible for the return shipping back to us and there is a 25% restocking fee. The restocking fee is to account for all the labor and materials it takes to pull, pack and ship your order to you plus the labor to receive in, unpack, inspect, restock the parts.This is an industry standard return policy (actually everyone else is 30%) and this is HOW we keep our prices competitive.

  Delivered parts as ordered in a timely fashion.Shipping is a cost to be considered. Long items increase shipping cost. They advised of a back order part after order was completed. Allowed me to choose to wait for it or cancel it.Positively love the stair panel molding. It is a wonderful fix to an ugly problem.

  The construction of the treads was very good. I ordered White oak and there were a few pieces of Red oak mixed in with the white oak. Normally that isnt a problem but this customer is just doing a clear finish and once the finish is on it will stick out like a sore thumb.

  Very happy with the purchase of the hollow balusters from the Designer collection. I was concerned about the strength of the hollow tubes but the wall thickness is such that these will not bend easily. The installation guidelines are very helpful though they should note that the screw in the shoe can be turned with a T15 torx. Ordering was seemless and the bars were individually wrapped to prevent damage. Overall quality is good too. Would definitely order again from them.

  I think I am ultimately going to like my stainless steel staircase, but the process has been trying. Even working with an installer, we ordered some wrong parts and would have done that process with customer service in hindsight. Their online guidance could use more clarity. Returning the wrong parts cost $20 in shipping plus a 25% restocking charge. Very expensive mistake. Then the shipping company in Chicago was awful. It took them three days after their promised date to deliver (with me standing by waiting), and the steel bars were delivered bent and the rails were missing. Christina in customer service was helpful, but we still have no railing.

  I ordered 140 metal balusters and about 60 linear feet of hand railing in white oak. The balusters were as described, the handrail was nice, but it is built up as opposed to one piece which was pictured, but not surprising in the 18’ lengths I received. A few pieces were slightly bowed, but I was able to use them as I had to cut to length anyway.I did complain to sales department and they asked me a to send pictures and were willing to work with me on it, but I never followed through as I was able to make it work with minimal effort.Only other thing is cheapstairparts shipping was quite expensive.In addition, I needed extra balusters and the shipping costs from CSP was 1/3 the cost of the items I needed. I went to Amazon and found the same item, from the SAME vendor with ~$9 shipping. I can confirm they were identical parts for substantially less shipping cost.

  I received three damaged newals Then was told that it would be three weeks because it had to go to the mail because they were out. You would think that if 2 came damaged they would make sure that the third one was wrapped well and not damaged. That was not the case. Very unhappy

  This is correct. In a rare and most unfortunate situation the shipper damaged both of the shipments, and on a product that was virtually out of stock at the moment which put this customer in a bind. We did refund the product and have our Amish woodmill produce a replacement. This put us upside down on this order but we are doing what we can to get this customer the newel post he ordered.
