  As a first time customer, we called in an order that needed to be shipped overnight in order to finish a job on time. Ordering was easy, tool shipped that day, received the next and we were able to finish the job for our customer on time. Great experience!

  The transaction was easy, the product is exactly as promised and was delivered in a reasonable time. Packing was excellent. Communication about the order (order confirmation, followup) was not very good and I had to be pro-active to make sure the order had been properly placed. But then all went well.   There were a few things that could have been handled better. 1. The online product description said "reduced shank" but it was only reduced a very short amount. I purchased this tap specifically to thread deeper than a standard, much cheaper tap, but it couldn't. 2. The online order spent a week in "processing" before I received the shipping notice. I called twice to see if it was really happening. Given this was my first order from Penn, I was worried my order wasn't really happening. 3. UPS took another week to deliver. A lot of time was wasted as UPS hands-off the package to the local postal service. That added another 2 days to the delivery. 4. Penn advertises "American made" but this tap had "China" stamped on it. 5. I ended up eating the cost of a $50 tap that didn't do the job intended.

  The tool I ordered worked good. The problem I had was that the tool required a specific ac adapter which was in the tool description, but would have been better if it was highlighted. I ended up getting the tool and then realizing I had to get the adapter so that was added time that it took for me to then order the correct adapter. The tool did a good job when I finally had all the correct components.

  Collets were pretty accurate but too long for older machines, The length is not to Brown & Shape specs. They should be 2.880 long but are over 3 1/8" long. I have to grind off about 1/4” inch off the backs to make them work. Also, had to lap out the 1/2" collet bore. It had a .002 step in the bore about halfway in. This collet should have been replaced but I made it work. Lot's of time went into it to repair it but still is not as good as it should be. They simply bored the hole wrong.
