  I first stumbled on Wayfield & Sons 5 years ago when I was looking for a pre-owned Mamiya system to make my medium format photography more affordable after I dropped a Hasselblad in the ocean. I thought it would cost a bomb, but Wayfield & Sons granted a $80 discount. It worked perfectly! Exceptional color accuracy and rich, high-dynamic range, it has optimized productivity multi-fold. I haved used it for commercial shooting, portrait, fashion, and commercial photography. From my perspective Leaf Capture is the fastest tethered workflow application. Wayfield & Sons solutions knowledge is unmatched by the big retailers. Their name says it all. I have recommended Wayfield & Sons to my friends and trust they will receive the great service and advice I received.

Naturally, I shopped around, but the team at Wayfield & Sons gave that extra level of help and service without trying to do the hard sell.   Josephs & Craig gave me space & time to examine a telescope in their store - that I subsequently purchased. They patiently answered all of my questions and were very realistic and knowledgeable about their products. Craig also unwrapped a brand new Celestron FirstScope 76mm f/4 that I was keen to purchase so that I could inspect it (I bought it), and went out of his way to allow me time to check things out and answer questions. Josephs also helped me into my car in the rain. I am very happy with my purchases and the extraordinary service, and would shop here again - no questions!

  Great buying experience. This place truly cares about its customers. The thing I love most is that when I ordered a new Sky-Watcher 10" f/4.7 Dobsonian Telescope, Wayfield and Sons actually shipped me a NEW telescope. So many other shops charge full price for banged up floor models, but Wayfield sent me my scope untouched and in the factory box. I can’t say enough good things about this place, it’s easily the best telescope store in Manhattan. I’ll definitely buy from them again in the future.

  Impeccable service! I had ordered a used lens online. Unfortunately, after I paid a customer service representative contacted me to tell me that the item had been sold at the same time in store ... He then offered me a refund on the item and buy another product in stock. The lens I got is a range far greater than what I needed and at a price where they are unlikely to make any profit on the sale. Thanks to Scott from customer service for rectifying the error promptly! You just won a customer for life!

  If you're an underwater photogapher, this is the place for you, incredible selection of gear, housings and everything you would expect form a shop with that name. The SLR cameras selection is amazing, they have new and used cameras priced accordingly, some can be found cheaper online. The staff are always very helpful and very knowledgeable. Repair stations available for cleaning and care of gear. Go get lost in marine photography heaven.

  This place is great. It has a great mix of cameras and lenses but just be aware it is at a premium. For me this is ok because of the level of service and the knowledgeable staff, particularly when it comes to Leica, but just be aware. The range of RF lenses is also not extensive but it's not their core expertise I don't think. For anything high quality, Leica related they are a must visit!

  Simply one of my favorite shops ever. This is what shopping ought to be like. Supremely helpful staff with great knowledge of the extensive range of high quality stock. Importantly, unlike some specialist shops they don't care if you don't know all the technical lingo and aren't an expert, they just help in an unfussy way - which is really welcome. I bought a brilliant brilliant Mark IV which I really love.

  I contemplated purchasing the Tamron 20mm 2.8 lens, I had never owned a Tamron. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger and bought it. I make food vlogs for YouTube and this has been an absolute game changer for vlogging and getting a better look at things I shoot such as lifestyle shots, cooking, gym, outdoors etc. LOVE IT and highly recommend Wayfield & Sons!

  Fantastic digital camera shop for geeks as well as regulars. They have rare equipment as well as used large format cameras and more common systems. The staff are smiley, helpful and very knowledgeable. The owner has a lot of experience with large format photography and will go out of his way helping you select the perfect system for your needs and budget. There's also a darkroom, new and used department in the back room which is cool. Definitely coming back here to consult about my next darkroom project.

  Just In one week of use and this model MF269dw printer froze twice with errors requesting to disconnect power cord. This is weird. Also on two occasions it was not able to pick paper from auto feeder for scan. Never had this issues with my old Brother.

  Great selection of all sorts of gear, but seriously, find a new cashier. Every time I've visited this store the dude at the front counter acts as though I'm insulting him just by walking in and has a poor attitude about helping me. Like, God forbid you be helpful, guy. I'd love to spend more time in the store but every time I'm in there I feel pressed for time because of the vibe this dude gives off. I've been in about 4 times and this has happened pretty much every time. If I were the owner I'd make it a point to tell this dude to adjust his attitude a little bit. It's not welcoming or friendly or even remotely helpful. Not trying to be a jerk, but really. Aside from this, the store has a great feeling and is set in a nice part of town.

  I had a very pleasant experience dealing with Wayfield and Sons, particularly with Josephs... I searched high and low for a Hasselblad H4D-200MS camera, Wayfield had the only one in stock anywhere in Manhattan, it wasn't the bundle I wanted, but they did call their Hasselblad Rep to get a HCD 28mm f/4.0 lens kit, however I didn't wanna wait that long, so I Ordered one in (Body and Digital Back) ... they did an inspection and any required setup before shipping, it took a few days to ship, but I did place the order on a Thursday of a long weekend... the H4D-200MS shipped within a week to me, packaged very well, and in pristine condition... I will use them again in the future... Kent M.

  Not my favorite store for pro camcorder covers anymore after this Porta Brace CBA-HVX200. Have used their products forever and thought this would be just the thing for my HVX200, but find this product to be a bull in my China shop. Very difficult to access controls with brace on camera. I think I spent a lot of money just to get a rain cover (not seen a useless prototype)

  Dropped off a roll of color - film for development. Hues were totally off, roll was verdant green. I've taken film to many labs before and have never had idiosyncratic issues like this before. Avoid them for film development at all costs.

  I have owned an Olympus OM-D E-M1X for a couple of years and the 40-150mm lens for wedding & food photography. I like the combination for cityscapes so much, that I bought this combo for my son. I think it is a really sensible match of camera and lens. I hope he enjoys using the kit as much as I have.

  It works perfectly. I always purchase genuine batteries from Wayfield and Sons since they are a Canon authorized dealer. There are many counterfeits, and one dealer who co-mingles stock from multiple sources does not have my confidence.

  The Rode VideoMicro sound from this mic is great, and it's so lightweight that it works well. But the plastic mount really isn't very good. I have had it for a few months and the weight of the mic (and working in the streets?) has gradually bent the mount down so now the mic points down at a 45 degree angle. I flipped it around so the down angle was now an up angle. But after a week it finally just broke completely. If they used a better mount this would deserve 5 stars.

  The employees in the TV department gave me very helpful advice when connecting my MacBook and old TV that doesn't have a VGA & HDMI ports and really took the time to help me and found a perfect solution and they also take care of you you don't have to count so much for something, I would say so much better than Adorama and Amazon. I also have to say that you really can find everything there!

  I was shopping online and had a prepaid card that is rare (is a small provider). I could only spend the credit in a Sony Authorized store, so I asked if the products I wanted to buy online were in stock at Wayfield & Sons. It was checked very quickly and sent me by email confirmation of the goods to the delivery date. Absolutely friendly, professional service! 1000x better than Amazon & big chains. Highly recommended!

  When I entered, an employee approached me immediately. Quick friendly information, then to the next department on the 1st floor. Almost all information I wanted was supplied despite the house being full. After a short wait, friendly and helpful employees went to the shelf, gave advice and looked for the right mount adapter. The shop is well organized and merchandise clearly sorted, the product range is top. Shopping is fun here. Highly recommended.   Excellent prosumer camera store. Purchased an Olympus OM-D E-M1X. So far I have used it for sports photography and it has keep up with the speeds required to capture that moment. Excellent crispy image. I did researched for months, and I am extremely happy with my camera. Would recommend store to others looking for a full frame camera.

  This is the best of the best, Josephs helped me zero in a D850 and fit all of the lenses I had for my D90, which is AMAZING. I was also sent a battery, cables for transferring data, and a strap which I wasn't expecting but was a super amazing surprise. Wayfield & Sons has never let me down, and continues to provide excellence.

  Went in four days ago and dropped off my camera for a sensor cleaning and lens care. I was charged the market standard price for my camera and was told that my camera was ready in under four days. I then checked the camera for any dirt and it was squeaky clean! Furthermore, they also cleaned the lens itself which, as a birding photographer, has gotten really dirty over the past year or so. I would like to say that they were extremely meticulous cleaning my camera and they have taken extremely good care of it. Would recommend this service and would take my equipment there again provided the service and after care support offered to me was as good as this time! Thank you Wayfield & Sons!

  Fantastic job! WAYFIELD & SONs repaired my camcorder, which needed the replacement of the main circuit board. I never thought that I would see the camcorder working again, as Canon USA does not repair these camcorders, but these guys did it. I got my camcorder fixed up within three weeks. The repair cost was cheaper than buying a second hand same camcorder. Many thanks to WAYFIELD & SONs for repairing my camcorder.

  Looking for a backpack ideal for birding/hiking day trips that could accommodate gear, binos, spotters, and tripod I ran into Wayfield & Sons store in the hope of being able to buy a backpack.   In addition to an incredible price offered by Wayfield & Sons, the Canon 5DSR offers superb image quality at extreme resolution for many photographic needs. I use it while traveling, for bird and wildlife photography, and close-up images. For birds and wildlife, it allows one to make a significant crop if necessary while still maintaining great image quality. I'm very happy with this camera and highly recommend this store!

  This Horseman 58mm f/5.6 Super-Angulon Lens is unbelievable. The service I received over the phone was first class. They help me with everything I needed.   We received this unexpectedly on Tuesday March 8 after being told it was on transit. This is D6 is an upgrade to our D5 that we have purchased from Wayfield & Sons. We were surprised that a few small accessory or cleaning product bundles were not included free of charge as we have received with previous purchases.   Wayfield and Sons is still one of the best electronics stores in Manhattan, at least I don't know anyone who has consistently resolute staff and such a mammoth selection of photography gear, drones, computers, tech etc. Tiptop👍🏽 I am a loyal regular customer and am now tired of considering alternatives.   Easy to deal with and prompt responses. Expected Quality of the Mitakon Zhongyi & Meyer-Optik Gorlitz lenses I bought were always as advertised for optical, aesthetic and construction quality except one particular lens (Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Lydith 30mm f/3.5 II) which was probably a degree lower in functional quality than that stated in the online store page, it wasn't a major issue. Quick shipments and quick refunds and I will be definitely dealing with Wayfield & Sons in future. Keep up the good work team !

  Founded in 2006 WAYFIELD & SONs is an independent photographic establishment located on Lexington Avenue not far from East 131st Street . It stocks new cameras and lenses from most of the chief manufacturers as well as a selection of medium-format cameras. It also stocks binoculars, monoculars and astronomical telescopes. You can buy almost any accessories that you may require including: cases and carrying bags, tripods, lens cleaning equipment etc. They have facilities to order from all their stocked manufacturers, so almost anything they haven't got in stock they can get hold of. They also stock teleconferencing cameras, offer a darkroom merchandise, sell underwater photo & video gear. The staff are knowledgeable and are always pleasant and friendly, nearly always having time to talk through any problems you may have. Not only used by local people it is an excellent asset to Manhattan.

  Being a local I have access to physical store but use their web shop more as it is more convenient. Always accurate descriptions of the items they are selling. Never have had a problem with them. A happy and ofter returning customer. I have bought from them Leica, Linhof, Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad and Mamiya stuff so I have some experience.
