  Bought my Bolt VM-1000 ring flash at Wayfield &Sons but different mm filter rings are plastic, cheap materials at that, only had a few days and already almost peeled off threads more than once. The clips that mount the flash to the ring are also very fragile, a little hard to loosen to remove & always feel like it may choke anytime. It's disappointing on durability and modeling lights. They should have advised me to buy a better version, I'm now having to improvise for my macro photography equipment.

  Excellent and knowledgeable service here. They have a really good selection of merchandise. They also are very helpful in educating about close-up photography rig requirements and helped to ensure I was informed about what was required for a tightly cropped shot in the garden or flower beds.

  Staff was very helpful in purchasing RF lenses. I brought my RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens back as there's an issue with front focusing at 200mm f/2.8 at MFD and Steve disassembled and cleaned the lens. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks to Josephs and Tom and others.

  I needed lenses that support focus stacking and bracketing for an E-M5 Mk III. Rose at Wayfield demonstrated several compatible M.ZUIKO, including a ED 8mm F1.8 Fisheye which I eventually bought and paid on the nail. The store has plethora of lenses to pair with my cameras for dedicated shooting such as wide-angle wildlife photography with a perfect lens. Never treat a small, independent store like this with a grain of salt, as the saying goes, good things come in small packages!

  Hands down the best drones & aerial imaging dealer I’ve been to. I’ve been to posh electronics stores in Manhattan these don't hold the sway. Wayfield & Sons is way ahead of it's competitors with innovative customer support solutions. The customer service you receive is hands down why everyone keeps coming back!! Their selection is excellent and the accessories they offer are vast. If you’re looking for something just ask they should be able to get it. I won’t shop anywhere else just because of brick and mortar loyalty in this industry. A must visit for all your needs. Ask for Josephs that dude is a legend!!!

  Its a photography shop, so of course they sell cameras, used and new. However their prices are kind of high so I wouldnt recommend anyone go here as their first choice. There are other shops in the area with much better prices. The customer service here isn't the best either, however once you get their attention they are pretty knowledgeable about their products and the drone laws in NYC, etc.

  I'm a Canon cine purist and wanted an upgrade for the C 100, I shoot professional advertising, fashion and indie films. Josephs received my call and confirmed the C200 was in stock and would make an impeccable upgrade. Splendid skin tone, detailing. Staff even insisted I steer clear of the C200B as it is body only. The LV-V1 4 touchscreen LCD monitor, the top handle and the rosette-based handgrip that come with the C200, are available options. However, there is no attached EVF. I love the knowledgeable, helpful and excellent staff. Very shrewd in responding to questions online and in store. It's a local store to browse or explore.

  I'm a motion picture camera assistant and loyal shopper at wayfield, I've frequented the store for camcorder supports and accessories. I was in the hunt for a gimbal support for black magic camera ursa/ursa mini last month and bought it here. Josephs recommended a Blackmagic design shoulder-mount kit, it not only allows me to integrate the follow focus, and mattebox but it is essential in order to throw in the Blackmagic Design URSA Viewfinder. This system completes my ensemble as I wanted to build my rig around a shoulder mount and baseplate specifically designed for the medium-sized camcorders clocking in at 15mm rod support. Always Wayfields'!!

  I am a professional photographer and was hunting for a camera I could carry around with me everywhere. Something great for photographing a wide variety of subjects, especially landscapes and street photography. Bought a Ricoh GR III at Wayfield &Sons it is great camera, easy to carry and renders high performance. It is a decent pocket street shooter's tool- compact, gloss, and powerful. The images are sharp with deep blacks and well controlled highlights. ISO performance is very good for its size, plus the vibration suppression is excellent which help shoot at low shutter rates on lower ISO. It's a newly-released product, I hope this review will appeal to potential buyers.

  It is good for the boy to practice photography. That way he will not have money for drugs" this excellent sentence I heard in Wayfieldandsons. The staff there are excellent and intrigued to help. I was surprised by the time I spent solving problems that were not related to purchasing at all. For example, I bought a Live Planet Professional 360 Video Cam and didn't know how to do anything. I came to the store and they didn't know, but didn't give up, and tried again and again until we found the answer together. The time spent on this is not at all related to the desire to sell or service. It has to do with the fact that this store has people who love what they do. I will continue to spend my money there (and then apologize at home for why I buy so much crap). If you need something to do with the world of professional VR &360 cam, this is the store for you👍

  A hidden gem! A good selection of mirrorless cameras and equipment. We called in to look at their EOS R series and came away with a R5, flashlight, adapter, batteries and a Manfrotto. There seem to be a range of prices and the stuff you want! It's a photo shop plus!

  From the moment that I first contacted Wayfield and Sons with a complex issue regarding my D5100 to the day I got it back sorted I received nothing but a professional service. They went above and beyond my expectations. Their communication keeping me up to date with progress and some issues beyond their control was impeccable.   Decent service, got a lot of film developed from here, perfect for most things but be aware when asking about some more specific things cause the staff sometimes seems a bit inattentive and they don't keep records on agreements, I got different film many times for the same service so make sure you ring up about the formats on the site first and you get the staff to explain you what you are developing for and the prices.

  Probably one of the best electronics shops around, the staff are amazing, very helpful and friendly. Great selection of cameras from medium-format, DSLR right up to full-frame, you name it they probably have it or can get it in stock for you. Not only is it just a shop it also has a pro video lineup which also has a rentals too. Membership there is always a bonus as you save money on rentals or buying used equipment. Prices in the shop are very good even compared to some big chains. Ive been a member there for over a year now and ill probably be a life long customer.

  Went to look at a Nimar underwater housing for Nikon D5200 early 2017, really liked it and they let me pay a deposit on the nail for the item until I got my remuneration, which i’m very grateful for.   Went into store the other day to buy my first landscape/sunrise photography camera and the staff were extremely helpful and gave me so much information about the product that I was looking to buy.   Ever since B&H Photo sold a Nikon 35mm camera to another online purchaser whilst I was looking at it in the shop I began using Wayfield&Sons in Manhattan. The staff are helpful, courteous and shrewd; without upsell. An extensive and good stock is at-the-ready. As a Nikon user I have never come away disappointed. On the rare occasion where they have not had an item I wanted they have obtained it from another store within a couple of days. I have no hesitation in recommending Wayfield&Sons in Manhattan.

  I purchased Nikon 10-22x50 to use for cursory astronomy observations. However, it doesn't focus at 10X magnification, At 22X they are out of collimation. I have problems with image quality observing the moon I initially got a Celestron binoculars from Wayfield&Sons, but waited too long, while verifying the issues to use it. I had passed the 30 day return policy. Now I will have to pay shipping to Nikon for repairs.

  Received the EOS 5D Mk IV with 24-015 mm lens kit. Everything was in order and well packed. 5D is quite an leap up from my 70D but well worth it. I outgrew my 7D, this will be a workhorse camera for wildlife and landscape photography. First I must say how Wayfield&Sons will from now on be the only place I go to for all of my photographic needs. Their customer service is unequal. Adorama & B&H Photo, are a disaster, Wayfield&Sons is the only way to go. Ease of use and reliability is exactly why I buy Canon, the Mark IV is a milestone.

  As a customer, I have incessantly had such a refreshing experience with Wayfield & Sons! All the staff are always really well-versed. The staff called Rose who served me is really professional and always answer all my questions and extensively let me experiment out whatever type of lens that I needed to rent. I would highly recommend this shop for photography/video equipment in Manhattan! :D

  Went to the store on Monday to part exchange my EOS RP for an EOS R6. Met Josephs who quickly and painstakingly inspected the camera. Got a suspiciously magnanimous price and new camera.   Excellent company but return policy is tenuous compared to other large-scale photography suppliers like Amazon, B&H Photo, and such. All of the above allow exchanges even if the item is opened (even used) and Wayfield&Sons does not for anything Leica related which is most of what I buy

With an ultra-wide 170° angle of view, it allows me to record an immersive view of your surroundings in high detail.   I came to Wayfield&Sons hoping to buy a spotting scope, either Zeiss or Swarovski. Josephs recommended a Leica APO-Televid 82. The image through Leica Televid Spotting Scopes was the sharpest of all the brands I tested. I use this scope for hunting birds, and I have been delighted with its resolution in low-light conditions, and of course bright mid-day use. The image is tack-sharp from corner to corner, with no distinguishable chromatic aberration. Body is solid, and although I am still trying to find a Novagrade Digiscoping Adapter, I do not worry about this scope standing up to fog or inclement weather for long. Wayfield &Sons is impressive!

  Unfair prices but the staff are very patronizing. They looked me down through the nose when I brought in film and asked a few questions, because they should respond to questions in detail and plus I'm obviously going to ask questions in case of anything(!) Also I asked if I could drop in the film and pay later and they said yes via text but again turned their declined at the idea that when I went in resulting in me having to persuade them that one of their staff told me this - bit of a waste of time.

  I ordered the Ilford Fixer, I swear by this brand. It mixes easily, stores well, holds up to a lot of reuse before wearing out and is REALLY rapid. Very delicate fixer that can last a very long time. Effective and leaves a clean print. Ilford darkroom chemicals have been go to black and white film chemicals for years.   Because of its excellent customer service this place is the most sought place in Manhattan with people and product but it is also one of the most reliable, state-of-the-art retail outlets I've ever seen. For all of my underwater housings and stills needs I never doubt that I can find whatever I'm looking for at this place. Big fan of Wayfield &Sons for more than 20 years. Shop offers incredible amount of products that are free to try even they are expensive. Very highly recommended to visit and buy :-)

  Wayfield & Sons place is a Disneyland. The staff is super knowledgeable and I love going straight to the darkroom section to ask questions about any photography formula, recommendations, performance, etc. They also consistently compare quality and cost for me, telling me when it’s appropriate to spend the extra money for name brands and when it’s really not necessary. I’ve ordered online and shipped to NE as well, and the no tax surcharge is pretty great, especially with free shipping. Best camera/electronics store I’ve been to.

  My favorite store for darkroom and vintage photography. The amount of equipment in one place, is unprecedented. I love the free shipping and quick NYC they have.   The place is a gem find and offers an unlikely wide variety of photography products for almost everything (from 4k camcorders to Tiflen filters)! The dudes who work at the shop are very friendly and welcoming, and are always ready to "go the extra mile" in order to have a satisfied clientele. Would definitely recommend to someone who is visiting NYC: even if he/she doesn't want to buy anything, the experience itself of walking into such a store is worth it!

  This is the Mainstay Manhattan shop with all staples but there is so much more. Cameras, lenses, pro video, tripods & mounts, films, flash, darkroom, bags, drones, aerial photography tools, electronics... And feels like a candy store. The only reason that this isn't a 5 star review is because the staff is slow and confused (for the most part.) The store is a Manhattan landmark and is a must for anyone interested in photography or cinematography.

  My husband went here to buy a classic point-and-shoot cameras or full-frame mirrorless camera for vacation, not only was the owner knowledgeable about each camera carried in his store but made the process of buying one enjoyable.   Great customer service.. Also very knowledgeable. Same day service unlike other stores I've never gone to purchase a camera and they tell me theres error in the system and I have to wait a few days. Where when the black guy in front of me just walked away with 3 lenses and the white guy after me also purchased cameras as well. Wayfieldandsons doesn't stereo type anyone.

  The staff seemed for the most part knowledgeable. Some things I knew we're incorrect. The staff is most friendly and helpful. They are NOT inexpensive, however! For example, my son bought a bran new Canon EOS-1D X Mark III elsewhere for $6,449.00. Wayfield & Sons Shop has a used one for $6,549.00.

  They are slow, they are negligent when time is of the essence still pursuing my rolls of film, or they just don't keep themselves all the time for insider reasons. There was no problem with the products. They work well. Only have no sufficient human resources (at least for 1-2 people working there)

  Purchased the Nikon D810A at Wayfield&Sons and it's great camera for astrophotography and nightscapes.It packs high ISO performance to reach the stars, gives the best of nature at dead of night. Even better, with the aid of Josephs, I added a filter to improve reproduction of vivid reds in images of nebulae that emit H-alpha light. Remember to toggle on the Virtual Horizon to set your tripod/head on a level horizon.

  The people were extremely helpful and accommodating! Huge selection of camcorders which is what we wanted to invest in, very nice cine cameras. They give you ample film rolls for the price. Fantastic cameras and well stocked place. Good to go and blow off some steam! Highly recommend to anyone in the Manhattan! Selections in electronic behemoth chains are dirty cheap in comparison!

  Im a new Nikon enthusiast. Ive owned Olympus Mark Series cameras for as long as I can remember. My last camera was OM-D E-M5 Mark II, which I love! Mostly used lens was Zuiko 12mm f/2. Its too heavy to carry around for hours. I do a lot of trail wildlife photography since high school. I have shot bears, moose, eagles, sharks, penguins, sea lions, sunrise, lots of species animals, flora. I was wanting to get closer and be able and willing to carry with me on hikes. Wayfield &sons delivered my Nikon P1000 in three days. Im still learning, but I love all the features. So many configurations to choose from. So far I love everything about this P&S. If you are looking for a lightweight, portable camera, go to Wayfield&sons in NY.

  I had initially posted a one star rating review because a misunderstanding about their return policy. They are very friendly and prompt reply to your emails and answer your questions right on the spot over the phone. There are a some camera stores out there that do not care about customer service. I realized that my antecedent opinion wasn't fair and am now updating it. I'm still a customer and will continue to be for as long as they are in business.

  First time customer. Purchased a Cokin R730, I use Photoshop or PTLens to curb fisheye distortion and barrel obfuscation at the wider edges. The images are super sharp. Lens arrived as advertised, with a little something extra thrown in. Very happy with my purchase.

  Got my film developed here and the price was reasonable, though it took a little longer than I expected. I found the staff to be a bit patronizing- felt like they just wanted me to leave as soon as possible. I chose to come here because of the culture of buy American to keep the dollars circulating locally, but I might shop around a bit for better service.

  I had never heard of Wayfieldandsons until I was looking for a telescope imaging camera-Starlight Xpress Oculus 1.55mm f/2 180°. They had the best price I could find.   I was skeptical at first because of how sweet the deal was, what can I say but WOW!! Superb service from the moment I placed my order to receiving my Nikon D6 body.   I do not think I am going here anymore. The selection is pathetic for a store this size. Vintage film cams are near nothing too. Local shops one tenth the size have a better selection. The lenses compartments are mostly empty too. You would think there was some sort of shortage but as of my writing this there are no camera supply panics.

  Great service, fast and professional, after getting ripped of by fly-by-night camera dealers online, Wayfield and Sons gives their costumers a Grace period the purchase (in case spouse finds out) their customer service and after I back-tracked my order they quickly corrected it and promptly sent the order. Highly recommended. In the day and age of internet market places the need to be flexible so as to make customers confidant they can buy sight unseen. Oh and Adorama charged me 25%, shipping fee on a order error 14 hrs after order. So thanks again Wayffieldand sons you’ve gained a returning costumer.
