  Wayfield and Sons is my New World of Leica Cameras in Manhattan! The small shop is a treasure trove of Leica memorabilia, old vintage, lenses and some of the original cameras, all immaculate stored and categorized.It’s kind of a café with very good food and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The full history of Leica is laid out in camera models too, so you admire the evolution of the different series and the almost seamless move into digital. Wayfield is a photographic heaven, it is rare and heart warming when reality lives up to our dreams. Rose, Joseph and the rest of the team.

  Went in for a new telescope and eyepieces. They were so helpful. They didn't blind me with hard astronomy or talk down to me. I walked out with exactly what I wanted and needed. I am absolutely thrilled with my purchases and would definitely go back here again. I had priced up things on the internet before I went and the telescope I bought was cheaper in this shop so they are very competitive in price.

  At the beginning of the trip, the lock on the Manfrotto Carbon tripod broke. Because I was on vacation, it’s a pity to spend time combing photo shops, then I went to the store with the largest selection of tripods and heads, from what google suggested. Moreover, he was open on Sunday. The choice was surprisingly great for such a small store. Quickly chose a new tripod (but much of what was announced on the site was on order). I did not really consider the rest of the assortment, but, it seems, there is also a good choice. Part of the used goods is decently priced.

  Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm F/1.8 S gave me impressive optical performance, contrast, color, distortion and focus is extremely good, right up there with the best primes. Im having a lot of fun shooting with this lens, especially with available light even in near darkness. In good light, with lower ISOs the image quality is amazing. Thank you Wayfield, it's a high-performance piece of glass!!

  It's an Aladdin's Cave for a photographer, they have all tripods, heads, mini tripods, quick release, accessories and monopods. Wayfield&Sons is awesome. They really care about their customers and I would highly recommend that you shop there. They really saved my butt! I'd give 10 stars if I could.

  I've never felt impelled to write a review on these platforms before but I learned about various camera shops in the market and read the reviews here before going to retail world. I went on an afternoon and it was quite busy but well staffed. A polite sales assistant asked me if I needed help and quickly got the lens I was looking for. I tested it on my camera and he even let me photograph my friend as a test subject. Overall they were efficient and very friendly with a price that matched B&H Photo.

  DJI Mavic 2 Pro flies much smoother & faster than the original Mavic and the image transmission to the receiver is much cleaner and higher res. The staff were helpful, friendly and they had a lot of knowledge. The store seems to have a good stock of cameras and equipment. I am super happy with the personal service from my order assistant to the financing. The product checks out beautifully and shipping and the whole process was awesome, THANK YOU WAYFIELD &SONS !

  Ricoh GR III Unleashes Lots of Fun! I love, love, LOVE IT! I love how small, sleek, and powerhouse the Ricoh GR III hides underneath! Perfect for street photography, this application the GR III is nearly perfect. I can get tactically close to subjects with this camera, with much less pussyfoot than required with a Leica M10 and Q2. Excellent Camera shop with an Excellent selection. The staff were super friendly and helpful.

  I bought a Sony A7C camera two weeks ago from Wayfield &Sons. When I received it, I was amazed by the build and capabilities of this camera. Most importantly, the flip-screen makes your work a breeze during video recording. Explained everything about my new camera compared to one I had bought elsewhere, I am amazed by its optical performance and the convenience you get because of the compact design of the lens. What an absolute treat to receive such kind and personal service which these days feels so lacking. So much appreciated and I couldn’t have wished for more helpful personnel.   Bought TG-6 for my wife to shoot better pictures than she can get from her Smartphone while allowing her to upload its images to other devices. This camera give so much information about your location, conditions, great photos, durable in the ocean and for scuba diving.

  We ordered photo albums of our wedding before New Year as a gift for the in-laws. The album arrived on time, but in shoddy quality, all of them were requested in pixels, especially in large sizes - which must be framed ... We had to order a photo album from another provider for the same pictures, it is beautiful and impeccable, so there was no problem with the store. (It is unfortunate that they do not implement seamless digital photo processing like the other place ...) I only recommend it to anyone who needs a photo really fast and sacrifice quality.

  Ordered an Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark III, it's an amazing upgrade from original E-M1. This is a versatile camera, so well built and so able to perform under any scenarios. It is ergonomically snug in my hands with intuitive access to all of the controls. This camera is also incredibly easy to personalize to which ever interests a photographer might have for their technique of shooting. Incredibly fast and gifted with the most nifty capabilities that allow one to explore photography in so many ways. The images come out crisp and sharp with high-contrast and rich hues, the quality is just superlative!

  I enjoyed my experience, for the most part. My only complaint stems from the shipping company, not Wayfield and Sons, NYC. One day shipping ended up being 8 days. Filters kit.   A Mecca of Electronics products in the heart of Manhattan! Wayfield & Sons not only stocks digital and film cameras, lighting, underwater equipment, audio, TVs, laptops, and drones. Amazing experience, Great place and Wonderful people. Bought an LG TV for gaming, didn't use it and realized it wasn't for me, after 8 months I go and they take it back , no questions asked. Who would do this?? Bought a camera from them recently and hats off to their courtesy , client management, delivery and after sales. Kudos to Josephs, Neboja and Rose.   I bought a Lensbaby Velvet 56mm F/1.6 for floral, landscape and fine art photography, so I had seen lots of reviews and ordered this lens. The lens is really special in the look it delivers. The name Velvet is really synonymous with the stunning bokeh and I love the whole feel of the lens. I love exquisite, romantic images and I feel like this lens has helped me in creating this splendor. If you're looking to get ethereal oeuvre, for the price, I would definitely recommend this shop for Special Effects Lenses.

  To be quite honest, I've been a fan of the Pentax film cameras since 20 years ago. This is my FIRST Pentax KP. This camera is choked with features, sculpted like a tank and mates into a dozen of lenses that can be used with it, including the top-of-the-line LEGACY versions. The kit offered by Wayfield&Sons is hard to beat! This photography store is head & shoulders beyond the big chain stores! I'm gonna enjoy using the store for my Pentax camera needs. It's really a sweet store!

  Purchased the Magnus VT-4000 Tripod System w. Fluid Head, it is a radical revolution to the way I operate my camera now. This is my first Magnus tripod, and so far both design and quality are impressive for the price. The swing action, up and down are very smooth with this head. The head will adjust autonomously of the tripod legs so you can level with the bubble without the obtrusive leg-leveling. Well worth the investment if you're looking for a good quality economical filming tripod.

  I use the Lastolite EZYBalance for evening out the white saturation on my camera. It's a prefect size, but flops compressing down. However, on mine, there are some cracks in the gray surface. They're distorted through the view finder at a distance, but this points to a flawed production process. And these foldable items often inadvertently collapse over time with gradual folding, so I don't ever furl them.

  WAYFIELD& SONS has turned it around from a Catastrophic to a Win-Win! I HAD originally given Wayfield a one-star review due to a dispute regarding the sale of vintage lenses and the manner in how they were advertised. This dispute/debate dragged for about a month with other people who raised the same concerns. Wayfield& Sons recognized and responded with an offer of partial or full refund - purchasers option - fully admitting they made a mistake. Few businesses do that and frankly, I applaud Wayfield & Sons for stepping up and responding as they have. Congrats to Wayfield &Sons.

  They delivered our document camera in three days. HoverCam Ultra 8 is simple and easy to use. We include this product in college presentations.   This place is awesome! The store is great and you feel very welcome by the staff.   Sometimes good sometimes deplorable. Got a few lemons from them but they replaced it with slight hassle. Just make sure to read their return and warranty policy before you buy, as you should with any store anyways. They've definitely improved a lot since I first got into photography about 7 years ago.

  I recently purchased my Manfrotto Befree 3-way tripod at an affordable price here and I'm contemplating of getting more quick release accessories.   Wayfield just deployed my new Pentax DA 20-40mm F/2.8-4 ED. It is beautifully built, all metal, and the most satisfying tactile experience. The lens is weather resistant so it is a good choice for Pentax Cameras like my K-30. It is an excellent portrait lens with superb image quality and very good low light capabilities. Optical quality is good but bit soft at the edge for 40mm. Made in Vietnam. The lens has a fantastic build quality.

  I have taken the time to write this review in regards to the exemplary customer service that I consistently receive from Wayfield &Sons. I have had the pleasure in dealing with them for over a decade and they have always exceeded my expectations. The staff is extremely friendly, well -mannered and knowledgeable and they actually take the time to listen to me. I highly recommend them to anyone in and around Manhattan who is looking for excellent service and great prices.

  Good photography store but some of their staff are quite rude. I have been hung up on by staff twice while calling to ask questions because the staff member who answered didn't speak fluently and couldn't understand what I was asking so they would say "I don't understand call back later" and hang up.

  A plentiful source for memory cards & accessories. All types of photography memory cards, SDHC / SDXC, Micro SD, CFast, CFexpress, and CompactFlash. I bought Angelbird 512GB CFexpress. Tested on my Mark III at 4k/120/RAWLight, shot for about 20-40 minutes. There was no issue.

  Swarovski STS-65 HD 20-60x65mm is an excellent piece of equipment, designed and manufactured as one would expect of a fine birding trail product. It's very solid, precisely machined, and beautifully finished. Works perfectly, with excellent optics.

  LG BL95U-W 4k monitor mates into a MacBook via Thunderbolt3 and another laptop through HDMI and jaggle between them without having to unplug before swapping to the other. It has optimized my home office productivity multifold. The most helpful and friendly staff who took the time to explain things to me. I can’t wait to head back to get my full-swing mount setup.

  I have dealt with them about four or five times now, and every time, I have found them to be knowledgeable and patient.   I had nothing but slick experiences with Josephs and his team. Customer service with a personal touch, I find him very passionate about his industry, and it shows. As I am a relatively new full-frame cameras' enthusiast (under 5 years), I appreciate people like him for taking the time to talk to me about things like getting into different Sensor sizes, still image resolution, lens & sensor care and maintenance, tips for being more proficient and accurate, etc. It's a little touch that I have not seen very much with other photography dealers who are either not as available or don't have the expertise that the rich technical experience that Josephs has. Any time I need some work done, there's no doubt that I will be going to Wayfield and Sons. Thank you for the excellent work that you do.

  Have used LaCie Rugged HDD for a week. My laptop was starting to get really inefficient due to lack of storage space so I decided to order an external hard drive from Wayfield and Sons. Asked these guys for a LaCie hard drive that was highly recommended, so I tried it. The product was amazing,very small size and portability.. Wayfield and Sons also delivered it on time like they always do. Very satisfied

  I just received my Nikon F6 35mm film SLR yesterday having ordered it on 5/12/2020. I would recommend everyone to either approach them for price match or purchase from Wayfield&Sons. Ryan was a great salesman and photography teacher. Kept the customers engaged with his humor and wit. I also had a chance to meet a renowned NY Photographer Jonathan Higbee, who swung by as I was heading out. Both genuinely great guys and seem to have a ton of knowledge and experience with 35mm film cameras. Just completed my analog portrait shooting so once it's done processing, I'll be heading back to make my contents.

  Called and ended up working with Josephs. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Zero pressure atmosphere was helpful since I have little knowledge of full-frame photography. Got me setup with a couple of reasonably priced lenses for full-frame photography purposes. Will definitely purchase from them again...hopefully they’ll have more selection in stock. Express Manhattan pick up these days.

  I bought a Nikon Coolpix W300 before traveling to Miami coastlines. Could snap a few photos and a short video before travel to make sure it was working, and it seemed to be fully functional. However, on my first plunge, the camera froze after about 1 minute in the middle of the first underwater video I filmed. After that, couldn't even take a still picture until I got back on the boat, opened the camera and dissembled the body. Tried this again on another dive with the same result, so I was stuck in the oceans on a rare trip without an underwater video camera. The stills were good, but obviously I was very disappointed - missed several good opportunities to film whales and other marine life. Received a replacement quickly and without problem from Wayfield & Sons, but haven't tried out the new camera yet.

  I bought a camera here last year but they didn't have a platform for customer reviews. Now that I've this opportunity and have used the product, I'm lucky. For more than a year, I've been using the Mamiya RZ67 for portraiture and wedding photography. It's a system consisting of very good build quality of the camera and lenses. I shot using a tripod support and I was impressed by the performance. It is the incremental advancement of the legendary RZ Pro II, the industry standard used by many of today's most renowned photographers and artists because of its large 6x7cm ideal format negative size, over four and a half times larger than 35mm. It creates stunning portraits and breathtaking close-up photography. Thanks Wayfield & Sons for this camera!!!

  I'm a hobby photographer I thought my Canon 70D was good enough rather than spend a grand on a new camera. Wayfield&Sons sold me a 6D Mark II. This was my first full frame camera and I had previously been using a crop sensor camera. The difference in quality has been amazing. The camera is fairly easy to use and has so many rich suite of features. I am loving my new camera. I wanted a superior upgrade from the 70D. After researching, reading the reviews, I settled on the Canon 6D Mark II and it has met all my needs and expectations.

  Josephs sold me a MEADE SLR cam adapter, the fit on this and the T-mount were smooth and I had no problems mounting a Canon T2i to a Meade LX90-ACF. It's a solid and rugged piece for prime focus astrophotography, I've been using this adapter most of the Covid Lockdown the shots of the lunar surface, & Mars are awesome. I even got a pic of stars in the constellation Sagittarius. Highly recommended store for telescopes and accessories.

  Wayfield&Sons store is a decent photography store to go to if you are in New York. The store is set up very nicely, and the customer service is very friendly. The photography variety to me personally was a little limited compared to other stores, however they do include some used large & medium format cameras for decent prices. If you are planning on buying a Leica at retail price, this store may not be the best for you if you are tight on cash, however if you are a beginner looking for a nice used Canon for cheap, then this store would be a good fit. If you are an experienced photography expert, then you may want to look elsewhere."

  This camera APSC a very good camera: Purchased SD Quattro, Sigma's latest interchangeable lens camera is unparalleled on the mirrorless arm's race of viewfinders and manual focus resolution. I never recommend Sigma cameras to beginners because most of them are not as commonplace as Nikons or Canon, and because they are quite a bit more difficult to use than other cameras. I've been buying and using Sigma cameras for at least 7years and I like them all very much. Mainstream Nikon cameras simply cannot give you the superb image quality unparalleled to film, but you do have to work for it both in using the camera and in processing the images.

  Wayfield & Sons is my go-to for darkroom chemistry, alternative process & miscellaneous chemistry. I recently ordered photographers' Formulary 07-0091. The service is excellent, customer-centric and shop suffused with the aura of photography. This formula is absolutely fantastic! I remember using this in the photo lab while I was still a photographer, so I ordered a couple bottles for myself. It did not disappoint! Even though I hadn't used this product for a couple of years, the instructions were very clear and quickly refreshed my memory. Solutions substrates are very amenable. I was even able to make a few Cyanotypes in a home darkroom. 5 stars!

  We produce a weekly online broadcast that requires multiple cameras and studio-quality audio. We upgraded from the Roland 4-channel HDMI mixer for a Blackmagic ATEM Switcher. PROS: There are 8 inputs that can be mixed in a variety of ways. All 8 inputs must be the same resolution and frame rate. There are SDI Program outputs which may be converted to HDMI using one of our mini converters. To get inputs with scalers, you could look at the Television Studio Pro 4K. This small store is abundant for production switchers/controllers for studio EFP rigs. Highly recommended if you in NYC..

  I ordered a telescope add-on here three months earlier from JMI Telescopes. My JMI Telescopes MOTOFOCUS works well in reducing trembling during focus. Easy to set up from the box on-the-go! I'm using it with my NEXSTAR 6SE, It works perfectly allowing me to fine tune my focus and I don't have to touch the telescope so no more shaking when viewing. My only complaint is that it took a while for Wayfield &Sons to get one in stock from JMI, not their fault (but was still frustrating).
