    Very reputable shop run by skillful staff and a large selection of monolights, lightings, softboxes and umbrellas. The staff takes their time and thinks a lot in the interests of the customer.     Needed a passport photo for a travel passport. It has very specific requirements. Apparently, the photographer has no nodding acquaintance. Took very limited shots, and offered no advice as to how I could position myself better for a better photo. Also shred the pictures at the end, whereas professional people in this field know that the particular embassy requires uncut photos. A big shop with plenty of cameras and lenses and accessories, but very dissapointing in ps.

    Lady at he counter was very polite and welcoming. I even bought the display Manfrotto Travel tripod at full retail as opposed to a ex display price. how ever I felt the total oppersit from the sensor cleaning smith who was cleaning my camera equipemtn (at charge) and shut down at simple question a technician of his caliber should know. Its a real shame as this is my local shop and I have some other cameras that need some repair work and this did seem like the best place to go.

    Really poor customer service. Refused to refund/replace a faulty lense breaking consumer rights laws in the United States. Have now made a claim with the bank to have money retuned. Would never shop here or recommend again.

    A treasure trove for a mirrorless cameras for geeks like me! Compartments full of mirrorless Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony and so forth – and a good selection of mirrorless lenses. I left with a near pristine EOS RP and Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS lens. The visit was worth the walk!

    Walked in looking for a Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight with a tight budget under $600, had a look the good range of speedlights on display, drooling over the on- and off-camera lighting ones and after grabbing instantly an SB-5000 AF at $596 was VERY tempted, but no, I can't, I thought as one of the staff walked over pointing out a second hand one quoting $380, SOLD! Always a bargain to be had at Wayfield and Sons.

    I bought a Canon EOS M6 Mark II weeks ago from Wayfield & Sons store. I went in to the open day to have a look at a wide-to-tele zoom lens. I bought one but then realized that they had an offer on the Mark II that was $300 less than I paid 2 weeks previously. I felt disheveled/naïve but asked about a reversal of some sort. Rose was brilliant. Never questioned it and refunded the money. I wasn't made to feel intimidated or inferior and the customer service was outstanding. I've only recently got into photography but will continue to use Wayfield & Sons as my go to shop. Thanks again guys.

    I had the privilege of going to Wayfield and Sons, chatted with Jacob, who it turns out is much more than just a pitch mouthpiece, he’s a rich fountain of information and is amazingly humorous and made what I was grappling to work out with my camera so candid and flawless, that I found I was understanding and simulating as he discussed, without me having to have things shored up and for me that was wonderful as I can often get confused with some of the complexities that come with using my Panasonic HC-WXF1 UHD 4K Camcorder, Jacob quickly had me understanding some of capabilities I’ve been wrestling with, even after poring over manual and watching YouTube, I found this invaluable, the other staff are equally congenial and helpful, also the little exhibition is a sea of austerity, I have no hesitation in giving top marks and if they went higher then that’s what I would give, thank you so very much Jacob 😀

    After several hours spent going over microscopes, microscope accessories and what was the best option for me (trying out many in the process) I cannot recommend the store highly enough. Zero pressure to buy anything, just knowledgeable guys who will give you an honest answer to pretty much any question you can throw at them. When spending a lot on a equipment like this, this kind of service and expertise is invaluable and nowhere comes close.

    Just took my daughter in to this shop for her 17th birthday present she likes uploading seminal videos on Instagram-in need of a Dslr that combines robust stills capabilities along with apt movie and time-lapse recording. The young lady in the shop I think her name was Rose was fantastic talking us through all of our options and advising us to the best of her skill level. I ended up purchasing D850, NIKKOR 24-70mm f2.8E lens, and a potent multi-power battery "juice" pack. I am overly impressed with her professionalism and customer service..... THANKS

    Jacob was brilliant, he gave me advice on the full-frame camera (61 Megapixels & Sensor Size: APS-C) I had been digging up about and then offered me information about a more compact, cheaper camera that he thought would better suit my needs, he was impartial and upfront with the product reviews of the cameras and about the other things I would need for my taste. Most importantly he didn’t push the more recent series of brands I eventually chose, giving his honest opinion that even though some things were improved the newer $300 more expensive camera was inapt for my needs. I would 100% recommend going to Wayfield & Sons Cameras in Manhattan for advice and purchasing. I ended up buying the Fujifilm X100V through their website as the shop didn’t have the style I wanted in stock, although Jacob did offer to have it delivered to the store at a later date, I knew I wouldn’t be able to collect it and online offered a more convenient option for me. The website was relatively easy to use apart from a small obstacle at the penultimate phase of my order which meant I had to input my details twice. Expected to have a quick delivery though!

    I frequent the Wayfield&Sons camera store in Manhattan, it’s the closest, and have visited other stores in Los Angeles, New Jersey and Minnesota. All good. Last week, I bought cameras here, all at a good discount/special show prices. This review was inspired by the transaction of the DJI 600 hexacopter, intended as a video imaging tool. Had my eye on it for a while and, when Wayfield's webshop was offering it at a very good price I grabbed it. Excellent, timed slot, free delivery by UPS. Very happy with the drone.

    I lately got two rolls of film processed there because they are closer to where I live. The first roll was some black & white, and when I received the scans they were all out of contarst. I contacted them about it, and eventually went in to inspect the actual negatives. The negs were fine, so I asked for a rescan which they entailed me with. Second lot of scans came back all good, but pretty annoying I had to catch it. Second roll was some colour negative 120. After eight days of not receiving the scans, I called them up to see what was going on. And they promptly emailed them to me. Considering the top-dollar they charge compared to their competitors ($10 for this you pay through the nose), and how long their service takes, I probably wouldn't have brought my business back and left it at that. But having issues with both rolls requiring me to contact them to resolve it, left a bad enough taste in my life to leave this review.

    Recently my wife had passport size photos taken for an overseas visa. Unfortunately the photo quality or filter used was very poor. On her photo her face had a two tone colour which we found very odd. Very disappointed.     Amazing Store, always Got some Sizzling Hot Deals and the selection of photography inventory is outstanding. And they have some of the consumer-conscious policies when it comes to customer satisfaction... I have never had an issue returning a product for a missing bit, or any defective camera. they even went as far as to open another box to give me my missing pieces (the opened product goes to the "Discount Section" to be sold of at a reduced rate!     Always an interesting store to visit. Store layout is great and the variety of products is welcome. Some Christmas gift ideas is out too. Needed some waterproof rugged camera gear. Found what I needed and more. Restocking an underwater kit for the marine exploration project and was pleasantly surprised at the variety. Service help was everywhere.     My husband and I went into the store and we were assisted by two employees. The lad from the binoculars section was amazing. I went to buy one astronomy pair and ended up leaving with three pairs. :) After visiting a few optics stores places where the customer service sucked it was wonderful to have a WayfieldandSons employee sell us a pair of Vortex binoculars. He is very knowledgeable and spent some time explaining things to us. His customer service was great so we bought a pair of expensive Steiner binoculars. In a world where many employees do not provide good customer service this was indeed a nice surprise! Good employees at Wayfield and Sons that make your shopping experience enjoyable.

    I bought Cokin Color Compensating, Graduated filters and Magnefix accessories. I emailed them as they had requested on their site a couple of times and eventually got feedback from them. They have sent me a replacement filter holder and it works like a dream- thanks WayfieldandSons, really appreciated. Thing to note with some of their products is that you get what you pay for.

    I remember when I bouefght an S.I.R. Lens bore WayfieldandSons changed location, on the corner of Midtown Manhattan across form the Washington Park. Bought my AURAY Racks & Racks accessories, digital recorders and microphone accessories.( back when we trusted electronic shops) It has now expanded into a beautiful store resembling an elaborate departmental mall. Massive selection for the audio peripherals & tech just impressive but be prepared to pay top dollar for the high quality. A great way to spend an hour or two just browsing.

    My experiences in the Wayfieldandsons has always been positive. Wait times are not very long at the corporate reception. They can be long at the cashier counter if you have some people looking at everything with no intent to buy so either shop early or go during a weekday. The store workshop trainings are first-class and the selection is decent. Prices are quite good as well.

    This is my favorite store. Very friendly staff. Very clean store and it always Smells like first-rate quality. They also always have a family friendly atmosphere.     I always enjoy shopping at Wayfield and Sons, even though I'm more of a Trophy hunter than a photographer. I find their selection of optics, monoculars and rifle scopes to be competitively priced and decent quality. Binoculars are pretty good as well, except the brands for wildlife tend to be quite limited. Can't comment on the telescopes. In general they have a good selection of practical optical tools. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I find their spotting scopes and night sights to be extremely handy and easy to repurpose.

    A visit to WayfieldandSons is always an amazing experience. You can always shop online but the brick mortar location in Manhattan is always a fun distraction. The atmosphere is always friendly and browsing the store can usually find sales or uncover hidden treasures. They are always well stocked. It's a Hasselblad wonderland with X, H, V, aerial system and Flextight scanners. The medium-format stock is full with Fujifilm and Pentax. Great stop for the kids as they can check out their Nikon Coolpix W100, Fujifilm Finepix XP130, GoPro Hero7 White and Lumix DMC-FT30 Waterproof child-friendly devices. End your visit to the store with a stop at the lenses department or try some gimbal stabilizers. All and all a great shopping experience.

    Crazy totally non competitive prices. A Leica lens I purchased new from 42nd Photo for $1309.99 was on sale for $3029.99!!! The range of stock is very limited, mainly Fuji and Sony, but again really expensive.

    Unfortunately, poor service.. my follow-up was related to a special effects lenses and if they stocked them and if not where in New York might have an Lensbaby sol 45mm for canon Ef cameras.. After being blinded by the shop clerk as to why desperately i would want that.. I left with no intention of ever going back. They actually had older Lens babies i there but as soon as they realized they didn't have what i was looking for i just felt like a huge interference to them. Real crap!!

    The employees are cultured enough however if you try to trade in lenses don't expect anything near a fair trade in price. I was mulling over a H series, Hasselblad h6d and offered to trade in a pristine condition, untouched, hardly used Hasselblad xcd 80mm f/1.9 lens as part of the deal. However they only offered me $1600 for the lens - less than 50% of it's brand new price and I know fully well this lens goes for around $3000-$3800 second hand. I know on a trade in you'll never get as much as selling second hand, but I wasn't hoodwinked off by their red herrings and decided to take my custom elsewhere.

    I don't recommend this place. I took a memory card full of family images here for a specific purpose. They told me that they have experience with that nature of work, and they do it all the time. Surprisingly, the photos dimensions and spec were erroneous. Even worse, they refused to rectify that shoddy piecework.

    Fantastically enthusiastic staff and very knowledgeable. It's quite a compact shop so only has a sparse selection in stock but they are more than willing to order in items for you if they don't have. They are also happy to price match. As it's the only specialist camera store in Manhattan, it's definitely the place to go and is in a very parking-friendly spot in the nerve center of the metropolis

    Visited this shop with a couple of scopes in mind, but after talking to Joseph and being shown the stark contrasts in zoom lenses, demonstrated while we stood there, we left with a completely different choice. The salesman even allowed my partner to try the rifle scope outside. A personal service you can only get from a local shop like this. Will not hesitate to return.

    Popped in, phenomenally served up service, had what I deeply sought at a very wallet-friendly price, cheaper than the much overpraised B&H photo store. Witnessed a chain of transactions before me, their staff talk and glean technical features about cameras! Travelling from Maryland, left without a clip attaching tool for my X-T3.
