  UPDATE TWO WEEKS LATER: I received an e-mail from Peugeot Sauveurs personnel. It was well worded and heart-felt. In it, they asked me for a second chance. In all fairness, I decided to give them the requested second chance; but there is another reason. Read on. Few decades back, I went to France. I had planned to spend three or four months; but I couldn't leave. I spent three years. The reason is well represented with words from a famous writer who once wrote... "There are two places where you feel good. At home and in Paris." During my lengthy staying, I learned that French people are all about the Refinements of Life. Wether it is about food, wine, or elegance, the French are up there. I owned two Peugeot cars, and a whole lot of things that they make. They are serious about their reputation and understanding of quality. When I landed at Peugeot Sauveurs' web site, lots of fine memories came to mind; and I placed my first order right away. You may imagine how heartbroken I was when a month later I was still waiting for those precious things that French people make under the name of Peugeot. So, I'll go back to their web site and I will order what I want and few things that I do not need; but if all those exquisite, well-made, and well thought-out things help me bring back reminiscences of great three years that the French people gave me, well... then... I want what I do not need as well. Welcome to the land of Renoir, Voltaire, Pasteur, and Gustave Eiffel who designed the Statue of Liberty.

  Update… Customer Service is exceptional. I was provided with a replacement product and a jar of salt.The packaging was very secure minimizing spillage of salt in the box. The products are well crafted and work great. They also look fantastic on my kitchen counter.

  Thank you, for offering the variety of salt pepper to be used specifically with the Peugeot grinders. I purchased several types of salt to see if I can get some use out of two Peugeot salt mills I purchased a short time ago. Using store bought Himalayan pink salt was a bust with the mills. I even used the salt that came with the mills - both still clogged. It's frustrating to purchase brand new Peugeot S P mills that don't work as well as some inferior made S P mills. I have only been able to grind a very fine dust using either of my Peugeot salt mills using Sel Blanc.

  I was quite disappointed with my salt mill. It simply did not work, the chunks of salt coming out about the same size as they came in, and there was no way to adjust to a finer grind, since the top screw kept coming loose. After a good deal of negotiation with customer service, I was issued a new mill - and while it worked a little bit better than the original, it still worked so poorly that I have retired it in preference of a disposable Trader Joe's salt mill. It works so much better. I have always been a fan of Peugeot, which to me stands for the best. So I was surprised and disappointed.

  All went well with the order. The issue is that once I was notified of shipping paperwork being readied, I never got any other updates on shipping. Tracking number always showed label created. Also, the shipping cost was extremely high for this small piece. It shipped in a rather large box. It could have been shipped first class mail in a padded envelope and a reasonable handling change added. Then the shipping charge would have matched the items size and weight.

  We received one as a wedding gift 53 years ago. It lasted all this time. It lost some screws underneath & in the cylinder. It was time to replace. The new one weighs twice as much and is beautiful…..we’re very pleased with both. The original is now a decoration in our kitchen cabinet. Love them both…..

  I received a defective item but had to go through warranty, because the customer service rep would not send me a shipping label for free. Then the customer service sent me two items by mistake. Asked me to return the extra item (with shipping label for free now). I accidentally returned the defective item. I then received several emails (almost to the point of harassment) about sending the non-defective item back, however, they did not send me the defective item back. So at this point, you have kept the defective item and also the extra shipped item, which wasn’t my fault, by the way. I am guessing you will now sell the defective item again. Never had such bad customer service. Will not buy from your website again.

  The salt and pepper mill set look stylish, work well and provide a nice consistent grind. I felt the coating on the upper wooden cap for each mill was a bit thin so I added additional clear coating myself to each wooden cap. Overall I am pleased with my purchase.

  We have had best customer service experience in many years. We didn't love the pepper mill we bought despite strong positive reviews and the Peugeot team was very engaged in understanding precisely why we didn't like it, and in helping us choose a different model --and then covering the cost of returning the first and paying the difference on the price of the second. The entire experience was extraordinary: the thoughtfulness and thoroughness of responses and the ease and efficiency of engagement.

  Tried many grinders in the past and never found any I did not get frustrated with. First 1/4 twist on the Peugeot and I knew I had found the best. I purchased the Paris uSelect Salt and Pepper mills Duo wood in chocolate finish 7". The site was easy to navigate, billing was quick and easy, shipping was lightning fast and I doubt I will need customer service as the site and the product tell all. PERFECT!! I will be buying more sets as gifts.

  I ordered Item: 18000016010 Designation: Bistro Chef Manual Salt Mill in Stainless Steel 10cm 4in EAN: 4006950033040 Positive: -Appears Elegant Negative: -Extremely light for “Stainless Steel” -Plastic parts line the bottom of the exterior and completely line the interior despite the booklet stating “…materiality of wood, metal, or glass…” -The craftsmanship and quality of the item’s interior was cheap and misleading, i.e., the plastic. I have ordered from this company before and I will attest to their beautiful and elegant craftsmanship. The previous item I ordered was a Cast Iron Pepper Grinder and it was beautiful, heavy, and contained no plastic - the quality was superb. I was shocked to find that this current item was disgustingly made with no regards to the Artistry and Craftsmanship this Company is known for. I am extremely disappointed and appalled.

The Cast Iron Pepper Grinder is an absolutely beautiful mill, but is in a different category and price point than the "Bistro Chef Manual Salt Mill in Stainless Steel 10cm."   Stupidly expensive but shipment received promptly. Would appreciate the bulb type listed in my owner’s manual or at least on the website so I don’t feel as much as a captive consumer. The mills were plenty expensive, don’t need to be gouged yet again. Instructions were somewhat lacking doubt the funds from the high prices are being diverted to make their written materials more user friendly.
