  We were introduced to Said for a tour of Morocco.He lead us through a wonderful experience of his home country.We visited Casablanca, Essaouria, Marrakesh and Ait Benhaddou.The green valleys were beautiful against the stark contrast of the brown Atlas mountains where the rocky Sahara begins.Said made sure to steer us towards the safest places in terms of food and security. His connections with local artists gave us a wonderful shopping experience in several of the markets. Thank you so much

  We are so privileged to have had the opportunity to visit Jerusalem, and we could not have gotten a better guide than Meir. His in-depth historical knowledge, storytelling capabilities, and sense of humour made our Jerusalem visit unique. One day is not enough, so we hope we can come back for a second tour with Meir.

  Zoe was outstanding in every way! She was extremely knowledgeable of the area and she took the time to get to know us through normal conversation so she could seemlessly tailor the tour to our liking. We had a fabulous time and wouldn't change a thing. We would highly recommend Zoe for engaging and exciting tours of Cornwall.

  Antonella guided our 2 hour city walking tour and was very pleasant, knowledgeable and fluent in English. Our couples group especially enjoyed the fresh bread treat mid-tour. She knows the city well and enjoys sharing its history and culture.

  This was a very wonderful experience for my partner and I. Don was a pleasure to interact with, and he regaled us with local history. Some of the tour areas could not be viewed due to the closures as a result of Fiona. We saw many downed trees and damaged structures that the storm wrought. Don found alternatives for us. Speaking of accessibility, I am deaf and an amputee sometimes reliant on a wheelchair. Don was very accommodating to my needs. Book this lifelong PEI resident. It's worth it!

  She was prompt picking us up, her vehicle was clean and the AC worked great. She knew all about the Volcanos. She provided water, carried binoculars to help us see the 'orange lava', had umbrellas against the heat. One of our party wasn't up to the walk and was able to wait in the bus. (15 passenger van) I considered this tour a total success.

  Jean M deserves 10 stars. His knowledge of WWII and the Resistance is incredible and he imparts that in a way that draws you into the time and lives of the people during WWII. Jean is not only an excellent guide, he is friendly, courteous and kind. Most importantly, you leave feeling as though you've met someone of importance, who is making a difference and a contribution by teaching of a time in not only Lyon's history, but the world's history.

  We loved our tour with Richie! He was very accommodating, meeting us at our hotel, and we learned so much. He kept both of my kids, ages 11 and 14 very engaged and inspired them to do their own research. I highly recommend a tour with Richie!

  If I could rate Bill any higher I would. He not only guided us but educated us as well as made it very personable and thorough. Our church had chosen a different guide who was not able to do the tour and was our seniors were left in an impossible situation with no guide! Bill was contacted and came in at the absolute last minute and we realized that he was indeed the chosen one to help us. He also followed up with us at least twice to make sure the rest of our visit was good after the tour experience.

  Rene was an excellent guide. My family of four had a lot of fun and learned a lot about Montreal today. The combination food tour and historical city tour was very informative for my family. Rene showed us a lot of Montreal that a normal bus tour will not cover. Kudos to Rene and I highly recommend you use him when in Montreal.

  Wow! What a great way to spend the day and learn all about the war on Okinawa! Kumiko was great from start to finish. She contacted me ahead of my trip to let me know appropriate clothing for where we were going so I would make sure to pack right. She arranged a van and driver so we were comfortable all day with great A/C. She had the day well planned and answered all our questions, she even helped us find the perfect lunch place for our dietary needs. She was wonderful and I 100% recommend her to ALL!!!!

  I would have to say out tour was a 5 out of 5 This is the second time we have toured with Paul. He is very informative and showed us some new sites this time. The light show in the cave was amazing. If we ever get back to Gibraltar I would not hesitate to call on him or recommend him to my friends. Thank you Paul for a very enjoyable tour. Our friends had never been to Gibraltar and they absolutely loved the tour.

  Csaba's love of Scotland is evident in his deep knowledge of the country and its history and culture. He is an excellent guide in that important regard, and also in his easy-going, fun and attentive approach. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him on Isle of Skye, which included a morning of hiking and an afternoon of visits to cultural sites. We saw a lot, learned a lot, and had fun doing it.

  Marianne is very personable and knowledgeable about Saanich Peninsula history and flora. She was accommodating of our special request to drive by a few places in Victoria on our way to Butchart Gardens, and also took us on a quest to find Nanaimo Bars before delivering us to the ferry at the end of the day. She took us to an adorable local eatery for lunch. Bonus: she takes good pictures! If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely look her up.

  We're so glad we decided to hire Nathan instead of hang around at our hotel before our flight home - there is nothing like seeing a new city from a local's perspective. Nathan was punctual, incredibly knowledgable, fun and friendly. We're especially grateful for the friends & experts he enlisted to walk us through Mandela's house and the Kliptown shanties. This tour is a must-do when visiting Joburg and Nathan is the best tour guide there is!

  Olivier was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely nice. We did three major tastings, each one of which was amazing. We wound up purchasing wine at all three. We had a chance to see much of the countryside around Beaune with a great guide. We won't forget Olivier or this wonderful full-day adventure

  Alessandro is a delightful guide, flexible, extremely friendly, and with a deep knowledge of Puglia. He created the perfect day in the Itria Valley for us, a combination of sights we had requested, and also food and wine tasting. We had one of the best lunches we've ever had in Italy, and had the opportunity to experience Puglia as locals do. Take a tour with him - you won't regret it!

  Our guide, Greg, was wonderful. We were a party of five adults and Greg took us all over Anchorage and out to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. He was very informative, we learned a lot about Anchorage and the surrounding area. Greg took us to a tram which went up Mt. Alyeska for lunch, wonderful lunch, fantastic view. We're Harley riders, so he made a special stop for us at the Harley Davidson shop. Greg was awesome and made our visit to Anchorage really special. HIGHLY, recommend him.

  Oguz arrived at our hotel exactly on time, and was immediately friendly and easy to communicate with having a very good use of English. We had followed all his advice, and were well prepared with water for the journey, and Lira for the trams, and entry fees for the various historic attractions. All his dialogue relating to the custom itinerary we requested was first class. Being slightly taller than average, Oguz is easy to follow in a crowd. Would definitely recommend Oguz to see the best of Istanbul.

  This was our first time visiting South America. Rodger made the transition to the culture and Peru as a whole welcoming and enjoyable. Rodger was not only knowledgeable about Cusco but you could hear/see his passion for the culture.   Jay was early and prepared for my shopping tour. Two days prior I had provided a list of requests. Jay was ready and had a friend drive a car in case she had to wait on the street due to no parking available. This saved us a lot of time. Jay let me set the pace and I shopped at Insadong, Myeong-dong and the market. It was the perfect tour and I will use Jay again

  It was a great tour! Adriane was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and patient. We were a little late in finding her because we didn't know where to look until we asked for directions. She was where she was supposed to be holding a sign! We enjoyed the tour very much. She did a great job!

  Due to a family emergency, our initial guide was not able to take us on our tour, I was contacted by Tours by Locals and within days, we had a new guide take over. Carlos stepped in and was truly awesome. He is well versed, and we learn so much from him. Carlos was on time for pick up and safely drove us to our destination and back. We felt very comfortable with him. Highly recommended. Will use Tours again.

  The most authentic and magical cultural immersion ever. Do not hesitate to book this! Bulent and his lovely wife, Gulay, prepared authentic and truly delicious Turkish dishes using fresh vegetables from their mountaintop garden. Our awesome day included Bulent's Turkish rug weaving and a beautiful sharing of our cultures. Bulent entertained us by playing his traditional instruments, and singing. It was a truly magical experience which we will cherish forever. You will fall in love with this family!

  We did a fabulous tour of Eilean Donan castle followed by a tour of Skye. Gordon was very knowledgeable, personable and accommodating. A few places we had hoped to visit were closed but we found other interesting things to see. This was our second day touring with Gordon. We all highly recommend him and plan to pass his details on to others for their visit to Scotland.

  Touring with Greg was a pleasure. He is so knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. He knows so much about the history of Alaska and the points of interest that he showed us.   This tour was the best part of our whole 15 day trip in Europe!!! Everyone was so lovely and welcoming from the moment we met them and the food was absolutely amazing! If you want spend a day with a fantastic family and learn their culture and experience their food, this is the tour for you!   Michael was one of the best private tour guides we have ever had. We toured with him for 2 days. My husband had limited mobility and Michael made sure we were able to see all the things that we requested. On the day in Jerusalem he was able to set up rental of a golf cart. Without that we would have never been able to see it. One of our best days ever.

  We got to meet both Emre and his wife an really appreciated their passion for guiding and ways to add additional options to the standard tours. (cooking classes, bike tours, private lunch options in the countryside) Emre was very professional and well aware of how to move us around the big tour groups in Ephesus. Very knowledgeable and flexible to meet our desires of what we wanted to focus in on. He worked well with the driver and got from place to place very efficiently.

  We had an incredible tour with Tomasz. He was flexible and attentive. That day it was a rainy day and also my husband had an issue with his ankle, so I canceled with Tomasz. He replied promptly to offer alternatives and he took us on a tour in a car! It was so nice of him and the tour itself was so great! We fell in love with Poznan and want to return to learn more. Tomasz is personable, knowledgeable and a great guy overall! We hope to tour him in the future. Thank you Tomasz!!!

  I had a half-day tour with Alice in Tinos and I can't be happier with my choice: 1) Alice is a great conversationalist! She doesn't just share facts but also can tell a lot about everyday island life and her personal experiences. 2) The program is flexible taking into account the interests of tourists. I asked her about the possibility to go to a not well-known far away point and she agreed. So, we had a great experience and I fulfilled my dream to see one of the most magical places. Highly recommend her!

  Valeria gave us an interesting tour encompassing many different areas of Milan. We travelled by tram and train from the Duomo in the centre to the Navigli in the south, and then to modern Puerta Nuova. Valeria was extremely informative, interesting and knowledgeable about the history of Milan and we would highly recommend her as a guide. Thank you Valeria!

  From the start of our tour Neal was engaging and entertaining. Although my wife and I had been on a bus tour of the area in 2015 we didn't have the time to fully enjoy the Cliffs of Moher. But on this tour with Neal's expert guidance we had time for the Cliffs, lunch in Doolin, and time to explore the other sites on the Burren that we were excited to see. Neal is probably one of the best Tours by Locals guide that we've had. Neal, thanks for the great experience!

  Ann was truly a delight to be with! We really appreciated her thoughtful explanations on everything we were seeing. My whole family very much enjoyed having her by our side as we toured the Pre-History museum and the caves. It was very educational and fascinating!

  A repeat tour, but first for my wife, Michai catered for the both of us, taking us to different local areas on various types of land/water transport, where we were able to integrate with the locals, Michai translating as we went, the highlight, homemade Thai cuisine in a local Thai home, you really can't get closer to Thai life. Unforgettable memories captured on this tour with the feeling we were Thais out with a friend. This tour is well worth the trip if you want to see behind the scenes in Thailand.

  Robert was fantastic! My husband, 13 year daughter and I went with Robert to the Verdon Gorge from Nice. It was a long day of togetherness in the car and it was pleasure to be with Robert. We learned so much about France from him. He chose several great stops in the French country side with local markets and wonderful good. Kayaking in Verdon Gorge was unbelievable! Although the river was too low to go into the gorge, the scenery, the turquoise water, and the kayaking on the lake was unforgettable!

  Niki was our guide for Olympia in August 2022. Clearly she loves what she does, her knowledge of the site and of Greece is incredible. She paints the picture and one can almost feel as if he/she is being brought back to the time the Olympic Games started. Such a pleasure to have had her as our guide. Thank you Niki!

  Calum treated us to a very personal experience on the way from Inverness to Isle of Skye and back. He is a very knowledgeable person about the history of the area and is a pleasure to spend the day with. Calum arranged a very flexible day and balanced off things he thought we should see vs things we wanted to do. We had a very memorable day and won't soon forget our experience!

  It's impossible to say enough good things about Diego (and his driver Eric!) and our experiences at the Coba ruins, underground cenote, homemade lunch/tour with an amazing Mayan family, and ziplining/canoeing at the monkey sanctuary.   Fantastic tour. The whole family thought this was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The vineyard owner, Barbara, is so impressive. It was a pleasure to meet her. Our guide, Sara, was friendly, helpful, full of information and just plain fun. I can't recommend this trip highly enough. We loved the vineyard, lunch (delicious) and tour thru Verona. We needed to get from Milan to Venice. Not only was this stress free, it was fascinating, fun and relaxing. And our driver, Massimo, was very helpful as well.

  Our tour of Charlottetown today was exceptional. Jack customized it to our wishes. He shared all the aspects of Charlottetown that make it special to locals & visitors. He showed us important civic & cultural sites. We visited the north side of PEI and saw the beautiful red sand beaches and the colorful countryside.   Mindo was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. My family and I only had 4 hours in Malta and he took us on a whirlwind tour. He was patient with my elderly parents and explained all of the sites and history in great detail (and my dad being well-read in history was very inquisitive).   Massimiliano was great from the very first contact. He answered to our email right away - WHAT A LUCK FOR US !!! We were a group of 10 and it was a terrific day! A clean van for 14 was perfect for the 10 of us, cold drinks and snacks to spoil us. We started at 9am and ended the day with the bay cruise. We saw a bit of everything and a lot you would not see as a "normal" tourist. Max explained everything nicely & politely and the Cuban sandwich was delicious. He helped in a medical situation in our group and drove two of us after his "working time" to the hotel, THANK YOU again, Massimiliano.

The Troubles is apart of the tour -and Bloody Sunday- but not the main focus, more the historical background of the city going back hundreds of years.   What a day! Michael is a warm-hearted font of information. He quickly assessed our needs and organized our itinerary accordingly.   What a great day!!!! We learned so much from Thomas, and he was extremely knowledgeable and fun. The fact that we were able to see so much in Skagway makes us want to return soon. This tour was better than anything our cruise ship offered. He was easy to communicate with, took us to places that interested us, and he knows everyone.   Wow! Hilke was amazing! Our teenagers were dreading their third tour in 10 days. Hilke was able to adapt our tour to start in the neighborhood where they could see street art and then took us to see the sites that were interesting to them. She gave high level overviews but answered details when we asked. She has an incredible energy that got our kids interested. I wish we could bring her to every city! This is our 4th private tour and by far the best.

  Alex was a truly wonderful guide. He really brought Lyon to life for us, a family of five (children ages 16, 14, and 11). He spoke perfect English, answered many questions about Lyon and French culture in general, and gave great recommendations. His tour was incredibly informative not just of the traboules, but of Lyon's old city as well. He was one of the best guides we ever had in Europe, and we've had many.
