This was the BEST tour of our 2 week South American Cruise. Gonzalo was flexible and accommodated our needs (mobility issues and a diabetic who experienced some trouble during our outing) He was personable and had a great grasp of the history in the areas he took us to. Our party all ranked this as our favorite excursion.

I can highly recommend Alex in Berlin. He is super knowledgeable and cares a great deal about making the tour personal, enjoyable and informative. We saw and learnt a lot more than we expected. Personally he is very nice and it is fun to walk around with him. Communication and coordination was very easy and to the point. He also provided tips for activities and restaurants outside of the tour. Overall I was very happy I chose him and I would book a tour with him anytime.

Antonella has an impeccable knowledge of Lucca and its history. During our private tour she answered all of our questions and allowed us to linger at the places we chose. She taught us so much about the historic stages of Lucca's development and culture. When I come back with other family members I will book this tour again.

Romain helped us honor the memory of a relative killed in action as a soldier the US Army 79th Infantry on July 5, 1944. He researched our relative's unit's activities in the liberation of the Cotentin Peninsula and shared information as he took us to Utah Beach and places off usual tours in muddy hedgerow lanes, a private chateau, and the site of a temporary cemetery. Romain genuinely cared about our objectives and the service of our relative. He was knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommended.

We had such an amazing day with Tugba! I had hired a guide on a previous visit to Ephesus & had felt hassled & hurried the whole day. But I was visiting again with my mother & wanted to make the trip easy, so I crossed my fingers & tried to find a guide here on TbL (never used them before). I'm so glad I took the risk! Tugba was FABULOUS!!! She was kind, patient, knowledgeable, dynamic... just wonderful from the moment we met through the end of the day. Don't hesitate to hire her!

Fantastic tour, can't recommend Carl enough. He went above and beyond to make our tour memorable by adding in a stop for my family to visit the grave of my great grandfather, who served in WWII. Carl is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and we learned so much from him. We had a fabulous day out and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Our tour to Transnistria with Nicolai was absolutely outstanding! The visit to Tiraspol and Bender was full of insights into the region's complex and rich history and culture. I was very fortunate to visit the Hakone are with Akio Tanaka as my guide. Given his extreme familiarity with the area, flexibility, and love of photography, my tour went flawlessly and exceeded my expectations. Being able to view and photograph the majestic Mt. Fuji from various observation points, having lunch at a centuries-old traditional cafe, and visiting a number shrines and temples were the highlights of my tour. So, I could not recommend Akio enough.

Ben was a spectacular guide and should we come back to Berlin we would certainly use him again. We were picked up at the cruise terminal on time by Carsten and driven to Berlin to meet Ben. Ben's not only know's his history, he loves sharing it. Having a private guide and driver is the way to go. Our trip to Verona was something we won't forget, we arrived by car to verona on a Friday noon, it was an Italian holiday and there were many italians in town and the parking lot were packed, Antonella went out of her way to try to help us grab a parking spot and then when we find it she went out to reach us where we were and start our tour right there. And wow, she was really knowledgeable of the city and the different spots and timings ( we only planned for a 3 hour tour around the city) but we hit it all

Besides being extremely knowledgeable about the Battle of Okinawa and always open to questions to discuss points of view, Kumiko has an adorable personality, making the customer feeling like she's someone you already knew from the start. She carries a folder with maps and pictures that help to explain the progression of the battle, as well as the locations where we are as we move from site to site. I couldn't have got a better guide to explore the sites of the final battle of the war in the Pacific.

Ms. Agnieszka Szafraniec is an incredible guide. Her command of English is remarkable, and her knowledge of Poland's and Krakow's history is impressive. We packed a lot into our tour and saw many highlights (Orotava, Masca, Garachico). We appreciated Cristo's good information about, and insights into life on Tenerife/in the Canary Islands. The lunch spot was perfect as we enjoyed local tastes, local wine (Tajinaste) and a barraquito (all were delicious)! We recommend Cristo and this tour.

My mother and I loved our fabulous tour into the Black Forest with Jean-Yves! He was very knowledgeable about the area and its history which we enjoyed learning about. Iveta is the perfect guide for touring in Riga. We toured the old town and did a food tasting at the old blimp hangars- markets, both were exceptional! We have just had a magical day exploring the Amalfi Coast with Giovanni. We found him to be a great driver/guide and was very knowledgeable and engaging. He asked what we really wanted to see and experience, and customised the tour to suit us. He was waiting to pick us up at all times after our town / site visits and gave good directions and suggestions on what to look at at the places we visited, and the drive along the coast was spectacular. The tour that Jaap provided exceeded my expectations. My goal was to see the areas where my ancestors had come from. I had provided Jaap with the information that I had, he also researched the family history and this enhanced my over-all experience. My colleague and I from Canada were in Casablanca on business and had one day off. We booked this tour with Younes and were extremely happy. Took a private tour in May 2024 with Tom and it was absolutely fantastic. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Cristo exceeded all expectations of our group. He is a true Renaissance Man, so knowledgeable in the history, geography, geology, and spirit of Tenerife and fascinating to talk with. He gave us a great flavor of the North part of the island, including a walk in a beautiful town, a walk in Anaga, a beautiful coastal drive, and a fab stop for a delicious lunch on a cliff overlooking the sea. Hello, there's nothing better I can say about Tomasz and the tour of Poznan. It was not a lecture of the historical facts about the city, rather a conversation between friends about the success and challenges Poznan has faced throughout its history. He communication style was lighthearted and I enjoyed when he wove personal stories to convey the significance of moments in Poznan history and culture. THE GOATS!!!! THE BEER NEXT TO THE CHURCH!!! Our tour of Rapa Nui by Patricia was top notch! Patricia spoke perfect English and knows the island's history, culture and how to conduct the tour to avoid crowds. She was on time for the pick up. She gives great information about every area that we visited. Patricia even timed lunch to avoid the heavy rain of the day! She was flexible on the schedule and was able to find a store to purchase a phone charging cord as I had forgotten mine. Let's just say that 5 stars is not enough for this guide!

We booked a tour guide and left with a friend! Carlo is so warm, fun, kind and knowledgeable, it is impossible not to have a fabulous experience with him. We recommend this tour for all wishing an in-depth experience of Canada's contribution on the Western Front of World War 1. The tour is well designed and includes all of the important memorials and battle sites. Abdu is an amazing guide. He was easy to communicate with while arranging the tour and during our stay as well. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained so much history and interesting facts. We really enjoyed our tour today with Khoa. He made every effort to make our tour perfect and to show us the local life of Ben Tre and the Mekong Delta. Adam is a fantastic tour guide and knows the area well. He took us to the commercial tulous and balanced it nicely with other private ones that he knows well and can get access to. He arranged a good lunch and also a fantastic passage through various water towns. My observation on ToursbyLocals is they undermanage the understanding/dilligence of their tour guides (most have been agencies not guides). This is not the case with Adam, he is the real deal, has been doing this for 7 years, is a local from this region and wants to do hsi tours well. Our group was 3 people, wife, 11 y-o daughter and me.

Our tour of Aruba was fantastic. Frances showed us everything from one end of the island all the way to the other. Frances not only showed us all the sites, but also gave us the culture and history of the island. That's what makes this tour memorable. Frances was patent and waited for use at all the stops. This was the first of three tours I had booked with Kumiko and what a great day I had. Prior communication had been excellent and the day was simply amazing. Denny is an excellent guide before, during, and after the tour. I asked him advice about where to stay and what to see. He was very helpful. He was at the hotel promptly and had a plan for the day so we could see the most at the best times. We saw the changing of the guards at the Gyeongbokgung Palace and panoramic views of Seoul in more than one location. We walked down through Bukchon Hanok Village and through Namdaemun Market. He took us to a traditional Korean restaurant and shared his culture.

My friends and I just returned from Washington D.C. and an extraordinary walking tour of Georgetown with Susan. It was 5 stars plus! Susan was interested in tailoring the tour to our needs and preferences and we couldn't have asked for a better itinerary or guide. She had done deep research on the homes we saw and the stories associated with current and former inhabitants. It was fun and educational, all while getting good exercise. Jenny is the best! We were given Jenny as our tour guide last Tennessee trip. Jeremie spent three terrific days with me, customizing my tours to fit my interests. Road to Hana tour: Demian was a pleasure to work with. All communications were excellent. He arrived promptly and picked up our group of 5 at 2 different hotels. The ferry ride to La Maddelana was fun and the waters spectacular.

We had the best time with Vitor on our tour! Vitor is an excellent tour guide who truly loves the island. He has so much knowledge of the history, fauna and local hidden gems. He took us out on a four wheeling adventure on that we will never forget! Our kids loved riding in the open jeep and seeing the beautiful island from that viewpoint. The stops to have Poncha, snacks and a Prego were spot on and did not want the day to end. I would highly recommend spending time Vitor on any tour in Madeira!

Azime is marvelous! Her guided tour of Ephesus was the highlight of our cruise. Our cruise line was a mess. On arrival in Kusadasi they delayed letting us disembark causing us to be off the ship later than they advertised. But Azime patiently waited for us & maximized what time we had left. Dario was our amazing English-speaking guide for Hiroshima and Miyajima. Dario shared his deep knowledge and unique experience as an Italian living in Japan, able to explain not only the facts and highlights of Hiroshima but also important takeaways from the Japanese perspective. Dario also found us the best cherry blossom viewing areas, took us to a local spot for okonomiyaki and oysters and even shared a bit about his lovely Japanese family. Wow, what a trip. Sherif was amazing. Was really interested in what we wanted to see and went above and beyond trying to accommodate everything. Rajan is a great guide - very experienced, knowledgeable, intelligent and flexible - Rajan knows everything and can answer historical questions. We had the best two hour tour with Veronica this past Saturday. We only had a few hours in Milan and wanted to make sure our kids got all the highlights - with great historical information, and that is exactly what we got with Veronica. Great tour. Andrej picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Chichen Itza and gave us an insightful and complete tour of the site. Often a guide is like a tablespoon of peanut butter. Their knowledge is spread thinly over many topics. No so here. Andrej's knowledge of the Mayan culture was deep and rich. He did not overwhelm us with his knowledge but gave us as much as we could consume.

Absolutely EXCELLENT tour with Diego and Erick (the driver). Diego is extremely knowledgeable about not only Mayan history, but about the whole region and the other empires as well. He is able to take that knowledge and transfer it to us who are only getting a limited exposure and helped us get the "big picture" so our tour was meaningful. Everything about our day was great. We will definitely do another tour with this great team! Do not hesitate, book Diego and Erick for your visit Yucatan.

Tomasz was great! He arrived on time to pick us up and had lots of interesting info on the way to and from our Salt Mine Tour. We had another tour booked right after this one and he was able to sweet talk them into letting us go on the tour early. Wish we'd had time to do the food tour with him. He was very conscientious about all the details.

We had a great walking tour with Brenda. Communication with her was excellent both before the tour and on the day itself. She was very knowledgeable about the local area and history and answered all of our questions. We appreciated the "secret" places she found for coffee and sampling local cuisine. Overall a great experience.

Our tour started with a delicious lunch of biryani and local fish. We visited cultural landmarks, places of workshop, museums and handmade paper factory. Our tour ended with a relaxing walk along Rock Beach promenade, & a visit to the Craft Bazaar. On the journey back Mani took us to snack on what was, seriously, the best samosa, finishing off with Indian coffee and tea. Mani's incredible knowledge of Puducherry's political, cultural and culinary history was outstanding. Well worth it. Thanks Mani!

My wife and I had a great time with Ling on our tour. We started discussing options with her 10 days before ended up doing a one day tour where we went to Mae Klong Railway Market, Damnoen Saduak Market, Coconut Sugar Plantation, and Wat Pho (Relaxing Buddha). Ling provided a lot of great information at each location and even adjusted the tour as we went based on our requests! She picked us up promptly at our hotel and answered all my questions throughout the day. Highly recommend!

Andrew was friendly, personable and knowledgeable. We saw a little bit of Johannesburg's art, culture and history in the one day we had. We very much appreciated his perspectives and insights. The Mandela and apartheid museums and exhibits, as well as were stunning and uplifting. The art was more than impressive. We highly recommend Andrew.

Our group of 5 had an excellent day with Ricardo in the Duoro Valley. He is so knowledgable about the wine and the region the travel time to the valley was a lesson on Portugal. Time was spent with a wine expert learning about the various grapes, wines and port...lots of sampling and snacks too!! Lunch was included, local specialties in a local pub. Ricardo has a great sense of humour, is very hospitable. This extended beyond the tour - keeping in touch with us while in Porto with recommendations.

Superb guide who went above and beyond with welcoming gift of new coins and old cards. Knowing my wife had a back issue, he went out of the way to ensure her comfort and safety .Extremely knowledgeable and made this one of the most interesting tours we have been on. The highlights were obviously the views from the top but also St Michael's Cave which should not be missed.

My dad and I had a wonderful time with Evelyne in Zurich. She customized our tour based upon our preferences, delightfully showed us around the beautiful city and suburbs, and greatly exceeded our expectations with amazing experiences. John was a great guide who showed us the most interesting places in St Lucia. A careful and safe driver in a clean, comfortable people carrier. John gaves us an insight into life in St Lucia and was easy to get along with. Recommend him for a private tour.

If I could rate my tour above a 5, I would! FANTASTIC!! Ryan was wonderful. He knows the area very well, including its history, myths (Sleeping Lady) and the best scenic views. Keep in mind this was off season and it was an incredible time (Beluga Point, Potters Marsh, Earthquake Park, and much more). I would highly recommend Ryan. Again, knowledgeable, friendly and I guarantee you'll have a great time!
