  What an amazing guide Fiamma is. Before arriving she made certain to Include everything we had hoped to see and do on our two days. When we arrived she was prompt and very well prepared. We had just gotten off the plane but her schedule was perfect. She had arranged all our exhibit entrances so the days flowed perfectly. Her knowledge of art and history was endless. I feel like I know Milan after spending two days with her. Thank you again Fiamma

  Our tour was amazing! Diego was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, and very patient with our many questions. His van came stocked with snacks, cold waters, sodas, and an air conditioner. His recommendations during Valladolid were great and the cenote visit was breathtaking. Highly recommend Diego for your tour guide needs!!!

  We had the opportunity to have Aaron as our guide on both of our tours. The first tour was San Miguel de Allende & Canada de la Virgen archaeological site and the second tour was a wine and cheese tour and walking tour of Queretero. Aaron was amazing and so classy. I really enjoyed his vast knowledge of the history of each site and his deep love for his country. He was also very accommodating with our schedule and tailored it to fit our needs. It was 2 great days, Thanks Aaron hope to meet again!

  I had a tour of Bordeaux this morning with Hubert. He was excellent and covered the topics I was most interested in. He was not only informative about Bordeaux's history, but was able to talk about the city's recent renaissance from his local perspective. It was a truly excellent experience and I'm retired from the tour business! FIVE STARS!

  Mimi was a wonderful tour guide & we were not disappointed with the 1/2 Day Chicago Highlights by Car tour. She was prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable and her pride in her hometown was evident. As we were only spending 1 day in Chicago, this was the perfect way to get a feel for the culture & beauty of this wonderful city. She also offered advice on how to fill the rest of our day, which was extremely helpful. If we have the chance to return to Chicago, we will definitely book another tour with Mimi

  We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Savannah with Bethany. She was extremely knowledgeable about the city and it's history. And she took extra steps to accommodate accessibility for my cousin and I, as we both travel with walkers. Thank you Bethany for sharing so many amazing stories about Savannah's rich history, culture and diverse heritage.   I would highly recommend Giovanny.The man is well connected and can talk his way out of any situation. He will go out his way to make sure you are having a good time because he truly loves his job and the country. Giovanny is also highly knowledgable about the area and the culture. He gave me a wonderful first impression and introduction of the beauty and experiences the country has to offer.

  We had a wonderful half day tour with Esther. We saw all parts of the island in a comfortable, air conditioned car, and learned so much about the history of Aruba, as well as current day Aruba. Esther is extremely knowledgeable and personable. We would hire her again any time we were in Aruba.

  We took the private tour to Camenito del Rey with David. I only can say positive things about David and the whole tour. After our pick-up we first went to Antequiera, which is a beautiful city. After that we went on to the Camenito del Rey and David showed us some beautiful Scenic spots on the way there. The bus was band new and very nice. David was a wonderful tour guide, full of knowledge and very flexible to cater to the needs of our group.

  If you had 10 rating, Jaap would get them all. We had an amazing one day tour of Leeuwarden, Dokkum, and other places where my ancestors lived, worked and died. I now have places connected to the history that I only knew from family stories and now I can pass on more family stories to my children and grandchildren. Thank you Jaap for the most wonderful tour. Jaap's memory and command of language is truly amazing and his love of his native land is obvious and contagious- we love Friesland too!

  David is an absolutely fantastic guide. Myself & 4 others did the Condor watching tour & were very satisfied with our experience. David is so kind, accommodating & knowledgeable, and his ability to speak/understand english is perfect. He was quick at responding to my many emails the weeks leading up to the tour, and did an excellent job of helping our group of 5 plan aspects of the tour. I would highly recommend David & if I were to return to Ecuador I would definitely seek him out for another tour.

  Johan was amazing. Though the process from the first contact after booking the tour to saying good bye at the end of the tour, we felt comfortable. safe and excited to be in the presence of someone who is accommodating and flexible to the changes of our tour date and the time frame change of the tour, knowledgeable of the logistical needs and challenges of travel to and from Roatan and accommodations while there as well as the history and fun facts about the island.   I would recommend a tour with Chris. He picked us up from the place where we were staying and followed through on his description of the tour. Most of all I enjoyed talking to Chris. He can talk about almost every subject, from the history of Raleigh to interesting parts of Raleigh that I would not have discovered on my own or were in guide books. He even drove by Shelley Lake Park when we asked about a place for walking. We went there the next day and enjoyed our walk. Thanks Chris.

  I went on this tour with my 13-year old son and his friend, and we all LOVED JAKE! He was such an engaging story teller, and a wonderful history teacher! He is good-natured with a polite, warm and personal style. We were well cared for all day long, Jake's tour van was in perfect condition and very comfortable. He had a headset microphone so we could hear him clearly while touring in the van. He was a lovely host and i highly recommend his guide services!

  I highly recommend the 86 Bus to Penny Lane. Neil L, my incredible tour guide, made the day a total joy from beginning to end. A lot of walking, but leisurely, and we saw everything! Because we were on foot, we could stop, take pictures, tell stories and thoroughly enjoy each phase of the tour. True Beatles fans, this is the tour for you!

  Ellen is a fabulous guide with tons of local knowledge and a patient and engaging style. We had a wonderful day learning about Hilo, the surrounding communities as well as the volcanoes. If you are in the area and are looking for a guide who can provide you with an excellent tour and a solid understanding of the must see spots Ellen should be top on your list.

  Cesar was a fantastic tour guide! He arrived exactly on time at our hotel, and was able to help us have the best tourism day of our vacation, despite us not initially knowing what we wanted to do. We started at the Tulum Ruins, then took a nice air conditioned drive through the hotel zone, stopped for tacos, and finished with a swim in a cenote. Cesar was professional yet casual, and it felt like we were all hanging out as a group of friends. Muchas gracias Cesar!

  I can not say enough good things about Keshler. He was professional and extremely informative. Our boys 10 and 12 years old still talk about the things they learned on the tour. You can't go wrong with choosing this tour. He was awesome for our 1st time to Philadelphia!

  We spent all day with Josh and wouldn't change a thing! We are glad we decided on the full day instead of the 1/2 day tour as well. His knowledge of Cambridge and Boston kept us entertained all day! The historical information shared throughout the day was so interesting that when we returned back home, we continued to learn more about Boston and the American Revolution. It was a busy day spent in the best way! We would highly recommend Josh for future tours.

  Highly, highly, highly recommend this guide! Henry was so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. He was extremely fun and personable, and was accommodating to all of our needs as a private group. We hiked the 27 waterfalls with him, and had the best day! Our group loved having Henry as our guide and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a private guide in the DR.   Igor provided an exceptional tour experience for my family of five, and was great with my kids.   Valdemar is exceptional guide. He is truly passionate about Madeira, and knows beyond what any tourist information will tell you. We expected this to be just a nice wine tasting tour. In the end it was beyond any expectations. Valdemar takes care to provide a diverse experience. Beyond wine tasting he took us to many breathtaking spots on the island in his 4x4, some of which only knowledgeable local like Valdemar can show. We came for wine, but left with one of biggest memories from Madeira.

  What a fabulous day of touring organized by Iker! Tailored exactly to my requests and with hidden, local insights, this was an experience I will never forget. Our day ran overtime and Iker never rushed or made me feel rushed. He also answered my many questions about Basque culture and politics and was a real pleasure to spend the day with.   If there were 10 stars, we'd give them! Our family weekend after so long apart was already special. Our guide Yvonne made something that we will treasure beyond words. Her local knowledge & expertise, her excellent suggestions & friendly yet professional manner made our afternoon in Eastern Kent one packed with special experiences and memories for a lifetime. She listened to our interests, organized things to fit seamlessly into our day, and provided transport that was comfortable and the same high standard as herself.

  Noah was incredible! We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him. Just a genuinely nice guy and also super knowledgeable. Driving between different stopping points he gave us history lessons on the islands. Fun way to pass the time in the car. He was also super flexible on how we wanted to spend the day. We would highly recommend Noah to anyone spending time on Kauai. Thank you Noah...hope to see you again!

  Our trip with James was truly amazing. He had an endless amount of local knowledge and kept my family of 5 (including kids aged 6, 11 and 12) thoroughly entertained during our 2.5 hour drive to the West Rim. The car was stocked full of snacks, water and CANDY, and his cooling towels saved the day on a 115 degree day. Please consider him for day trips as I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

  My time with Olga was terrific. She was flexible about timing and even better about agenda. She is well informed, has a fascinating back story which honestly would make movie material and on top of that she endured with patience and responded informatively to my relentless stream of questions.   We had a full day - Mont Saint Michelle, Cancale, Rothéneuf with Igor. He is absolutely reliable, perfectly prepared, and flexible - went with all our wishes, both pre-arranged on ad-hoc. Great time management on top of that. A professional, obviously enjoys his job, and is a fun person to spend time with. If I'm in that region again I will for sure want to have Igor's help and company for touring/sighseeing. Doesn't get better (and I've travelled a lot). Thanks, Igor, take care!   We enjoyed so much our tour with Tiago! He was very knowledgeable: he explained us not only the "dry" historic facts but also fascinating facts about past and present Cologne, he answered all questions of our business partner regarding - pretty much- everything! I appreciate that he had a big smile on his face, was punctual and always very kind. Our business partner was so excited that he later quized our German friends on things he learned!   Darcy was our awesome 2 day guide in Yellowstone. She knows the area well and is great with people. It was a plus to be able to take in the sights while someone else drove. We saw amazing thermal features, buffalo herds, elk herds, eagles, antelope, wolves, ram, and an osprey nest with 2 babies. The wolves and osprey could not have been seen without her telescope. We were able to get photos by attaching a camera. We visited the Tetons on our own, but she gave us suggestions and tips that were invaluable.

  Dawn provided everything we wished for, and then some. She showed us to new places, providing informative commentary as she competently navigated some difficult driving. The pace for viewing, rest stops and lunch was perfect. In addition to the beautiful vistas, we saw moose, elk, marmot, pika, deer and numerous wildflowers. It was a superb tour and I highly recommend it.

  Wow, what an amazing tour and experience! So much information was shared. It was the perfect length, not rushed but not too slow either.   The BEST tour guide! Roger picked us up in a clean minivan that comfortably accommodated our family of four. The tour exceeded our expectations! Roger's knowledge of history is unmatched; Roger even offered to take our pictures at the various stops. We would have missed out on so much information if we tried to visit the tourist attractions on our own. I highly recommend this tour with Roger!

  Teresita and the driver was Leosandro picked us up right at our hotel lobby and we beat all the crowds in Tulum. We went to a cenote after and my teenage girls had so much fun. I've been on the Tulum group tour in the past and a private guide was so much better and faster. You get to set your own time and not waste time picking up other guests from multiple hotels. We would definitely use Teresita again in the future.

  This was our best day of vacation so far! Ricardo provided a comfortable, relaxing, fun tour with plenty of wine and local foods (delicious)! We also enjoyed a brisk swim in the river. Beautiful sights, great company. Book now! You won't regret it!

  On the first day of our tour, Kakha told me his goal on a tour is to help the customer fall in love with his country and he succeeded in reaching this goal on our tour. His attention to detail made a great trip better He ensured there was water and snacks in the car, provided music but made sure it was to my taste and was a great conversationalist. Kakha had a very clean car and was a conscientious driver. The strongest recommendation I can make is to say I would use him again without hesitation!

  We had a really great tour around York with Chris. The weather was damp, but we still managed to have a great day. He definitely went the extra mile, his enthusiasm was infectious, and we lost track of time. Chris is extremely knowledgeable and any question we threw at him he was able to answer. Thanks once again Chris, it was the highlight of our trip to York. We would definitely recommend Chris and this tour without reservation.

  Martin was so knowledgeable, friendly and interesting. Even my teenage daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. We had grandparents on the tour who couldn't do much walking so this driving tour was perfect. We were able to get out and take pictures and do short walks when we wanted. Martin is flexible, easy going, and had restaurants to recommend for dinner after the tour. We loved his knowledge of the area and history. His car was very comfortable for the 5 of us. Thank you Martin! Fun day!

  My husband and I had a wonderful day tour of Quito and Middle of the Earth last week. Juan Pablo, our guide, picked us up at our hotel in his comfortable car. He was knowledgeable, considerate, and efficient. He suggested an excellent restaurant for lunch which has an amazing view of old Quito. I highly recommend Juan Pablo and his day tour.

  We've taken walking tours in many major cities and Mimi is by far the best guide. A Chicago native, Mimi shared the back story of the places and people that built and shaped the city. Tiffany ceilings, artifacts from around the world, a farmer's market, parks and Picassos were among the highlights. Mimi was personable and enthusiastic and gave us an insider's tips on how to enjoy the rest of our trip.

  Mary was an excellent guide who was super friendly and flexible to the needs of our party of 6 adults and a wee dug ! Her assistant, Mac, was great to listen to and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. Mary organised lunch at The Orkney Brewery and went out of her way to support the elderly in-laws.   Josh was a fantastic guide. His knowledge of history of Boston was amazing. He was engaging and did a great job with my older teens and keeping them interested and engaged. He did a great job of working with 100 degree weather. We were very pleased with our tour of the Boston Library and we especially liked the walking paths!   Clarence was the best! His knowledge, humor, personalization, flexibility and caring personality are unrivaled. We were celebrating my brother and sister-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary and this tour was part of a day of surprises. Even with tornado warnings, Clarence continued on safely. He had us laughing the whole tour and even demonstrated all the different "Chicago" accents. He even managed to get us to the restaurant where a surprise party was waiting at exactly the right time.

  Stephen was fantastic! My son is a big history fan and loved all of Stephen's fact about the places we visited. He challenged him with questions and led an "AWESOME" tour according to my son.   contacted Vivann many times. She always responded to all my emails. She organized a trip for four people. She picked us up at our hotel. First we went to Cotopaxi. We could not see the top of the volcano, so she had the driver continue going up until we saw the top. Next we went to Quilotoa. We hiked halfway down. She took us to an excellent restaurant for lunch. On the way back to Quito, we made 3 stops at places she thought we would like; a gorge, native house, famous painter. Excellent guide.

  My wife and I traveled to Sarasota, FL to consider the city as our retirement home. We were interested in learning about the culture, points of interest, activities, and different neighborhoods.   The action packed day we spent with Noah was absolutely fabulous! I loved that he was flexible throughout the day and truly customized the tour to cater to our interests. Many tour guides just go through the motions and have a set script to follow, not Noah. We hiked, went to a cave, saw many scenic overlooks and had a great lunch. His stories about the history of Kauai were intriguing. You can tell Noah loves the island and shares that love with his tour groups. Mahalo Noah!

  Amazing 5 star private tour of Chichen itza and Oxman cenote today with our wonderful tour guide, Saul. Saul is so knowledgeable about the Mayan culture and history and so friendly.   Wow, what an amazing tour with and amazing guide w/ Will. I was a bit skeptical of all the high praise/ reviews but it was above and beyond what I could have imagined. Will communicated with us leading up to the trip, was punctual with the pick up and was such a wealth of knowledge during the tour. I can't imagine trying to do everything in one day on our own. Will knows all the best places to see and when to go to them to avoid crowds. This was the highlight of our stay in Arizona thank you so much Will!

  We happened to have a half a day lay-over in Panama city. Wow, did we get lucky with our guide. If not for our guide, customs would not even let us out. Punctual pick-up & super accomodating. Our guide was full of knowledge, he gave us a fetailed explanation of how the canal works that was super interesting for our 12 and 14 year olds, deep knowledge of history, nature and fauna. Amazing experience!!! Can't wait to come back.

  Phenomenal tour of Pittsburgh! Superseded all our expectations. George's knowledge of Pittsburgh is quite extensive. He LOVES his city and shares many unique facts that you'd never know otherwise. The family stories George shares of his father and grandfather add a personal level of insight you won't get anywhere else.   Clarence is a wonderful tour guide. He is very pleasant, very knowledgeable about Chicago and very accommodating to specific requests during the tour. We enjoyed our three hour tour with Clarence. My wife and I would not hesitate to use Clarence again. My only slightly negative comment is directed toward Tours by Locals and not Clarence.   Way beyond expectations. Rem got right down to business asking what we wanted to see, and then knew immediately where to take us. He had local level experience with all the neighborhoods we saw. It didn't hurt that he is also a professional tour guide in Europe, so you get a real pro. He's not a realtor, and didn't try to sell or promote anything. He immediately started dropping knowledge, without prying with annoying questions. Really good stuff.

  Mora and her driver, Dandy, were amazing! We spent three days with them exploring a variety of locations. Mora was knowledgeable about everything St. Lucia, from plants, people, villages, history and more. She took time to answer questions, examined things, and even took photos. Mora and Dandy were both very personable, and we felt safe with Dandy behind the wheel. Mora was very prompt in her communication. These three days were the highlight of our trip, and we would highly recommend them!

  Me and my family took a private tour of the Everglades with Armin P. He was very knowledgeable about all, but especially about birds and the Indian tribes. We saw all sorts of birds, including a couple of rare ones. We made a number of interesting and informative stops along the route, and Armin was able to give us great information about all of them. We had three teenagers with us, and no one was unhappy, which is quite a testament to Armin's capabilities. We give him 5 stars.

  Danielle was a fantastic guide. Due to concerns that we would not be able to get a train back from Ghent, we wound up going to Antwerp instead. I simply loved Antwerp. Danielle was so knowledgeable and fun. She adjusted the tour to my interests which was pretty much to experience as much as possible.   I used Will Burkhart from ToursByLocals for a long, difficult hike I wanted to do in Grand Canyon. Will is super strong, knowledgeable, dependable, conscientious and organized, everything you would want in a guide and more!!! Will led me on a grueling 24 mi, 4000'+ gain, 14 hr, day hike on the Hermit/Tonto/Boucher trails in GC. While I was totally exhausted at the end, Will looked like he was just getting warmed up! Will did an exceptional job planning the hike, route finding on difficult trails, keeping us on schedule, etc. We are already starting to plan our next adventure! TBL made it easy for me to find the right guide for my hike with good profiles of guides, that can include a video introduction by the guide, as well as the trips they lead, their experience and qualifications. I also like "Any Reason" Cancellation! I would definitely use TBL again to find a guide in the future. Keep up the great work, TBL!
