  Cyndi was a fantastic guide for our trip to the BlackHills to see Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer Park. We had originally planned the trip for the day earlier but we were stuck in Wyoming when a massive snow storm hit the area. Cyndi was very flexible and offered to move the tour as needed to accommodate the weather problems. As far as the tour, she was right on time to pick us up and was extremely knowledgeable about the history and area - as she grew up in Keystone. A++ highly recommended!

  Outstanding service! I highly recommend Rob & Jodi. They picked us up in a 10 passenger van that was comfortable and accessible for two of our group who have slight mobility issues. They were both very personable and quickly picked up on the vibe of our group and immediately felt like old friends instead of hired tour guides. They are exceptional at their craft! Booking was easy and personnel were responsive. Rob and Jodi kept our group entertained and informed all day long. They easily shared a lot of history and information. More importantly, they kept our group moving and on time. My husband and I have been to the Islands over 10 times but this was our first visit to the Big Island and the first visit to the Islands for the rest of the group. I can honestly say this was one of the best chartered tours I’ve ever gone on. Well Done!

  Travelling with Romain virtually is a great alternative to being there in person! The tour of La Rochelle introduced us to the importance of this amazing city, and the legacy that is still felt around the world to this day. The historic district itself is gorgeous, and we all now wait eagerly to the day when we can explore ourselves. Romain himself was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and made it very accessible and inviting, despite the screens between us. Take this tour, you won't regret it!

  Rudy and Santiago were not only perfect guides; they were also perfect hosts, welcoming us to their beautiful city like we were old friends. Their warm and caring personalities were evident in everything they did and said. They ensured we saw all the best things at the best times. As a father traveling with a teen daughter, safety was my highest concern--and, with Rudy and Santiago as our escorts, there was never a moment either of us felt we were in danger. I would highly recommend Rudy for any tour.

  My family joined a live virtual tour of San Sebastian with Iker B. We were all in different places logging in on different computers. I appreciated Iker opening the room early to greet us. We began on time and ended on time. The hour swept us away to this beautiful and enchanting place. Iker explained the history, the highlights and the cuisine in a captivating way with perfect pictures for each. Iker periodically answered questions making sure we were following along. It was wonderful!

  Jodi was very informative. Her enthusiasm is infectious and delightful. She has extensive knowledge of the geology, the plant and bird life, and the history of the area. She is a great story teller. We were engrossed by her accounts of the people of Hawai. She and her husband live in the area. They constantly educate themselves from other scientists and educators, their own research, and by hiking and observing this special area.

  William was an exceptional guide. Our group of 4 enjoyed the benefits if his outstanding local knowledge. The car was clean & comfortable.   My wife Georgia and I took a tour of Charleston, SC on January 21. Our guide, Ms. Martha, was exceptional. To be more accurate in our rating, you will need to add a sixth star. Ms. Martha demonstrated deep knowledge of Charleston history, culture, and customs and, a decided bonus for any of us being guided, she has a genuine enthusiasm and love for her city.   Saul helped make our Cancun trip special by going the extra mile every chance he had. We did a food & market tour, snorkeling, & visited a cenote. He provided an all-in experience by including costs at the food market, provided snorkeling gear, knew all the right contacts to find the best cenote, knew where to find good tequila, & knew the right people to find the exact souvenirs we were looking for. He was helpful and even helped us book transportation from the airport. Long story short, Call Saul!

  The tour is a perfect introduction to the highlights of North Sumatra. Lian the guide speaks impeccable English, drives safely, he is a mine of information about history geography and spirituality, he is always in a good mood and was an ideal travel companion. If you are a coffee lover, Lian knows the best coffee shops all along the road. Sitting with him and his friends over coffee was a bonus to this wonderful tour. I highly recommend Lian.

  Peaches went beyond my expectations with her tour. Not only did she do an amazing job with the camera and the actual tour, but she is beyond educated and well spoken. There was not one moment of the tour that we felt bored. She truly is an INCREDIBLE tour guide and I highly recommend her. We will definitely be touring with Peaches again!

  Teresita and our driver Marlon were the sweetest people we could have asked to have as our guides. They're very knowledgeable about the history, Mayan culture, language & ecological systems of Tulum and Mexico. Very accommodating, personable, & just genuine people. Our Airbnb was in a very hard place to drive to. Not only did they pick us up & drop us off, but they drove us back in the middle because I forgot to bring my Polaroid film. Our new friends we'll remember forever. ¡Qué buena onda!

  Wonderful experience at the beautiful sites & it was all thanks to our tour guide, Tita! She was such a sweetheart and has such great knowledge of the history/of the area! We learned a lot of interesting facts while taking gorgeous pictures of the Mayan ruins & cenotes. The open cenote was refreshing & beautiful. It was so cool to see the caves openings underneath with our snorkeling masks. It was not crowded which was perfect. Definitely go on this tour with Tita - you'll love it & love her!

  Teresita was amazing! She was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and an excellent guide. We absolutely loved everything about our day with Teresita. She took her time allowing my husband to take as many photos as he wanted and also allowing my 72 year old father to walk at his own pace. I will book her for future tours as well.   Fun and unique experience. Our family ordered Thai food for dinner, then joined Peaches' virtual tour of a Thai market. Peaches was friendly and knowledgeable - providing a good virtual tour of the market, answering our questions and sharing interesting information about Thai people, culture and activities. Thank you, Peaches, for the great experience. I'd recommend this to others looking for something different to do from the safety of their homes.

  My 2nd tour with Muluken via Tours by Locals, 2.5 years apart, and great again. He is very professional, friendly & knowledgeable. We started the tour late because I was delayed at the customs office trying to retrieve a package. He waited for us for more than 1 hour without complaining and arrived with a smile on his face when we were ready. He provided the same great tour as if we had started on time. He's a great tour guide.

  We loved the tour! Sayuri knew the local people and its charm, and struggles. She has so much love and enthusiasm for the region and the people. We got a glimpse of what it is like to be a local, which is very different from being a tourist. We look forward to doing another tour with Sayuri.

  It was a very informative and interesting tour. Andrew knows history of Savannah and Georgia as well as wikipedia. We learned a lot from him. He is very patient and explained us the same things again and again until we finally got the story. Savannah is a charming place and Andrew did his best to show us the beauty of it. There were some details about monuments and customs of the city which I would not be able to read in any guide book. Thanks so much!! I highly recommend this tour.

  We had a wonderful time on our tour and would not only recommend the tour itself but Teresita as well. We took the tour with our twin 3.5 year old's and she was patient, knowledgeable, and let us go at our own pace. She even allowed us to stop for some beer to bring back to our hotel. She took pictures of us throughout the tour, so we were able to enjoy sightseeing. She then sent all the pictures to us. When we go back to the area we will be booking another tour with her, I can't recommend her enough.

  Cameron is an excellent tour guide, as he is exceptionally friendly as he is informative. He made this tour both interesting and enjoyable. The sunset at the Snowbowl was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Learning about the history of space exploration was enlightening, as was our visits to the various telescopes based in this area. We also enjoyed the drive through downtown Flagstaff. We all felt very comfortable with Cameron as our guide and will ask for him the next time we are in town. Thanks again

  My prime goal for visiting Guadalarajara was to learn about how the city came to existence, understand the culture; and have an understanding as to why the landmarks were important to it's people. Lino met all of my expectations! Not only is he personable but flexible to not only your needs but which topics we covered. I highly recommend choosing him when you visit the city.

  Tihana was a marvelous guide, she surpassed our expectations and went beyond her responsibilities to help us plan the rest of our trip in Croatia.   Ahmed was excellent. He has been guiding for over 20 years, so will take you to the best sites, avoid crowd etc. He keeps your safety a priority. He coordinated all the details of our trip so we could relax and know everything was taken care of. He and the drivers were always on time. We like to go "off the beaten path" and he helped us see the parts of Egypt that most tourist don't see. We traveled during Covid 19 in Oct 2020, and had no problems. Thanks Ahmed for a wonderful trip

  We had scheduled a tour with Fernando the day after a major tropical storm and 2 days before a hurricane. We thought our week was ruined, until Fernando offered different options in order to provide a great day. He was more than flexible and was a big help to some of our group that were nervous. I highly recommend Fernando, he provided a fun memorable experience in the midst of horrible weather, Amazing!

  Patricia was amazing, she arrived with a stack of maps and brochures for us, gave us loads of suggestions of things to do and visit over the weekend and really tailored the tour for us. We got a really good perspective of the town with tips from everything from restaurants to local Luganese life... Patrica could not have been more helpful and kind. Top rating, highly recommended!   Very good organized and prepared guide. Managed very well a 3 day, all inclusive and tailored tour for Belgian notaries in a very short time. Was always reachable and had practical solutions for last minute changes due to external factors. Is certainly motivated and committed. All participants fully enjoyed the well thought-out program and despite the terrible weather they experienced an exiting tour.

  A long weekend in Bari with 2 friends. We took a trip to Alberobello with Giorgio and very much enjoyed it. Giorgio is full of interesting information about the area and will tell you as much or as little as you want to know. He was great fun to have as a guide and obviously loves his region. Yes you could visit Alberobello by train or bus and look at the Trulli houses but you would miss so much that was interesting. Having a local guide was well worth the extra cost. Highly recommend.

  Jessica did a fantastic job showing us the Gamla Stan area of Stockholm. She provided history of the area and of the royal family, and answered any questions we had along the walking tour. We had a great time on our 1 hour trip to Stockholm - it was almost like we were actually there is person!

  Silvia is an excellent host with a wonderful knowledge of the area and its history. She is an excellent historian and tells the stories in a light-hearted manner. She also takes you to the many places of interest you might not otherwise be aware of with lots of personal recommendations. And she is a lovely, warm and genuine person. Highly recommended.

  In a nutshell, Aaron is a phenomenal tour guide. He's empathetic, accommodating, funny, and full of knowledge about the area. You can tell he clearly loves what he does. I traveled with my teenage daughter and we felt very safe and secure. Aaron has the uncanny knack of being able to anticipate any need that might arise.   Aaron was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable, personable, courteous and caring. Over a twelve hour tour he took adequate time to ensure that we saw all the known sites of interest plus a few he had discovered for himself. He also provided a nice picnic lunch and refreshments through the day. We would have no hesitation in recommending Aaron as one of the bet guides we have had in many years of traveling to different places around the world. He went above and beyond our expectations.

  We had a really great tour with John! We were a family with 2 teens/tweens and we visited Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial. He was amazing at customizing the trip to our interests and time requirements, and we were so impressed with his knowledge of history and geology. We learned so much. He was super friendly and helpful in our trip planning and even suggested a doggie daycare for our dogs while we were on the tour with him. We highly recommend him as a tour guide for the area.

  I am so pleased I booked Bethany for our tour of Savanah. It was a great decision. To say Bethany is a wealth of knowledge is an understatement. We learn the history of beautiful Savanah and enjoyed seeing mansions, churches, temple, parks and so much more. I give this tour 5 stars and highly recommend.

  Dario is excellent. He spent so much time showing us around Hiroshima and educating us on the history. What was the best was how relaxed he was and also how attentive he was to our needs. He was able to take us to a great lunch place (where he joined and helped us order) as well as show me the best coffee I've had in Japan yet!   Aaron did a fabulous job of individualizing our tour experience. He made it fun for all family members. He knew our names within 5 minutes of meeting us and was always good about listening to and responding to our questions. He knew the ins and outs of the national parks we visited, helping us capture beautiful pics of nature and our family throughout our two days together. He was very respectful of COVID-19 precautions and even had a hand washing station in the back of his van with warm water!

  We had Nic for our guide and we couldn't ask for a better guide. He is sweet, caring and very helpful. He made a great effort to include all the spots we wanted to see and showed us other wonderful spots he thought we would love. He found the best way to accommodate all of us and never lost his smile. He even took care of my brother and sent us off to enjoy the spots. He also took amazing photos of us enjoying the beauty of incredible Western Australia. We are very lucky to have had Nic as our guide! Thank you so much Nic!

  Had a very nice tour with Rudi. He is a tour guide that has been working in the area for decades and is knowledgeable on everything in his city. We walked around and saw all the main sites and he had good stories for each one, and a nice binder full of pictures and other info. He even brought a bottle of water which was nice.

  A++ When traveling to Roatan, Steve is your GO TO guide! We have used Tours by Locals for three different cruises now, and have NEVER been disappointed. Communication from Steve from the beginning was excellent. Steve greeted us at the pier, introduced us to his son, who was home from college in the states, and he was awesome. Took us so many places! We saw the entire island. We had options of what we wanted to explore, and he was very knowledgable. We went snorkeling! BEST TOUR EVER!!! Book IT!!

  We had a great tour with Soledad. She was very knowledgeable about the city and region, she took us to places that the big tour buses couldn't go, and she accommodated our requests for side trips -- for example, to shop for something special.   Diane was GREAT ! Her vehicle was quite comfortable, in good condition, had big windows for viewing and was very clean. She is very knowledgeable. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, she will search out someone at the site, to answer your question. She knows the history of the places visited . She is in great physical shape so we covered a lot of area. She also knows a good restaurant. She gave us more than a full day. I will definitely use her again and let my friends know about her.

  Roberto did much more than take me on a tour of the Ruta de Los Flores. He spoke knowledgeably about Salvadoran culture, history society, and politics. He was personable, flexible, and a great communicator before, during, and after and tour. I highly recommend him for anyone who is going to Central America and wants a knowledgeable guide, advice on where to go and what to do, and a very engaging experience.

  Iggy was fantastic! We were here during the Coronavirus pandemic, and although several sites we wanted to see were closed, Iggy managed to give us an in-depth and interesting tour of Cape Town. We learned about the history of the area, and got his unique perspective of it, as he is a local. And we got a great restaurant recommendation to boot!   Our first Tours By Locals. It was with David B. in Saint Martin. What an awesome experience with David! He drove us around the area, places that a tour bus could not get to - small outlooks, narrow streets, etc. He brought pictures to illustrate his narrative. At one point we went to a museum at which he and his wife do volunteer work. We stopped there for some of David's delicious banana bread and iced tea. The view from that outlook was fantastic. Worth every penny we paid! Book him!!

  Brenda was AMAZING! I highly, highly recommend her! We only had a short time in port but she was able to get us around the see everything we wanted to. She even went in the water with us as a snorkel guide to point out different fish and marine life. We could not be happier with the excellent service Brenda provided! If I ever get back to Bonaire, Brenda is the first person I am going to get in touch with! Thanks again Brenda you were great!

  Pauline was an excellent guide that did everything possible to make our day at Cartagena perfect! We saw the pink sea and then she took us to a place to see the a mud bath that was more private than the one you see advertised. It was located on top of a small cliff that gave us a wonderful view of the Sea and the countryside. Afterwards we returned to Cartagena and some shops. There were six of us and all of us agreed that she did a great job and we highly recommend Pauline!!!

  Carlos customized a tour according to our interests and gave us detailed and fascinating histories of the Miami neighborhoods we were curious about. It was a good mix of drive-by touring and walkabouts. He's smart, educated and charming. Beautiful, comfortable car. Picked us up on time and got us to our lunch date on time. Perfectly orchestrated and very behind-the-scenes, non-touristy experience of real Miami life lived by locals. Totally recommend him.

  We had a fantastic time with Jay! She was incredibly friendly and helpful - and took some great photos for us! We were able to explore all of the areas on our wishlist and more due to Jay's expert guiding!   Five Star Experience! - My partner and I booked the Private Chichen Itza full day tour with Diego. It was everything we could have hoped for! Diego is very professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. Also, his Mercedes Sprinter van is new and sparkling clean.   We can only highly highly recommend Etai. He is by far the best guide we ever had on our different trips (...we travel a lot) . Etai's knowledge of Jerusalems's history, culture and religions is very impressive. He shares all with enthusiasm & care, able to answer every question we had with deep knowledge. Even our 14yr son didn't miss his X-box and enjoyed every second of the 6hrs tour what had been an absolute highlight . We definitely will contact Etai again for our next Jerusalem visit.

  We had a great time on this tour In Siem Reap! We only had 3 days and we were able to see everything. Rain Proun, our guide, picked us up at the airport and off we went on our adventure. He had a standard tour, but allowed us to customize it, so that we could get up into the mountains for a change of pace. Our driver was excellent, and the car was comfortable. Rain even picked us up at our hotel and took us to the airport early on our last day. I highly recommend Rain and Tours by Locals!

  My tour with Felicia was the perfect way to round off 4 weeks in Canada! She customised an amazing layover tour which incorporated my requests, and also included many different locations and hidden gems. Her tour was very well balanced, with lots of walking to discover the neighbourhoods of Toronto but interspersed with regular breaks to shelter from the -10c chill and taste some amazing local food and drink. It was brilliant! Plus she ensured I got back to the airport in plenty of time. Thank you!

  It was a wonderful tour through South Mumbai for my family and I. He met us at hotel w/ a driver ready to go. We discussed the tour and any specific things we wanted to cover then he enthusiastically led us through a bunch of different sights. Glen was helpful with bartering and seemed to enjoy shopping with the kids. He was very engaging and informative, showing us places we certainly wouldn't have on our own.   Alessandro provides us with wonderful introduction to Genova! We discovered the hidden beauty, history and culture of this Italian gem through the eyes of a rightfully proud local.   Victor skillfully presented facts & personal remembrances in an interesting, balanced way - especially the struggles endured & sacrifices made by those who originally settled/guided Barbados' path. He literally "gave a voice" to buildings, burial sites & statues that had stood in silence for centuries. He thoughtfully paced the morning & guided us to protected areas when showers threatened.   Stephen gave us a wonderful customized tour of Nha Trang for our group of 5. Despite us being 2hrs late (due to cruise ship tendering delays), Stephen was able to rearrange our itinerary to maximize our available time while not feeling rushed at any point. Aside from the wonderful local sights, we also enjoyed a relaxed Pho lunch and an afternoon coffee from a lovely rooftop coffee shop. The vehicle was comfortable and the driver was good too. We would recommend Stephen for your tour of Nha Trang.

Highly recommend George for any visit to Zion, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Route 66. His in depth knowledge of the geographic area and personal experience at every location allowed him to create an itinerary for us that avoided crowds and truly personalized our tour.   Elton was an excellent tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and articulate on the history of Willemstad. He went out of his way to pick us up at Santa Barbara Resort and was flexible in making changes to the tour on our request. The 2 1/2 hour walking tour is perfect for getting an in depth review of Willemstad and just the right length for those over 65. Highly recommended as a tour guide!

  I'm overdue posting a review for Inma! Inma was amazing. Everything from setting up the guided tour to the tour itself was more perfect than I could've planned out in my own imagination. She was knowledgeable, flexible, genuine and so kind. I have issues with one of my knees so walking around is difficult sometimes, she was accommodating and had suggestions of how to go about the tour, which was perfect. We took a local cab most of the time and then walked some. A++ ty Inma for beautiful memories!!

  France A. is the guide with whom to see the Seychelles. He is totally knowledgeable on all subjects. He has a warm and friendly outlook. Totally flexible in customizing to meet one's specific interest. He is punctual and very experienced at scheduling and arranging the itinerary in advance. He is happy to provide for any special needs. You never feel rushed. His vehicle is big and comfortable. One of our very best guides ever and we have had many.
