  the 40 dollar 1/8th inch die I bought does NOT work with the 1/8 in fittings / deck plates/ cables that I bought the die to work with....... Ive done hundreds of 3/16ths cables and end kits with the same crimper and never had a problem. Im having to flat crimp by turning the die backwards... Not professional looking and not stoked..

  I was just doing a cable swap on a customers decks and one of the ends was missing so I had to order one from SC&R. The shopping experience was excellent and the shipping was quick. The part was very expensive although I realize it is stainless steel.

  We are happy with the quality of our order. It was packed well and arrived quickly in great condition. Installation was challenging as it was installed on a curved and slightly elevated sidewalk. Had to cut the post-to-post brackets and handrails at multiple angles…very challenging! We weren’t informed that we might need different brackets when we placed our order. Also, it’s annoying that the weep holes weren’t done at the factory. But we are pleased with the end result.

  Although my order took about 2 months to be processed, fabricated and shipped out, everything arrived perfectly packaged and complete down to the last nut. The only issue was that the company had recently changed suppliers for their terminal post stock and the walls of the new tubes were considerably thicker, so that none of the post caps and other parts fit into the posts. The size differential was too large for filing or grinding so I had to send back all the original terminal fixtures for reworking. When the 10 parts came back only 1 now fit, but I was able file down 3 more to work. The remaining 6 parts needed to be turned down on a lathe, which the company arranged to have done. These misfits caused weeks of delay and frustration on the project, BUT I have to say the problem was handled very well by the fabrication department manager. Lots of sincere apologies and prompt action to make sure the issue was resolved as quickly as possible. The project is now done and looks fantastic.

  Overall, I was very happy with the finished project. It was quite cumbersome to complete, needing a different set of tools for each step of the project, but that is expected in most complicated endeavors. The customer service was great and each time I had a question or problem, it was taken care of with a quick email or phone call. Only minor pain for me was that the order came relatively "stingy" in that nuts and bolts and other necessary bushings or washers and such were counted to the very last piece and there were no extras in most cases. There was no room for a lost piece or something damaged during application. I had to ask for (and sometimes pay for) a few extra screws or nuts/bolts and bushings, etc. In the long run, it was a long journey, but well worth it now that I can enjoy the finished product.

  the lead time was incredibly long the first time we ordered. once we received that package, there were several pieces missing. Because of that we had to wait for a few more weeks for the "overnighted" materials. The end product was great, but the process getting there was rather frustrating. Partly due to the supply chain issues but partly because of company oversight.

  We put a SC & R cable railing in our kitchen along the opened stairway to the basement. Great look. People love it. The design process was pretty easy and our rep was great to work with regarding explaining options and ensuring we got all the parts needed. Definitely would go with SC&R again!

  This is an awesome product. I get compliments on it everytime someone new sees it. Invest in the tools! The right cutter and crimper make the installation easy and repeatable. I have done out lake house and our home. Ditch the spindles and all that painting.

  SC&R products are top notch and are packaged for shipping with high attention to detail. My sales rep Aaron took good care of me when I needed something. It`s so wonderful to look out onto the deck and see right through the railing to our own little nature preserve in our back yard. We`ve had nothing but high remarks from family and friends who have been over. Being a fairly large deck at 18 X 25 ft. plus 9 steps I was concerned about taking on the cable railing myself, but once I got started the project went pretty smooth. Looking forward to a virtually maintenance free deck and railing !!

  Faster than expected delivery. The materials were all there. It was a little difficult hand picking all the items needed for the job, since it was my first cable rail install. I hesitated to ask their design team to help because I didn’t want to wait longer and paying more. I don’t know that that would have been the case but the details about what the design process costs were unclear.

  For the most part, it has been an OK experience working with SC & R. We did have issues as far as having the order delivered and tracked in the beginning and my biggest problem could have been avoided if one of the sales reps could have informed us that SC & R could have drilled all the stair posts (16) as long as we provided the necessary information to do so. Now, we had to find a local machinest to drill all 16 posts costing us over $1,000 which we didn't incorporate into our cost. We also needed to provide shop drawings for the machinest which took over a week to complete.

  all is good, but they are a little stingy with the nuts and bolts and grommets, etc. everything is done by exact count to do job, but if you strip a thread or damage those pain in the butt grommets, you are out of luck. they do not give extras on anything like most companies and you wind up asking for more. sometimes you have to pay for the extras just to get the job done. then there is down time while you wait for deliveries.

  From start to finish our experience with Stainless Cable Railing has been fantastic. My husband had extensive calls with them to ensure we had absolutely everything accurately measured and had everything we needed. We had two custom gates made to which were done after we had installed the cable railing to ensure the measurements were accurate. I highly recommend using this company, great quality, great price and very timely.

  Very helpful on all my questions, ordering and details. I would recommend a more detailed hand out on installation, and emphasis on important details that must be adhered too, and why specific items are needed and how they connect. this would greatly enhance the install process, and help the home install warrior get the job done with ease.   Took way to long! Somehow my paid product was misplaced. Then had to be made, had to be powder coated. Shipping took its sweet good old time. Product should be made in different lenghts and available for customer to choose. All the products have been good. Disappointed in being over looked for months.

  Wonderful experience. I've never installed this style railing before and Allison @ SC&R was excellent from start to finish. She was very professional and answered all my questions before and including after the sale during the actual installation. We will definitely use them again on our next railing project.

  We were looking to update our old wooden deck with composite decking and stainless steel cable railings. I found SCR online, and sent in a request for a quote. In a timely fashion they replied back to me with requesting the information they needed to quote the job. I got that for them, and within a few days I received a detailed quote for our new railing system. The price (with delivery) was ~20% less then ordering at a local material supply store, and their lead time was much better. I ordered from SCR and received the order within the lead time that they quoted. My contractor was very happy with the product, and had no troubles installing the railing. We have more work to do next year and we will be sure to use SCR for the railing portion of that project.

  Excellent customer service and product quality. Very responsive to our custom requirements, and at considerable cost savings over one other company (which will remain anonymous) whom we had to basically argue with to quote our design specs. Additionally the favorable pricing from SC&R included all the tools we needed to cut and crimp the cables, as well as detailed instructions for installation. What's not to like?

  I ordered the jig for drilling holes on an angle. I used it on a 4x4 pre-treated post, 33 holes I drilled. It worked out very well and I was very happy with the quality.
