  I had countless issues with nearly every facet of my $15,000+ order with Stainlesscablerailing.com. The salesman I worked with wasn't very familiar with the product but I didn't figure that out until I was missing critical parts to complete my project. Several times my deliveries were either missing parts weren't shipped per my order, something was shipped that was the wrong color, critical parts that weren't in my order weren't brought to my attention by the salesman which I would have expected them to let me know what I needed for my order since they should be experts in what they're selling. I went over my railing design with the salesman but he ordered and shipped the wrong intermediate/terminal posts. I had so many shipments that had to be returned. I eventually had to start emailing the CEO to get the appropriate attention. The CEO never replied to me but had another salesman take over with my order. When I originally placed my order, I had ordered ~150ft of 2x6 ipe railing but was never informed there was a backorder until I had to keep asking when I'd receive the railing. I eventually had to cancel that part of my order and source from another lumber supplier. Even after reading all of this, if you for some reason do choose to do business with this company, make sure everything is in email. I had conversations with my original salesman that he claimed never happened so from that point on I had to email so there was a papertrail. I honestly can't say anything good about the company. There prices seemed better than most competitors but that was before I bought what appeared to be a "complete" railing package and then had to end up buying a bunch more parts that should have been pointed out.

  excellent customer service. responsive with missing parts or small reorders. the best constructive criticism i can give is that for commercial projects where there are a high volume of decks to install, it would be an improvement if the parts were packaged by work area rather than bulk packaging with common parts together. commercial projects are all about efficiency at the job site so having presorted materials for each work area would increase field labor efficiency and would set SCR apart from other mfr of balcony or deck rails leading to more orders.

  I am a general contractor and i was very pleased with both the staff and the quality of the product. The staff was able to answer my technical questions and also offer suggestions to make the installation easier. Shipping was on time and when I called because we were short on the last cable run, they sent it out no questions asked. I will be using this product on more of my projects.

  The service and product was excellent. However, the installation would have been much easier if the individual parts were somehow coded and identified in a construction diagram or plan. I received some wrong information regarding some post locations that took time to actually figure out.

  Home DIYer here. SCR is great to work with. Highest quality materials - from the posts and rails to each piece of hardware (no comparison to cheap box store kits - a whole different league of quality.) Careful, expert packaging and shipping - my order shipped cross-country and arrived without a scratch. (I appreciate the couple extra washers, nuts and screws in each baggie : ) Helpful instruction and spec sheets, videos on the website. Quick customer service for the couple things I needed to check on, and quick shipments of orders for hardware I had forgot. The railing came out beautifully, and I am glad I went with SCR for the project.

  Every post was drilled to perfection. All hardware was bagged and appropriate number of pieces included. Instructions for installation were exact. I had fun. It was a great experience. Kyle was my sales representative. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and available for some questions. He was very helpful and prompt with replies. Would highly recommend your product, service and delivery fir anyone considering cable railing.

  Shipping is far too expensive for this product. I explained that I did not need a full 20’ rail section, however, they could not be cut in any way saving me from needing them to be shipped in a 20’ tube… Additionally, the lags provided barely fit inside the black plastic trim caps. A socket should be offered that fits the lags if they are going to be offered as the “most affective” way to secure the posts to a wooden surface. We had to grind a socket down to be able to run the lags down past the black trim caps. Packaging of my order for shipping was delayed due to man power at the facility per my inquiry. This required us to reschedule the install twice based on updates from the SCandR team. I am surprised at the details I am able to remember, as I wrote this review, based on the length of time since this purchase and the count of other jobs completed. I will likely not order from SCandR again based on this past experience when there are others companies in this industry offering the same of like products. That said, the product I received was well made, straightforward to install, and looked excellent once installed. The sales rep I worked with was very knowledgeable of SCandR products. The buying experience is the only drawback here.

  Overall, the railing turned out very nicely. It looks better than expected, the kit was straight forward, and it is doable by a DIY'r. Having said that, I received multiple items damaged, missing, or incorrect. This took extensive back and forth and thanks to Boyd, who went above and beyond to remedy this, we'll keep this to a 4-star review. Thanks for all your help Boyd and I hope future customers receive the correct product. Stuff happens, I get it. Final #s... Value: 4/5 Ease of install: 3/5 Quality: 4.5/5 Timeliness / Customer Service: 4/5 End of the day, I would recommend.

  High quality product. I purchased aluminum posts, cable, and hardware. It actually exceeded my expectations for quality. I did have to wait longer than I expected from the date of my order to delivery. About one month. Part of my order was lost but they overnighted the missing package and were extremely attentive. I would absolutely order again.

  Please, please do your research first! The posts do NOT come drilled properly and it takes a significant amount of work to get them to the point where you can even begin installing them. No fasteners to attach the posts to the deck are included (seems like a basic thing to include), package didn’t even include the cheap little Allen wrench for the cable attachments (and of course they use a weird specialized size just with the drill bit required to drill the improperly drilled posts). Cables are not great quality and unravel easy in the heat. Honestly would be more satisfied if I just bought all the components individually from Home Depot, I have no idea why anyone would buy the full assemblage kit from these guys.

  Robert, I am surprised to hear this feedback. All of our post come standard drilled with 3" hole spacing or we have options to custom dill to your specifications.   James was amazing! He was very responsive over email. I was looking for a specific cable railing part for our existing railing and he spoke to me over the phone to get an understanding of what I needed and then shipped it right away even though it was their closing time. Later I had to return some unused parts and the process was pretty smooth with that too! Would highly recommend them for their customer service!

  I wish that I would have known there was an option to purchase the posts with floor flanges already welded to them instead of the two separate pieces that I got in my order. Also very unhappy that I have an extra 20 foot piece of top rail that cost me over $440 and I cannot get you guys to take it back for credit. One of the salesman designed my project based on footages I provided and he was off.

I believe some may have been longer than what I purchased. They also fell apart as I was unrolling them. The Stainless steel was of a good quality and no issues in using it to make my fence..

  This was the second time that I ordered this part #. First time flawless, second time from the order date to the delivery date incredibly long time. I called back and was told there were plenty available but was shipping from a different location and that was their estimated timeframe. I asked if I could get them shipped from the other warehouse and was told NO!

  Placed order to finish a project asked about availability of products and was told that everything was in stock. Hardware arrived shortly there after but cable was back ordered for a few months. SC&R had 500' rolls of cable but no 100' rolls they refused to cut a 500 into 100' sections so I could finish my project. Ended up finishing project with snow on the deck and below freezing made for a very slow process.

  SC&R was very easy to work with in designing and implementing a not-always-easy plan. It did require a number of trips to their warehouse to finalize the various parts involved, but they resolved everything in an efficient and professional way. The railing type, with a Epe' top rail looks great and was considerably less expensive than similar products I quoted.

  I placed the order on 11/18/22, I only received one email stating that order was received and never got any updates. After a week I sent an email asking status. I never received a reply from that email. At the beginning of the second week I sent another email and called. I talked to the rep and was informed my order was processing and he would check on the status, he stated that with large orders it usually takes 2-3 weeks. He never provided an update, I emailed rep again the beginning of the third week and received a reply that the company was moving and my order would not ship until the company had completed the move, but we were at the top of the list. I asked for a projected date of when my order would ship and was told it would take 3 weeks. This is unacceptable and should have been identified when I placed the order.

  I purchased the Aluminum Posts (36") with 1/8" Stainless Steel Cables for an outdoor installation along a retaining wall. It was easy to install. They provide you with a complete kit (tools included) to install the product. The end result is a beautiful modern look that doesn't obstruct our view.   we are a high end modern home builder... we will never work with this company again. we have done three homes with this vendor. please spend the extra money and go with feeney or viewrail. the initial interactions were great and hopeful, however the reality is quite different. in 30 years of home building i've never experienced such ineptitude and seemingly intentional errors. the reality in this business is that rarely do things come right the first time, i accept that, but when they provide the take off estimating service for their own product and get it so wrong four times in a row its just too much. now the latest reorder of 1 rail and a handful of small parts is split into two shipments with the rail (one 8' length) costing 300 is shipping and a separate shipment for the small parts is delayed 3 weeks - sure they sent an email saying it was delayed but come on... its been a ridiculous process.

  Installed the 42” high black cable rail posts and black cable. It’s the perfect height to lean over, flat to set a drink on and just at the right height so when sitting your visual is below the top rail. The black cable almost disappears especially at night. Super easy to install.

  I have placed two different orders with Stainless over the last three years and both times the customer service was exceptional.   Overall the staff were very nice. But as a home owner trying to install my own railing very little help was given. The order was not checked for accuracy, for ex no top rail was put on the order even though it was on the list and we talked about it and hardware was incorrect for my job. I had to make several trips to the shop to get correct items.So just briefly these were 2 very important components of my job or any railing job for that matter. After all, how do you build a railing without a top rail and the wrong hardware? No attention to detail was given. It was frustrating at best.

  Travis was an excellent contact in getting all the loose ends pulled together for this project. When the 'parts-kit' for the original order arrived, I discovered I received the wrong handrails. A second shipment was dispatched but unfortunately those handrails were damaged (bent) in shipment. The third shipment arrived safely and I was able to proceed with assembly. During the last steps and while threading the cable, I discovered I was short five (5) of the long tension rods. Travis came through again and now I can finally complete the project.

  It took much longer than expected to receive my order and a portion of the order is still not ready. A mistake was made in drilling holes for the stair posts which will arrive later. When i opened one of the containers, one of the large top rail pieces was broken. I've been in contact with my sales rep for these issues, but I can't give SC&R high rating for my order.

  There was 1 major problem that drove this review. The dimensions for the "Base Plate Assembly for Mounting 2x4 Wood Top Rail" were not uniform. Some were the 8mm specified, others were 10mm. This made it very difficult to install the top rail evenly. At $43 each, I'd expect far better.

  The sales cycle was very good. After receiving product there were some items that were incorrect. Unfortunately I had to cover the cost for replacement items. I am certain it was not my fault but because of the items I could not delay getting them. At a minimum they should have cover Ed half the cost. The project looked great after it was completed and that’s the most important thing. I only choose SC&R. If I would have it to do over I should have gotten multiple bids. Probably would have selected SC&R but would have been a more informed consumer. Overall I am satisfied with the final project.

  Very pleased with the product. I haven't completed the stair section yet until I knew how the main deck was going to work out i didn't want to order the wrong items. I have done a lot of cable in the past but always used cedar posts. Since it was my house I wanted maintenance free. There wasn't a clear picture or explanation of you wanted to thread corners to run continuous cable. It seemed nearly all were independent runs on each turn. I elected to run continue and it worked great. Also I don't care how perfect you are when framing your deck the room will never be plumb so rather than buying expensive standoff spacers I bought a box of 1"1/2 stainless washers to add on the top or bottom bolt to level my posts and it worked perfectly. And it was a fraction of the cost of spacers. Very satisfied and have already recommended to friends. SC&R should sell stainless hanging basket hooks. There are so few options available out there
