  My wife used linux for years until she bought a game where an old activex object was used to show a web page to complete product registration or enter some license key.Bought this box for her. It is weird that Ih ad to buy whole new copy of windows just to solve a minor issue, but at least gaming will not be a headache anymore for her.

  It's Windows 10. It's the full version, so you can do a full, fresh, installation. The USB drive worked better than expected. I had minimal updates after the installation. I would recommend this method. The product key was official. There were no problems.

  I use this product daily I really like it, BUT Amazon is cooperating with a corrupt seller. I bought Office 8 years ago and have thousands of documents that Apple made inaccessible by upgrading their OS. Yes, I know that’s a good thing , but constant upgrades give me no credit for the huge investment I already made, and it forces me to buy a subscription fir Office to use what I already had. Product is great, but the scan is worthy of a class action lawsuit.

  I had to upgrade from Photoshop Elements/Premiere 13 because I started using a 2019 MacBook Pro that came with the Mojave OS and the new OS wouldn't accommodate the older software. This newer version works well.

  In my last 20 years of windows upgrading experience, upgrading to Windows 10 Pro has been by far the easiest.The download and entire installation was very smooth without any issues. Keep in mind the download and the actual upgrade does take few hours. It took me about 6 hours with a very high speed internet connection.All of my essential programs worked flawlessly on Windows 10. I am using a 8 year old Dell XPS desktop. Had no issues with drivers.

  I'm writing this for those few folks out there running virtual machines under a VirtualBox host. I waited until the last dying moment to upgrade simply because my universe is on a Win7Pro instance and truthfully, I didn't trust Microsoft. I'll provide the few steps I did here to maybe help.1) You need to google and see if there are any conditions your machine doesn't qualify for. You need sufficient CPUs, ram and available disk space. I had plenty, 4 cpus, 6G, and about 3TB of disk with a lot of it empty.2) make a FULL backup of your old system, not just a snapshot. Google it if you're not familiar.3) download the executable from Microsoft (you won't have a choice).4) shut down your instance, go into settings and change the VERSION to Win10 and start it back up.5) If you have Avira or some other antivirus running, turn off the realtime protection.6) launch the executable you downloaded from Microsoft. There was a dialog or two in the beginning but once those are done, you're in for a wait. Go watch TV or something and check back every hour or so. Mine took 4 hours to finish.All my software and apps seem to work fine. I opened my MS Office and got a nag about licensing. Just click the activate over the Internet and that should be resolved (verified assuming legal copy) almost instantly.You may have issues with the virtual graphics card. if you see the warning, just chose continue. Once the installation completes, you will need to mount or go to your Guest Additions image and run the VBoxWindowsAdditions-[your cpu] in order to get more choices on screen size. Assuming you want Full Screen on your Instance, select from the VBox Guest Menu, View/AutoResize Guest Display. Alternatively, you can select a fixed size by right clicking the desktop and going into the Display settings and choosing from the available options. VirtualBox can control your display size or Windows can, your choice. I'm a full screen person so I used VBox's AutoResize capability.Anyway, it was uneventful. The look and feel is a bit different than Win7 but I got it close to my comfort zone so I'm happy no Cortana, cleaned up the Task bar to MY LIKING. Hopefully you will be happy as well, other than being forced into this update. Hope this helps.

  I had read that some peeps had non working USB sticks, but mine worked just fine. It installed on my SSD at stunning speed to be honest. I wouldn't worry about this USB stick not working for you. It will. If it doesn't, then at the very least, you have a genuine key, and all you have to do is just download the Windows file. Since you have a valid key, activation is garranteed. So in the end, you can't lose. As for Win 10, it's much different then Win 7. Mostly it's the same, just renamed. It takes a bit of time to figure out where it all went. But once you do, it's easy to use.

  Easy to install by USB and is easy to set up. It's Windows and it is cheaper than buyimg from Microsoft. If you want to get Windows super cheap, look into an OEM key. Just do the research before you decide.

  I read several reviews before I went ahead with this. Some of them indicated that people had big problems with the download. I didn't have any problems whatsoever. The installation went smoothly. It took a few hours, but 'most of that was installing the upgrades. I had a couple of problems with existing software on my computer after the installation, but these were solved quickly by tech support for that software. I only regret that I didn't heed the messages from MS that the free download was going away, so I had to pay for this. Oh well...my fault.

  I’ve used every version of Windows since 3.0 (yes, pre-Windows 3.11) and, in my eyes, Windows 10 is the best version yet. Yes, the twice yearly service packs can be a bit of a pain. Yes, it does sometimes try to sell me things. But it’s reliable, fast and largely just works. Broader compatibility than Ubuntu or MacOS (particularly the new Catalina version that eliminates support for 32 bit apps), nice built in email and calendar functionality and a reasonable built in antivirus (still get a third party, but this is better than nothing) make Win10 a great go to OS for general use, development, gaming and more.Yes, there’s still a cost (as there is for most things), which is sub-ideal compared to the free Linux alternatives. But given the easier install and broader compatibility with both applications and hardware, it’s not too much to pay. And this is a convenient format to buy it in.That said, your computer probably came with Windows. Or you have an earlier version you can upgrade, likely for free. So really the only use cases for this are if you are building a PC yourself or if you have a Mac and you’re using Boot Camp or Parallels or the like. In that case, you know if you need this and if you do, then buy away!

  I had a computer running fine with Windows 10 Home and then had hardware problems. I had to change the motherboard & processor. The computer wouldn't boot with the same hard disk. At the computer store they only had Windows 10 Pro OEM and I had to buy a new hard disk in order to install OEM version. I had to also install Windows on another computer so I used up the one and only activation. I had the product for Windows 10 home but it wouldn't work for Pro. There was no way to downgrade from Pro to Home. I ended up having to buy another Pro in order to get the computer to activate. Microsoft forced me to waste $189. The original hard disk should have booted.

  Amazon may not allow my post...I did not purchase my W10 pro here but from the MS store. Its easy, risk free and the image speaks for itself.There are lots of 1 star reviews, Probably folks who don't particularly like MS, you read it between the lines. As windows 10 is not perfect, it is easy to install contrary to some reviews. All my machines are three years and older, one is five with an Intel first gen i7 processor. I upgraded it to 16mb of ram and installed a WD blue 1tb ssd. I was at the desktop in about 15 minutes. Just so there are no whiners, that does not include downloading updates, installing apps or configurations.I have purchased W10 and pro from Ebay, they were OEM's, with success and a lower price, but as here, there is risk. The description here specifically states...no refund/returns. If you can read and can't live with that...do-not-order...but If do and it doesn't work, go look for a mirror and point the finger...yep! You can whine all day long and make excuses, no body to blame-game but that face in the mirror.

  I am a technology teacher, and I purchased my new dell laptop, and tried to downgrade to Windows 7, like my school. Encountered problems, the new processors will not load the Windows 7 extension, so forced to purchase Pro for added features, instead of Window 10 home. Wrong way to do business Microsoft!

  My office suite expired and I needed an easy way to reintergrate. You can't open any office documents or files unless you have an active version on your PC. I am not ready to purchase a new computer so the yearly subscription works best for me. Another reson to have the yearly is that you always have the most recient version to wourk with.

  MS Office 365 is a great product. It does everything expected. However, my experience with the Amazon ""help"" desk wasn't. My seamless update took all morning to rectify a problem that I was having retrieving my files from the MS OneDrive. During the morning I was shuffled from one tech to another. The overall experience left me wondering if I should have bought MS Office 365 from Microsoft instead.

  This is the new version of the standard office package. It installed easily enough, it runs fine on my laptop, haven't had any problems with it yet. I just wanted to have it at home so I could work on some unofficial work projects to get myself a little ahead there. We use Excel for a ton of things there, many of which would be better done with Access, hence my getting the professional edition, not home and office.I ordered this through Amazon because of the ""instant"" digital delivery option. But, it took 12 hours before Amazon processed the purchase, and then Microsoft had an internal server error on their side, so it was a full 60 hours before my ""instant"" purchase could be installed. Had I known that, I would have at least gone down to the local Best Buy or something and at least supported some of my neighbors who work there.

  Easy click the link download from Microsoft. Copy the serial and make your USB or DVD. Reboot and enter bios and change boot device to USB. After it installs and restarts go back into bios and boot from primary drive save and exit. This will finalize the installation.

  I installed Windows 10 Pro over an existing Windows 7 Pro system. The process went very incredibly well, and it was done in under 2 hours. All of my data, personal files, settings, Google account material, bookmarks, and apps transferred. The only problem I faced was with Windows Virtual PC (I had an XP system installed as part of WIndows 7 Pro.) While I knew that Virtual PC was no longer supported by Windows 10, the install still put links to the XP programs in the Start Menu. There is now no way to uninstall those programs, but the computer still shows they are available. I am not sure if uninstalling these programs in Virtual PC first would have fixed this issue, but if you have to do the same thing, it might be worth a try.

  I really love this form factor for installing Windows 10 on a new system. No more CD's, DVD's, etc to get everything installed. Installed the first time right away. Brilliant idea, wish they'd done this years ago!

  No issues with the key given. I created a new install from a prior machine w/Win10 and then used this key w/the new machine. (never used Amazon's download, just the key).

  It was only 100 for me so when I was building a new pc I knew I had to get this for my computer. I just plugged it in and launch my computer and booted up windows. Would buy this over a download so you will always have a hard copy and your product key.

  This works great. I was building a computer that was not going to have an optical drive, so I needed another way to install windows without a disc. This did the trick.Installation was super easy. Everything is given to you in a step by step instruction of setting everything up. Only problem i had was sutting up my drives I have two SSDs, and a HDD, and had to manually add the second two drives after the initial boot up. But I was easily able to figure it out with the help of Google.Love windows software so much. Setting s is easy to navigate and they still have the old control panel available if you're more familar with that rather than the new settings.Very glad they had this option of USB.
