  Too bad there aren't 10 stars because I would give it! Everyone at this joint has been impressive! From helping us (as kids!) with entry-level cameras buying decisions, to answering "complex!" questions when we're in the middle of shooting our products and still delighted by camera settings, they've always been quick to help. The only one with a snob proclivity is their workaholic technician in repair. If you don't bring a serious issue, prepare to be frowned upon. :D

  Superb customer service is as rare as rocking horse crap. If you need anything to do with your camera or to rent one, go to Park Avenue Cameras. I couldn’t be happier with how I am warmly received on the phone as well as at the door and how I am handled by their staff. Most recently, I took my camera to Park Avenue Cameras for a defective sensor. Alex, who is just awesome, gave me a thorough tutorial on tidying up the sensor with my own tools so I don't have to keep moving back and forth having them clean it, which has happened several times after switching lenses frequently in the last few years. I now feel more confident doing this myself after the 101 tutorial! So thanks for that! Also, definitely take one of their camera maintenance classes. DO THIS!!!! They're great. :-)

  Very friendly and knowledgeable family-run business. They take the time to walk you through the basics and don't try to push expensive equipment on you as a beginner. Online delivery is also very prompt. I was Happy they kept my daughter entertained as we sifted through technical details.

  Recently bought a new Nikon camera + lenses from here. I found the staff very knowledgeable and friendly. When the products were delivered direct from the supplier, one of the parts was broken so I called up the shop and they sorted it out without question with the replacement part delivered the next day - great service. Would recommend visiting if you have any questions about what's best for your photography needs.

  Brick and mortar commerce will never be wiped out by Amazon if shops like Park Ave Cameras remain trendsetters! These' folks are friendly, super knowledgeable and really, really hard-working. I bought a Celestron Star Sense telescope, AUX splitter and two eyepieces/ one Swarovski / one Zeiss. Great prices and perfect fit for me. Now almost two years later, the optics in for repair, at a bargain and the service is still absolutely fantastic.

  I visited Park Ave Cameras during a visit to New York, looking for a lens that I had not been able to obtain at home in Scotland. It was the weekend but they were able to obtain the lens from their loacl warehouse by Saturday which helped me significantly. The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant to speak to. I would recommend Park Ave Cameras for any photo needs you might have in NY.

  Ask for Alex! Arguably one of the most knowledgable, patient employees I've encountered at any camera store. They are incredibly helpful, and if you're a student you rake in a 10% discount. I usually go there for advice and most of my telescope-related purchases.

  I always find this shop very helpful. They have the personal service I like. I wanted a particular kind of Nikon adapter and they explained all the options and demonstrated how to use the one I selected. Nothing was too much trouble. They know their stuff and deserve to have plenty of customers.

  These guys are the street deal value. I bought a Canon AE- 1 two years ago and shot with it reams of film. In the middle of the second roll the film core lever stopped functioning. I took it back in today, and they let me exchange it out for a Pentax Spotmatic at no further charges. The only problem was that I had already ordered myself a Canon lens from B&H that is now on its way, and I was told that I could bring it into the shop and swap it for an equivalent Pentax lens. That is customer service. They also do film production here, which is just about as cost-cutting as no other place I've seen ($17 / 24 frames) and supposedly has a quick turnaround of just a couple days.

  I have many previous course of dealings with Alex at Park Ave Cameras. I have worked more than 10 years as a wedding photographer in Seattle and it is a delight dealing with Alex. He has the wisdom so often scarce in most shops these days. His knowledge is extensive straddling over decades, it is easy to discuss even the minutest (technical) detail with him. Communication is excellent and every transaction is dealt with in the utmost professional way. Shipping is swift and packaging is done with care! Every product description has been clear and thorough plus the prices are super fair. Alex is a true professional and gentleman. Park Avenue Camera symbolizes what good camera stores were like in the yesteryears! I look forward to more dealings with them.

  Neat shop packed to the ceiling with used/new cameras for pros, semi-experts and amateurs. Nice and versatile stock of film, and good selection of film cameras, many in good condition. Gentleman I dealt with was helpful and to the point. Buy film locally.

  For long, I didn't even know this store was nestled right in my neighborhood. I was habitually attuned to Amazon for camera needs. Happened to find this online and stopped in to the store to find a Nikkorr lens for my Nikon. They had it in stock for a good price, they were very knowledgeable with everything we spoke about. I ended up going back the next day to buy it, also grabbed a tripod and they shipped it from their other store to my house at no extra charge. Great people HIGHLY recommend !

  Whether you shoot with a Fujifilm or you need Canon or Nikon lenses this is your place. Courteous folks .. and super knowledgeable. It’s a veritable “CAMERA STORE” ... and they have plenty of them along with rapidly growing customers. I picked up a 105mm f/2.8G IF VR macro lens while I was there. I am from out of town but I come to New York every now and again with different shows and Park Ave PHOTO & VIDEO equipment is on my map now. So.. I am off to try out my new lens.

  Park Avenue Cameras is awesome. Friendly knowledgeable staff, many used products in stock. They can get any new camera or lens made if they don't have it in store already. I've been a customer for over 10 years and they have always devised genius solutions to any issues I've had, which were very few. They even removed a trapped lens filter for me when I damaged a lens and it got stuck in. This is your camera store.

  Must-visit this place! I get all my camera jewel and lenses here. The staff knows me by name and are extremely enthusiastic about photo-video-graphy. They always take the time guiding me in the right direction without the clever sales pitch online. Best of all If I know of something they don’t have at hand they will get it for me! Their 30 day return policy gives me a peace of mind too. Something I don’t usually get from faceless online Shopify when making an expensive purchase.

  Customer service was above expectations. The staff members there are very helpful and extremely patient. They will answer every single question you have for them. They also serviceability and maintenance classes for do-it-yourselfers. This business will definitely be on my future trips for photography.   I recently developed a huge interest in photography, through internet I found Park Ave Cameras had sales around Christmas season, that's how I met their sales person: Craig. He gave me useful advice on choosing lens and tripod. I absolutely love all the stuff he recommended. He also helped me to install tripod plates.   I would recommend buying from this company. Customer service was very compassionate in modern parlance. I needed to buy portable (collapsible) light modifiers for geo shooting. I called them to get exact sizes to make sure the product would fit inside my carrying bag, and the staff was very helpful and actually measured it. I'm very pleased with the functionality of the modifier (25" collapsible beauty dish), and will be buying more of their products in the future. I have since bought two 12x36 inch umbrella strip softbox for headshots. Once again, great product and fantastic service. I'm very pleased with Park Ave Cameras and highly recommend them!

  The best customer service I have had EVERYWHERE EVER! and they sell great Nikon knock offs such as soft balls flashes, lenses and batteries at vastly cheaper prices. All work better than the Nikon brands I had before.

  Amazing service here from the owner, and all of the staff. They're very knowledgeable in astrophotography and have been able to answer my product questions without hesitation. They will have everything you would ever need for astronomical observations, and accessories regardless of the brand of your gear. The product themselves are very good quality, and I haven't had any problems with some of the equipment I bought here two years ago. Local warranty, for me is a nice bonus.

  It's a much more fun store than most. It's richly patterned on a rustic, Western, Victorian way. It also carries a large variety of products for pretty much any photographic activity you can think of, and is also an excellent place to find gifts. The store is very expensive, unsurprising due to the nature of the store. I'd recommend a visit even just for something to do.

  I love this store, it's like a photography enthusiasts' wet dream. Lots of quality products, huge selection of items to choose from, covers all optics types with quality products and reasonably competitive pricing. You may find cheaper elsewhere but if you value seeing something in person I think you should support the store you bought it from and not Amazon. Staff here are always very nice and friendly.

  Been here three times this year. The most recent was picking up for family members. Park Ave Cameras are following the Covid19 distancing rules and control how many customers are in the store. This is a very large, organized, spacious and clean store. Great selection of cameras, used gear, darkroom supplies and optics. Great service from their friendly and helpful staff who assisted me in locating some of the items I was looking for. The washroom is always very clean and they have a large parking lot. I also want to mention the museum like atmosphere with the portraits templates and artwork.

  This place is amazing! I have my binoculars, scopes and a couple of other supplies from this location has the "Astronomy Library". I went in to this location as I am not from the area and the man helping me was extremely knowledgeable. I was impressed with the amount of information he had and willingness to help me. Additionally, he explained the program they have for kids to experience the universe which I think is great. This location has plenty to offer and much more.

  Very professional staff, the whole team feel great and knowledgeable. They could offer me great advice on what to pack with my Sony depending on what usage I wanted. They made me a good deal on a couple of item after packaging my kit. The shipping was then extremely fast, same day shipping and received in two days. It's sad it's 3 hours away from my house but it was well worth the ride.

  As I was venturing into photography and came across Park Ave Cameras store on the search engine. I was dealing with a different business and the staff left a sour taste in my mouth trying to push me in buying and not really helping me understand what would be suitable for what I wanted to do based on my requirements.   I had the pleasure of dealing with the store recently when I had ordered a couple of darkroom supplies from them online. When they arrived, some had been damaged by the post courier in shipping, and I was prepared to order another, but when I explained what happened, their courteous representative just sent another one overnight, at no cost, and even refunded the shipping on the original order. I consider this the finest kind of customer service, and far beyond expectations. A first class operation for certain.

  Came to Park Ave Cameras to have some scans of Polaroids processed. Considering I had zero experience in doing that sort of thing I was so appreciative when staff went above and beyond to help me with each scan and even photo shopped some distortions that were on the Polaroids. Great customer service super hands on and quick.. also.. affordable. Thank you Park Ave Cameras :)

  So I haven’t been to the store in person yet, but I recently bought a used Fujifilm XE-3 from here. This high-end store has the best selection for 2nd hand cameras, lenses and other accessories. Craig was able to help me out from showing me pictures of the camera and shipping it to me. His professional customer service is top notch and I could only guess how much better he is able to help out in store.

  Hands down one of the best customer service in town! Walked in today because I had misplaced my HDMI cable and I needed a new one. The sales assistant, after he helped me figure out what style my cord was, told me that I should get in touch with the Customer Service but that he will see if they had any spare ones. Couple of minutes after, one of his colleagues handed me a brand new piece and said that it was free of charge. What a fabulous customer experience!

  Popped in to ask about a defect with my metabones speedbooster I got from another shop. The gentleman who helped me allowed me to borrow a lens in store to troubleshoot the issue. Beyond kind and helpful. Their prices are not bad at all. The exact same as online without worrying about shipment. Can't wait to pick up the Tell zooms I ordered and can't thank you guys enough for the help!

  I was hunting for a hard-to-find Nikon J3 camera that was not in stock at any stores in Manhattan. When I emailed I was lucky enough to talk to Craig who came up with the idea that I could look at one from one of the other warehouse and then bring one in from another store if I was happy with it. This was a great solution and I did end up ordering the the camera after all. This is the store for exotics in the photographic market Staff knowledge about the products and their enthusiasm to help out the customers even when they don’t really know what they are looking for has helped me considerably, a step in the right direction. It’s great to see someone so dedicated to helping others achieve their goals. This must be why Craig and other employees are always working their bones. He's definitely an asset and I look forward to dealing with him again when I require more products.

  The staff is friendly, and knowledgeable. Vast selection of products, including all major brands of cameras. The store also launch frequent workshops on a wide variety of photo related topics as well as running camera demos and other promotions. Alongside there store based operations, they also host a personal lessons doing reviews on all the latest gear, and have been hosting a local meetup of photographers at local bars, designed as a way to share the love of photography with like minded individuals.

  Trailblazer local home-grown camera store. If they had an Achilles heel, it would be that they have too much stuff in the store. Vast wealth of experience in staff whether you are into photography or video production. Great variety of books as well. They do a great job organizing events in the community as well, and offer a regular set of Nikon Workshops and meet-ups to help the New York photography network better connect.

  I came in today looking to purchase my first first- level camera and was blown away by this photography palace. It's a fountain of photo wisdom in which the magic of the art is sheathed! Craig was amazing, I had done my homework on the cameras I was looking for but Craig gave me far more technical comparison than I ever could have achieved on my own. I highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a camera to head to this shop there expertise is unbeatable

  Second time purchasing from Park Avenue Camera and will always check here first for equipment in New York as the prices always seem better than competitors, not to mention the bonus items (lens hood in my package) which most US stores seem to always include but almost none locally. Also appreciate that I very quickly got a call from a real human after placing my order to confirm the address, great customer service and super fast dispatch time. Thank you!

  By far the best piece of the action ever received from the photography world! I live in South Dakota and it is rather difficult to get decent services up here. Being new to photography and having a spinal injury, Craig has emphatically helped me out in selecting the proper cameras, lenses, accessories and gives warranties on what will be my new gear. They gave me advice such as insuring my camera and pricey electronics and were on top of communicating with me when my order had to be split up due to back orders. I’m ever grateful and will be keeping them as my favorite camera store.

  Bought a lens for my Nikon D3500 here a while back. Customer service was top notch, the owners even helped me eliminate some creepy bug on my camera software in a jiffy. Since then I've tried to make all my camera purchases here, I've bought tons of film development stuff and used gear. It's worth checking out compared to the competitors. Also sent a lens for repair to Nikon via these guys, the process was handled smoothly.

  Bought online during the Corona pandemic. Amazing response time and shipping time. Ordered the Sony Alpha a7 III Mirrorless Digital Camera ( Body Only) and they have a special providing a free extra battery! I was so satisfied I actually ordered my dream lens from this shop. If you're a New York buyer this is the place to order! And they only charge online like prices! Note that states that have stricter taxes get the full charge on purchases. The only problem is cleaning up my camera when I find out the equipment and the lens collects grime....

  James was super knowledgeable and very witty with describing features of a lens I wanted to buy on Thursday evening near closing time. We dont admit how lucky we are to have a brick and mortar camera store right in our backyard! Will return for all my camera needs! ....after a couple of minutes of trying out lens on my camera body and getting excellent results of the lens capability...I invested a $1500 plus lens the first time I stepped foot in the store...Best Buy may be cheaper but when buying a highly priced product you will be wondering about online risks..is it really new...is it from the USA market, what if its defective and have to return and wait more..and will it really be what I need and Mom and Pop fashion customer service from a knowledagaeble salesperson...enough said

After spending considerable time at Park Avenue Cameras, I returned a week later to buy the Camera from Sloane, one of the staff. He answered every question candidly on both visits, helping me decide which camera might be best for me.   Last fall I convinced my wife to tag along on a trip to New York. The trip would be just about almost two hours from where we are, but they understand my enthusiasm for the craft. Upon arriving, the store itself has that old camera store look and feel, you can almost smell the dark room in work. I have gone to B&H, but this place holds a richness in the epoch of film but also caters to those gone digital as myself. The stock selection varies from backpacks, straps, lighting, soft boxes and used film cameras and digital. That day I asked for a proprietary Sony filter and received a third-party one for a fair price as well as some information on it by the staff and even got to speak to James himself. Overall great spot to check out if you're in town and great knowledgable staff.

  Super knowledgeable, very friendly, extremely honest, and their store had everything under the sun inventoried, for both digital and film, manual and automatic. I went there as a completely ignorant beginning photography student with a list of supplies needed for the class. The staff was beyond professional, helpful, honest, patient, and in no way did they ever try to "pitch" me anything, but instead helped me to make informed choices about what I needed. The prices were more than fair, and the quality is excellent. I drove two hours to the store because reviews online said that it was the best customer experience you could have, and they were not wrong. I would recommend them to anyone, and I am extremely satisfied that I got all my supplies at excellent quality and price. They also clean and repair cameras, too!

  Park Avenue Cameras! Drove all the way from Manhattan to find my new favorite camera store! I love the fact that it is family owned and operated. Went there to buy a new camera originally. Then a week later went back to buy my second (upgradeable camera new) and another new lense. Their knowledge is top class and prices are amazing.   5 stars squared My father was a photographer and he loved his equipment. When he died, I had the job of selling 4 Nikon cameras and many lenses. A $9000 lens was slipped into someone's pocket and the Park Avenue Cameras near me took my equipment 2 1/2 years ago and I haven't seen many sales. I took all the left over equipment and drove them to NYC. The man asked to help me carry the equipment and took most of it. Yesterday I got a check for $22.50. And it was the latest of several. My contract says the equipment only needs to be held 3 months unless changed. I didn't change, but this store is honest! 2 1/2 yrs later!!!

  Our Sony RX100 IV is used to photograph and identify spotted and blue Whales in our research out in the New York coastlines. I noticed some dark specks on our photos and after a thorough cleaning of the lens as per the manual, some of the marks roughened on our photos. I took the camera to the professionals at Park Avenue Cameras. Their very friendly and knowledgeable staff took the time to show me the debris on the sensor. I left it in their capable hands to clean it, walked downtown for lunch and they had it cleaned perfectly and ready to go when I returned. They answered a few questions I had and made some kind recommendations. Park Avenue Cameras is highly recommended by The Blue Whale Study Project, a non-profit scientific research organization.

  Awesome shop and staff. They have a lot in stock. Willing to take the time to show, try lens and educate what’s best for your use. Felt warm and welcoming. I am a rookie beginner asked a lot of questions and they were Patient and willing to explain. They also price match and are the same price as online. So why go else where and get the knowledge. This will be my shop for now on. No need to go to Big box stores to get the same product, when I get full service here.

  Very helpful, went to print some old negatives and what I wanted was a little complicated. I had marked which ones I did and didn't want with little flags and they were very accommodating. Unfortunately some of them had gotten stuck to the film and they had no advice on how to fix them but overall very understanding and helpful!

  Honestly, this is the best photo store in New York. They’ve been around ever since I picked up a camera and man that’s more than 10 years. They have everything you need available in store for the beginning to the advanced photographer. The customer service here is outstanding as they will listen to every question you have and provide the best suggestions as well as a perfect explanation to tell you why. All 35mm film is available here a bit pricey but if you need it right then and there it’s available to you. They clean sensors but limit service for certain cameras. Anyway, go to Park Avenue Cameras. You’ll be in safe hands.

  The store is magnificent and well appointed. I don't think there is a camera accessory they don't carry. If they can't help you, they will advise on who can. I have been a customer for about 5 years and always satisfied. The last visit was in December of 2019. I was not there for a new purchase (wish I was) but to ask about a camera I had purchased a year before. The associate that helped me was patient with plenty of know-how. I may use other smaller vendors closer to my home, from time to time...but if I want the final answers or the best quality, I always go to Park Avenue Cameras.

  Perfectly great service and fast delivery (NYC to New Orleans in 2 days during Covid 19 from order to receiving). Recently I was looking to buy AUKEY Dual Dash Cam HD 1080P. After googling best price, Parkave Camera has that product $50 bucks cheaper compared to other seller including BestBuy & Amazon. I’m based in New Orleans and found out that Parkave Camera is in New York. Given Covid 19, I was concerned the delayed delivery. I was trying to price match with online retailers which I get the price but I decided to buy from Parkave Camera as BestBuy service was bad.   I only bought film for a camera here but giving 5/5 due to customer service. I bought 2 packs of film online. I then got a call from Parkave camera shortly afterwards, explaining that I could have bought the 2 packs at a cheaper rate because of a promotion that I didn't notice. They refunded the difference to my card straight away. I found the staff to be helpful and informative when looking through the store also. Honest, transparent and customer-oriented!

  I purchased my Fujifilm X-A3 Camera from Parkave Camera a few weeks ago and I was so impressed with the service from Jones and staff. Walked in to a smiling array of staff all happy to help, but never pushy! I will certainly return for film production services and am currently saving for my waterproof casing for the camera mentioned above.   I've bought a camera and lenses from Parkave Cameras and they have always been very helpful. The other day i had a strange mark appearing on photos taken on my Fujifilm DSLR and they found something foreign had worked its way behind the shutter and they fixed it while I waited.   Went here for the first time yesterday to go and get some 35mm film developed, which is a rare service with and they also actually supply the 35mm film roles. They have upstairs and downstairs facilities with camera equipment, cameras and video cameras of various brands, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable with a long-standing history in the area. They are located on a convenient nook with some parking in the area. Worth having a look for that little something different in the world of cameras.

  Very helpful and very informative. My first visit there and first impressions are so important for return, I will definitely be visiting there again and quite likely buying from them too.   If you're like me and the only thing you know about camera equipment is that you want one, Jones definitely the guy you gotta go to!
