  These guys are awesome, we live in the upcountry and we have ordered of the guys twice via their website and the orders are always prompt, well packaged and easily tracked. Great service and great customer service. The bonus is that if you are not sure what you need the guys point you in the right direction and within your budget. Just recieved my latest order that took a very short time to arrive. Item was exactly as described with packaging that protected it well. Thanks Jones.

  I was in New York for the day so I dropped in to purchase a couple of small items. From what I saw Parkave Cameras have a very good range of all things photographic, for beginner to advanced, and at better than competitive prices. My conversation with the sales guy who served me turned to Photography (obviously) and he was knowledgeable, helpful, and offered suggestions regarding online resources which would enhance the pursuit of my new hobby. I have followed up those suggestions and am delighted with the outcome. I don't go to New York very often but will make a point of visiting Parkave Cameras when "in town".

  Jones has gone above and beyond in taking the time to teach me about cameras/types when others have not bothered from the effort and level of difficulty it has taken in dealing with my learning disability, he has answered the same few questions I have asked him in the last 9 months to the best of his ability each and every time, His replaced parts I've lost and has always steered me away from spending money on upgrades I don't need, i would have sadly givin up the hobby I've fallin in love with if it wasn't for his patience and kindness with me, 100/💯 thankyou

  Great products, but they can be purchased anywhere. What makes Park Ave camera a great place to buy from is their customer service and mission to help you be a better photographer. I have purchased from them on numerous occasions and on the rare occasion that something has gone wrong, they have made things right to ensure that I got what I needed to enjoy our hobby, photography. Finding a store that enables you to enjoy the hobby, instead of wrangling with inadequate equipment, is a jewel worth keeping in ones box of tricks.

  Awesome ..., absolutely awesome. I brought my camera from Jones and I could not be happier with the experience. The customer service was excellent. I have just spent time on the phone with Jones for additional accessories and again he could not have been more helpful. I wish he was closer so I could go there all the time!!

  Having had a glitch of along my ride with my online order. The NIKON and Park Ave Cameras tried to contact one another but things went haywire. When I complained, the owner (Jonathan) parkave called me to give me his assurance in case of further issues, and Mark arranged for the manufacturer to drop-ship the order to my doorstep in a matter of 24 hrs. He also, unperturbed, paid for the customs fees, which were substantial. This is a compact outfit handling a very large number of products, so the odd hiccup is no surprise. People in this line of work do it for the love of photography, not to get rich. But the way they will make things right for you is what impressed me the most. I highly recommend this family company.

  As a clueless novice when it comes to this past time i was very very happy with the service i got here. Could have easily been taken for a fortune but the honesty and integrity they have was refreshing. After scouring the web comparing and looking i went in to see what they had to offer and was amazed. Dont bother with the web just go see these guys you wont regret it. A local family business is always better than amazon and even though i had a million questions they answered them all and were super patient. The person behind me in line was an obvious pro and hearing them chat with the owner it was clear that whether a novice or seasoned vet this place is the real deal. I will definitely be going back.

  Mark has been great with me! I am new to telescoping and he has spent many hours now talking with me about reflector, optics, tracking, photography etc. To say the least, he has been very patient with me. He doesn't pitch products, suggestions they give only been useful items to me and my setup and he has never been pushy with sales. On top of that, they have very competitive prices. I live a few hours away and arrived after they closed early one night. I emailed Mark and he returned to the store and spent a good hour with me, well after their normal closing time. If that is not customer service and passion, I don’t know what is. I had a problem with my bank account when I got here but they pulled it off.

  My girlfriend and I recently invested in a camera with Park Ave Camera and while we did some research before buying (different companies etc...). We found that the customer service here was by far the best I have had. They were informative, punctual, gave solid advice and over all just fantastic. We are both amateurs and new into this and would recommend this company to anyone looking to get involved or are already involved in professional or recreational Photography.

  I went there for astronomical equipment (Newtonian scooe ...). Very nice shop, good service. Everything was well packed to avoid breakage. Really a place to visit, there is a great variety of products: cameras, underwater accessories, astrology pieces, electronics, for gift ideas that are out of the ordinary!

  A beautiful discovery there are plenty of things that can not be found elsewhere. Young astronomers, antique collectors and great explorers will find their accounts. There are also lots of photographic stuff, test tubes, beakers, and a rapidly growing telescope/astronomy lineup.

  On our trip to New York, we decided to pay a visit to this store. Previously, I tried to buy some products, but I found the website not friendly at all and I gave up. Well, since we planned to visit again the city, we stopped by to check the products. It was a great experience for my kids and myself. The owner, I think, was great at entertaining us and we spend close to two hours having trouble what we shall buy and what not. Overall, it was a great idea to visit the store.

  Jonathan Heaslop (the store manager) is amazing and knew everything there is to know about cameras, down to the very detail in how they are constructed and the different company's history with different kinds of cameras. He spent hours explaining all the pros and cons of the different kinds of cameras and brands in each, and helped me narrow down to a few selection in multiple price range for me to select (and did not try to upsell anything). I then went to the Park Ave Cameras to shop around and the service I received was no where as attentive and informative as the one I received at this Adorama. The guy picked one camera for me and did not care to explain what other brands/types have to offer and didn't bother letting me touch and flirting with anything else (He said "this is the best for you" in a casual tone and ended it with that). I then returned to the store and asked for Charlie to compare between the ones he had recommended vs. the recommendation from the Adorama Cameras. He spent another hour helping me do so, and at the end I felt like I had all the information I needed to make a good, informative decision of which camera to buy.

  Very good service. Mark looked at my old gear and found the best price and combination of equipment for me. He didn't try to upsell me and put my lenses on his camera so I could get a sense of the performance I could expect. I was looking to upgrade and spent $1500 less than I thought I would have to spend to get a system that would meet my needs. I appreciate the time he spent and the way he listened to what I wanted.

  I got back into scuba diving about a year ago after a few years away. There aren't many full-on underwater camera retailers in New York these days. I have placed several orders now with Park Ave Cameras, and my experience with this shop has been amazing every time I order. They are friendly, quick to respond to orders and questions, and the shipping has always been fast as well as excellent. The owner even helped me with a special request (to hold a camera for a couple of weeks until I was able to pick it up in person). I really enjoyed chatting with the owner while I was at his physical location; his passion for scuba diving really came through. I would have to say that Park Ave Cameras is the best dealer in the United States and yonder...

  I first decided to give it a whack in astronomy ten years ago. The telescope I wanted I couldn't find in the city. But the Park Avenue Cameras web site had a link to a wonderful store just at the edge of the city.   They have a great selection of astronomical equipment, and a spectacular array of eyepieces to choose from. I was intent on buying 2 eyepieces but as true enthusiasts, recommended that I only get one of them, as the other would more than likely not be useful for me. I really appreciated the honesty, making sure that I got the best item for my needs and budget, and not trying to oversell things. And even though they are a few dollars more than Amazon, the service, advice and experience of my visit justified the travel and price of the items bought. It's also nice to buy local whenever possible! In short, I will return to Park Ave Cameras, and also bring my students who will love to see the big scopes, and likely to get some great advice from the staff too. Definitely recommend coming here for all your astronomy needs. Thanks again for the awesome hospitality and customer service!

  Parkave has friendly and well informed staff with their products. I have ordered a new Tamron 24-70 G2 lens here and an older Canon 24-70 L-series lens. They gave me a fair price on my overall purchase with a deep discount on the new lens. Having purchased camera gear at various camera stores around this area, this shop is definitely the best. I wish I had come here sooner after having terrible experiences with the uninformed staff at big box stores. On my last trip to Adorama, a salesperson who didn't know the dichotomy between a Canon 24-105 F4L mark 1 and mark 2 just tried to surreptitiously search Online. They also were not willing to give a fair price for my used gear. Thankfully, Parkave Cameras has been a refreshing experience for me. I plan to return and buy another new lens this week.

  They don't break my bank. When I returned back to my old hobby of taking pictures, i made the trip from the Brooklyn, just to look around, ended up talking to a nice gentleman by the name of Stuart, who took his time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. I ended up walking out with a wide angle lens, that fit my budget. I do plan on doing my shopping at this place.

  I have dropped by to fetch a remote for my Nikon DSLR that I had crashed with heavy furniture. James was very friendly and helpful.   You can find most anything you need here if it relates to professional rentals. The internet has diminished it's worth to a certain degree, but for years and years it was a gold mine and a life saver for someone looking to buy some obscure tool or a fine camera.   The little hidden treasure is located inside an antique architecture in New York. The owner is a very knowledgeable gentleman who has spent his life working with cameras. Everything from old 35mm film to modern day DSLR's are kept in stock, along with any kind of accessory you may need. I've been there many times and am always excited to see what I'll find. Prices vary but are very reasonable. I'd recommend this store to beginners and professionals alike.

Visiting Parkave Cameras, I got my hands on 35mm photography after college and picked up a gorgeous Nikon F100 and some other pieces from their vast collection. He did not have what we were missing for our darkroom but recommended a local friend of his that did. Will be one of the first gents we'll call when looking for more goodies.

  We use the Canon Eos 5d Mark II as a pivotal tool for research. It helps to capture and identify spotted and uncharted sedimentary rocks in our research out in the Amazon. We noticed some black spots on our photos and after a thorough cleaning of the lens as per the manual, some stubborn marks remained on our photos. I took the camera to the professionals at Parkave Cameras. Their very friendly and knowledgeable staff took the time to show me the grime embedded in the sensor. I left it in their capable hands to clean it, walked down the street for lunch and they had it cleaned perfectly and ready to go when I returned. They answered a few questions I had and made some kind recommendations. Parkave Cameras is highly recommended by The Richard Dawkins Foundation, a non-profit scientific research organization.

  Great people, broad spectrum of videographic equipment which was perfect as what I needed wasn’t for photography. They took their time to show me lots of options to meet my needs. In this age of amazon being so dominant it’s great to see a brick and mortar store that holds such an assortment of inventory on hand with a staff that takes the time to show you lots of options - it’s not all about price - it’s about selling their value as they did it.

  When you dream of a camera Disneyland, this is a great place to come and get information from the experts on hardware and gear. They have a overwhelming range of supplies and equipment for most applications that you could want.   The New Yorks branch of Parkave camera is fantastic. They came through for me twice when the rentals department (housed in the Manhattan store) failed, twice, to get my rental order correct. Those who work in the New York store have also made an effort to greet me warmly and treat me with kindness each time I come into the store. Their customer service is excellent and I am happy to do business with this local camera shop.

  Super friendly and helpful staff, and a great selection of cameras, lenses, and equipment. You can even rent lenses from them, but they get them from their New York place, so call ahead and plan a couple of days in advance. They also sell used equipment as it becomes available. Definitely will be returning here for some future purchases.

  Went to rent some camera equipment for a wedding I was taking a video for. Super helpful staff in the rentals department who helped me decide what equipment to get and gave recommendations. Damage deposit was a bit steep but understandable given the equipment value, would go again for any of my camera equipment and rental needs!

  Very good contact point for photo-know-how in New York. Have heard so far from friends extremely positive testimonials from Parkave Cameras, I was now there myself looking for a camera upgrade. Having found Stuart as the right contact person for video and photo in the team, there was a very helpful and very experienced input on the advantages and disadvantages of various cameras in question. I was able to test in peace and to see which is the right equipment for me. That was really worth gold and helped with the decision. The purchase was not even more expensive than over the Internet. Conclusion: fat fat recommendation!

  I bought a small camera for my vacation pictures at Parkave Cameras fourteen days ago. The stock here is limitless, I wanted a model of Canon, but (as I know from the Internet) is currently out of stock, fixed. Alternatively, I was offered for my needs (good image stabilizer, high light intensity, macro fitness, etc.) a model for over 600, - US dollars, which unfortunately was not for me in question.   One of the last really professional photo shops in New York, which despite all Internet competition can always make a good price, while still advising the customer comprehensively (if the store is not overflowing).   My intention was to buy a follow-up camera for my broken Canon G12. All in all, the long way through the city was worth it for me, I went home with a Panasonic Lumix GX80 that Parkave Cameras was able to offer for a really good price. It took three attempts - only the third employee, who engaged in conversation when he realized that it was stalling, was equipped with the necessary skills to give very good advice. I was not urged to make a hasty decision but was able to think about my decision in peace in the café and then talk again with an employee about the planned purchase. I was offered several alternatives, pros and cons discussed extensively. I am very glad that there is still such a shop: neither in Adorama nor on the Internet, I would have received such a patient advice.

  Perhaps the best photo specialty shop in New York. It seems very small but the people of Parkave Cameras either have everything there or can get everything.   I have been to this store several times now: to get an antique camera, to extract some pictures from a disposable camera, and finally to generate some pictures from a film I found in a very old camera. The lad that was there took his time to explain everything to me - the costs, procedure, etc. and even recommended to develop the black and white film somewhere else because it would be probably cheaper and faster (as they have 2 different labs and they focus more on selling film rather than developing). To wrap up, super friendly staff, and most important, helpful. Go there if you need advice on photography.

  These are specialists in analog photography. They know how to develop imagery and have a large stock of films, accessories, developing chemicals and equipments, as well as photography books and merch.
