  I have always had great service from the staff at Murphy's Outlet. No matter what you are after, Cameras, Lenses, Binoculars, Telescopes, or their huge range of accessories, you can find it on their website at competitive prices. However, something they don’t put a price on, on their website, is their advice which frankly is priceless. Thank you Murphy's Outlet staff, you are the best!

  Although I have never stepped foot in a Murphy's store, the service I received via the phone was 5 star. The staff were always extremely friendly and able to give the right advice to us as novices. My son received the first GoPro 8 version the very next day that it arrived in the country. I will shop at Murpy's again and surely rely on their sage advice.

  In Denver, you are limited to where you can purchase reasonable priced camera equipment, so I decided to try Murphy's Outlet. My order was placed on the Jan 4th and arrived on the the 9th. I found that Even though I paid by PayPal, I still saved over $50 when compared to a well known credit card site. This is my first order with Murphy's Outlet but it will not be the last. They provide a Professional, Reliable and Very helpful Service and one for which I am gratefully indebted for.

  I first met the guys from Murphy's Outlet at the Colorado photographic arts center Weekend in September 2015. They are friendly, knowledgeable and happy to help and provide advice, whilst making sure you get the most you can for your money. I own several bits of Nikon lenses kit, including their stunningly good and fantastically cheap 24-120mm f/4 VR and 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR ( internal focusing to minimize the size of the lens and make it portable) and several other bits of kit that have been supplied by Murphy's Outlet. In the last 2 years, I haven't bought new photographic kit from anyone else; I get guaranteed quality, honest advice, exceptional service, super-fast delivery and the best price possible.

  I purchase from them occasionally over the years and have always had good service. A nice, straightforward business. I ordered the wrong kit recently, entirely stupid mistake and I returned it saying I didn't want my postage refunded. Andy nevertheless refunded in full. Customers: DO take more care with your orders than I did - Andy has a business to run and live off!

  I would highly recommend buying from Murphy's Outlet. Good advice pre-buying and a fast delivery even though it was around Christmas period.   I never thought Murphy's had a staggering knowledge of astronomy! Absolutely the go-to place for all your astronomy needs and great service. The 1.75" stainless steel tripod upgrade for the EQ3-2 pro mount adds huge amounts of mechanical stability over the aluminium one and coupled with the Skywatcher Synscan wifi dongle, makes visual and astrophotography a breeze. Won't go anywhere else👌

  Excellent customer support, were extremely helpful when suggesting alternatives to products that were no longer in stock. The owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable but friendly as well. It is a relaxed atmosphere to shop in and whether you are a beginner or advanced in the technology of photography you are assured a warm welcome. The showroom is full of great kit. Enjoy.

  Advice and expertise are abundant and free, and they have absolutely loads of equipment there in stock for you to get hands on and play with. It's a brilliant place. Prices are pretty good, not a lot over internet-only shops, and we need to keep using our independent shops like this or we'll lose them. 5 stars, recommended.

  I needed advice about evaluating an ideal telescope and camera for realtime DSO observations so contacted this company by email. They could not have been more helpful, patiently answering all my questions. After my purchase I realized I needed another AUX port as they had supplied a Celestron StarSense and SkyPortal so they popped an AUX splitter in the post for free. Incredible company!

  We both wanted cameras for a safari trip. We each had some idea of budget. The service was impeccable. The owners are knowledgeable and explained succinctly and clearly the relationships between functionality, quality and price. They were very clear that the gear needed to fit the person regarding comfort, weight etc. We tried a number of brands/ models before settling on the right ones. We each bought a pair within our budgets. There was an authentic interest in ensuring that we each had a pair that suited us best. Would highly recommend a visit to this family run business.

  Highly recommend this camera store. I have made several purchases from them over the years and they have always been very helpful taking their time to give you good advice. They have a magnificent selection of cameras and tripods if you can make it to there place.   Wonderful shop! 😄 Upgrade: Second time visiting the store but this time to buy my first antique SLR camera. The service was excellent and the prices of the cameras demonstrated were reasonably priced for a serviced camera with 12 months warranty on a Nikon FM and an in depth photography lesson! I can now take my camera on holiday now with confidence in knowing how to use the camera and peace of mind knowing that the camera was serviced.

  Murphy's Outlet comes highly recommended for the exceptional work and service. The owner is the engineer and technician, he is a straight shooter and an honest guy. Well conversant in his industry and what he does. After a year of getting the run around my Sigma lense is finally fixed. Cost was a fraction of a replacement lense. Had the lense sunken in water and as you can imagine stains was all over. It is now water-free as if it just came out of a new box.

  One of the best second hand camera shops I have visited. Having made a purchase at Murphy's earlier in the week I managed to inflict some damage to my camera. I made a call at 4:30pm asking for advice, the owner very kindly stayed late to wait for me so that I could get it fixed same day - within half an hour of the call and at no cost! Incredibly kind and helpful man, also had great patience in teaching me the basic functions of the camera. Would recommend this store to anyone in the market for second hand very well refurbished camera goods!

  I booked in my Canon Eos 700D Camera Lenses for a same day repair. The autofocus was not working at all and the engineer said he'd do his best. I was surprised when he said he could replace the autofocus component on the same day but he managed to complete the repair on time and the camera and lens is working fine. The cost of repair was much cheaper than buying a new lens!

  Murphy's Outlet repaired my camera last year. Took it in recently again because there was a problem with the shutter. This time they fixed it for free even though the initial repair was out of warranty. Excellent service!

  Retail chain specializing in proprietary digital photography equipment, telescopes and photo printing. The staff are friendly, very helpful. I recently had to visit n was on crutches, they warmly offered me seating while they went about finding some information for me, while processing my order. I was extremely grateful.   Never once had an issue with any film I've had developed here, and I have dropped by many rolls. $100.9 for C41 development! Also sell a wide range of 35/120mm film at reasonable prices.

  Best camera store on the 4th Street Court Road (some of the others are little less than rip-off merchants) and one of the best in New York. Certainly great place for 35mm and 120 film users and those that do their own processing, but also for accessories such as filters. And a nice range of quality used items. Highly recommended.

  My favorite camera shop in NYC! Good choice of film, very friendly and knowledgeable staff (they recommended my now favorite 35mm film), and the prints you get are of a far higher quality than somewhere like Snappy Snaps. I no longer go anywhere else.

  The shop has brick &mortar however they still run a wide business online. I always go to them to develop my films, they have a great price for prints compared to other places in New York and the quality has been fantastic every time. Pay online and pop your film in the virtual, usually within the week you've got your prints back! Easy!

  Have used Murphys outlet for a number of years now, having stayed with them after their move away from Denver Court Road. Always a super professional service, never had any problems with the posting and receiving of films, and they always do a great job with the developing! I tried ‘Adorama’ opposite one time for some crazy reason, and they were overpriced and did a terrible job. Will not trust anywhere else with my film, and am constantly recommending them to friends who don’t know.

  I've never been into this store and I probably never will. I also don't usually write reviews but reading through the comments and someone writing the "Newfoundland thing" has caused me to react. I've dealt with this shop over the phone and I've dealt with the shopkeeper whose name escapes me. He was extremely knowledgeable extremely pleasant to deal with and helped me with my query. I bought the goods I needed after his advice and they were sent professionally packaged and within expected deadlines. This first purchase was around 7 years ago and the products are still in use and other purchases since that first purchase have all been received in the exact same professional manner. I have no need to back this store as I live many miles away but good service deserves recognition and you will no be sorry that you dealt with this store.....that is unless you are a snob!!

  A great selection of photo and videography for beginners or professionals. Almost all camera brands new and used equipment and lenses. The staff know what they are talking about and are happy to demonstrate the camera or lens you are interested in. They do not try and pressure you to buy....but want to make sure you choose the right gear for your needs. One of my first places I visit when buying new equipment.

  Sloane was so amazing today, i went in to learn how to use my Leica and he was so patient and took his time in explaining it to me. he also gave me advice on stands, and lenses. as a new photographer, i felt so confident after i left.   Bought macro lenses for Canon online at Murphy's Outlet. Both lenses in pristine, excellent condition. Got good advice from the chat service. Delivery of package was fine, I paid for next day delivery on the macro, deliverry hadn't delivered by 5pm and on phoning Murphy they assured me my product would be returned if the lens didn't arrive that day. Luckily the lens came soon after the call, 4hrs later than voyage co had advised would be the delivery slot (not Murphy's fault). All in all, extremely happy with the service. Thank you.

  Having decided to trade in all my Canon Mark equipment for a Nikon full frame mirrorless system I called into the Murphy's New York store to test drive a camera and several lenses. I was teamed up with James Sloane who spent an hour and a quarter with me, testing three lenses and explaining the pros and cons of each. His helpfulness and patience helped me no end and resulted in me changing two of my lens choices based on his personal experience. A fantastic experience and full marks to Sloane for spending his time with me, even knowing that for various reasons I may have ordered from them online, which I ultimately did in order to just squeeze inside the Sony cash-back validity period.

  The notable thing about Murphy's is the professional and friendly service without pressure. I just bit the bullet and upgraded my Nikon D850 with an (online) quote for trading in the old model. Seriously impressed that when I visited the New York store, and Sloane and colleague examined my camera, Murphy's significantly increased its offer. I came away with the new camera, a high capacity card and an external hard drive, less poor than anticipated. Staff are enthusiasts rather than sales people and show some old fashioned values. Sloane even extracted the filter on my lens. “What’s the trick?” I asked. “Firmer hands,” he replied.

  We were assisted by Sloane at the NYC store yesterday purchasing a camera for professional use in a private investigator's practice. We’re relatively new to photography but needed expertise before investing in expensive professional equipment. Sloane was exceptionally helpful and answered every question we had, assisting us for hours to find exactly what we needed.   Brilliant customer service ! I have been to this shop as I wanted to buy a Lithium Ion (1500 mAh 7.4v) - Replacement For Nikon EN-EL14A. I waited for a few min as the shop was busy. Sloane provided me an excellent customer service. Even if the battery was sold out, he tried many times to try the customer who reserved it. At the end as he could not find it he gave me a battery (already used) for free I could not believe it. I was so happy as I could not find this anywhere else. He made my day ! I highly recommend this shop.

  Spectacular store! I really find this place to be the best of all photography stores. The staff there are all very friendly and always ready to help you out. You can clearly tell that they know their stuff and know so much information about the products they are selling, that even if you don't know what exactly you are looking for you won't be left hanging there like a bull in Chinese shop. As far as prices go theirs are even lower that those on amazon and you have a special opportunity to sell your old stuff to them. They will evaluate your stuff really fast and then call you and inform you about the estimated value. In exchange you can receive a check or just buy some new stuff from their shop. Isn't that great!

  Good service. I bought my first film camera and got some good tips for starting a hobby from the employees. I was shooting a couple of rolls of film until the camera showed a minor defect. The frame was replaced without any problems and shipped to Michigan!

  This place is humongous!!!!   My favorite tech store in New York. Very friendly staff who always look after me. Always the best deals on tech, weather it's a Fujifilm, a point & shoot, a Leica new release, or even a telescope, you'll usually find a good deal from the helpful staff that are always around to show you the latest, and the greatest technology available.   Rich produce in photographing related products. Reputation as a quality product producer proceeds the name. Prices are analogous. You can find several quality products in the store and even more in their online store. The staff is professional which is not always the case nowadays. This New Yorker's store is situated in the well-known building. Passport approved photographs are also available. There is also a nice small cafeteria in the store area, and direct access to a federal Library.

  A really decent place to get some equipment. The customer service was nice and could always help me, just the prices are not the cheapest one in town, but sometimes they offer great deals. Most of the demo lenses and cameras are inside glass vendors, so you need ask the staff to open them to test them out, which is quite annoying if it's busy and you need to wait for a long time. Overall a great place if you know already what you want to buy and the price doesn't matter to you. It's the only camera store I've run into in NYC that actually has a comprehensive collection of cameras and gear. The employees also know their stuff. Fun.

  Shopping for camera gear is great with comprehensive stock and helpful employees. And for larger purchases they walk you through all extras without being too pushy to get the expensive option other than just saying what the benefits are. They ask if you want extra insurance and take no for an answer, which for me is a plus. Employees actively look up customers if they need help and if you ask one for help even if they look like they have lots to do they meet you with a smile and no attitude.

  NYC! Beautiful architecture and huge high rise buildings. With some great pubs and Hardrock Cafe, nightclubs as well, there is always something for you to do here. Enjoy browsing/shopping along Times Square in the heart of NYC Paradise. Many shops along the street-side including souvenir shops.

  I have just had the most impressive experience at Murphy's Outlet. An old camera, dying memory, overloaded data, etc. I really went just to have them destroy it. But Andrew and his talented and enthusiastic team, did a miracle clean, re-set the memory core and just plain got it working like it used to.
