  Always a swift response to my queries and if the product was not in stock got a same day reply as to when it would be available. Ordered the wrong product last purchase and it was replaced with the correct item within 4 days. Service Quality second to none.   I recently invested in a Canon EOS 5DS R and selected Murphy's Outlet after seeing their very positive reviews. I must say , I'm not disappointed. From the time of first enquiry to recieving the (well packaged) product, the experience has been great. Andrew from Murphy's helped and guided me throughout the process, taking the time to patiently answer all my questions. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience and it shows with his genuine concern for the customer's needs whilst never pushing for sales. I highly recommend Murphy's Outlet!

  Courteous and friendly staff who take time to answer your questions, prompt replies to inquiries, fast shipping. I'm sorry to have not been able to visit the store (too far away) but I've placed phone orders with them 3 times in the past and will do so for my next purchase. I ended up with Murphy's Outlet when "B&H" in New York didn't want my business. They have been a pleasure to deal with. Recommended!

  The only place in New York to buy telescopes! Whether you want to see the galaxies or birds this is the place to buy your optical equipment. They have a very nice selection and are knowledgeable and will not try to oversell you. I strongly recommend Murphys Outlet.

  I visited this place twice last year. Let's just say that this store is a winning combination of photography & videography. I came in two days ago because I needed an adapter for my camera to connect to a MacBook and figured it would be faster and more convenient to buy it locally rather than online. I was in for a VERY pleasant suprise. Andrew knows his stuff! He demonstrated a deep knowledge ranging from camera sensors to lenses and took all the time it needed to show and explain to me what result I could expect from different camera configurations. (Mounts/Filters/lenses Guidance/etc.) I had him quote me a complete system, it was right in my budget and I was more than happy leaving the store with a very nice setup. Rental prices are quite good and they have a great selection of new and used products. I can only say good things about this place. I'm a happy customer and I will most likely purchase again from this store in the foreseable future.

  Things were a little slow at first but once the shipment details got sorted out everything went like a dream. The Advanced VX (AVX) 11" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope arrived almost 1 week early, which for a delicate shipment to Brazil was unbelievable. Andy sorted out everything brilliantly. He even managed to give me some advise after arrival. On the structure they hide the Collimation screws under a plastic cover and then provide no explanation in any of the manuals or on-line information as to how to access them. Price also can't be beat. I checked almost every supplier on Amazon US and Amazon UK as well as E-Bay and he had the best deal.

  Always welcomed by competent and available salespeople. The material is usually available to take it in hand. The used beam is also a bigger one. But good. They have fully understood how to counter websites and they do it successfully. I recommend without reservation!

  I have been a customer for almost 3 years, a bit by chance following the purchase of a used Leica lens. The person who deals with Leica is a real passionate about the brand and is really good advice, he did not hesitate to advise me a goal cheaper than what I originally intended (while other stores wanted sell me a model still above in range and price!) and he was really right, so I bought the eyes closed and I'm 100% satisfied. since then, I have also bought other Leica material (new and used) but also my Canon (always with the same seller because even if he is the specialist Leica, he knows Canon as well). ransom of success, they are sometimes a little speed when there are a lot of people in the store, but the service, advice and atmosphere is well worth a little wait. I dealt with the service through them and frankly I am very satisfied. I had material on loan pending the return of mine and while my warranty was exceeded in recent weeks, my commercial and the lady who handles the after sales have managed to get my box under warranty. they behave with me as if I were one of their pro customers when I'm just a hobbyist. I recommend this address without problem.

  Reseller photo (official supplier Canon & Nikon, among others) the most reliable. I have been buying from them since 2007. Returns Service, advice ... Everything is nickel and pro at home: a true reference in the service. It's rare so take advantage of it and take a walk in the store (their website is a new gateway to Online orders, it's a great feature)

  I’ve purchased lenses for my journalism/ broadcasting and it was part of an international procurement.   I used all of the Leica stores, but over the last 7 or 8 years have done most of my business with The Murphy's Outlet Camera. Stock a full compliment of Leica, Zeiss and Voightlander M-fit lenses, as well as new bodies, Q and Q2, in the last year I've bought M6 and M3 in pristine condition not seen elsewhere at good prices and they handle almost all my disposals, many very fast.   Another beautiful place to go shopping (window) along with an educational experience and a gift shop with not only photo related items but some very intricate 17 18 th century by the local Native American people. I think that the level of workmanship is second to none.

  Straightforward, un-condescending, and down to earth service. The proprietor is highly knowledgeable, and will not nickle and dime his customers to death. He understands that a little bit of service up front will buy tremendous amounts of loyalty down the line. I will not go anywhere else but here for anything photo related.   The best for the beginner or seasoned amateur photographer or anyone who needs a serious camera. The staff is extremely knowledgable, helpful and not out to make a quick sell. I had an old Hasslebad that they were able to advise me on and did not even suggest I get rid of it and give them a bunch of money for a new device. They are genuinely interested in happy customers and want to advance the cause of photography.

  First time I walked into Murphy's Outlet shop I thought I was in optical heaven! But there is a lot more photography equipment here than just cameras, along with some other unusual items and videography stuff for sale (books, too).. I've purchased a number of items from Murphy's Outlet and have always been very happy with both his prices and the quality of the merchandise he offers (mostly used equipment).

  I purchased a camera and a lens a while back but forgot to rate them. The Customer Service was phenomenal I phoned the store to ask if they had a certain camera chassis and they didn’t have it in stock but told me that I can get it sent to me but I’m an impatient man. They told me that if were to come tomorrow, they would have it in stock. Later I went and bought the camera with its accessories included. I asked for a particular lens too. Unfortunately they don’t have it in stock but told me that they can have it sent to me, now they gave me a special price that I just couldn’t refuse so I agreed it and got sent to me a few days later. I was so pleased and greatly thankful to this company. In my dealings in my old camera and got a good offer for it so, that I can buy more equipment for my camera. I award 5 stars to the service and professionalism.

  Awesome, I bought a new Lumix and they had the same price as online retailers. "Top it all", as you get all the knowledge and help that true professionals have, not some "high student" that thinks they know it all....sorry, just stating the facts.   The staff are very excellent and know are very educated in all the aspects of photography and cameras. I brought an old camera in and they showed me the basics on operating it and had a great deal on film. They also will develop a roll and put it on a DVD for you for less than ten bucks. Great place, won't ever take my camera anywhere else.

  Murphy's Outlet guys are awesome! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and for the excellent quality and service, they are quite affordable. They have old and new equipment, which they can refurbish too, unless it is ancient equipment and there are no parts available. I love vintage photography equipment, and they have lots of it! Lots of it!! All functioning, tested, and clean! Even better, they will take the time to talk to you and won't rush you. I like being around people who love photography, so I would just come here to shoot the breeze......if they would let me. I don't know anywhere in town where you can buy a functioning items with a 6 month warranty. If it breaks after the 6 months, they have knowledgeable, skilled staff to fix it. So whether you shoot digital, or you're a DSLR shooting on your Fujifilm, or both....check these guys out.

  Bought a Fujifilm camera, had few issues with it when I got home .   I walked in with absolutely zero knowledge and wanting to buy a camera for my boyfriend's birthday. These guys we're so great helping me start from the bottom and narrowing down which type, size, and brand might be best for him. I had done some research online (mostly read product reviews), but I'm so glad I got these guys expertise before I would've gone and purchased something silly. They are continuing to grow their product lines, but already carried some quality products, including vintage style gear, second hand cameras, lenses, new cameras, digital cameras and other camera equipment and ... even beginner setups to get you started. And, of course, a bunch more. The owner was really friendly, offering solid advice, and making sure to ask questions to point you in the right direction. Overall, I loved this shop. I wish it was closer to me so I could visit again. (I'm sure my bank account thanks me, though! 😄)

  Their customer support after the sale is superb and Andrew intervened with manufacturers more than once on my behalf when I was having trouble getting a product repaired. When my Leica camera needed repair under their lifetime Passport warranty the woman at Leica USA said, "We are going to have a problem" when she found out I had neglected to send in my warranty doc. Rather than argue with her and waste my time I brought the product back to Murphy's Outlet, Andrew made one phone call to Leica, he shipped them out, and in six weeks I received them back from Leica good as new. I was a nobody to Leica, Andrew made one call and it turned into a smooth transaction.

  When I was first entering astronomy as a fan after several decades as a binocular cosmologist I bought my first SCT, a Celestron C11, from Murphy's Outlet. They sent a couple back to Celestron before accepting mine, and when I picked it up from their shop they helped me set it up, showed me how to collimate it, and then took it out of collimation and had me collimate it on their artificial star a couple of times until I was comfortable with it. This is a service I would not have received had I just purchased it off the internet and it shortened my learning curve considerably.

  Since 10 years ago, I have purchased several cameras from Murphy's Outlet, as well as several mounts, and various photo accessories. I have found their service OUTSTANDING --before and AFTER the sale. Andrew and his staff are always ready to help with professional suggestions. When my 130mm f/8 AP refractor's lens was damaged by the city's humidity, Andrew used a high tech cleaning process to make it as good as new! And he gave me suggestions on how to protect the lenses in the future. I cannot praise Murphy's Outlet highly enough.

  A small but intense store dedicated to Photography. Its display is much larger than the camera section of B&H flagship store in New York. The people are knowledgeable and take an interest in talking to you, to answer your queries.   I have been working with Murphy's Outlet, on and off, for many years. They have provided lenses and services to our business as well as myself as an amateur photographer. This may be one of the last brick and mortar stores were you can see a large inventory / museum of an unimaginable array of optics and equipment. Andy, Jonathan and company are top tier experts.   I was trying to decide between 2 products and wanted to purchase something for my husbands birthday. This was his first birthday after losing his mother who always made it a very special day filled with the perfect gifts, a lot of pressure for me! I had an appointment with Andrew and told him about the 2 products I was looking at. He explained everything clearly and was very informative and knowledgeable. He asked questions and really invested himself in getting to know what our needs/wants were and made sure I left with the perfect camera. He was incredibly friendly and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs help.   Amazing I find that store in the city(thanks to Andrew Rusell, they have everything I need for photography. Right now I switched to Nikon D3500 and they got it all. Good selection of lenses and accessories. I m super happy I can go and test all the gear I wanted to buy, it make a difference. Very friendly professionals working there. Most of the gear in the past I would buy in B&H or Adorma, since they have all I need right in my backyard and they match the prices, no need for me to wait for shipping and wondering if I got it right.   I was looking for the Nikkor 6mm f/5.6 (Fisheye Nikkor aka The Holy Grail) all over the US and couldn’t find it anywhere.   Murphy's Outlet store it is the best store/school in southern NYC without a doubt, you will find a reliable and high train team of people that will help you how ever they can! But the store offers more than that, they offer the opportunity to everyone to become part of the great community of professionals/amateur photographers.   I purchased the off-camera TTL cord Canon's OC-E3 (from another retailer) but could not make it work. I sent it in to Murphy's Outlet and they fixed it, sent it back to me (at their cost) and it works fine now. They even sent extra more elaborate manuals so I know how to sync them together, for now and the future. Very impressed with the detailed service; they deeply care about customer satisfaction, which I highly respect in a local company.

  Last time I checked (has been a while), this was "the" cameraland store in the main Street Area. They carry good amateur cameras (not the junk you see elsewhere) with a reasonable selection of name brands, though not so much high-end and specialty gear. Staff is knowledgeable. If you are getting started and want good advice along with equipment that will actually work in a useful way, you owe yourself a trip here. (I can't really speak to their service level, but Murphy's Outlet makes me pick something).

  Very knowledgeable staff. This is far from home. Sadly I live in the Brooklyn Bay but anytime I'm in the city for work I stop in and get everything I need. It never feels like they are trying to sell me anything. They are just as happy to talk cameras and the stars as they are to help you find exactly what you need. Murphy's Outlet is great, and their own brand is top notch and reasonably priced.

  The assistant there was very helpful. Even though I told him I'm not going to buy immediately, he gave me pointers about photo meetings I should attend before deciding what I should buy.   This is WHY shopping locally is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Or else you'll make a purchase that you later regret. Andy was awesome. I have never had a really smooth camera shopping experience before. I came in with a deal I found on their website. He beat the price then asked what I would be using the camera for. He was super patient listening to my answers of his questions. Once he knew what I was shooting he showed me the camera I came in for and the next one up. We discussed at length the pros and cons of both set ups. I chose the next one up as it would be a camera I would not need to replace for a very long time. Andy explained everything about the camera in simple, easy to understand language. He had me take the camera home and charge it. He made me an appointment to come back with the battery fully charged and the pictures I bought the camera for. When I return ready to go, Andy will show me everything I need to know. Andy also let me know he would always being able to help me with any questions.

  Andy was very knowledgeable, polite, and had a great sense of humor. I called NIKON about my camera lens, they said it would be $100 to look at it and more to fix it, or they have a rep on the phone ready to see about upgrading my current camera. What a racket, they don't even want to fix it, just sell you another camera? Andy quoted me $70 and fixed it as he said, and has probably forgotten more about cameras than most shops know about them. A true asset to the community and he could have charged double and I would still have been glad to give him my money.

  Wallet-friendly price for excellent piece of work done pretty quickly. In my case it was cleaning of a sticky shutter from an old (Graflex Crown Graphic) camera. The owner has an ironic sense of humor that you don't expect and which may rub some people the wrong way (based on my interpretation of certain Google reviews) but he is truly a charming gentleman.

  Murphy's Outlet are awesome! Excellent customer service, really, even cameras that weren't released yet, they call me back as soon as they get them, and ship them super fast. I got my Panasonic Lumix GH-5 on release day from them, and today I received my package.   I was in the NYC for work, and had the NIGHTMARE of toppling my camera over. The lens had a heck of a bad fall, so I decided to take it to Murphy's Outlet. The service there was incredible, not only was I able to nurse my lens through as much as possible back to life. But I was given some great tips, and I felt better about myself despite not being from Canada. Was an excellent experience. Very helpful. 10/10
