  Excellent general purpose lens for casual photography This Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 is a relatively short lens that allows you to carry the camera and lens in a big pocket and is not too obtrusive in use. Good optics. Well build.

  Couldn't wait to get my Canon EOS RP camera from 42nd photo. Great camera. All I needed as an advanced amateur. I was able to take amazing pictures of my daughters high school graduation. It was just as they were listed on the website. Will definitely use this company again and refer people to this website.

  A little disappointed that the right angle finder I purchased based on the information on the 42photo site that stated that it would fit all Fuji X bodies, did not fit my mirrorless body. Of course 42nd blamed me for not researching it more. Oh well. Sad they would not cover return shipping because of their mis-info.

  Pretty good I ordered a camera body and a lens, both used, and both came in excellent condition. I was NOT pleased that the camera came with a third party battery/charger and without a camera strap, but the items were in the condition advertised otherwise.

  I received this Evostar 72mm ED APO a few months ago and I already have taken photos of Orion nebula that were better than any before. Baby stars were well shaped and no color fringing noticed at all. Really quality glass lens and the entire unit is well made. Looking forward to buying a larger version later on in the year. 42nd Photo is the best.

  42nd PHOTO is always a pleasure to do business with however FedEx is an absolute shocker to deal with. Had to spend 2 hours on the phone while they tried to locate my package. FedEx will prevent me from doing business in the future with 42nd Photo unless another shipping company can be used

  This Nikon Z 6ll with 24-70mm f4 lens and FTZ Adapter Kit is awesome! Being able to adapt all of my older Nikkor lenses is incredibly great. The camera and adapter arrived promptly when available, thanks to 42nd's good service.

  Waited 3 months for 42nd PHOTO to have Tasco Essentials binos in stock. They became available the day 42nd PHOTO said they would. Not surprisingly, the big A. matched their price the day 42nd PHOTO had them, but 42nd PHOTO still offered extras and their shipping was super fast. Perfect binoculars for my needs.

  Your delivery company lets you down Since 42nd PHOTO has changed from using DHL next day delivery service to Fedex using their service is disappointing. Next day delivery with FedEx has failed more times than it has succeeded for me , such a shame. This is the only thing that lets 42nd PHOTO down. Your prices are great and customer service is good. Please bring back DHL as my courier always got my order to me on the next day.

  Pro Quality for Macro Photography I've always been fascinated with the macro world of video photography. The Vello extension set was purchased to use with my Panasonic Lumix camera and I am very pleased with this choice. They are well built and snap onto the lens and to the camera perfectly. They were in the middle of the pricing range but I see no reason to pay more as these seem to be very professional and sturdy enough to give years of good service with Micro 4/3 lines.

  Customer service could be better I understood the terms and conditions and return policy of the company, however, it would have been nice to have discussed the item, (of which they only had 1). I was also considering buying a lens filter/protector. Because it was a Saturday, there was no live chat or person answering the telephone when I rang. The store was shown as being open. The telephone switched to answer phone and as prompted I left a message with my contact number for someone to call back. I sincerely thought someone would do that, even if it was by the end of that day. I appreciate store staff could be busy. Sadly, a week later there has not been any contact. I did make the purchase of the lens, but decided to buy a filter from another seller. In short, if you have an answerphone and request details so you can call the customer back, then do it! The item was packaged well and arrived promptly. Customer experience let down by a lack of customer service.

  I bought this E-M5 Mark III camera and the lens as a kit because of the discount that was offered for buying the body and the lens together. As of now I have been able to take only few pictures with this camera kit, but I am already impressed by the sharpness of the pictures that this kit has produced, in spite of my extant belief that kit lenses are inferior.

  Great camera, great service. purchased the Canon 80d from 42nd PHOTO and received the Manfrotto monopod 679b with a 234rc ballhead which came free. Have purchased other items including the hahnel tuff and canon batteries, all genuine articles.I would happily recommend them and will be returning. Service was excellent.

  I ordered the original BMPCC and I love it. It is better in every way and since it has a MFT mount that means I don't have to buy any new lenses (which would have been a deal breaker for me). BMPCC has a number of different codecs you can shoot in including apple pro res. Blackmagic has vastly superior color science behind that impressive sensor.

  Great offer on Fuji X-T30 kit and telephoto lens. However, as I was needing it for a trip, I paid extra for a 2 day delivery but received the items after six days (even allowing an extra day for a bank holiday) Also, I love when my orders arrive well packed but the box was absolutely HUGE for such small items and so the excess space was filled with plastic packing bubbles

  Syrp 82mm VND Filter kit but my Tiffen variable ND works better. I get strange hour glass shadows in the center of the image. I would love to upload an example, but all I get is time out when trying to attach a JPEG file. I am going to contact Syrp for their input & feedback.

  Everything I Ever Wanted I have the Nikon D5600 and made the jump to the D7500 and it is wonderful! Easy to learn, very professional camera. I love the 5600 but the 7500 is over the top. The feel of the 7500 is great and the price from 42nd PHOTO is wonderful. Their customer service is great, don't settle for less. These cameras come from the US, no guesses or chances with 42nd PHOTO. Professional and tried and true.

  Bought second hand telephoto and macro lenses for Canon online. Both lenses in immaculate, superb condition. Got good advice from the chat service. Delivery of telephoto was fine, I paid for next day delivery on the macro, DHL hadn't delivered by 5pm and on phoning 42nd PHOTO they assured me my postage would be returned if the lens didn't arrive that day. Luckily the lens came soon after the call, 4hrs later than DHL had advised would be the delivery slot (not 42nd Photo's fault). All in all, extremely happy with the service. Thank you.

  Lot's in terms of lenses, and Cameras, tripods, rucksacks. But, very little in the way of sundries like cleaning materials. Situated in the edges of Manhattan, so it's a bit of a trek if you are coming from West NYC. Good, if you want a hands on try of equipment.

  The Sigma 24-70mm art lens is very good but in my opinion, the sharpness is better on the Sony. I always order my gear from 42nd PHOTO, the only authorized retailer of Sigma US.

  Lovely store with large selection of high quality supplies. I was there for an open house event and so got to talk to a Fujifilm pro that was super kind, as well as a representative for tripods and shoulder/wrist straps.   Matterport MC250 Pro2 Professional Camera It definitely takes some getting used to. 42nd PHOTO shipped it very quick and secure. The batter life is so much better with the Matterport tours, could not be happier! 42nd PHOTO always has them in stock, and is the only place in NYC where you can pick one up locally. The square trade insurance is great too

  We were assisted by Jonathan Huckabee at the 42nd PHOTO store yesterday purchasing a camera for professional use in a dental practice. We’re relatively new to photography but needed expertise before investing in expensive professional equipment. Jonathan was exceptionally helpful and answered every question we had, assisting us for hours to find exactly what we needed.   Pentax K70 with 18-135 zoom le I have purchase cameras and related equipment from 42nd PHOTO for close to 40 year and have had only good experiences with all of my orders. My latest was a Pentax K-70 kit which arrived in four day from the time of the order date. 42nd PHOTO's kit made the purchase even more appealing. I love the upgraded strap and the case that came with it. Thank you!

  Great workshop on introductory video with James Higgins for new filmmakers and the video-curious and a cinematic documentary class with Jonathan Huckabee. James has been especially super-helpful in helping me build the ultimate ultra-portable budget camera kit, taking his time to teach me how to make the most of my new equipment. A good Hollywood friend comes here often and I am so glad I found them. Highly recommended and the best place for good advice from their filmmaking staff and gear (also, check out their used department) at extremely fair prices.

  off brand items a problem This purchase is because the SLR Adapter that came with my Celestron X-Cel LX 3x Barlow lens failed within less than a month. And then I was told I had to deal with a third party to address that problem. So, easy to spend money and quick delivery, but off-brand not necessarily good quality.

  Lensbaby Velvet 28mm f/2.5 42nd PHOTO made this purchase very simple - great service. The Velvet 28mm is my first Lensbaby - well constructed and performs optically as desired - beautiful glow when the aperture is opened up. I also purchased the Burnside 35mm, Obscura 22mm, Omni and few optics for my Composer II. I've been very happy with 42nd photo and Lensbaby products.

  Be wary of ordering from this company. I placed an order which was due to be delivered in one to four working days, according to 42nd St PHOTO. Five days later they contacted me to say the item was out of stock. "I apologize that we are currently not stock linked" an employee said. So there's no guarantee what you order is actually in stock. I won't be using them again.

  Awesome sturdiness built in lightweight support. I was looking for a monopod that I could use for product photos and for moon photos. Most of the monopods that I have used are very flexible. This Oben ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod is very stiff. Customer Service at 42nd PHOTO were very helpful in helping me select this monopod.

  Fast shipping, great product Kit came in quick, no hassle with shipping. Canon EOS RP camera works perfectly fine straight out the box, battery has no issues either. The 24-105mm is a great kit lens, definitely happy I went with this kit over the individual body an individual lens.

  Slow cancellation process; and cancelled wrong order Their checkout is slow on the cancellation process unlike ADORAMA which does it instantly. I specified in the action button to cancel it. Confused and not sure if I cancelled the item or not, I sent them an e-mail to make sure they receive the cancellation order order on that item. They cancelled the wrong item that has a long wait time to ship out because of backorder. Their reason was that I didn't specify even though it should've been obvious which one I wanted cancelled. I'm just used to Adorama's prompt reply, and cancellation process so this will need getting used to I suppose. I'm thinking their staff and people are lot smaller and they do not work around the hour checking e-mail.

  I have a Nikkor 24-70 2.8 and a 16-35 3.5 and have had no problems with the Tiffen 72mm lens ND filter combination. It seems a good bundle for land- and seascape.

  Easily modified my order I ordered a more Fujifilm GFX 100S Medium Format Mirrorless Camera released on July 2021 because the one I wanted was on backorder and I needed a new camera now. Shortly after I placed my order, the GFX 100S I wanted became available. I was able to easily cancel the order' and order the newer one I wanted.

  I just bought the Lowepro Pro Trekker 350 AW II for my camera and two lenses, and the extra stuff we all collect. There is a space left over for a third adapted Nikkor 50 f1.4 and a couple of smaller compartments. Very rectangular space inside. You don't lose usable space from rounded corners or overhanging outer panels. The whole inner space is there when you open the zipper. Highly configurable, holds a small laptop. Straps and a cup for a smaller tripod in several positions. The zippers are effortless. I wanted a compact kit for hiking and moving around industrial sites. This fits the bill. As my lens collection grows, I'll probably move up to the 450AW II for more room, but for now I'm very happy with this pack.

  My first experience of purchasing new pro gear from this vendor. I chose them because I wanted to support an independent business and their website conveyed a sense of pride in providing excellent customer service. I felt reassured by their ethos, plus the two year extended warranty and information on how any repair would be undertaken. The extra warranty is a plus point when investing in an expensive pro lens. $100 discount off the Canon USA Products standard price too. Further reassurance was felt when I learnt the courier company was FedEx. The item arrived very well packaged and protected and the lens box was sealed. I received a follow up email with invoice/warranty guarantee. All-in-all a positive buying experience. And now for some fun with my new piece of glass 📷

  After much research I have just bought a Canon 90D and a Canon 100-400 mk 2 lens from the 42nd PHOTO and have to say they seem first class, the web site is clearly laid out and after I purchased the equipment late on Friday night it all arrived very very well packaged on Monday morning, I received an email as soon as I bought it saying exactly what would happen next and after delivery I received another email from Chris following up the order and gave me details of how to contact her if there was any issues. The camera and lens are in perfect condition and I am on very happy. They were also over $400 cheaper than the rest with an extra warranty. I highly recommend this company on my experience and would definitely use them again.

  Best Staff and very competitive prices I am a customer since 2006, my first purchase was Sony A7R from this store. Second one was Sony GM lens, then extension tubes. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, understand the customer needs once we explain the requirements. I highly recommend these stores and the website. Rates are very competitive.   Thank You for the Exemplary Service In November 2021, I purchased a fully functional secondhand Olympus OM Zuiko 35mm f/2.8 lens from 42nd PHOTO at a reasonably fair price, when compared to the exorbitant prices on eBay. The item's condition was described correctly by the online shop and the Click & Collect service managed to deliver it from NY to my local Manhattan branch in good time.   I tried these as they had the Nikon 28-300 VR that I have been after, I placed order on website yesterday afternoon at 42nd Photo (Manhattan) had one, by 5ish I received email it has been dispatched and arrived today at 10:30am.
