  Needed a Sony battery in a pinch - staff was helpful recommending against off brand. Store has a surprisingly big selection of stock across the board of bags, gear, accessories. They also host workshops.

  Great store, amazing variety of product and inventory. The service was excellent, they gave me great advise on the product I was looking for and even helped me with the add-ons and to set everything up. I bought my first complete photography set and I will definitely keep coming back to get the best products from this store.

  With the new ownership they've really spiffed the place up. It's very pleasant and attractive to walk in. They've really increased and focused the inventory. Lots of useful things real photographers need on the fly. It's my go to place in New York.

  I purchased a Sony G master 70-200mm lens and they had to order which was no big deal, but then they took it to the next level and let me take home a rental lens until mine came in FOR FREE. Completely mind blowing. Great inventory and an extremely polite and informative staff.

  Store has an extensive amount of inventory. Staff are quite friendly and knowledgeable. Did not feel rushed at all and had plenty of questions to ask. It's also very modern and clean. If you have any kind of camera needs I recommend this store over any of the larger stores that only have a camera section. Example is Best Buy I only had about 8 lens filters, this store had about a hundred or more.

  Excellent little local camera shop with a good selection of accessories and used lenses and cameras with highly knowledgeable shopkeepers. They're always really helpful here and often do some pretty neat deals. You can trade in or sell of camera lens' here too.

  Great range of new and second hand cameras and lenses, plus everything from a roll of film to a new bag. An excellent shop run by helpful and friendly people. Bought a canon 6D today plus an amazing lens for a decent price. Very helpful and honest advice. Will be back and will definitely recommend! Love this shop!

  Bought a used lens there and the staff member told me they'd dropped the price online and subsequently reduced price to match their website for me, included a lens case for free and found me a suitable second hand filter at a very reasonable price to get me by. Very friendly service and went out of his way to help! I'd definitely go back.

  Excellent service.makes me want to start using film again. Cannot recommend Willoughby's Cameras enough. The staff are friendly and helpful, they have a huge range of film and second hand cameras, after sales support and general advice is excellent. Drop in for a chat and pick up some great kit with confidence.

  New York is lucky to have a shop like this! The prices for used camera equipment are high, but their after sales service is excellent and the staff have a really good attitude regardless of why you're in there. Recommended to someone who is unsure of getting into using film or a new format.

  Excellent small independent camera shop. Specializes in second hand gear but does have some new gear. Large selection of film cameras for those that want this. Does some excellent photo lab services. Gives fair prices on part exchange digital gear. Brought from them a few times and always been very happy. Does repairs.

  Stopped by Willoughby's Cameras on a weekend away in New York. I Walked in to a customer buying their first digital camera, the advice and knowledge being given to this person by the staff was amazing and was all well explained. I also managed to treat myself to a medium format film camera that I have fallen in love with. Amazing store, these guys know what they are talking about! Would love to visit again!

  The staff know what they are talking about and will quite happily spend half an hour with someone and sell them a modest compact camera if that is all they really need. Unlike a lot of camera shops they are not condescending to those with a nodding acquaintance of photography so if you know nothing don't worry, you will not be ripped off. If you just want to see what the latest top of the range Nikon or Canon camera is like before buying it from New York don't waste your time going, they can spot you a mile off and you won't get much help.

  Great experience. Bought a used camera body and lens with part exchange of some lenses I no longer use. I got a fair price for my lenses and paid a fair price for the new body and lens. The staff know their subject well and they are trying to do their best for the customer - they saved me $95 on a Nikon upgrade. I've bought from them before and will do so in future.

  I’ve dealt with Willoughby's for a few years now for all my Pentax needs. I’ve bought new cameras and used cameras, I’ve bought lenses and I’ve also used them for sensor cleaning. I’ve never had a single problem with them and the gentleman that I’ve always dealt with called Andy has always been totally professional and dealt with any questions I had quickly and comprehensively, even going out of his way to arrange a firmware update on a lens where he had no need to do so. Stock levels are excellent for Pentax and the prices extremely competitive and delivery of items is rapid and as I’ve said before the customer service is second to none. Give them a go, I cannot speak highly enough of them

  Amazing retail experience guys really know their stuff and never pressured into buying. My favorite camera shop. The prices are good the stock is first class and the staff are helpful and friendly, plus rarely in retail these days they know their subject. But Willoughby's employees unpack their product without looking lost in a mass of merchandise. They're a perfect shopping guide to put your trust in.

  Great pricing and excellent product! Nice all-around camera shop. Can have pictures developed there, purchase from a wide variety of cameras, and also they offer classes on how to use your camera. Service was in 2 days & they completed the job earlier than stated.There has never been a time I've gone into willoughby's Camera and they haven't gone out of their way to help me out!   Great place for film development and cool/knowledgeable staff. They were equally helpful in the choosing of a lens to rent, and their prices are always fair. I bought my Camera there.. very helpful, and zero pressuring. But the guy knew a lot about cameras.. They can also print any picture on just about anything! I have a collection of pictures were taken on my Canon I bought there.

  I have rented a few things from Willoughby's and have had a very positive experience. The staff there is very helpful. I typically communicate with Andy, the manager, and he is just great. He is able to work with other employees to get gear in house on time for shoots. Very knowledgeable and can answer any of your questions. Very happy to go to a camera store that is not crammed, has parking, and doesn't have noisy surroundings. The only place in town with such a nice character to it... but I like how clean, newly renovated, organized or not jam packed any day over a little character. Highly recommend!

  Drove down from West Albany over an hour away. First time in store, and explained I shoot mostly runners. Moving up from Nikon D7100 and wanted to stay Nikon. I was looking at either the D500 or D850. Andy listened to my needs, and didn’t try to up-sell me on the camera body. Both were in my budget. We saved enough to buy a great lens. After using it at three scenarios, I now realize how his advice was spot on. I had really done my research and knew the prices were very fair. I also bought a few accessories and probably paid a little more, but his advice was so valuable to me. For the first time ever, I have parents asking me what I’m doing different. They love the shots, especially the ones under the street lights.

  If you are into photography at all, this is the place to be. From the moment you walk into the gorgeous, early 18th century piece of architecture, you feel like you have entered a different world. Very helpful, informative, and accommodated our last minute arrival, and amateur questions.As sad as it is to say great service is all too rare. This stores staff is the exception. If you want amazing customer service and fantastic prices…look here first. You won’t be sorry! Absolutely great experience. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be coming back.

  When you first walk in, it's a more sensational walking in this plateau of a camera Silicon Valley and it's worth it. The room is big and filled with new and old photography gear. Everyone is EXTREMELY sweet and helpful. I went in to get a tripod for my photography class and they broke things down so I could understand. You can tell they're jut starting off, but with their business skills they're going places. The person that helped me was wearing a Nikon brand shirt and was super helpful. I would recommend it to everyone of all experiences.

  I found the employees here very helpful and patient they know where the items were that they were selling that we supposed to be in stock at the store. I have to drive around twenty miles away to get to this precious shop. At the end of the day I got some good products and great tech help if and when I need it along with a really good warranty from WILLOUGHBY'S as well. So if you dont have alot of free time to drive around I would order online to save some time.

  Went here to buy a Fujifilm X-T30, nothing fancy just a extra one for mainly mirrorless systems. The sales person was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know. We are 100% satisfied with this location.I always love Willoughby's. The non-commissioned salespeople are great and VERY knowledgeable! Great products and they offer protection plans for almost everything!

  Great people, and nice selection of Canon products. I purchased a hard-to-find lens (which was not in stock on B&H and Adorama), and case. Was helped immediately by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a concern about a lens that I didn't purchase there working poorly on my current camera. They asked me to bring it in, and we mounted it on a body I was considering purchasing, and the issue was resolved. Very great experience for me. Will certainly shop there again.

  I attended WILLOUGHBY'S Customer Appreciation day on a Thursday and their Black Friday deals were too tempting for me to leave the shop empty handed. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The class covered subjects such as Nikon configurations, Sigma lenses, portrait and landscape photography and the contrast between mirrorless and DSLR cameras was a premium of offerings. They have everything you could dream of. He was patient and knowledgeable with all my questions. I would absolutely recommend them and all the professional services they offer.

  Heavenly place, clean as hound's tooth and has a lot of professional equipment. They offer training another other things for amateurs. Prices might be a little higher then other retailers in the web but you get personable, face-to-face discussions unlike bots in amazon.

  From the average shooter to pros they carry it all from digital devices to old school film tools. Also check their used section theirs some top quality bargains. The staff are all pro photographers so it's worth a trip to understand what you will be buying. They also offers classes, hold events and collaborate with manufacturers to help you along.

And they were also knowledgeable when comparing two products that bear similar features. Excellent customer service, my photos were processed super quickly and the product was high quality.   You couldn't ask for better service at Willoughby's. What an amazing and friendly shopping environment. They continuously host events under the auspices of Nikon, Canon, Sony etc... all for free. they also offer prizes at some events. Great selection of cameras, Nikon, Sony, Fugi and Olympus. The knowledgeable staff can easily help you with any camera questions and/or selections to help you get just what you are looking for. They love photography and it shows. If you are looking for a camera store... look no further... go see the guys at Willoughby's. They are on 15-17 W 36th St, New York, and I live 1 hour drive away... I'm happy to make the drive to see them when I need camera gear.

  Willoughby's, I am so happy that I dropped by because all I had is a positive experience with your store. They really appreciated me bringing an incident that involved a camera I had bought previously. From Willoughby's inception to today, their number one goal is building and supporting the local photo community by providing a community space for photographers, offering free events and classes, and providing advice and recommendations to help photographers of any level capture the special moments in their lives. Nothing could be further from their goals than what I experienced, and I'm planning to rush back to pick up a few supplies soon.

  Always an, unforgettably amazing service! Being a professional photographer, it's hard to find a place that will satisfy you with punctuality, efficiency and reliability, but this place is way ahead of its rivals. Even if a lens is more expensive here than on amazon or B&H, you get great service and can expect to have a feasible backup plan in case your gear fails without a fault of your own.

  Willoughbys is a specialty camera store that develops 35mm color or B&W film. Hello, there--you will love their B&W film development. I strolled the store for an hour, with being located in New York city with the lack of laxity of space, they were able to install a darkroom at the time when film was all rage in the 80s. I appreciate all the help and will keep it under consideration if we ever need to buy anything under your roof. - Karen

  A small camera shop with a significant local footprint in the photography world. Extensive sigma glass inventory, used camera options, and a respectable film stock. If you're in New York and have photographic needs, make efforts to visit this shop to get value for your hard-earned money. But they've pricey cameras for the deep-pocketed lot!

  I really appreciate the customer help and support of our small startups here in the United States. They sold me a Canon EOS RP, its a pretty sweet camera--Willoughbys will be excited to see what I do with it! I stopped by and showed them some pictures later. I left with a free sensor cleaner and more wisdom to utilize my camera that I'm always looking for an excuse to go there.

  The staff is really friendly and helpful to answer any questions regardless of the type of camera you dream to own. It's essential to be able to physically experiment with the equipment while you are there to see the results with various lenses and with the variety is excellent whether you need new or used lenses or bags, lighting, or albums/frames and accessories. The service is fantastic whenever I've been in and they even have workshops for honing your skills.

  I milk the most excellent service here. They have super knowledgeable staff who can always answer my questions. And their turnaround time and quality for photo lab services is always upbeat in the magic of photography. You do pay a few more bucks here than you would online but its totally worth the peace of mind knowing your product is exactly what you want.

  Aaaaaaa!!!. Willoughby's is best of the best. I can write nothing else about my favorite camera shop, the only one I go to if I have any problems that I think I affects my camera. Silvio, who I always work with or any of the guys know what they are doing and always, always help me when I need it; and, they let me in on a little secret about my camera that I didn't know which was helpful again. I will definitely be back there.

  Willoughby's is a real camera store. Under the hood, there's a print lab for digital or film printing. They support onsite film development for 35 and 120. Their framer is a wizard and can help you even if you are on a budget. They also stock digital cameras more than film. Backdrops are available in muslin, fabric, paper rolls and even pop up styles. They have a full array of lighting equipment from Off Camera Flash (ocf) to studio and ring lights (both macro and studio/makeup). The tripod and bag walls usually have something for everyone. Don't forget the Pro Master section. Their 1 year warrenty that is consumer friendly is the best part. Best all round moment to date.

  I had a fantastic customer service experience at Willoughby's in New York. It has been years since I’ve had such outstanding service. Silvio was amazing, he took the time to thoroughly explain how to use features on my camera that applied to my usage. He helped me set up the application to communicate with my camera. He also dressed up my boy w/ screen protector and helped me with filters, and 2 cases. I needed so much help and he patiently assisted me. I have been telling everyone how wonderful Willoughby's is. Thank you again. We will continue to use Willoughby's from 1000 miles away for all of our printing and photography supplies needs.

  This is there best camera shop in town! Extremely professional and fast service, and with fair prices! Silvia is very knowledge and professional. The entire staff is professional, friendly and sell you the gear you need, not just the most expensive. Bought my new Canon 5D mark iv here. Got it for a great price for the camera and my trade in.   Willoughby's is the best place at the heart of New York for all of your photography needs. I am an advocate who loves buying from local business owners, and not only do you get a great value on products at Willoughby's, but the employees are professional and are willing to help you answer any questions. I ordered a GoPro a few months a ago and whenever I have a question about settings, lens' and etc. they are there to show me. You won't get that kind of service from buying online or any other retailer.

  This is an excellent service provided by cool folks. They have a pretty large variety - almost everything, one-stop photography shop. This place is unique in the area as they still carry film and accessories for vintage cameras. They carry hp5, portra, Fuji, Delta 100, sfx, and xp, medium format film and more. They also develop c41 instore and offer a nice selection of darkroom chemicals. If you are mostly interested in film, this is a nice spot. Honestly with this place the wonders never cease.

  Fabulously knowledgeable people here! They know everything that needs to be known about cameras and photography equipment. They are very helpful and informative, even when I'm not spending a dime there. Although, photographers can also get carried away there and spend their monthly income in seconds because the quality of equipment and cameras are all above par. Do your groundwork research online for 1 minute in and out shopping moment.

  Willoughby's is a top of the line camera store. They sell used/new camera equipment. I come here for a comprehensive professional lab onsite service for digital or film development. They equally render video transfer service. Willoughby's also provides photography services for special events, business events and product photography. They can give free estimates for photo restorations.

  It's a striking camera shop cast in the same mold as Apple shops. You may be mistaken to think your prints from a disposable camera have petered out and mutilated because they are prints from a low quality but the prints I got back from Willoughby's are just Spectacular. I have just combed through them again and am amazed by the richness and fidelity in hue for all prints. They did such an incredible job. Not only will I be taking all my disposable cameras to them but the prints are so magnificent I want to invest in disposable cameras in future. Really well equipped. The guys I spoke to were super nice and I was in and out of there in less than three minutes at drop off and pick up. Couldn't recommend more.

  I love Willoughby's! This is my one stop film shop. The quality in output is amazing. If you are wanting beautiful colors and crisp print this is the place. I have printed a other places like B&H for example and you can see a major difference.

  Willoughby's Camera has impressed me with every single transaction! Silvio and Jonathan are especially excellent and courteous and will do everything they can to get you taken care of. I bought a Fujifilm, a speedlight, proprietary batteries, sd cards, and lenses, and film, when I get around to shooting it. I recently went in to see if they could fix my speedlight after having a problem with it and they took immediate care of it. Better than ever now. Thanks Willoughby's team!

  Absolutely superb staff! As someone who shoots Nikon I love learning how I can walk in on any day and leave with exactly what I need without a pitching atmosphere. They also always answer any questions I have when new equipment hits their stores, or one of my lenses or bodies is giving me headaches. Also after I dropped my camera in a bathtub, they were able to fix it the very same day at a fair price! Love this store and highly recommend to anyone!

  I've bought expensive cameras from here and also got film created. Their internet interface for printing is above reproach with a lot of choices that you get if you go in and use their photo labs. Also, for equipment they will price match.

  This company is family owned and well managed. It's not a snob like Best Buy, or a B&H and they're proud of that simply because it means that you are likely working directly not only with somebody who cares about you as a person, but who also is a photographer or at least photo-enthusiast. I have bought 13 cameras and dozens of lenses from this company. I've dealt with their rentals department, their film department, and know all of the management simply from the amount of time I have spent inside and can say with absolute certainty that this company, let alone this store is a blessing to both me and my company. From the very top of Willoughby's on the corporate scale to the management of the store, the expectation is not only high customer service but a knowledgable staff and a capable film team. Although they don't have everything you need, they're well packed with pro-sumer and amateurs items.

  Posting on behalf of my wife. She went to the Willoughby's Store for help with some very old copies from our childhood attic. She needed quality digital images made, in order to fight for her rights for Structured Settlement Benefits that she was pursuing in a lawsuit. After hearing why she needed the digital images, they would not even let her pay for them! She purchased a memory card from their store, and they did not charge the services, because they wanted to support a US citizen and urgent needs. Thank you for your help to our servicemen and women!

  Shawn at Willoughby's, thanks for taking care of my friend when I sent him to you with only your business card! Clean job! It’s so nice to be able to trust in you guys to not try and sell him something more expensive just because you could get away with it. Recently, I bought the Sony a7III camera body (this one will kick it for me on the solar sidelines as well!) The mirrorless camera is so much dwarfed by and lighter than other cameras. My lens is a Tameron 28-75/mm F/2.8. It is amazing in lower light so it makes it a great flexible lens. (This entire system is much more compact and lighter than my Canon 7D MarkII/lens.)   Really appreciate the helpful, friendly staff at Willoughby's. I have used them quite a bit for film development, printing or enlarging photos. Silver is very helpful and professional with this, and the images I get back are excellent! They also work with my custom sizes and highlights to ensure I get the prints I'm looking for.
