  The GO-TO in Manhattan as a photog store. There is everything for the photographer whether amateur or professional. They maintain a very large inventory. Sellers are often passionate about photography and they are well trained. Family business from father to son (Wayfield family).

  WAYFIELD & SONs is an institution in downtown Manhattan, the employees are often very knowledgeable about their equipment and will help you find what you are looking for. Prices are not much more expensive than online stores, although some items can be found for less. But the customer service is second to none and in the event of a glitch the repair service saves your life.

  Attentive and personalized service every time. The sellers / advisers take the time to inform us well about the choice of equipment. They don't make it feel like they have to sell at all costs. They took the time to answer all of my 11 year old's questions in a way that was understandable for his age. I recommend this store to those who are passionate about photography and who want to be well advised to make the best choice.

  Mostly been using this TG-6 for underwater photography of marine fishes. This camera produces wonderfully detailed photos of small fish species! Love that it is completely waterproof and so tough as nails or old boots. I wish I would have had a camera like this my whole life. Excellent service, friendly and dedicated staff. Good choice of products, this is one of the best places for video and photography in New York.

  A mind-blowing selection of photography equipment and video. It is a bit more expensive than the competition but cons must admit that the service and excellent and there is really something for all tastes and all prices. They usually have everything in stock and know very well advised according to your needs. Passionate people.

  Best Purchase this year So glad I went with this used D5500 camera. It's my first DSLR, and it has just enough bells & whistles to take great photos without being overwhelming. Took it on a hiking trip & did not regret carrying it along. Lightweight & fast. Love it!

  Purchased the D5600 with 18-55 lens for shooting waterfowl. This is a good economical package. The only possible drawback would be having to boost the ISO to compensate for low available light during dawn and dusk. That said, with today's processors and sensor quality, it should not be much of a problem.

Buy this Sigma sd Quattro overseas for $1,500 (shipping included) and I got the fine lens Wayfield & Sons is selling for an additional $600 included with the camera.   Love the Leica 10x42 Ultravid binoculars tiny size and weight but super heavy perfect views edge to edge and lots of light. Easy and very ergonomic to use. Not an overly wide field of view but a crystal clear one. Colleagues with larger higher price binoculars I asked to compare were all truly amazed. Thanks WAYFIELD and Leica you're the best!

  I'm a landscape and nature photographer and I've been in search of a camera bag that would securely hold my camera gear and all of my lenses. And, I've got a shelf full of bags Id hoped would work out but didn't. The Thunderhead 75 accommodates everything, including my meaty Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. This might just be the last camera bag I ever need; meaning I can now donate all the other bags so as to clear our my closet shelves. Of course, I bought it from my go-to store...   I've bought a camera and lenses from Wayfield and Sons, they have always been very helpful. The other day i had a strange mark appearing on photos taken on my Sony a7R 4 and they found something incompatible had disjointed the shutter and they fixed it while I waited. I asked what it would cost and they said no charge. Excellent old fashioned caring service, keep it up!! (Deserves 6 stars)

  I purchased this M50 with the 15-45 kit lens. I have owned numerous digital cameras including ELPH and Rx10 over the years but this camera and lens combination probably is the best for travel. Lightweight and very responsive. Great colors, very customizable. The image stabilization is excellent!!! Would definitely buy again! Also, Wayfield & Sons is the best. !!! Wouldn't think of going elsewhere.

  Ordered a used Olympus OM-D E-M1X and lens via the Manhattan shop to be told that due to issues with their website, that it was no longer available. I was offered a discount on a new one but 1 week later, the 2nd hand one was still being advertised on their website.!! Still more than the price of the 2nd hand one though. Not sure if this is a ploy in their business strategy. I was then advised that it would be delivered on Tuesday but by Thursday, tracking advice still showed that it was awaiting collection. After I called to find out what was going on Craig at WAYFIELD &SONs organized a next day before 10:30am delivery which was completed, hence the 3 stars. The shop would get 1 star, less if possible for service. Products however are all good . This company certainly has issues and concerns me for future business.

  Surprisingly pleasant experience I have to admit, I was skeptical given the number of negative reviews. However my experience has been fine. Placed an order on Tuesday afternoon. The day after the status of the order changed from "pending" to "processing". There was no update on the website, however the item just arrived today (8/8/21). Only room for improvement really is in the communication around the state of the order. The current: "pending" -> "processing" -> nothing Leaves you feeling a bit lost and worried regarding the state of affairs. This is not helped by the poor reputation on their mother website.

  Astounding Camera!! This COOLPIX P1000 was bought for bird photography, particularly birds in flight. With the unexcelled autofocus and the high resolution it is far ahead of any competition. Expensive to be sure, but worth every dollar.

  I was a professional commercial photographer in the 70s and 80s. Today just an avid hobby for me. I was in the market for a pancake style lens and small footprint camera. Ordered the Leica CL from Wayfield. The camera is exactly what I expected. If you're going to shell out $3000+ on a Leica, I think you are going to do your research. You know the pros and cons. This Leica CL's small frame, the premium build quality, and the retro look outweighed the cons for me. The picture quality is great. I look forward to many years with this camera.

  Avoid if you can Bought a lens catolgued as "Like New" and it was really dusty on the inside and the structure of the lens was damaged too. First and last time. Also costumer service is the slowest I've ever seen.

  Ewa-Marine Undersea Housing This case is excellent and exactly as advertised. I was looking to protect my camera around windy, salt water beaches and while snorkeling. This case is perfect for those environments. I use it with my camera (5dmkii) and lens (24-70 2.8L). I have been able to manipulate the camera control fairly easily through the plastic. It is very easy to use, love that I can use it anywhere I go - very easy to pack up and quality is great! Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with the product and overall experience with these guys.

  I absolutely love this Voigtlander Color-Skopar 35mm f/2.5 lens. Inexpensive, this pancake is an awesome fit on a Leica. It well built, solid, but also lightweight. If I had limited money and had to invest in only one lens, it definitely would be in this one. Very efficient, very prompt dispatch, excellent choice of equipment, and a very informative website! Great!

  I am 75 yrs and love my photography but my condition doesn’t allow heavy DSLRs. The days of encumbering lenses are over for me. Wayfield & Sons came to my rescue as I did not want to throw lots of money down the drain to enable me continue and enjoy taking imaging. I was very confused when I approached them but they very communicative and friendly and patient. I traded in my old kit got a confirmed valuation the next day and the new camera choice deliver a day later. For a used camera it was in pristine condition and came with all its accessories. The after service checking on you is brilliant and we’re prepared to take it back if not satisfied. A great team If you want used equipment try Wayfield &Sons you won’t be let down

  Amazing zoom telephoto I rented the lens from an LA lens rental company. I was sufficiently, impressed to go ahead with the purchase. I ordered online from Wayfield &Sons.. and it took so long to get it, even though it showed in stock. Of course this didn't affect the lens. As soon as it arrived, I started testing and taking it out on the field. I use this lens strictly for wildlife, birds in flight and motor sports. The lens is almost permanently attached to my Sony A7Riv.

  POLSEN OLM-10 LAV MIC This is a great little tool for interview situations and a good mic for PC gaming or chatting. Great price, I love the lengthy cord as it gives you plenty of room to connect the mic to your recording device. Wayfield &Sons service was great and the product arrived right on time! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is the mic picks up alot of extraneous sounds. You need a very quiet area and it can even pick up sounds from adjacent room. The actual sound quality is ok.
