Verified reviewI have a cat that has a very picky intestinal tract. My vet and I have tried food trials and found that a prescription diet high in fiber seems to help the most. The only problem is that she didn't like the wet version. I tried several limited ingredient wet brands, but she wasn't having it. Another limited brand that had rabbit as its protein made her diarrhea worse. This one she actually eats and it doesn't seem to cause worsening of symptoms. She is not food motivated, so she only eats about 1/4 of a 3oz can at a sitting, so even though the 5.5oz are more economical, I get tired of having to heat up leftovers in order for her to eat it. My only complaint, besides the price, is it seems the 5.5oz cans are much more juicy than the smaller cans. She actually likes the larger can contents better, but I end up wasting too much. It would be great if the smaller size had just as much moisture as the larger. The texture is a little different too because of the moisture I assume.

Verified reviewDelivery was faster than I expected. So far so good on the quality. My allergic little cat went nuts for it immediately and has been eating it well. My only hope is that the rabbits slaughtered are treated humanely. I try to source from animal welfare conscious processors but I couldn't find much information about the source for Koha. Since rabbits do not thrive in poor environments and Koha has had no recalls or bad incidents I am assuming their rabbits are treated well before death.

Verified reviewProduct arrived quickly & well packaged. This was a sample of 3 cans of LID rabbit to see if my kitty would eat it. She eats 4x a day & I gave her this food for 1 meal each day. Other food she was turning her nose up, but the rabbit she always gobbled down. So, I have now ordered a case & we’ll she how she does on it.

Verified reviewI adopted two ~10 month old cats. One was a super picky eater straight out of the gate so it was hard to get him to eat enough. The other had a big appetite and wasn't picky but had chronic diarrhea and only prescription food seemed to calm it. I was able to switch from prescription to the kohapet pate without any more diarrhea issues and the first cat has finally started putting on weight because he scarfs it down too! Shipping can be a little slow but the products are worth it.

Verified reviewThe ingredient list is excellent, probably the best on the market right now. My concern is with the amount of agar agar in the product - every can has a lot of jelly sitting on top and on the bottom, which I assume is agar agar. Is this much agar agar really necessary?

Hi Katherine, KOHA is a limited ingredient, minimally processed, natural food; the color, consistency, and texture can sometimes vary from batch to batch. The "jelly" you are referring to is natural fat from the protein. We suggest you mix it in, as it increases palatability. Agar Agar can gel within the food but does not gel on the top or bottom, which is more common for fat.
