  This is only the 2nd time I have used your service. The first was a year ago. So I am not an expert and my past experience isn't that long ago. Having said that, the process to sign up for an ISBN number was not obvious and thus unsettling o me. I went thru the steps with uncertainty in my mind yet faith in my heart since I had 1 other successful and previous experience. I assumed I would enter all information about my book first, and then pay. But it was the other way around - give us your money up front then go back and enter details about your book. It felt like I was getting scammed.

  Hi Joseph, thanks for the order. Unfortunately it's not practical to ask for the information before purchase for a couple of reasons. First, most people don't have the required information finalized before purchase, so requiring the info wouldn't work. Second, people who buy in bulk are buying ISBNs for books they may not have in mind when they buy the ISBNs, so it wouldn't be practical to require the information up front in those cases.   Ever since I wrote my book, Write and Grow Rich - How to get published for $300 or less, I’ve been referring people to ISBN Services.com. I even went to a book publishing seminar where the presenter said to expect to pay $100 for your ISBN number. I directed the audience participants to this website and told them it would be less than $20. One of my clients who is in his 90s was going to pay his lawyer $600 to get in ISBN number for his first book until I directed him to ISBN services.com. Dave Romeo published author of 17 books.
