  Here's what I have to say. from just thinking about doing this to actually doing it, there has been prompt answers and delivery of product. I was totally amazed how quickly I was answered when I used the email on their site. The prices are incredible compared to other sites and I'm so well pleased with this service that for an Italian girl with talking hands, I cannot find enough words to say, they're the best. However if you could actually see me, I would have my hands raised and I would be saying, Mama Mia...they are great!

  After finding that I would have to pay AUD$44 PLUS a first time registration fee of over AUD$50 to get just one Bowker Australia ISBN for an eBook I am giving away free, I searched for other ISBN suppliers on the web and found ISBN Services, which cost me only AUD$26 after tax, bank fee and conversion from USD$19 for the same thing. As a first timer I had several questions which were promptly, clearly and cheerfully answered by Josh, and I proceeded with my order. I found the process pretty straightforward and quick once I knew what to do, e.g. write a short overview and biographical description, and create a JPG front cover image of my PDF cover, which takes almost no time in Photoshop. I have just registered my book tonight and downloaded the barcode, which feels pretty good. Now I have a hopefully short wait of a week or two for the registration to finish, then I am good to go. The next step is National Library Cataloguing-in-Publication, so I can make my book - a serious Australian History work - available for libraries to hold under a free Creative Commons licence. So I am delighted to have found ISBN Services very helpful and easy to use, and for what I wanted - just one ISBN and barcode - very competitively priced compared to Australia.

  I selected this service over others because as a self publisher I wanted a low-cost option that would allow me to anchor my title and submit my book to the Bowker Database. So far I am very happy with my choice. If I need to list my own company as the publisher it will be simple enough to buy a higher cost ISBN Number. I will cross that bridge when I come to it. For now this has been an optimal low-cost solution for my requirements.

  A painless and quick process. I knew nothing about ISBN's (other than that I needed one -- well, turns out, three) when I came to this site. I had my ISBN's in less than 5 minutes. Price is reasonable, especially given how easy everything went.

  How remarkably easy it is to create an ISBN number! I thought the process would be long and complicated but it was actually very simple. I don't know what other services charge but your prices seemed very reasonable to me. There are a few minor niggles that whilst did not cause a problem for me, might be improved upon to the benefit of future customers. One is the instruction on how to print the barcode. The text implies there should be a print barcode button next to the ISBN number in 'MY ISBNS' but you have to go into the edit screen in order to print the barcode. Also, on the edit page, it saves all the detail except for the currency which defaults back to USD each time you open to edit - fine if your book is in USD but not if it's in GBP. Other than that I found it easy to use. IT may be my browser/internet but some of the page loads were quite slow - I always worry when this happens as I then expect it to crash. It didn't but you're left thinking about it.Well done for a great service.

  I recommend using this isbn service. It is very inexpensive for the basic isbn number - much cheaper than other options - and you own your isbn outright, thus you are your own publisher. I was disappointed initially to learn that Amazon wouldn't accept the basic isbn from this service, so instead of self-publishing with amazon, I went to ingramspark, who are excellent, (albiet a little more picky - which results in a better product.). Isbnservices does offer an upgraded isbn that amazon will accept (around $100 per isbn, I think), but once I finish my upload through ingram, I can still sell on amazon, so I am happy with the choices I made.I found customer service from isbnservices and ingram to be very good. It's all a bit of a maze at first, but taking it step by step, you can find your way through, and these services are a big help.
