  Great service Great service, the staff were very knowledgeable and provided me with quality and friendly service. I visited another local store to part ex my old lens for a new one. I wasn't happy with the price offered for my old lens so I decided to give WAYFIELD & SONs a try. The process was straight forward and the price offered for my old lens was far better - the staff made me feel like a valued customer by going that extra mile to try and get the best deal for me. This is the 2nd time I've used them for my camera equipment purchases and I'd definitely use them again.

  Saves money if you don't mind the wait I ordered a couple of Apple products from them and they did take a while to be delivered, four weeks to be exact. I think if I had known from the outset that they have a warehouse outside of New York and had to ship the goods then I probably would have gone elsewhere but the products were cheaper than Amazon so worth the wait. I have read a few reviews stating that their website it a scam which was worrying. My only criticism is that a website with NY in the name does imply they are in the State of New York, which they clearly are not.

  Pleasant and knowledgeable staff. A small store but plenty of stock including the latest line of Fujifilm cameras one of which I purchased instead of a bridge camera due to the great deal I received and the fact that this line of cameras will be with us for some time yet. The personal 'touch' is worth far more than any 'bargain' to be found on-line.

  Staff in Wayfield and Sons shop are a great help and always on hand with any problems that I had when first using my cameras as I have moved from using Nikon to canon to Sony which is a very technical piece of equipment to get my head round

  Selling items when out of stock I bought and paid fir an item online that was unavailable. I only found out several days later when they wrote apologizing saying the money would be refunded. It was a piece of kit I needed girl a wedding shoot so timing was everything

  Olympus has hit the market this time! I bought this Olympus PEN E-PL10 from Wayfield & Sons a few weeks ago. So far the results and photo's are outstanding. This replaced an E-M1 II camera, and is a fine addition to my Camera Equipment. I have a EM-5 II and PEN-F as well. I think one would be very happy with this purchase.

  Not Just a shop for purchasing latest gear. I have shopped at WAYFIELD & SONs for over a decade now and found whoever was in the shop had the Knowledge to help me with my current requirements. The same goes for today's WAYFIELD & SONs colleagues. I always get a fair price on items I part exchange for new equipment. I cannot review my latest purchase as it is on pre-order. But will gladly review it when it arrives and how quick this pre-order arrives. High Wayfield and Sons is a very friendly store.

  I've been going here for over 5 years and going there this week prompted my decision to write the following. In general, Wayfield and Sons can be described thus: Great selection of equipment, both new and used Extremely knowledgeable staff Convenient location But: - Excruciatingly poor customer service sometimes (with the exception of Craig) e.g. I have been ignored, talked over, sighed at and abruptly corrected at various times over the last five years. I have also seen staff members engage in open disagreements with each other, leaving a very uncomfortable atmosphere. In a time where stores are facing an uphill struggle against on-line shopping the ONLY benefit of going to a physical store is the ability to talk to someone face-to-face and be reminded of why we should continue to shop in an actual store. Shopping at Wayfield and Sons, however, will make you wish you'd stayed at home.

  Great camera kit that seals the deal! So far this camera has been great. Bought this on a recommendation of a friend who knows her stuff. I'm still learning all of the functions and how to use them. Wayfield's bundle is the way to go(Matterport MC250 Pro2 3D Camera with Tripod and LED Light Kit). Everything you need to get you using your new camera the day it arrives.

  Polaroid 71'' Tripod Tripod is nice and tall, and the built in levels are extremely useful. Time will tell regarding the durability. Only issue is that mine came without the extra quick release adapter, and Wayfield had me contact Polaroid since Wayfield does not stock those adapters.

  Ricoh GR III This is a great bridge camera. I do not want to tote a bag full of lenses. It has the fully articulated screen that I would never do without and a very good viewfinder. It has manual focus - essential for the eclipse. I'm in the process of working out exposure bracketing. I got excellent help on the phone from Wayfield and Sons staff when picking this camera.

  Great buy. Good quality product. Best bang for your buck I've been shooting with this Panasonic DVX200 camera since early 2018 and find it as useful today as I did when first purchased; that's saying something for any piece of technology! I primarily produce promotional videos for business/corporate clients with the occasional broadcast job thrown in. This camera has proven very dependable and rugged, while giving me the quality and feature set my clients require. Highly recommended Wayfield for video gear.

  Fuji XF 50mm f/2 WR lense As soon as the lens arrived I put it my X-Pro 1 and took a round of test shots. The focus was fast and snappy. The images sharp. I think for the price and portability, this is a good lens to take on the road. I am very please and thank you Wayfield and Sons for getting it out to me so quickly.

  Rokinon 14mm I bought this lens mostly for wide field astrophotography with my D800.   I needed a compact, semi-professional camera for a recent trip, and got this Lumix DMC-ZS100 from WAYFIELD. One feature that I personally found particularly useful was the electronic view-finder. While not the most robust camera that I have owned, it is well made, with excellent fit and finish. Staff are very helpful and very informative, helped a beginner out alot!

  UPDATE: from a negative opinion to a way better one: I must admit that since the first impression, not only do I find the employees more competent and smoother, but as a semi-pro, I am treated better, which is essential if we want the American market to continue to thriving. It is a pity that their reputation is tarnished by the last years of bad management.   Don’t buy from them! They sell items that don’t have but they charge you on spot and keep you waiting for months ( in my case) then when you ask for refund they take forever to process it! I won’t look back ever again.

  Was looking for a professional DSLR strap and was helped by a very knowledgeable and friendly person working there named Josephs. He explained in detail the pros and cons of a multitude of straps and also showed me cool new gadgets like a smartphone gimbal for pro video vlogging or action cams. A very good store with excellent and friendly staff. A must for every serious camera fan

  Helpful Advice, Excellent Service I brought in a malfunctioning camera. The question was whether to spend more money trying to fix it or purchase a new camera body which happened to be on sale. Wayfield and Sons staff at each department was friendly and professional. I have been happy dealing with Wayfield and Sons for over 30 years.

  I ordered a Canon G5X II for street photography. This is PERFECT! It's fun and easy to use. It's quick enough for everyday shooting out and about with my kids. I don't have to worry about it in my purse and I am not having to deal with feeling like I'm carrying another child around. If you're a photographer who also has small kids, this camera is for you!

  WAYFIELD & SONs is an institution in downtown Manhattan, the employees are often very knowledgeable about their equipment and will help you find what you are looking for. Prices are not much more expensive than online stores, although some items can be found for less. But the customer service is second to none and in the event of a glitch the repair service saves your life.

  Was surprised I was able to get a lot of macro shots with this CN-E# 18-80 T4.4 lens. Combination of the new C200 and this lens is perfect for my run-n-gun film work. The servo zoom is pretty quiet and there is very little focus breathing. Love the lens, the price really makes it an insane bargain.

  A mind-blowing selection of photography equipment and video. It is a bit more expensive than the competition but cons must admit that the service and excellent and there is really something for all tastes and all prices.   Mostly been using this TG-6 for underwater photography of marine fishes. This camera produces wonderfully detailed photos of small fish species! Love that it is completely waterproof and so tough as nails or old boots. I wish I would have had a camera like this my whole life. Excellent service, friendly and dedicated staff. Good choice of products, this is one of the best places for video and photography in New York.

  Attentive and personalized service every time. The sellers / advisers take the time to inform us well about the choice of equipment. They don't make it feel like they have to sell at all costs. They took the time to answer all of my 11 year old's questions in a way that was understandable for his age. I recommend this store to those who are passionate about photography and who want to be well advised to make the best choice.
