For the money, this bed has a great updated look and sturdy design. The following are small points in the grand scheme but may be helpful to some. With the exception of the headboard, the pieces can be moved by one person. Overall, the lumber is not great quality - knot holes, sharp edges, splinters. Assembly is simple - and, there is no need to over-tighten the bolts. For example, if the Allen-wrench screw on each side under the headboard - that tends to cause ripples in the eco leather. For customers, like me, who have something like a CASPER mattress, you should check the manufacturer's recommended slat width. Nothing online at MODLOFT provides that spec for the Chelsea bed. In the case of CASPER, they recommend "Either a slatted or solid platform gives your mattress even support. If slatted, the uncurved, wooden slats must be 1.5 inches thick and less than 4 inches apart." The slats on the CHELSEA are about 3/4" thick and 6" apart. The slats are supported by 1/2" rails attached to the upholstered sides and 2 rails with wide-dowel peg legs that run lengthwise. Some of the slats in our kit were more than 1/2" short and could not span the width completely for support on both of the side rails. The bed arrives in 4, I think!, boxes and the everything would seem to have been adequately protected. Unfortunately, with white eco-leather, even more protection is needed. Though they clean up reasonably well, the shipment got bounced around during transport causing compression marks and small dents on the upholstery.

Very sleek, clean, modern design. The center glass doors are not perfectly aligned and the drawers only open about half way out. But those are minor issues for me.

I'd never bought any furniture online before without first seeing it in person, so I was a little skeptical when I came across modloft. After seeing other reviews and the inventory modloft had I decided to take the leap and go for it. Delivery and setup was amazing. 10/10 Will be buying again from modloft. Looks perfect in my apartment. Feels very sturdy and high quality materials. A very well made peice!

Not the most comfortable chair for truly lounging and reading, but it's fine for sitting in a living room. The view of the wood from the back, in particular, is striking. Great piece!
