The material chopping board (has sloping sides so easy to clear herbs and such) and a gutter so juices are contained and not spreading all over the counter. The board was well packaged and the finish from the box is superb!

Just purchased the knife block set and the cutting board. Absolutely pleased with my purchase. Beautifully designed, highly functional, and saves a whole lot of space in my kitchen. Perfect for a NYC apartment.
The woodblock is absolutely beautiful and enjoyable to use.
The knives with Japanese steel are incredibly sharp.
10/10 would recommend.

Recommend if you have more knives that won’t fit in your knife block. Sits next to my knife block and holds 6 other knives on one side. I would prefer the oak color to match in my kitchen.

I love beautiful things that function beautifully. I have plenty of cutting/serving boards, many from Europe, and some from thrift stores, but they're more for decoration or charcuterie boards. I needed to replace the cutting board I use every day (many times a day), and when I learned of Material, I was very interested. I adore walnut, and the one that I purchased had some really unique features. First of all, the thickness was just right! The dimensions were perfect! One side has the smooth surface, while the other has the groove around the perimeter. It arrived (free shipping!) and I could not have been more impressed! When I gave my old one to my daughter and put this gorgeous piece in its place, my husband asked if I was really going to use it (or would it sit as a pretty decoration). Nope, I bought it to use it. I absolutely love it and look forward to using it for many years to come!
