My roommate and I purchased two angled boards as we were parting ways. He purchased the walnut and I purchased the carbon. The block itself performs admirably and is a great aesthetic choice. However, after using the carbon block for one year, there has been significant marking and flaking off of the black dyed surface so that the natural wood color shows through evidently across much of the surface. While I would absolutely recommend the product in walnut or in carbon to use as an occasional serving board, the board in carbon does not seem to hold up well to everyday use.

Very nice replacement for our block. The magnet could be a little stronger though. It’s adequate but barely. Nothing heavy like the sharpener will stay on it so that has to go into the drawer or risk falling. And our paring knife barely has enough blade to stay on but we make it work. Well made though.

These cut well, and I like the look of them on my table. I had opted for these over the matching steak knives for my flatware set (mid-range 18/10), as I wanted a pop of color. But for the price--which is to say these were 3x the price of the others I was considering--I expected them to have a lot more heft. They are very lightweight compared to my everyday flatware, which makes them feel cheap.

So While these are plastic I like the look of the knives. They cut through a cooked potato or a ripe tomato alright. I’m not sure what kind of metal is being used so hopefully they don’t dull too bad. On the other hand they kind of struggle to cut meat like steak or a pork chop. I cook things medium, and often medium rare. They were fine at first but after 5-10 uses I’m finding these to be pretty lackluster. The knife stand is not a knife block unfortunately. It’s just a hallow shell of bamboo with no weight to it so that kinda stinks. For something like $80 (got a coupon) I guess it’s reasonable but I’m the only meat eater in my house so I’d kinda give up 2-3 knives and the block for one or two really solid knives at that price.

I love the color options of these, but it doesn't replace my Epicurean, even though this doesn't show wear as the Epicurean does. Why the three stars? B/c this captures smells. I also have to scrub it with baking soda so it can get clean.

After learning a lesson with the larger re-board, I treat this board almost like a tray or for very minor chopping since it will show even the slightest signs of tear if you use a knife to cut on this board, and it has an odd film that peels off. Would hate to end up eating that, whatever it is The color is beautiful and vibrant. But, in the end, it’s just a plastic board

I bought the mini in Himalayan Salt, which is a super cute light pink. Unfortunately, it stained immediately upon use and is no longer a super cute light pink. If you even *look* at this board with a tomato, consider it changed! And all the usual tricks for cleaning cutting boards have not lifted the stains. I'm bummed because this board is hefty, good quality, and lovely to display or use for serving, which I won't be doing thanks to the staining. :(
