Love the set. There were a few small scuffs in the wooden base upon arrival. From a design and function perspective it is important to consider where the base will sit on your counter top. The only place it fits in my kitchen is underneath some lower hanging cabinets making it difficult to slide the knives up and out without hitting the bottom of my cabinet. I have to scoot out the entire base to remove the rear knife. I've used the wooden spoon a small number of times and it already needs to have the wood oil applied.

This shears is misnamed! It should be called “The Fantastic Shears”. The wife and I love it. It looks and functions like the well crafted kitchen tool It is. Cleans up easily as well.
