  I didn't expect so quick production and shipment of the knife. I'm completely satisfied! Great quality! The knife is beautiful like a lady. I'm not joking! My advice for next custommers - don't try to save a few euros for some additional detail like me. This is a knife for the whole life. Don't forget it!   I wanted some nice steak knives and started searching. I came across some nice knives but nothing that really caught my eye, until I went to a chef ran restaurant where all of his dinner wear has a story. He brought me a knife to cut the duck and it was an old knife with a bee on it. I really liked the knife and how it felt. I ended up doing research and found that it was from France and those knives had a history. I found that Jean Dubost and Layole make the knives. The Jean Dubost knives had a lot of ABS plastic and I really liked the Layole options better but the site scared me, but I went for it anyway. Ordering straight from the factory was nice, tracking information was provided quickly, and they showed up quickly, and I'm in the US. I ordered two of the wide horn handle Laguiole steak knives. They are sharp, weight feels great, heavy on the handle side which is nice, I wear xl gloves and I’m glad I got the wide handle, perfect. There are what appears to be tooling marks on both of my bees, and a very little gap in the spine of the handles. Wish the bees were in better shape, but it is what it is I guess. The gap in the spine is hardly noticeable. All in all, I love them and would order them again, hopefully the bees will be better next time, or I guess next time I’ll have to go to the factory! I’m glad I found something that was made by a smaller company with a pretty long history, and not made in China! Thank you Layole for doing what you do.

  Quick professional response. I did write them in French with a specific request and they responded immediately, even though it was near the end of the workday in France. Their website is clear and easy to navigate, and the financial transaction was smooth and resulted in instant confirmation emails. I'll know better when I receive the knife, but I feel very good so far and would do business with them again. Fred

  comparison of knives didn't work or I never figured out how to make it work. The definitions pages are not completed yet and some of the lingo isn't common knowledge. Often when I was trying to find something using the banner menu, a screen kept popping up with 6 or 8 squares that had nothing to do with what I was trying to find.

  This was a great web site to use, it was easy to navigate, provided a great background on the company and their products, as well as answering important questions such as international shipping.   My order was efficiently dealt with and I received regular updates in English as to the status. This is a genuine artisan enterprise that produces quality and collector knives. After visiting their workshop in Laguiole in the summer I couldn’t resist ordering more from their well designed website. Very happy.

  Great knives, great service. I would totally recommend. The only problem is that a lot of their collateral is in French (which for me is not a problem) but for an english speaking customer can be confusing.
