  Arrived at rental desk told they didn’t have our agreed rental car and we would have to pay extra for upgrade we initially said no and were told that we would have no car pay more or lose it We sent go rentals email and got the same message as above the car we received could not even get 2 suitcases in the boot Go rentals should be looking into thrifty practices and take more responsibility for its customers we were £120 out of pocket

  We are sorry that you had a bad experience with Thrifty in BNA airport. We have reached out to their customer services department and requested a refund of the upgrade charge. We will let you know the outcome in the coming days. ***UPDATE*** We have received the signed rental agreement and final invoice from Thrifty that shows you have accepted an upgrade for $86 and the prepaid fuel option for $45.39 plus local taxes and fees. Unfortunately Thrifty has declined the request for refund as the upgrade was signed for and thus accepted a time of pick up. Sincerely, GRC Customer services

However it is odd that you found your rental expensive as the discounted rate you had with that specific rental company was much lower than what you could have found online on that rental company's website. The basic package is usually booked by US residents who have their own insurance and don't need to pay extra at the counter.   I rented during the strike in Paris. The company understood that they were no way to fill up the tank of the car on the way back in. I use the car because of the strike to go in to Paris and back. I did less than 80 kilometers returned the car almost full but they charged me 150 euros for the gazoline. They add no interest wahtsoever to be flexible. In other words al was ok but should you be in a situation of strike or other do not count on them to be lineant. A shame. Also they charged me more than what I was suppose to pay according to the contract I subscribed online, two terrible disappointments, butI was able to make it to my meetings.

  The site and customer service was ok. However, what they did not tell you was that you would pay more than double when you picked the car up after paying gorentalcars at the “sale” price, at the car pick up you will pay all over again plus more fees and insurance again even after already paying for gorentalcars for insurance. Best bet is to have someone local get the rental for you after you get there.
