We took a chance on this. Its always hard when it is online, but I think they must be picking really high quality things. This arrived, it is solid wood, super heavy, and clearly very well made. They even worked with us to put the order in while we waited for answers about it's construction. It is a little shorter than we thought (I did not think to measure the height!), but really well done. You can see the wood grain, and it is a nice drift wood color. Due to its modern construction but weathered color it I think could go in any room, modern or not. The chevrons give it a lovely high end feel, but since it is light grey (like dove) it is essentially a neutral. Love this piece, love the service and now we are looking at couches.

There are a few spots on the metal where the paint appears to be a 'blob.' They are not too noticeable, so we'll live with it. There were comments from prior customers who commented on the wood seats and that they didn't match or that they were stained unevenly. Ours appear to be just fine. I didn't expect them to be identical...and I don't think I wanted them to be! Thank you.
