He stayed until the job was done even though it was getting dark and the work needed to be done on the outside unit. He was very polite and knowledgeable about the root cause of the issue and he fixed it. We will sleep in a cool home tonight because of his fast work and we really appreciate all his help!

Review collected by a third partyI went on Angi's list because our AC stopped working. A lot of AC companies contacted me. A lady from A1 Plus Electrical also contacted me about my AC issue. I told her that I needed the evaporating coil on my AC fixed. She said would send a technician to give us a free estimate. We scheduled an appointment for 9/14/24 between 8-10am. Skylar showed up at my house on 9/14/24. He said they don't give free estimates. The misinformation should have been a red flag, but I ignored it. And proceeded with their company. I told Skylar that another AC company told us that we needed to change the evaporating coil. I asked how much they would charge to change the evaporating coil (the manufacturer warranty covered the part). Skylar insisted on doing his own diagnostic check of the AC. He said he would rather do his own diagnostic check so that he can see everything that needs to be fixed on the AC and let us know, so that he can do a good job for us. We allowed him to do it. After a few hours, he completed his diagnostic check and told us that the evaporating coil was the problem, and that if he replaced the evaporating coil, the AC will work again. Since the part was covered by the manufacturer, Skylar said his labor will be $1,850. We paid him 50% in the amount of $925 right away on 9/14/24. We agreed to pay the remaining balance of $925 upon completion. When he returned to our house on 9/18/24, after spending hours, he told us he had replaced the evaporating coil. But the AC was still not working. When we told him that the AC was still not working, he became angry and impatient. Skylar said we should wait for a few hours before the AC will work. I told him that, we will wait for a few hours as he suggested, but we will NOT pay the balance until the AC works, because we hired him to fix the AC, and the AC is still not working. He said he has to collect his balance today. I told him that we will not pay him until he has done the job we hired him to do. I said, when the AC works, then he will get his balance. He got even more irrate and angry. He said he can't come back to my house tomorrow. I told him that he doesn't need to come to my house tomorrow. I said if the AC works as he said within 24 hours, I will call his office and pay them the balance. But I will not pay until it works. He got even more angry and insisted that the AC works. Then he got on the phone with someone and lied that the AC works. Then he said, "there's a separate issue" Then he said "it's the damper" HVAC dampers are a part of an air conditioning system. IT IS NOT A SEPARATE ISSUE. I asked him to take his phone call outside of our home and he ignored me and continued speaking with the person on the phone. After a while, I asked him to leave once again. He finally left. Skyla should have seen that problem during his "diagnostic check" of our AC unit. He's the expert who insisted on conducting a diagnostic check and gave us a quote based on his findings. He said the AC will work. But it is not working. We will not pay the balance until the AC works. We chose to work A1 Plus Electrical because Skylar seemed to be trustworthy at first. We were wrong. Don't make the same mistake we made. Hire a company that will stand by their word and do the work you hire them to do. I sent an email to their office. UPDATE on 9/19/24: AC started barely working today at noon. I contacted A1 Plus electrical's office. I spoke with Liz. I told her what happened yesterday. Skylar had previously put $99 on our invoice for a "A1 Plus membership" I asked Liz to cancel that membership since we will no longer do business with their company. $925 - 99 = $826.00. Liz promised to do that. She said my updated balance was $826.00. I paid her $826.00 with my card over the phone. She promised to send me a receipt showing a ZERO balance. If you're looking for AC company, my advice is to go elsewhere to avoid unnecessary headache and drama.

Got quotes for more work around the house since I liked their install, however was shocked by the prices they were giving me. After shopping around with other reputable electrical companies in my area, other quotes were coming out to half of what A-1 was charging. If this is the first company you’re reaching out to, definitely shop around.
