  Excellent and thorough review of the fundamentals of appliance function. Having come into the Academy after two months of training on the job, I had some understanding of the protocols of repair but major gaps in knowledge of the theory of how appliances operate. In two weeks at Dyer, I now have a much stronger grasp on the machinations of my new profession, and feel much more confident in diagnosing operating issues and how to navigate the tools and information supplied to me by the manufacturers. Fair warning, this is a heavily theory-based course, so perhaps think twice about attending if you are looking for guidance on the finer points of interpreting customer complaints or the actual machinations of performing individual repairs. However, if you are looking to enter the field for the first time or have been in the field long enough to understand that you need a more solid foundation of operational theory, Dyer would be an excellent option and a worthwhile investment in your future.

  Dyer gives a great foundation for people wanting to get into Appliance Repair! I had really no experience coming in and it has given me the base knowledge to help people with a broken appliance. It provided a relaxed but focused teaching that gives you more confidence going into the field. I would have enjoyed more hands on time taking apart and putting back together the appliances. But, I know I will have plenty of experience as I start receiving service calls.

  Dyer Appliance Academy equips both new and seasoned appliance technicians with the appropriate foundation to be successful in the profession. From classroom theory to hands on training.   Mr. Eric absolutely helped clarified a lot about sealed systems, and the hands on instruction was excellent! I feel super confident in my sealed systems diagnosing skills and ability to repair more then I ever have in my 6 years of doing appliance repair!

  I took the sealed systems course immediately following the 2 week Fundamentals coursework. The information presented was very thorough and proper procedure was emphasized as it should be. I feel much more confident now having taken the class. Eric Hollister did a wonderful job creating an environment for successful growth and learning. I will be back for further education solely based off of his ability as an instructor.

  Eric was an excellent and especially knowledgeable teacher. He was certainly smarter than any engineer I've met. I'd one hundred percent recommend this course for anyone wanting to get into the trade. However, because it is only two weeks, understand that it will not come close to teaching you everything. It's just a very crucial stepping stone.

  With just a basic background in appliances, this experiences has put all the missing pieces together and filled in all the blanks. Engaging and interactive with the instructor and classmates.. was a real hands on opportunity to expand my base and provide me the confidence to walk put and start taking jobs Monday..   Overall I found the program to be extremely helpful. As a "green" technician to the field I didn't know what to expect when it came to the coursework and was anxious to get started. However our instructor Eric Hollister has a profound knack for reaching individuals with coursework and material that is made to be easily understood. Should questions arise he was never hesitant to help or further explain. It was a very welcoming environment that encouraged critical thinking and allows for growth to be made. The personal experience aspect Eric was able to provide was incredibly helpful and kept the class stimulated. Over the course of the 2 weeks with which the class and teaching is held within I could tell my abilities and understanding had improved significantly. The "why" of doing things was revealed and actually began to make sense. I began to feel more confident and was encouraged along the way. The small classroom environment was a wonderful experience as well as I felt that the instructor was able to thoroughly explain and teach the coursework effectively and efficiently. I will recommend this course to all individuals I meet with an interest in this field solely based on my experience.

  It was excellent very intuitive and straight to the point. I learned so much in such a short amount of time which can be somewhat overwhelming at times but overall the value of this class is well over $2000. Lots of useful information that will make you money and just very convenient things to know in general as well. Well done :)

  Eric Hollister, one of the teacher’s here at dyer academy is a very informative and laid back teacher. Awesome at explaining key details to help you fully understand the fundamentals of appliance repair.   Desopite being a two week course.its a poweful course packed with a lot of to the point theoratical and practical knowledge.   Eric explained all lectures great. He made us think which was good for me, it challenges me. He also had us participate during lessons to see if we were understanding what he was teaching.   Im new to the appliance repair industry. Found dyer academy thru internet. I learned a lot from this class. They were able to explain properly the how each appliances works and functions of each specific parts which i think is very important if your going to diagnose and repair infividual applianaces. Happy to give them 5 stars, im well satisfied with their way of teaching. Trust me its worth to enroll and learn at DYER before you do appliance repair.

  This was an amazing course. I was stumbling around half fixing, half guessing what was wrong with appliances. Getting frustrated, getting recalls, crying myself to sleep. Then I found Dyer.   The instructor Eric was super knowledge, he made everything simple to understand. The hands on portion of the class helped to lock on what we had learned about earlier that day. Having only worked on appliances for a couple of months before this as an assistant I was a bit nervous going in. Now being a Dyer graduate I feel comfortable to face any appliance. While I know I do not know everything, I know more than most techs and have the tools at my disposal to find the problem and not have to guess. I can always prove the problem to myself and my customers. This class has made was definitely worth the money. The last few days of class are almost all hands on and you have to face the machines and change parts as well as diagnose. You walk out amazed at why you can retain and with a new found confidence. Eric the instructor gives you ETT (Eric tech tips) along the way and tells funny stories that keep you engaged in why is being taught. Five stars and two thumbs way up for Dyer appliance academy!

  I seriously had the best time here. We were the first class with the new instructor and you wouldve thought it had been the same guy all this time. Eric is a funny, straight forward, helpful guy and made things about as clear as he possibly could for a guy who had ZERO EXPERIENCE with appliance repair. If you pay attention, take good notes, and study you will do great. And even then it's easier than im making it sound. The only issue I had was with another student there but that was totally out of their control and Eric even handled this guy's nonsense like a champ. But like I said, that is literally the only issue I had and it had zero effect on my ability to learn and come out feeling confident enough to come home and give my own appliances at home a good once over the day I graduated. The owners, Heather and Chris were super chill and easy to talk to and both had a great mix of professionalism and down to earth attitudes. The 7 other classmates I had were awesome people who, right away, caught on to the fact that i was just a quiet, chill dude who was there to learn and didn't push me into feeling I needed to constantly converse or act any kind of way. Every one of them were intelligent, witty, and helpful. Even the guy who drove me bonkers was very bright in certain aspects and was able to explain things more clearly for me. I will 100% be coming to take the advanced classes. I have doubts about wanting to be in this industry or that I will succeed in this industry thanks to this class and the people behind it.

  I personally believe its the perfect place to start your journey in appliance industry. Dave the instructor gives all what he got and makes sure you receive as much knowledge possible in a short time frame. The course itself its pretty intense so if you come there with no previous knowledge, your educational growth is exponencial. It gave me a solid fundation and good sense of direction.   Best training class I have attended in my long working life. To make it better for me, I would ask that the class include more lab time reading and interpreting error codes displayed by modern (motherboard equipped, computer controlled) appliances. Kudos to Dave Bird the instructor.
